Azumi nodded and started to turn her head and walk about in search of the kitchen. Tea did sound good to her right about now, the rain only making it more fit for the occasion. Black boots sounded in a muffled fashion on the carpet of the Legends HQ, dark eyes looking curiously at the shelves and every nook and cranny of the place. Still going from room to room and the hall that went by the main entrance, she replied with a little excitement in her voice, “a ghost!? I can tell you now, I don’t blame Dai for being scared. That would’ve been the same reaction I would’ve had, believe it or not.” Being half werewolf, most people didn’t think that she’d be afraid of ghosts, but it was a little thing that had always scared the woman. “This is Morosina’s first time meeting another Legend…First time at the HQ. That’s my fault though since I’m quite lazy in getting myself down here. Moro didn’t really seem to mind though, she usually plays outside with the birds or something other animal,” she said to D-chan before opening some random door, “ah ha! Found the kitchen!”
The sudden jump by this other Legend triggered the same response in Morosina. Jumping a few inches away from the armrest, she stood at her full height which actually wasn’t any different; just a little more of her face could be seen over the soft material of the chair. “Sorry,” she mumbled apologetically for startling him. Once more she cast her green and golden hued eyes down at the ground and her hands went behind her back, fingers lacing each other like the always did when she was sorry, jittery, or nervous.
It was when he spoke again did she finally look up once more and listened intently with small wolfish ears. The words ‘another language’ started her curiosity and she tiptoed out from the armrest and hesitantly stood next to him a little to try and see the book. “I can’t read many things yet, especially ancient like things…But momma is teaching me and she knows some weird texts herself. Maybe I can ask her to look at it?” the last phrase was in question as she looked up from the book and then up at the boy who she learned was named Dai.

D-chan grins at Azumi's reaction. "Personally, when he told me that he'd seen a ghost, I was pretty excited!" she admits. "I've had this thing going on with ghosts for quite some time...they hang around outside my living room window, tell you the truth. They're these little tiny spots of light that I've been calling faerie lights for so long that I can't quit, even though I know that they're really ghosts. My friends can attest to that, though...they've seen them, too."
The half-fox chirps happily as Azumi locates the kitchen. "Great! Tea just seems like a good idea on a day like today." As she pads into the next room, she chuckles to herself. "Normally, I'm not all that lazy when it comes to going places...the walk is always nice, especially since I live in the mountains. It's a long hike, but the scenery is lovely. I use it as an excuse to get out of the house...but we've never actually met any other legends. This is the first time." The fox-girl grabs a tea pot from a nearby shelf and fills it with water, humming cheerfully all the while. "So, how long have you known Morosina?"
Dai nods silently at the little wolf-girl's admission. "I've been reading for a while, but I just can't seem to get through this..." He tilts the book toward Morosina for a moment, as though asking if she recognizes the script. "And...if your mom wouldn't mind taking a look," he murmurs shyly, clutching the book tight to his chest. "It never hurts to run it by her."

Azumi started to rummage through the cabinets for mugs and wherever they decided to hide the tea in this place. Ears had pivoted themselves to catch sound behind her as D-chan spoke. “I’ve always had a little fear of ghosts, I’m not sure why though, I never even saw one until I was around fourteen or so,” she said a little sheepishly, still looking for mugs. Finally, in the last cabinet, she found some and set them on the counter with a loud clink. The werewolf’s head snapped in D-chan’s direction, causing it to crack and a small wince crossed her face for a second before speaking, “you also live in the woods? That’s where Moro and I live!” the woman was actually very excited now that she learned that she wasn’t the only one to live over there,” where? What part?” A few more questions left her mouth, but the words were so joined together that it really couldn’t be figured out.
Morosina flicked her ears towards the kitchen and the question to whatever had excited her mother so ran back and forth in her head. A quick shake soon brought her back to there and now and she looked at the strange script on the old pages of Dai’s book. Leaning in close, screwing her eyes to try and see if she recognized anything, her tail quickly started to sway a little behind her. “This one…I know this one! It won’t really help much though, but it means ‘to the.’” She pointed a finger to a very odd, symbol that was dotted thrice. Tail continued to sway madly as she was proud of herself for being able to recognize this.

