(( gonk When I vanish like this, just ignore me? ;_ wink )
"Touchy?" Eithne replied with an air of superiority in her voice as she followed the other woman and the child further down Dashna's streets, ignoring the other Runist's later comments as she continued with her own retort. "I merely don't see why a grown woman needs to learn the lessons of a child."
Melissa was simply left casting strange glances back at the two runists as she walked, a sure grip on the child's hand as she couldn't help but think that her employer wouldn't be happy with how things were shaping up.

The door slid open, hissing with a pneumatic quality. Justins eyes had no trouble adjusting to the light, because his welding mask was still down on his face. Under one arm he carried two torches- one for welding, one for cutting, and both fueled by mana and guided by runes. Without these runes, they would be constructed of too low-quality materials to be considered safe, one of the perks of having half-runist blood. Like he'd ever admit that there were perks to being half-runist. In his other hand, he held a square of metal- the same he used for the piping.
Vechos placed the metal sheet over the leak, and set the cutting torch down for the moment.

Faris approached one of the many crudely built houses that covered the floor of the city. This one was probably just as abandon as the last hundred. He rarely found commerce away from the reformation gatherings. Though, Faris soon came to realize that this particular shack was not as hollow as it looked. The sight of a man preparing labor on the establishment caught Faris's fancy. Oh good, there is a Lyran out here. Lets hope this isn't one of those reunion blokes. Faris slowly paced towards the stranger and its abode.
Faris was dressed casually, knowing that he would be amid unimportant dwellers. He wore simple fabrics, but enough for one to identify him among wealth. Around his belt hung a beige sack, small enough to tote easily, as well as a mechanical looking apparatus on his opposite hip. The large item was sheathed in a leather cover.
As Faris grew closer, he was greeted with confusion and dissapointment. Though the stranger looked as though he was using Lyran tools in a Lyran city, he did not look to be a Lyran. Faris judged the houses architecture as a runist style, which really only applied to the door. He could not be certain since the stranger was masked, but felt it in his right to find out. Maybe a Lyran hired the service of another race. This idea seemed doubtful for anyone but Faris. He was now within speaking range of the masked stranger. "I suppose I should ask what you would be doing in a city like this, hmm?" Faris spoke cold, but not threatening. He awaited a response with both arms crossed over his torso.

Justin was about to ignite the welding torch in his hand, but a voice soon yanked him out of thoughts of considering using Runes (despite him being more proficient with the torch than the runes). He looked down from his vantage point in the roof. He looked at him for a moment, before raising his welding mask
"I live here," said Justin simply. "I'm one of the artificers." And one of the more efficient ones, he failed to add.

Faris thought to himself after seeing he stranger's identity. An artificer? Maybe he is a Lyran than, or a half breed.....gross The thought of a Lyran concieving with a Runist or Geosin made Faris uncomfortable. He wouldn't start any conflicts though unless provoked. Besides, an artificer is still an artificer. "Good. I could use assistence repairing an artifact. You would be paid, naturally." Daliinn lowered his arms and expressed a more nonchalant attitude.

There it was, that odd flicker of confusion when learning that someone of his appearance was an artificer. "What scale of artifact are you talking about?" asked Justin. After thinking for a bit, he decided that this wouldn't quite make sense to anyone besides him. "Is this artifact small enough to transport here?"
Money wasn't quite as useful in this city as it was in other cities and as it once was in this one, but it still had its advantages. He still could make trips to other cities after all, since he had some level of familial ties elsewhere.

Faris continued as he reached into the leather sheath. "A miniature model, but I don't have the expertise to repair something of the nature." From the sheath, Faris removed what looked like a small cannon. It had a wooden handle with patterns etched into it that he was not familiar with. On top of the wood base were two pipesized barrels placed beside each other. He was not sure if the stranger knew of the item, so he explained it to the best of his knowledge. "Its a demolition tool I presume. You put these capsules into it and an igniter sends a blast in the direction pointed." Faris reached into the sack and removed on of the shells. The shell was rather large, big enough to fill Faris's palm. It was encased with a heavy black metal that dragged his arm down some. There was most likely a mana supply somewhere within it. "I found it, but I think the igniter is broken. I havn't gotten it to work yet, hence my appearence here." Hopefully his reaction would be better than the Reunion's.

"A demolition piece?" repeated Justin, tasting the words on his lips. He didn't especially like it. "So long as you don't cause trouble, then wait until I patch this up." He gestured back towards the mana pipe, and put the mask on. "Stay back in case of sparks."
He would wait until he was clear before uttering one single sharp syllable, igniting the welding torch.

Faris sheathed the artifact once more and gave the stranger a reassuring nod. He was pleased to see someone was willing to help. Unfortunately he was getting poor responses lately for fear of it being used as a weapon, which was to be expected. Faris turned around and started pacing away to avoid the sparks that would follow.

Justin adjusted the rune-guided torch to a light flame, allowing him to bend the metal without melting. He gently coaxed the metal into a curve in his gloved hands, before welding this to the pipe and cutting away excess. This was all done in a few quick movements.
Before the metal had even begun to cool, he placed a piece of paper over the metal, drawing a trio of symbols on it with a pen. He voiced these three symbols, and the sealing cooled. Bringing things to room temperature was something he could do, at least.

Faris heard the sounds of welding going on behind him and took no mind to it. However, when he heard the stranger's vocals he quickly turned around, thinking that he was being addressed. He was a bit far away so he could not hear what the artificer was saying, but he could tell it was not meant for him. Faris was also suprised as well as curious when he saw that the process had already been completed. He had certainly chosen a good artificer to come to. He parted some of the hair from his face and he started pacing back towards the abode.

Justin looked at a guage at his lap. "Not that much taken, good," he said. He lifted the paper off of the pipe, letting some steam loose. With that, he began to climb down the rungs on the wall to the ground. He'd need to unlock the door before this man realized that the lock had been modified to require Runes to move.

Faris approched the house and its owner once more with a skeptic expression. "Where you calling to me a few moments ago? Unless my ears decieve me, I thought I heard your speech." Faris was naturally curious, but not in a forcefull manner since he needed the stranger's buisness.

"Oh?" uttered Justin. When he realized what he was referring to, he answered vaguely, "No, I wasn't."
He walked around Faris to the door, sliding a peice of metal into the covered slot and coughing. In that cough, he hid another activation chant of one syllable, which unlocked the hatch. He withdrew the 'key', which really just needed to be a rune, and put it in his pocket while making sure to cover up what the rune was.

Faris did not follow the stranger's response with any remarks, nor speak of the suspecious activity pertaining to the door. Rather, he waited untill the door was open to speak. "Am I aloud inside or would that require a blindfold?" Faris was being cocky as usual, as could be noted by the smirk half-covered by his hair.
