Just A Simple Dream?

"Yo, Kelvin! What's up?"

"Hm? Ah, nothing much... Just the usual."

James laughed, shaking his head as he smacked his best friend on the shoulder, "You're always like this! I wonder why you're so popular with the girls in school? They must be blind, or something! Even the lead cheerleader was attracted to your charms! Just one accidental bump, and whoo!" He sat down beside Kelvin, giving him a silly grin to show that he was only teasing.

"Maybe it's because I'm neater than you! Look at yourself," Kelvin faked a smirk, looking up and down at James, "Messy hair... Crumpled clothes... An unkempt and nerdy look... There are so many things that I can't finish listing them all! No wonder the girls like me better!"

"At least I'm not obvious to everything!" James laughed.

Their noisy chat was soon interrupted. Three figures approached them from behind, casting shadows that warned the pair of best friends of their presence. However, the two didn't flinch, instead, they pretended not to notice and continued teasing each other.

"Hey, James and Kelvin." A gruff voice rang out, "How dare you ignore us?"

"Yeah," Another voice answered in response, followed by a snicker.

"I heard that my girl's been paying extra attention to you," A third voice said. His tone was one of menace and anger as he continued, louder than before, "Have you been hitting on her, Kelvin? Who do you think you are? Diana will never like someone like you... Hey! Answer me!"

"Did you just hear some dogs barking, Kel?"

"Yeah, I think so, James."

"You suggesting that were dogs, huh? How dare you!" The gruff voice yelled, walking forward and reaching out for James. "We'll teach you two a lesson that you'll never forget! Don't mess with us!"

The two stood up just as the hand was about to grab James, and turned around. Kelvin frowned, looking annoyed as James sighed, "Oh... It's not dogs... Just Benny and his two sidekicks."

"They are dogs! Aren't Jim and Freddy his underdogs?"

"Hey, you're right, Kel!"

"What? You insulting us?" Jim shook his fist as he pointed his middle finger at the two boys in front of him, "You want to settle this like a man?"

Kelvin laughed, "What? It wouldn't be a fair fight! I wouldn't want to go against a poor, helpless little puppy!"

"Why you little! I've got to -"

"Now, calm down, Jim." Benny frowned, holding onto the shorter male by his collar. Looking at the two in front of him, he smirked, "How about this? On account that you two are just small fry, I'll let you choose how you want to fight it out. Boxing? Arm-wrestling? Just a no rules man-to-man fight?"

"Basketball." Kelvin and James said together, and grinned at each other. Kelvin continued, rubbing his chin in a thoughtful manner, "You three are from the school team right? How about it? Three against two... If you guys win, I'll tell Diana to go back to you and that I have no interest in her at all. We'll also be your dogs for one whole week. If we win, Diana's a free girl and you will be our dogs for one whole week."

Benny laughed, and his two sidekicks began to laugh as well, "Are you courting death? Basketball? We're the team's best players! Diana will never let go of me even if you do win... The basketball captain and the lead cheerleader are meant to be together! Not with some nobody from the... Whatever you call it club!"

"It's called Skateboarding, Benny." Kelvin said, shaking his head, "You're in denial... Meant to be together? I don't think so."

James nodded seriously, "Look at you... You have no taste, no looks, only a stupid title and a basketball player's figure. Besides, she said-"

"So, meet you tomorrow at three in the afternoon at the school's basketball court." Kelvin interrupted, looking at Benny in his eyes, "If you're late, we'll have won this match. Same for us... I'll bring in the PE teacher to act as our referee, and I'll say that it's just a friendly game. No complains?"

"None. Prepare to be a dog, Kelvin and James."

"Prepare to be our dogs," The two replied, giving each other a high-five. "We're not going down that easy!"

As the three school bullies walked away, a figure that had been hiding behind a pillar slipped out, "Is he gone?"

"Yes, Diana," Kelvin smiled, "Luckily he didn't notice you when you came... He's such a thick-headed guy. No wonder your attempts at breaking up didn't work... Who was holding onto who?"

"Hey, you two lovebirds, am I being a light bulb?"

"What light bulb?" Kelvin laughed, giving James a punch on his shoulder, "There's no love here. We're just good friends, aren't we, Diana?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah..." The female blushed, and smiled.

James grinned, "You're such a different person in the cheerleader uniform! It's hard to imagine that you are actually such a shy person underneath that!"

"Well, I had to be loud, and it pays to be confident when you are cheering on the schools' many teams." Diana mused, giggling a little as she continued, "But I didn't know that the top student of the level could be such a... Well, not a nerd!"