D-chan smiles, rummaging about in a high cabinet for the tea she knows must exist. "Ah ha!" she exclaims, dropping back to the floor from her place atop the counter, box in hand. "No good kitchen is complete without a box of tea." This she sets on the counter, waiting patiently for the water to finish its slow creeping boil. "I've always thought that ghosts were interesting...from the time that I went with my parents to the house in the mountains and saw my first faerie lights, to the time we visited the beach and I saw a ghost walking down the seashore every night...they've fascinated me. Almost as much as demons!"
"Oh, you live there, too?" the fox-girl asks, a bright smile lighting her face. "Well, if you head down to the seashore from the pets district of town and head right, you'll eventually see a large house. It's a former bed and breakfast owned by a friend of mine. Keep going and you'll find a forest. Just head straight through and you'll find a little wooden house in a clearing; rather hard to miss, even if the forest is big. There's a path constructed that goes higher into the mountains; follow that, you'll come to a town, turn left and head just outside and you'll find my house. But...you probably didn't need that much detail," she laughs. "Either way, we live about an hour's walk or so from here, in the northern mountains. How about you?"
Dai blinks at the odd little symbol. He stares at it carefully, turning the book this way and that, before giving up and trusting the little wolf-girl. "So you think that your mom can really translate this for me?" he asks. His voice seems a bit drawn, uncertain...as though he doesn't quite want to ask for help yet. Somewhere deep inside, perhaps the boy wants to figure it out on his own...but frustration often gets the better of small children, and it does in this case, as well. "Should we ask?"

"Oh! I've been in the little town before on a little mindless excursion with Moro. My cabin is about a half hours walk east from the town...Do you know where that large meadow is, the one with a very small creek running through it? The cabin is on the west side of that. If you look out from the back deck, and through the scattered trees, the meadow starts about 70 feet away. You can't miss it since it's really the only one out there for miles and it's the only cabin with sides of rock and wood; the rocks are only plastered to the first three feet along the outside walls." Azumi tried to find better ways of describing the house, but she couldn't really find any at the time. "It's nice to know that there's someone around that area," she said nodding a little with her usual smile.
The girl shook her head some to the first question," oh no, no, no. She won't be able to translate much of it, I don't think." Her eyes traveled to the books pages again to look. Dai's next question made her look up and nod her head vigorously, "oh yes! Come on, we can show her now!" Once more the girl was standing up to her full, though rather not so tall, height and was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for the boy to get down from the chair. Even though all this excitement, or something like that, seemed to be towards the text in this new Legend's book, it was only half true. The other half was because she was clingy to her mother and didn't like being too far away from her for a certain amount of time, and that time of being away was closing in on being 'too long' for Morosina.

"I think I know that place you're talking about!" D-chan chirps, clapping decisively. "I passed through it when I was after Dai. I wound up running through it for the first time then, but I've gone back on occasion because it's just so nice. I never noticed a house, though...probably because I never notice anything unless it's right in front of me. Sometimes not even then!" she laughs. "It is good to know that you're not alone after so long," she replies. The kettle close by begins to whistle faintly, drawing the half-fox's attention. "Ah, good!" she claps, grabbing a conveniently placed oven mit to take the pot off of the bright scarlet burner. From there, she adds in a few tea bags, a smile lighting her face as she turns toward the door. "Hey, kid! Tea's on!"
"She doesn't know that much of the language?" the boy asks. Though his voice carries an edge of crestfallen hope, there is a slight twinge of relief. "But we can still ask, I guess." He watches the small girl bouncing impatiently as he slides off the chair and onto the ground. He is surprised that he stands more than a head taller than her, but not by much. At D-chan's call, though, his face lights up. "Let's hurry!" he urges, taking flight toward the open door and his guardian's call, book clutched tight under his arm.

Morosina took off after Dai and towards the kitchen where her mother’s and D-chan’s voices sounded. It didn’t take long for her to reach the boy and the open doorway, or for the smell of fresh tea to blast into her senses. “Momma!” the girl said excitedly and a tad bit loud to get her mother’s attention. Small ears faced her guardian and small tail swayed steadily behind her. The wolf girl made her way over to her mother and tugged lightly at her jeans, standing on tip toe to try and make herself seen.
“Rea- “ Azumi was cut off by the gentle tug on her pants. ‘Pon looking down, she noticed it was her daughter through the lenses of her black-rimmed glasses that elegantly sat on the edge of her nose. Ear’s stood up a little as her eyebrows rose, “what excites you so much, Moro?” Was said with a laugh as the little wolf girl was now going up and down on the balls of her feet once more.
“We were wondering,” she indicted to herself and Dai, “if you could look at Dai’s book and try to figure out the text,” Morosina said in a more calmer voice as she looked up at her mother, silver hair falling a little over her face once more.
The werewolf chuckled and swept away the silver strands from her daughter’s face while speaking, “of course! Where’s the book?” She looked up the little girl and over to Dai, black wolf tail had coiled itself around her own leg out of habit.

