most embarassing MB moment: my bass clarinet's low Eb key on the bell snagged a small hole in my pants and made it huge.. hole is still there.. this was right before compie too.. lol
also before our final game, I had a floor peg on my baby and swung the thing parallel to the ground for horns down and almost hit the other bass clari in the balls with it...

We were in Indianapolis for BOA, and there was a group of us on a short bus. Which was oddly appropriate considering how that group of us act.
Anywho, Mr. Kerr, who's riding the short bus with us, picks up the intercom thing and starts pretending to be a tourguide. He asks us questions, like "Who's the quarterback" (or whatever, I don't know football) "for the Colts?" and someone answers "Peyton Manning!"
So then he asks who the coach is. Found without an answer, we also answer, "Peyton Manning!"
"Who's the mayor of Indianapolis?"
"Peyton Manning!"
So now, whenever someone asks a "who?" question, it is customary to answer "Peyton Manning."
See also the idiotic band member thread for the story of Trevorgate.

Our band=pervert cult. Seriously, it's awesome.
Last year we had this total asswipe director-woman-monster, so when someone came in to evaluate her teaching she put up letters spelling "Follow Your Dreams" up above the whiteboard. So a few weeks ago the other band director and I get this idea to rearrange the letters (the woman director left). After we stole a few from other places, we made it say "Sour Yellow For Mad Hands". Then a few days later the band members made it say "Damn, My Knobs Are For Sale!".
Every marching band performance we'd get our plumes and everyone would rub their hands up and down on them and make noises like they were jacking off. It was awesome! surprised

hehe. band camp really starts waqy too early for us or something...
my friend preston stands next to me during our warmup blocks. the thing is i think it was just a TAD bit too early for him. everyone was incredibly sleepy and tired and the sun isn't even quite up yet when preston points to the sun and goes

OMG... we had our homecoming pep assembly Friday, and the senior bari player made this headless doll which he named "Bar Mitzvah" (don't ask me why, 'cause I have no idea; he's just weird) and dressed in our school colors. Well, about halfway through the assembly he threw it up into the rest of the band and was like, "Pass it! Pass it!" So we sent the doll crowd-surfing all over the band. (Band surfing? xd ) It was SO funny.

one time at band camp...
just kidding...well, what happens on the band bus stays on the band bus, and that's where all the fun stuff happens...hmmma fun thing we do are "paper plate" awards, like most likely to break an instrument, the Case award (tuba player turn sharp) and the deep thoughts award...then there's the old laugh at luthen 'cause his mouth is swollen beyond all belief and/or reason (again, jk) umm...water war at the end of band camp, play in the rain at the end of band camp various show-themed items, like chess piece necklaces, marbles with littlesuperheroes/villains on them, and eyepatches (sure, screw up our depth perception even more)

Well, my first day in an American marching band (in Texas, no less) we were doing drill and I fainted... fell right down onto the blacktop and everything... first thing I asked when I (more or less) woke up... "is the trumpet alright?!" And that's not all... As I was escorted off the field by the assistant drum major, I started feeling really sick, and at the edge of the field I threw up all over her shoes. redface Great way to start freshman year. But I was out and marching again fifteen minutes later!
Also, at the beginning of that year... I was at uniform fittings, trying on the concert dresses, and I put mine on backwards -- which makes sense, 'cause then the zipper's in front, where it's easy to actually put on! Anyway, I didn't know it was the wrong way, so I turned to the other person in the locker room and said, "wow, this fits funny," and she told me I had it on backwards (she was a b*tch about it, too). Of course now, three years later... she's my best friend... xp

We once pied our BD in the face...
And one of the quiet drummer kids was stuffed in about 17 shirts and encouraged to parade about the band room in reharsal...the sound of "RICK RICK HU HA HA!!!" was quite overwhelming.
OF course...there are those kids that just generally don't like the song choice, so just today, all the upper classmen in the alto sax row played a different song (in time) in the middle of the song the rest of the band way playing...I drum major started chasing the one kid all around the room, and since the band was never qued to stop playing, the music kept going, but most of us that didn't have our heads buried in the notes were laughing so much it was hard to play at all.