"Why did you think I join the Skaters' Club? I heard that it's the best place to learn how not to remain a nerd... And it has nothing to do with skateboarding! We do whatever we like all the time! Especially with someone like Kelvin as the president!"

"You're welcome, James! Always glad to be of service!"

As the sun started to set, the three started to laugh.

Playdate with Aure - Saga's Lost
http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=8288175

Dear Diary,

Saga got lost in the shopping mall yesterday... He wandered away while I was distracted. I was looking at some really cute clothing, and musing over if I should buy some for Saga, but when I turned to ask him for his opinions, he had already vanished. It gave me such a fright! The mall was really crowded, and there was always that slim possibility that someone had whisked him away.

Of course, after some time, I managed to find him with his friend... Aure, was it?

He took one of Saniiro's sunglasses when he came back home. They're way too large for the boy! I know that he was trying to hide his one blind eye from outsiders, since he noticed that many people were staring at him at the shopping mall. Well, I guess it's all a part of growing up? However, I thought that at his age, they're too young to actually feel embarrassed about this sort of thing?

Perhaps they're growing up faster than I thought...

The Dream Continues

"Prepare to lose, Kelvin and James!"

"Shouldn't that be our line?" Kelvin smirked, putting his arms over James' shoulders. James grinned and did the same to Kelvin. Pausing, Kelvin continued, "Ah yes, don't forget about our little bet! You do know what's going to happen once we win, right? Don't forget!"

Benny made a low grunting sound, before he walked off to the other end of the basketball court with Jim and Freddy, the two muttering coarse language all the way there.

"Mr Robinson! You're here!" James exclaimed, waving at the PE teacher. He knew that Mr Robinson was one of those teachers you could actually trust. Those who would always joke in class, listen to their students' opinions, and try to help his every student. The teacher smiled, and gave a wave.

"So, you boys ready?" He asked, and at seeing five nods, held out the basketball he had brought and grinned. "Well then, let's start!"

Soon, it was half-time, and the parties on both sides were panting as they took a five minute break. The score was 30-32, and the bullies were on the winning side. It wasn't much of a surprise, since Benny was the senior basketball team captain, Jim was the vice-captain and Freddy was the third seat officer. That was why they were always seen together.

No, not because they were gay as James had claimed.

Kelvin gulped down large amounts of water as he turned to James. Swallowing the water, he let out a contented sigh, "So, still have confidence?"

"Well, it's three against two," James mused with a grin, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "But yeah... We're only two points behind. I thought that we would be leading... Seems like we had underestimated them, Kel. However, for the sake of your love life, I will hang in there!"

James ended his speech with a bow, and a wink.

Laughing, Kelvin slapped Jame son his back, causing his best friend to let out a loud 'Ouch! What was that for!'

He returned the wink, tossing the now empty bottle into the rubbish bin. The bottle soared through the air, and landed in the bin with a soft protest. Kelvin started for the door that led back to the court, flashing James a grin, "For sprouting a load of rubbish. Come on, the break's over... Time to trash the three basketball pro wannabes!"

The game lasted for another 30 minutes, with a score of 50-46.

"We won!" Kelvin laughed, giving James' hand a firm shake. The two boys started jumping up and down in joy as they made a victory pose. It was a very close match, but each of them managed to score a two-pointer within the last few minutes of the game and won the match.

After Mr Robinson left, Kelvin approached Benny, "So?"

Benny's face was as red as a beetroot. He was both ashamed and angry; how could two nobodies beat him and the players next best to him? He clutched his fists, "I can give up Diana, but not my pride as basketball captain. I will not be your dog... Nor will my fellow basketball players. You can request any other things."

"Say you're sorry to Diana." Kelvin replied before James could say anything. He narrowed his eyes, "If not, I will tell everyone about this match and how you lost it."

"Why should I say sorry to her? I did nothing wrong!"

"If you really cherish her, ask her yourself."

With that, Kelvin dragged James with him out of the basketball court, leaving Benny and his sidekicks looking dumbfounded. When they were some distance away, James grabbed hold of Kelvin and let out a snicker, "And you said you didn't like her!"

"I don't!"

"Haha, nice try, Kel! I know you better than... Er..." James thought for a moment, "Than you know yourself!"

"No way, James! She's only a friend!"

"Yeah, a girlfriend, right? She's obviously crushing on you. Only someone like you can't sense it!"

Kelvin stuck out his tongue, "Nice try, but she's still only a friend. Besides, she wouldn't like someone like me!"

