I'm over at Ft. Meade... been in the AF since April of 2000. They told us the other day that the new BDU's should hit clothing sales in October... but if it's like every other new item, good luck finding them in your size for a few months.

Remmington700 riv4 I'll be getting out of tech in less than two weeks from now. Man am I counting the days until I leave Mississippi. Ahhhh...Keesler? I went there too all those years ago. I probably had a better time than you did. My first weekend there was a squardon party and they pulled a beer truck up on the lawn, the type with the taps on the sides. Free beer and the age to drink then was 18! Lucky...Keesler wouldn't be so bad if the MTLs weren't trying to be like TIs like in Basic.

That's such a joke. Thank god I was prior service.

Hey, I was in AFJROTC last year but I moved. I'm moving back to TN soon and going to rejoin. I plan on joining either US Air Force or RAF as a fighter, bomber, or stealth pilot.

Im a dork and had to post this.
Security Forces SF come in all shapes, shades, weights, sizes, and states of sobriety, misery, and confusion. They are as sly as a fox, bigger thief than Bonnie and Clyde, has the nerve of a dope addict, the stories of an old sailor, the sincerity of a pig, and the subtly of Mt. Saint Helen. They are extremely irresistible, totally irrational and completely indestructible.
A SF is a SF all their life. They are a crazy creature. You can kick them out of your house but not out of your heart. You can take them off your mailing list but not off your mind. SF are found everywhere... in love...in battle... in lust... in trouble...in debt...in bars and ... behind them. No one can write so seldom and yet think so much of you. No one else can get so much enjoyment out of a letter or clean clothes or a six pack.
A SF is a genius with a deck of cards. Spades is their forte. A millionaire without a cent and brave without a grain of sense. They are the Protector of Aircraft and Nuclear weapons with the latest 10 copies of playboy or some other nudie magazine in their backpack. When they want something it's usually 30 days leave, music that hurts the ears, a five dollar bill, a woman they can count on, or for you to just leave them the hell alone. They work alone, has work friends, but never invites them to their house. They can sit in a gate shack for 12 hours and wonder why they just sat there. A SF never see's a finished project at the end of their workday. All they see is a trashcan full of snickers and coke cans and a pile of cigarette butts or a full bottle of chew spit from a full day of sitting on the chair that they cut holes into and their initials carved into the desk they sat at with the leatherman they "Acquired". Girls and guys love them, mothers tolerate them, fathers brag about them, sisters support them, the rest of the Air Force hates them till they need them, the government pays them too little, the police watch out for them and somehow they all work together.
You can beat their bodies but not their minds. Their minds can work the most complex situations. How to sleep for 6 hours, do all their patrol checks, eat chow twice and check out the housing area in case someone left their window shade open and was standing naked in front of it.You can tame their hearts but not their souls. They dislike small checks, you doing post checks and messing up their 360 game, answering letters, getting cold chow, waking up, messing up a crisp wrinkle free uniform and painted boots, having to do a report 45 minutes before shift change, and the day before payday. You may as well give in.
THEY ARE YOUR LONG DISTANCE LOVER...they are your steel eyed, warm smiling, blank minded, hyperactive, over reacting, curious, passive, talented spontaneous, physically fit, good for nothing bundle of worry...And will always be there for you regardless of how long its been since you've last talked unless it's chow time.
Two to the Chest, One to the Head! HUA!!

Haha, 'no idol worship.'
Well I don't know what my job is yet or where I'm going, but at least I'm sworn in. I leave for basic in a while, but sooner then, 'a while,' actually sounds.
I'll keep tabs on this thread, I'd like to hopefully see more users here.
