Harabu had followed her. She seemed not to fight back when he told her she was a slave and that confused him slightly so he had followed to watch.
As she brought down the creature he smiled. However, unlike most herds these seemed to be heading back to get back at the lioness? He jumped from his hiding place letting out a rather loud roar at the creatures who scattered instantly. "Idiots!" He mumbled and headed to the lioness and her kill.

Amani jumped in surprise when Harabu leaped out of the brush as the herd cirled back around towards her. Once the danger was passed, she backed away from the kill. She sat down and began to clean the blood from her lips and paws.
She was dissappointed that she hadn't had a chance to more or less wallow in self pity, but she guessed it was better that way, for if she had started crying, he would have seen her. She started cleaning her shoulder, where the hoof had gouged a shallow cut.

Harabu walked over to her and felt somehow that it was his fault for her cut so nudged her head out the way and licked it for a while before turning to kill. Oh how hungry he was looking at the meat. Smiling happily he tore at the flesh getting to the meat where he ate happily, lovely food.

Amani watched him, confused. Why had he done that? From what she had seen of him recently, he didn't seem the sort to make such a... sympathetic gesture. She lay down and studied him, pondering the aparently very complex lion before her.

Harabu ate and looked back. "You should eat something too." He looked at her a little and then licked at his lips that had turned more of a brown colour then black. It was a nice day though, nice not too hot. He had a good meal with him as well, lovely.

"Eat your fill. I'm not hungry," Amani replied and yawned. She tilted her head a little bit to the side.
"Why did you follow me?" she asked, and blinked a couple of times.

He continued to eat, if she wanted to starve then that had nothing to do with him. He was happy to eat the fresh meat.
"I followed to make sure you didn't run." He then went to licking himself clean after eating happily, he was full. She wouldn't need to hunt for him again any time soon, that was for sure.

Amani snorted a little through her nose. "Where would I have run to? I totally believe your threats and I don't particuarly like being harmed," she explained, looking off. She looked back at him and smirked.
She stood, walked over to him and licked his cheek, tasting the blood and meat she had turned down. "You missed a spot," was all she said.

He would have attacked her or something but decided not to waste his energy. "Come with me and bring the carcass, others may be hungry!" He stood up and stretched before heading back towards the ruins where someone may want them.

Amani sighed and picked up the remainders of her kill before following harabu. She hadn't really meant to lick his cheek. It had been... a reflex if anything. But then, she could have just told him where it was, she didn't have to clean it for him.
She wasn't sure she wanted to meet any of the other members of his pride, after the meeting with Nyek, the thought of lions that had come willingly into the pride made her very nervous indeed.
Her thoughts fell back to her friends and her eyes got misty. She still hadn't gotten a chance to let out all her pent-up emotions over the loss of her freedom. She promised herself she'd find a way to be alone, soon. As soon as she dropped off the remaining meat, if Harabu didn't need her for the moment. And why would he? He'd eaten his fill, what more could he order of her?
((I wonder how Harabu would react to tears...))

They continued to walk till they reached the ruins. Here He streteched and laid down. "Leave the carcass." He didn't care much of what she did right now, he needed to sleep off his meal.

Amani dropped the meat and paused to clean the gore from her face. She watched him lie down and figured he had nothing else to say to her.
She walked a little ways away, making sure she was out of sight before she, too, laid down. Now that she was alone, it didn't matter to her when the tears began to fall. She cried for Tufani and Jani'. Would they worry about her? She cried for Safura. Who would tease her about that Pridlander she was fawning over? She hadn't gotten to know Jinamizi very well and she had just made friends with Chukari. She cried for her friends, but not for herself. Never for herself. She even cried a little bit for Harabu. That, she didn't understand. She knew that his childhood had been terrible, but that did not give him the right to enslave others. She realized then that she wanted to help him. To show him that although there were some females who would be as cruel as his family had been, there were those that could never be so heartless.

Harabu was happy laying in the sun, he laid on his side, the heat hitting his black pelt. He was happy, sleeping, however it wasn't long till the dreams caught him again and he was caught in the snare they put for him to walk into. His mind was caught up now and would be for a while. His body moving as if he was being attacked, as if he was attacking. Constant hissing and growling from his dreams.

Amani opened her eyes and looked around. Sounds of growling and other defensive noises interrupted her grieving. She stood and paused only to wipe the tears from her fur before padding back towards the ruins.
Harabu lay asleep and apparently dreaming fitful dreams. She didn't give herself time to think about what she was doing. She just walked over to his side and rubbed her head against his.
She didn't remember much about her mother, but she did remember that whenever she was scared or hurt, her mother would rub her head very gently against hers and whisper soothing words that her young ears could not understand. Her presence and kind gesture often made Amani feel better, though she wasn't sure if such an action would help Harabu.
"It's just a dream," she whispered softly. "It's not real. Just a dream."

Harabu didn't wake up he stayed asleep, but once she came closer his dreams faded. He didn't know what was happening to him as he was deeply asleep but his body relaxed and he stopped moving as much. His chest just rose with his breathing.
