And he didn't, obviously still playing a game. He looped around her in circles a few times before running straight again, eventually coming to a small stream and leaping over it. On the far side, he whipped behind a stand of trees and then stopped, watching for her.

Echo continued to lope easily through the forest, towards the stream that he had cleared. Her tail wagged slowly behind her as he ran about her, then ran forward and out of sight. Growing suspicious, she picked up the pace, coming to the stream quicker. But she didn't jump over it. The water didn't really bother her or anything, so she simply waded straight into the middle, looking this way and that for him.
She sniffed, trying to catch his scent. But the wind was blowing the wrong way. Ears back, she looked around again. Where was he...?

When she didn't run past after a few moments, he peeked around the tree, wondering what was keeping her. And blinked at seeing her standing in the stream looking around. "Hoping the water will carry you away? Flowing off to the distance ... flowing flowing," he called out, stepping from behind the tree. He was really just babbling and didn't mean anything by it ... at least this time.

"Floating, carry away.." she echoed, glancing down at the water. The wolf staring back at her wasn't one she was hoping to see..

He tilted his head, catching some of that in her tone, if nothing else. "Something wrong?" he asked, for once not adding a bunch of unecessary words and phrases.

For a minute the she-wolf didn't respond to him. She was too busy staring at her reflection, wondering what others thought of her. Echo definitely didn't see herself as some prize or anything... she was just Echo. Finally her ears flicked back and she glanced up at him. "Wrong..." she shook her head then moved out of the water, hoping he wouldn't really press.

And Raz didn't, at least not verbally. Moving over toward her, he turned and sidled up next to her. Then he leaned over just slightly, bumping her a bit. He was attempting to distract her from whatever her thoughts were dwelling on that was upsetting her.

Echo blinked, then was suddenly stumbling off to the side after the male had bumped her. For a moment she was sort of in shock, not quite unable to grasp the situation really. But then she shook her head and glanced at him. She got this weird expression on her face, but it wasn't at all scolding or anything negative like that. If anything, it was a tad playful..

His eyes widened slightly ... he hadn't meant to nearly knock her over! "Like a leaf in the wind, falling falling," he half-yelped, starting to move around to her other side. But he paused when she didn't actually fall, head tilting. He wasn't quite sure what to make of the look she gave him then.

Echo flicked an ear randomly, looking off to the side thereafter. She was pretending like something had caught her eye and that she was now checking it out to attempt to see what it was..

Raz blinked again at that and stood up a bit taller, trying to see around her to whatever she was looking at. His ears pricked in that direction as well ... and in trying to figure out what she was looking at, he wasn't paying attention to anything else.

Echo grinned. Her planned had worked just like she thought it would. So, with him looking off at virtually nothing, the female took the chance to crouch, waggle her butt, then pounce on him playfully.

As such, that surprised him and he fell over with a yelp, paws going up into the air. He rolled quickly though, trying to get his feet back under him.

Echo yipped excitedly as she rolled with him, her tail wagging happily as she did. She didn't care what happened from here on out, she was just plainly and simply happy.