D-chan smiles down at Morosina as the little girl comes in and tugs at Azumi's pant leg. She says nothing, though, instead moving to the cabinet where the woman had found the mugs earlier and removing two more for the children. She quickly pours tea into each cup before rooting a sugar bowl out from a corner of the counter and scooping four heaping spoonfulls of sugar into her own mug. As Dai comes wandering in after his new friend, the fox-girl picks him up and rests him on the counter. "Your sweet tooth is bigger than mine, so you put in your own sugar," she laughs.
Dai smiles as the half-fox lifts him up into the air. His free hand reaches down to touch her furred wrist gently reveling in her unusual warmth, before taking up the sugar bowl and ladeling out yet more powdery crystals. Upon hearing Azumi's request, though, he looks down at the book now resting in his lap. One hand idly stirs his tea with the spoon provided by his guardian as he hesitantly extends the tome. "Here," he murmurs. "Most of it is almost illegible, but the first few pages are neat enough," he warns.

Azumi did the same as D-chan did and lifted Morosina up onto the counter and set the steaming cup of tea next to the girl along with a spoon and the sugar bowl, “be careful, it’s very hot,” she said quietly as she set all the things down. The little girl nodded and started to dump sugar in to the tea and stir it as quietly as possible, though the clink of metal and clay would sound every now and then.
Silently, she took the book and gave a nod and smile to the boy’s words. Taking it in her hands, the woman leaned against the counter and flipped open to the first page. Juggling the book in one hand, she removed the glasses with her free and rested one of its ‘stems’ on her lower lip. The dark purple/red eyes scanned the first page and the werewolf’s mind became more serious and focused on the subject at hand.
A small slurp could be could be heard around the kitchen as Morosina took a sip of the tea, but quickly pulled the cup away from her mouth as she lightly scalded her tongue. The cup was set down on the counter top and the girl scowled at the cup, sticking her small tongue out at it with arms crossed over her chest and furry ruff.
“Wow…I’ve never seen anything like this, but there are a few words that I can recognize since they’re like a….um...universal symbol; like the word ‘no’ is the same in almost all languages,” she added quickly to make more sense. “This one means ‘to the,’” she pointed to the same one that Moro had earlier, “this small one means ‘against’, this odd squared and dotted one means ‘with’, and this wispy curved one means ‘many’. I’m sorry, but that’s all I know…I’ve never seen this type of text before, but then again I haven’t seen all of them. I’m just a zoologist and ancient scriptures just tends to be a hobby.” Azumi delicately handed the book back to Dai, “I'll write down the symbols and their meanings before we leave, but take care of that, Dai, it’s very special,” she smiled and returned her glasses to her face.

D-chan watches in barely contained wonder as Dai parts with his book. This is a completely unexpected surprise for her. She had never expected the boy to let anyone touch his book without being in easy reach of it. And yet there Azumi was, staring at it, separated from the boy by more than a meter of counter space and two additional bodies, not to mention a meter drop to the floor. She looks curiously at the boy, ears pricked forward and conveying the shock that she tries to hard to hide.
Dai sips at his tea meekly, barely seeming to notice the flavor. It feels like something is missing when the book is out of reach...he drinks carefully, the steam curling delicately about his pale face, all the while waiting for the return of his most valued possession.
D-chan chuckles at Morosina as she pouts at her tea. "Don't get mad at it," she chuckles. "It's just very hot. If you blow on it, it will cool off." She demonstrates, gently blowing the wisps of steam away before taking a tiny sip. "It also helps if you drink only a little bit at a time," she advises."
Dai looks up as Azumi begins to speak, nodding as she points out different symbols and their meanings. Even so, the text makes no sense to him...the few isolated words blend in with the rest of the text to form an as-of-yet meaningless whole. "Thank you for your help," he says quietly, accepting the book happily and holding it close for a moment before going back to his tea. "I think that it's special, too...there must be some reason that I have it, right?"

Morosina looked suddenly over at D-chan, not having noticed that anyone had seen her actions. She picked the cup back up in both hands and copied what D-chan showed her with the blowing of the steam and the tiny sips. She nodded and smiled when the liquid didn’t burn her tongue this time. Tail swished noiselessly over the counter top as she continued to sip at her new love of tea. Green golden orbs watched the book being passed back to Dai from her mother’s hand and th giggle/smile she said to Dai, “you’ll find out the text!”
Azumi laughed a little, “of course it’s special! And as Moro just said, I’m sure you’ll get those symbols soon and then you’ll have o teach them to me!” A smile was to Dai as she picked up her already cooled tea and began to sip it. Holding the mug with one hand, she scratched Morosina’s small wolf ear, causing the little girl to stop sipping and giggle in comfort from the rubbing.
The woman soon stopped and gazed out the kitchen window, “wow, it’s really coming down now,” she said indicating to the rain that splashing and pinged against the window and it’s sill. It was now coming down in gray sheets, mist layering the view of outside so that everything across the street was blurred and hazy.

