Naofox Vixen_Hawk issrhood Fatima al-Faqadi issrhood Yarrr it looks like I will probably be leaving in the first week of January! That's 3 months sooner! w00t Congrats!!! I am so glad there are people still willing to serve our country. I wish you the best of luck at basic and in the fleet! Make sure you keep running hard before you leave!!!!!!! I've been running a lot.. it's horrible. wink I can't wait to go. I leave for Navy bootcamp in July. I've been working on my stamina and flexibility lately. I'll be running like a madman too before the summer starts! And swimming too. I love to swim. That part of the PT test might actually be enjoyable. Anyone else going to be an IS? Well.. I *WAS* going to be one... but I got discharged. =( What happened?

karmakilla Hey Im new and Im going to the navy to be a SEAL!Any advice? Swim, swim, swim, and then swim some more. Especially ocean swims, they are much more challenging. I had a friend go to BUDs but he got rolled back and then dropped (he gets to try again in a few months) because his ocean swim times were too slow. He had a hard time swimming straight, the waves made him zigzag. Thats said, run a lot, on sand if you can. Thats the other challenging part for people. Work on your memory skills. Just be in great shape in general. Well thats all I have. Thats just based off of what my friend has mentioned to me in the past. Good luck on getting there!

I've been in the Navy for a few months. Just recently got shipped to Whidbey Island, WA. It's alright. Hopefully it gets better after A school.

Ahoy shipmates!~ (>w<) Well last time I visited this forum I was just a dorky civvie getting ready for boot camp---life sure does move pretty damn fast, I've changed so much but it's all been for the better. Except for maybe the cussing. Family isn't too keen to the sailor mouth, haha.
For those that are shipping out to RTC in the future feel free to ask me any questions.
What is everybody's rating?

I am going in as an AIRC and plan to get my commission not long afterwards (via STA-21, NJROTC, or Annapolis) my end goal os to be a pilot and after that retire after 20-30 years and teach NJROTC

Shipping out for boot on January 9th, my original ship date was 20080324 however it got bumped up and I'm pumped about doing this. I'll be going to 'A' school after boot for IT. (Information systems tech.)
I can't wait to become a sailor.