"Tell that to your personal fanclub! You're so lucky with females!" James teased, poking James on his arm. He then sighed and continued in a wistful voice, "I wish I have half your luck! Maybe someday, girls will also make me a fanclub!"

"In your dreams maybe!" Kelvin shook his head, and ran before James could get a chance to hit him.

"Dreams? Why does this dream feel so real? So familiar? Who is James? Who is Kelvin?

... ...

Who am I again?"

Buying My Own Pair

Saga stared at all of the designs that there were, all placed neatly on the clean white shelves. It was all arranged according to color as well as what his mother had called the 'brand'. The best thing of all, was that they were all his size! Saga smiled to himself; no more over-sized sunglasses for him! He got to choose a pair for himself.

What caught his eyes first, were a pair of red heart-shaped framed ones, with light pink lenses. he had a good giggle before he moved on. There were ones that had thin and long lenses, ones with circular lenses, ones with star-shaped lenses, and even ones with oval lenses. Some were frame-less, but most were not.

He turned around to look at his mother, but she was busy chatting with the shop-owner. Saga frowned a little as he turned his attention back to choosing a god pair of sunglasses. There was even a mirror for him to look at himself, and help him decide. So far, he had tried on more than ten. The only reason why he didn't continue to keep count, was that he couldn't count past ten.

Half an hour soon passed, and Saga had picked out three of his favourites from the shelves. A black and blue colored one with blue lenses, a black and red colored one with brown lenses, and a dark brown colored one with light brown lenses. He numbered them, and asked his mother to pick a number out of three.

"Number... Two?"

With that, Saga soon had his own pair of sunglasses. It looked a little too mature or 'adult' for him, but it was his own pair. It was slightly too large for him, but it fitted nicely and sort of matched his hair. There was no need to wear Saniiro's ones anymore, and it looked like this.

An Emo Child, Or Just Unhappy?

Saga sighed, staring at himself in the mirror. At first, after the incident, he had been rather wary of anything that would show his reflection. However, he had gained better control of his power since then, and can 'release' the gift whenever he wants to, and not due to his own carelessness. It gave him confidence to look at himself in the eye again.

Frowning, he took up the sunglasses and placed them on. Opening his wardrobe, Saga picked up a few of his clothes and tried to match the color of the sunglasses. Since it was mostly black, he put on a pair of black colored trousers. Then, he pulled on a dark blue woollen jacket and zipped it up to about three-quarters its length. Well, at least it sort of matched now...

"Growing up is depressing..." He muttered, putting on a matching black and dark blue cap. "I wish I were a kid again."

School

"What's school?"

"Hm? It's a place where children, and some adults, go to learn new things, and gain new experiences." Saniiro answered, his golden eyes looking at Saga's uniform, examining it for any flaws. Spotting a stray strand poking out from under the collar, he took out a pair of scissors to snip it off. "The first day of school is a really special day."

"Why?"

"You'll see... I'm sure that you'll understand tomorrow."

"Oh... Okay..."

Saniiro stood up, and helped Saga out of the uniform and into his pyjamas. It was a nice uniform, Saga thought, and it actually made him look more mature.

It consisted of mostly white and dark blue. The blouse is white, with a dark blue 'hard 'collar and several off-white buttons running down the middle. On the left of the uniform, there is a pocket with a silver rectangular badge above it reading "Victoria Academy". The bottom is a pair of dark blue long pants, with two pockets on the side. Saga could already see himself walking with his hands in them! There was even a dark blue tie, to be used on Fridays, and a blazer for special occasions.

"Will you go with me tomorrow?"

"Of course. Mum will be there too... Ingina got school herself, so she can't go, but she'll pick you up on your way home."

"Okay, I got-" Saga said, but yawned in mid-sentence. He blushed slightly, and darkened as Saniro let out a soft chuckle.

"Now, go to bed. It's late, and you have to wake up early tomorrow."

Saga nodded, and dragged himself to bed. His eye lids felt so heavy, and before he knew it, he was already away in dreamland. The last thing he felt, was a light kiss on his cheek as his mother bid him good night. He heard his father said good night too, and he turned over before muttering 'Night' to both parents.

School was going to be fun.

My Very First Day

User Image

Saga looked at the pouch beside his bed. A note was placed beneath it to stop it from fluttering away, and as Saga dragged himself out of bed, he slipped it out from under the gift. Rubbing his eyes, the boy read out the beautifully written words on the piece of bordered paper, "A little gift to celebrate your very first day of school! From your sister, Ingina."