D-chan smiles. "What do you think? Is tea right for you?" she asks. It almost seems like she's imitating some commercial...well, she might be, were it not for the fact that she doesn't own a television. "I know it's right for me...and for most of my family, besides Koe. He prefers milk with sugar, as opposed to tea with sugar," she chuckles.
Upon hearing Azumi's words, the half-fox turns her attention toward the windows. The rain falls in buckets, lashing against the windows as the wind blows. A rumble of thunder sounds in her ears. "Yeah, it really is...good thing we took refuge in here," she laughs. "Let's just hope the power doesn't fail."
Dai smiles and nods. "As soon as I figure it out, I'll let you know," he promises quietly. He sips gently at his tea before glancing out the window at the ever present rain of summer. The growl of thuner so clear to his guardian's keen ears is faint for him, but he shakes his head silently nonetheless. "Good thing Kurenai's not here," he murmurs. "She hates this kind of weather."

Head nodded to D-chan's question," tea is ni-" she cut her words short as she looked out the window. Like D-chan and her mother, she picked up the sound of coming thunder in a louder tone than most others. At this age, thunder was one of the few things that scared Morosina most. So much that she would burrow in to her mother's lap and try to cover as much of her body as possible, which was a good amount if she curled into a ball, with her fur ruff.
"Momma...Is the loud noise and flashing lights going to come?" asked the little girl in a meek, shakey voice. Small hands gripped the back of her mother's shirt. Her small white and black ears were pressed halfway against her silver hair and her small tail wrapped was tucked against the left side of her body as she sat on the counter.
A hand ran through the girls hair and a smile was once more on Azumi's face to show comfort and encouragment. "Don't worry Morosina, you'll be safe," was said in a softer than usual tone as she kissed the top of her daughter's head. After that she turned to D-chan with a small chuckle, "I really do hope it doesn't, it'll take forever to find candles in this place...Yeesh, that would be a trip."

D-chan blinks down at the tiny wolf-girl. "Ooh...looks like another storm hater," she chuckles weakly. Dai sets his cup down on the counter before the half-fox picks him up and places him back on the floor. As he reaches up, she provides him with the mug that he so desires. His relatively small hand clings to the cup firmly as he holds the book tight under his arm.
"We have a little fenthry at our house," Dai fills in, looking back up at Morosina and Azumi. "She's really scared of thunderstorms. They make her heart start beating hard and fast and shaky." He pauses here, looking up at his guardian worriedly. "Do you think Kurenai's okay? What if they got the storm, too?"
"If they did feel the storm and get the thunder, I'm sure Danyeh and Grei handled it all," she assures him. "And there's always Kaen, after all," she adds quickly. "You know how close they are, fenthry and sparieh. I think it has something to do with the fact that they're both red," she laughs.
"But Hoshi and Koe and Kaju get along well and they're exact opposites," he reminds the fox-girl.
"Oh, yeah," she mutters. "Ah, well. Maybe it's just with those two." As Azumi mentions candles, the half-fox cocks her head. "Wait, candles? Why do we need those--" And here she stops, hitting her forehead with one black-furred hand. "Right, right, dead brain. Well, shall Dai and I begin the search?" she volunteers, striking up a heroic pose. Dai rolls his eyes and sips at his tea as he scoots out of the room to begin the search, leaving D-chan to snicker at herself and trot after him.

Azumi laughed at D-chans pose and nodded, "we'll go look around the other side of the house." She stood up properly now and plucked Morosina off the counter top. The little girl was shaking very slightly and gripped her mother's shirt strap with one hand as she watched her new friend Dai trot off with his guardian close behind. "You're getting heavy, Moro, soon I won't be able to carry you!" chuckled the werewolf as she followed a few paces behind the other two.
Down at the other end of the house, the pair went into each room and rumaged through closets and doors. The whole time then green and gold lanterns of the wolf girl would flick to the windows every few seconds. The rain continued to hit everywhere outside and pinged off the roof, sounding a little louder at this end than in the kitchen. Ears were still layed back against her head and her tail wrapped itself half way around her mother's arm.
"Oh where are those little buggers!" said Azumi in an exasperated tone as she closed the door to another closet. By now she would've put Morosina on the ground to help look, but seeing that her Legend was going through a few of her nerves, she decided against parting the little leech from her.
