death_angle You know... There is always a single person in your band class that always tries to make everyone else feel like crap... You know, the guy that tells you you're crap, that you play like crap and you're just the worst person in band. Yet, that person can't read note values, doesn't know how to finger the notes, and can't read music all together. stressed Well he can knows what he's doing but he shows off. He made a comment on the second and third clarinets after we listened to our last concert adn said "The second and third clarinets need to work on their open G and A. I know it's a hard note to keep in tune and play with good quality, but work on it....What? It was really bugging me." Well if you know how hard it is to play with a good quality then don't complain!

there these 2 trumpet players who are really annoying. I hate one more than the other though. The first guy is always saying hes the best but hes always out of tune!!!! and he always tells girls his IQ like we care!!! The other guy is ok but hes just annoying in the middle of a concert he told us bass clarinets he had to "tinkle" then the 1st guy and 2nd guy are always fighting about stupid stuff like sharing a stand!!!! Uhhh they're so annoying! stressed

uhhhh theres always this one guy who pisses off the whole band!! he constantly plays super loud(sadly he sits behind me) and is always showing off!! and all the time he says hes better then me but at our concert i won overall band student(ha that showed him twisted )

We have several people like that in our band. Most of them are sax players. Band class is so interesting when they have something to say about it.

Erisad In concert band we do. He's a Euphonium player...a suckful one at that...he puts down the kids who play well, and like to practice. I bitched him out once, it was fun. The band director "talks" to him all the time(more like lecture, but whatever) but he never seems to get it. At least he isn't in marching band...I would make him my slave on slave day though and he will rue the day that he tries making my favorite class pure frustration! evil Phew...had to get that off my chest. xd Ya it seems to me that EVERY euphonium who sucks is like that. I play euphonium, and luckily I don't suck at all. But oh my God it pains my ears to listen to these people sometimes. Me and the guy ahead of me in symphonic are the only ones who aren't jackasses out of the euphonium section of our high school as a whole. We have 3 bands- symphnic being the best, concert 1, and concert 2. there are 2 people in symphonic (me and the other guy), 4 people in concert 1, and 1 person in concert 2. They all 5 whine with the exception of one of the people in concert one, and it gets annoying.

trumpet player in concert band. Second chair and couldn't play well to save his life. Yet whenever the BD criticizes someone's playing or tries to tell them the right thing to do, he's the first to something like, "yeah, quit being a vacuum!" who's he to talk of sucking? scream

yes my fellow trombonist...
she's the same age as me but older of course but im better than her and she thinks she's the best player in the world...
one day i was so sick of her saying i sucked, the section sucked, the whole band and that the bd was humiliated of us, i told her..."she's not embarassed by us and we dont suck, just you"...
it felt so good xd
but it didnt stop her scream

Our director takes that position. Don't get me wrong, he's REALLY good, he's just soooooo annoying sometimes. He's so picky about EVERYTHING!! He'll tell us "Okay one more time and we'll be done." Ten minutes later we're still playing. And he has all these quirky little habits that are really weird (but really funny). Like he'll get right in your face and yell the noise he wants your instrument to make (oh man he did that to me and the first chair earlier this year and we could not stop laughing xd ). Or he'll make these really weird faces when he wants us to crecendo (sp?). It's funny xd , but annoying stressed

Our band has/had three major slackers. major slacker #1 was talking on his cell phone while the rest of the band was set. he got yelled at by two angery trumpets and an insane clarinet(ME) i'm gald to sey he droped out before conseret seasion.

Not really. Most of the people in my school's bands are really modest. I'm the kinda guy who'll actually say I suck when I'm one of 2 clarinets who can play their part right. Out of 12.
Only the people who are first part, Wind Ensemble are even close to having an ego, and they deserve to have it. Everybody who enters band competes for those top spots. Our school is known for the bands, there are some music judges who'll say that our worst band sounds like many school's best bands. To be on top of that is to have natural talent.

omg. there was this girl who played that flute and i absolutely hated her! she thought she was so good and had to stare at everyone who screwed up or whatever! i was a drummer so i could see everything and everyone and she would make all these faces and just be a b***h. i wanted to launch my sticks through her skull! scream