A smile tugged as Saga's lips as he slowly unwrapped the pouch, trying not to spoil the paper. He would keep the wrapping paper and ribbons used to make the pouch in his drawer later. he had kept all of the wrapping materials thus far, and he saw no reason to stop now. There was something about wrapping paper that attracts him... Maybe the colors?

Slowly, he removed the strings tied to two silver bells, and tied them to his school bag before he took out two books from the pouch, and held them up. The covers caught the light filtering in from the open window, and reflected the light, making 'patterns' of light dancing on the ceiling.

"The journal for myself," Saga smiled to himself, "And the other book for school notes!"

Soon, he had changed into his school uniform. Grabbing his bag, he heard the soft tinkling of the bells, and happily skipped downstairs for breakfast. Dragain and Saniiro were already waiting at the table, and he saw that most of his older siblings had already left for school.

"Good morning!"

School - For Good or For Bad?

Victoria Academy consisted of a really huge central building where all the administration and paper work are done. It was also where the General Office and Teachers' Room are located. At the back of the building, there are dormitories where some of the students on scholarship lived. There are two dormitories, the Sun Dormitory and the Moon Dormitory. The Moon Dormitory is for the 'Night Class' students and the Sun Dormitory is for the 'Day Class' students.

The Night Class is made up of elites, either from really rich families or those who got into the school with the help of a special entrance exam... The entrance exam is a really tough one, and out of the many students who sat for it, less than 1% actually made it in. The Day Class is made up of ordinary students, and those who got in through scholarship.

The building to the left of the central building is called the Activity Building. The indoor sports stadium, library, swimming pool, students' cafe, canteen, commuter labs, gym, sick bay, and many other rooms are n the building. The main one, the indoor sports hall used for various celebrations and activities, take up the whole of the third floor, although it shares its room with the swimming pool and gym. On the second floor, the main activities are for food. Both the school and the private sector (companies from outside of the school) have cafes and canteens for the student body. On the first floor, there is a sick bay as well as a 'sleeping room', opened only during recess and lunch breaks. The school's two computer labs are also located on the first floor.

The building to the right of the central building holds all the classrooms and is four stories high. It is also relatively larger than the Activity Building. It does not have a name, instead, it is referred to as the 'Classrooms' by the school's students and staff. Each classroom is the same size, and is labelled by floor-number. If a classroom is on the first floor and is the third classroom, it would be called classroom 1-3.

The school repaints the classrooms white before the start of a new school term, and allows its students to paint and decorate the classroom as they see fit.

Victoria Academy is quite a privileged private school, founded by the late Victoria Cross. The school itself is rich, as the Victoria family still funds it and make all the main decisions. However, the school rules are strict, and although almost anyone can get into the school, if your grades are not up to standard, there is a chance for you to be expelled from the school... Especially if you entered using scholarship

Saga stared at the school with awe-filled eyes. This was one of the largest and... Whitest building he had ever seen. He tightened his grip on his father's hand and pushed his sunglasses up his nose. For a moment, Saga wished that he had stayed at home instead. The building was so intimidating, and he felt so small. What if his classmates and teachers do not like him? Maybe he should go home now...

"What's wrong, Saga?" Saniiro frowned slightly before relaxing. "Are you nervous? It's normal to feel that way..."

Dragain nodded, giving a smile as she handed Saga his backpack, "You'll like it here, I'm sure of it! Your father and I, we did our research before sending you here."

Saga took in a sharp breath, and breathed out slowly. Yes... He was nervous. He was different from the other children... Especially his eyes. Would they treat him differently because of his one blind eye? Looking up at Saniiro, he lowered his voice to a whisper, "Can I be home-schooled instead? You can teach me... Sister was home-schooled before this right? Maybe I can do the same..."

"No," Saniiro shook his head, and placed a hand on Saga's head. "You'll love it here. Now, we have to go... I have to work, and your mum have to go home. Ingina will pick you up after school."

Dragain smiled, "You can do this, Saga! We'll be waiting at home for you."

Saga frowned as his parents walked away. For a moment, he felt like a little boy again; so lost, so scared, and so small in such a big world. Clutching his sling bag with his right hand, he reached inside and took out a black box - the box containing his sunglasses. Opening it, he fumbled with his sunglasses before putting them on hastily.

Did anyone see his right eye? He was facing his parents before this, and they had blocked him from view...

He clutched at his collar, like he was trying to loosen the noose. It wouldn't be that bad... His parents would never do anything to make him suffer... Letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding, the boy flung his long bangs to a side and walked into the towering school gates.

