Ryou shook his head. "That's not true! I wanted to come! When I heard father had sent you down here I tried!"
The younger of the twins shuddered as more tears ran down his cheeks. "I prayed everyday that you were alive. . . no one ever told me you had been banished! If I had known I would have come."
"Don't you believe me?" Ryou asked looking at Bakura desperatly his eyes shinning with tears and sorrow, overriding all that was love for Bakura - for his brother.

Blood-red stared down at milky chocolate brown blankly. He wanted to believe the boy, he so wanted to trust his love and innocence and purity.
But that was just the problem.
His innocence would keep him from understanding what Bakura had been through.
He wouldn't be able to comprehend why Bakura had become the way he was, and seeing the black-winged creature's cynical view on life would only serve to hurt and confuse him.
And as much as he hated angels for what they had done to him, he could never wish anything of the sort on his perfect twin.

"Bakura?" Ryou ventured tentivly, watchign the various emotons flash through his brother's blood like eyes. He knew there were things that Bakura had been trhough and seen that Royu could never understand; that wouldn't stop him from trying though.

Nodding Ryou stuggled to follow after his brother; the pain brought on by the arrow in his wing.

"I-it's alright." Ryou said attempting a smile despite the pain. "It's really not as bad as it looks."

"Nonsense. I've had it happen," he eyed the boy with a raised eyebrow, none of his remorse or sadness showing, expression blank to the undercurrent of pain.
Living was agony, and he thought that only Ryou's adamant prayers had saved him... he had probably felt his twin's desires subconsciously, and he had always loved the child dearly, so would have found that his primary desire would have been for him to be happy.
He stopped with a sigh.
"Ryou... I'll- take care of you until your wing heals, but promise... Promise you'll return to mother when it does, please?"
...And the boy could never be happy among the world of men.

Seto had dropped to the ground. Yup, this was his escape. His escape from captivity. His escape from social bonds that held him. He was running away and not looking back.

White hair flew moved as Ryou shook his head. "No! I promised you I'd stay down here with you and I'm not going to break that promise."
Ryou walked voer to his brother and looked up at him. "I Know you're worried about me, but I can handle this. I don't want to go back up to mother if it means that I have to leave you down here alone."

"It's my duty to make sure this forest is healthy and happy." Amlik's tone turned cooler in warning. "I'm also here to keep them safe and to keep intruders who mean harm, to any of the beings in here, out."

Seto quickly got his blue eyes out of the stall. Before climbing onto the dragon's back and riding into the forest quickly, hoping not to get caught. Little did he know the forest was full of magic and such.
