Mauimango7 I'm sure many of you are already aware that tomorrow (April 26, 2006) is the Day of Silence. Hmm. It looks like the topic is a year old and those who complained about missing out last year will get another chance.
I'm all for supporting people who choose an "alternative lifestyle" but there is no way I could stay silent for a whole day. My job and anyone else's recquires speaking all the time. Sometime throughout the day you will hafta talk to someone.
Best of luck to whoever attempts it this year.

In 8th grade, I introduced that to my middle school and carried around a little sign that I showed my teachers to tell them I wasn't talking. All my classmates made bets on if I would talk during the day.
I only said "pass me that.." during science class for a lab. XD.
And freshman year of high school, it was like the whole school did it. Of course back then I went to an Art school... XD.
This year I'm completely ready to do it at this new gigantic high school.
The first year I did it I wore all black, the second year lots of rainbows, and this year I might wear black again or polka dots. I'm not sure.

My school does a official one each year. People wear stickers, and the teachers support those who do stay silent. ^_____^ It is all organized by my schools Gay Straight Alliance.
I did it last year, and only messed up once. It was my first time reading a fruits basket manga and I saw Kagura and I said to my friend "Wow... she's violent."
That was all though. No messing up this year!!!

Yay. I still have my ribbons from last year. Four years running now...
(In our school, we hand out flyers or hang signs around our necks so people aren't confused about why we don't talk.)

>> Only the blackest of heartsYeah, our school isn't really... pro-LGBT community, but I am going to do it anyway... and since I am one of the loudest people in the 10th grade, it might have some impact as I am giving everybody a card who asks why I am not talking... the principle doesn't want me doing it, but my teachers already said that I could, so he can go reproduce with himself. Can feel the purest of love <<