'Good luck to me...'
PostPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2007 7:12 am

"Good morning, Miss Kel." The class greeted in unison as everyone bowed slightly. Saga went with the flow as he blushed lightly; he was glad that for some reason, he could follow the class' movements almost completely. For example, when the class started to bow, Saga caught on quickly and bowed with his class. If he didn't, he would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

"Good morning, class," The blue-eyed, black hair female smiled. She bowed back, before gesturing for the class to take a seat. When everyone was seated, she scanned the room. Her eyes darted from student to student, before they stopped on Saga. "Ah yes... You must be the new student, Saga. Why don't you introduce yourself?"

The dark haired male almost groaned. Why? Why of all things, must he give an introduction? Especially in front of so huge a crowd... There were around forty in the class, including himself. Pushing his chair backwards without making too much noise, Saga stood up and cleared his throat. There was an awkward silence as he mused over what to say.

"Well," He started, his tone hesitant and shaky, "My name is Saga, and as you already know, I'm a new student here. Before this, I was home-schooled by my parents... My favourite color is blue, especially the darker shades of blue. I wish to learn how to play basketball..."

Saga paused, and swept his bangs to one side; what made him say that last part? Basketball? He had no interest in it... Before this. Being in school made him feel like playing a sport, and basketball seems to fit right in. Well, it might just give him that extra factor to grow taller.

Bowing slightly, he blushed a soft pink and quickly sat down again. He could hear some girls giggling at the back; did he say something wrong? Maybe there was something on his blouse... He pulled in his chair, and turned back to face the teacher in front.

"Hey, Saga," The boy beside him finally spoke in a low whisper. His eyes kept shifting from between the teacher's back and Saga, "I'm Tony... Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. The teacher was looking, and I didn't want to take the risk... You don't want detention on the first day of school, right?"

Saga shook his head, relieved that someone had finally talked to him. Looking at the teacher, he whispered back, "Thanks."

Tony stared at Saga for a moment, "Hm... No need to, but no problem. I'll show you around the school during our break."

Saga smiled, and turned back to face the front. As the teacher's explanations soon turned to the sound of seemingly mindless droning, Saga hid a yawn. Tony might just be the first friend he makes in this school.

Dear Diary,

Saga's enjoying his time in school, so I'm glad about that. However, I had been receiving complains about his behavior in class from his teachers... They commented that he is a very talkative boy, and that he can't seem to sit still during lessons, especially during math lessons. They also said that he had been sleeping in class. Maybe I should make him sleep earlier at night.

On another note, he asked for a basketball from Saniiro yesterday. Saga said something about bringing it to school so that he could pick up the sport, and maybe try out for the basketball team auction next month. I guess this must be a part of growing up?

A Pinch Of Homework

Saga sighed, looking out of the window into the clear blue sky. Today would be a perfect day to practise basketball... Tony had commented that he was close to shooting his first goal the last time they practised, so he was eager to get better as soon as possible. He had even convinced Saniiro to buy him his own basketball...

Crying out in frustration, Saga looked down at the black piece of paper. Well, it was not totally blank; he had written his name and class on the top right hand corner of the lined paper.

'Remember to finish this assignment, or you will have to forfeit the field trip to the Museum next week!' The warning that his new english teacher gave in class ran through his head, 'It's easy... Just write an essay on your feelings about yourself! It will not be graded... I just wish to know more about everyone, since I'm new to this class.'

Saga nibbled the end of his pen, his eye brows knitted together in a frown. Slowly, he placed the nib of the pen on the paper, and begun to write.

Essay
My name is Saga, and my birthday is on April 18. I have several siblings, and live together with my parents in a house in Barton.

I had always been home-schooled by my father until now. He told me that going to a school will improve my 'people skills', although I didn't really understand what he means, even till now. Being home-schooled meant that I could learn at my own speed, but being in a school meant that I need to keep up with the pace of the class or be left behind... That took some getting used to, although I had my friends' help.

One good thing about being in a school, is that you get to meet a lot of new people. I'm not only referring to my classmates, but my teachers as well. Although I feel that obeying the teachers can be quite annoying, they can be rather nice too. For example, when I got a headache the other day during PE lesson, the teacher immediately took me to rest in the sick bay.

My interests are drawing, and reading. I'm not very good at art in school though... My new interest is basketball. A friend is currently teaching me the basics of the sport, and I hope that I'll become better than I was in drawing at it.

