The Doctor heard the shot and spun around. "That's a service pistol...NO!" The Docto took Rose by the hand and ran for the front door. On the way, he pulled out what looked like a black multi-facited obsidian shard and pressed it into her hand. "Don't let go of it." He spun into the landing and saw what had happened. His eyes widened as he saw who was ordering the attack. He took a another shard out of his pocket, attached it to the sonic screwdriver and turned it on. Instead of the familiar blue energy given off by the tool, a jet stream of violet energy struck the tentacle with the same result as the globe The Doctor used earlier.

The robed figure looked at The Doctor and grinned. To look at him, he appeared to be an Archbishop. "The True Era of Peace is coming. All that resist will be trampled underfoot."

"Where is Jackie Tyler?" The Doctor demanded.

In answer, the figure looked from The Doctor to Rose and focused his sight on her intensily. "She is waiting for her daughter who is removed from the touch of time as mortals know it. She is being treated as a guest, no harm will befall her. Now, I must leave to continue my glorious work." The figure began chanting again and started to fade. The Doctor lept for him but sailed through him and fell with a crunch on the floor.

"They've almost done it. But why hasn't it....OF COURSE!!" With Rose's help he slowly stood up and exhaled another breath of Vortex Energy. "In order for thier prison to be breached, instructions found in the book must be followed. I think whoever this 'Archbishop' is, he's at half the power needed. The book he has must be incomplete, which means that the only oth...er...complete volume...oh no."

"I don't..." He turned to face the Captain. "But perhaps you might. Is that why you were looking for me?"

"Can you? I don't see as how I could refuse even if I wanted to. I have people here who need my help. I've been tied to this planet in more ways than anyone could imagine." He looked to Rose. "We'll get your mother away from them, I promise. Of course if Mickey played it safe he might have followed them, I just hope he hasn't tried to get her away himself. The power these people have been given was already great. I've seen it used before. Their 'leader', if he or she so wished, could literally rot a person's brain all the while digging for the information they needed and allowing the poor soul to feel the cells of thier brain to die...screaming finals signals to the various portions of the body..." He fell silent, a pained expression on his face. When he opened his eyes, it looked like the joviality that had burned so brightly had been extinguised only to be replaced with dark fire that grew as he faced what was before him. "The Tower...yes, that would be a good place for them to set up shop. Reinforced infrastructure, and literally on top of a mass of lay-lines. Of course they're going to be guarded so we'll just have to take the TARDIS in right under thier noses."

Just then it seemed a thought had hit him. "Captain, what about the PM and the Cabinet? Have all the major world power's leadership chains been safely hidden?"

((Is it UNIT that's in the Tower of London or the bad guys?))

"The Government can look after itself! Mickey can't and I don't want those creatures to rot his brain!" said Rose, alarmed, "Come on Doctor, let's get back to the TARDIS quick..."

She helped the Doctor and Nate back down the stairs towards the street. A fine team they'd make - already fit to drop. And she couldn't even tell a tentacled monster from her mother...
"I'm going to make them pay..." she growled.

"Rose...if anything happens, I want you to get Mickey and your mother into the TARDIS. I'll pre-set some coordinates...Just in case. I don't want you to..." He stopped at the sight of the little penguin holding a weapon and the trio. He cocked his head to one side in puzzlement. "Frobisher? When did you join the armed forces?"

*Lt. Flibble puts his gun in its holster*I am afraid I do not know of this Frobisher. I am lieutenant Flibble a some what new member of Piegun swat team, my ship crashed here on a scouting mission and I found your ship and used it to track you here*Lt. Flibble says. He turns to nate and stares at him then he pulls a small stick out of his pocket and he taps the the barrel of nates gun with it, the gun quickly falls apart and the pieces land on the floor*guns are bad*Lt. Flibble says*

"The only thing I feel is naked without my gun," Nate said with a sigh. He threw a sidelong glance at Lt. Fibble, not quite trusting the strange extraterrestrial creature. "Well, where to next, Doctor?"