You must be wondering why this essay is rather good. Well, I cheated because my sister insisted on helping me check my work. I wrote this after she checked my draft. I'm not that good at essays... Hopefully I'll improve with time!

Dear Diary,

As a father, I had tried my best to nurture Saga so that he can grow up to be a fine gentleman. Gentleman, as if in behavior... Kind, gentle and refined. Saga has the first two qualities, but the third... Ever since he went to school, he seems to be becoming more vulgar. Dragain says that it's just a phrase and that he'll out-grow it, but I can't help but worry.

As a psychologist, I know that Saga is going through his... 'Growing into a teenager' stage in life, and I know that this stage can be filled with memories that will later affect his character. This stage is as important as his teenager years...

I know that I can be strict; even my students and fellow co-workers had told me to 'soften' up on several occasions. However, I feel that I have to be strict with Saga... Not only because he is my son, but because I do not want him to regret anything he had done later on in life. Yes, I know that everyone have at least one regret, but I do not want Saga to live a life of regrets...

I have many clients, 'teenagers' in their own right. 'In this own right' meaning a demon who is about 100 years old is considered a teenager in his race, but a human who is 16 is considered a teenager in the mortal world. They come to me with teary eyes, and these ones are already the 'luckier' ones.

Some, whose parents had sent them, don't even utter a word until several sessions later, and even then, they have this haunted look in their eyes. Depression in teenage years can be a scary thing.

I do hope that Saga understand why I'm so protective of him... I hate to admit this, but he's growing up, and no longer the little boy I can carry in my arms. Yes, I will continue to guide him, no matter what he says. Dragain and I will always be there for him, not only as parents, but also as friends.

A Little Quarrel

I wanna be somebody,
Someone looked upon by others.
I wanna be somebody,
Someone worthy of respect.

I had tried so hard to make a name,
Stood back up after falling.
I had tried so hard to be recognised,
But you had pushed me down...

Time and time again!

Saga whispered out the lyrics to the song his friend had written, going according to whatever is being sung out from the mp3 headphones in his ears. A sheet of paper with the lyrics on it was laid out on his table, and there were several 'corrections' being made. He had promised his friend that he would help him make his song even better than before.

Suddenly, he felt someone pulling out his earphones, and he immediately jerked his head back with a frown on his lips, "Hey! I was listening to that! Give it back!"

However, who he had thought was one of his siblings was actually his father. When Saga realised this, he quickly got on his feet, flushing a bright red. He hung his head, fingers twirling a loose strand of thread from his shirt, "Father... When did you come in? Sorry for not greeting you, but you didn't knock and I was doing something..."

"I did knock, Saga," Saniiro answered harshly, using a tone that made Saga fear his father. "However, the volume of your mp3 player had hid the sound of my knocking... What did I warn you about using your mp3 player to listen to music?"

"You told me not to blast the music, father... I know that! However-"

"No however," Saniiro cut in firmly, using a 'no buts' tone of voice, "I'll keep this for you till the end of this week. That'll teach you to keep your promises. A true gentleman never breaks his word. Saga, I want you to understand that..."

"But, I..." Saga started, and stopped when he saw Saniiro's eyes. Giving a sigh, the male nodded, "I understand, father..."

As Saniiro walked out of the room, warm tears rolled down Saga's cheeks as he tried to wipe them away, "But father... It was a soft song... And I really was engrossed in my work..." He laid down his head on the table across his arms, and started sobbing quietly.

Later that night, Saniiro came out of the bathroom, his heart in a mess. As he dried his hair, the image of Saga's teary eyes came to his mind, and the man found himself sighing. Did he scold Saga wrongly, for an invalid reason? If he didn't, Saga wouldn't look so upset, right?

The man sighed again.

A soft knock on his bedroom door made Saga look up from his book. At the doorway, he saw his father with a towel draped across his shoulder. Forcing a smile, Saga nodded, "Come in..."

To his surprise, his father gave him a tight hug. Letting him go, Saniiro placed his mp3 on the table, "Saga, I apologise... I just listened to the song, and realised that it was a really soft piece of music." He paused, nodding as he ruffled Saga's hair, "Forgive me?"

"Of course," Saga laughed, beaming at his father. "You did it for my own good."

Father and son smiled at each other; the bond between them strengthened as unspoken words seemed to be exchanged between the two...

I wanna be somebody,
Someone looked upon by others.
I wanna be somebody,
Someone worthy of respect.

I had tried so hard to make a name,
Stood back up after falling.
I had tried so hard to be recognised,
And you had given me strength to go on...

Time and time again!
