Sizzla's Journal
Well, looks like I'm a new mommy! Ari is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. He looks so much like his mother. I'm so amazed. He has her wings, and her hair and eyes. He's going to be a ladykiller when he grows up, that's for sure.

Seems like the doctor wasn't quite right about the baby. Our little Faye is definitely a boy, and not a girl like she said he'd be. But that's okay. I think both Caroline and I are just happy to have a child of our own. His official name is Ari Fionn Marvel-Rose. Yes, I do realize it's a bit on the long side, but Caroline and I had a hard time picking an appropriate name for him. And we certainly couldn't name him Faye either. It was just too girly. But I think we've both come to the agreement that Ari is a fitting name for him.

At this point, he's very attached to the plushie that Ella gave to him. It's a little unicorn, and he's practically glued to it. I think he likes all kinds of soft things in general. He sure does like his crib. He can sleep all day I think. Maybe it's just because he's a baby, I'm not sure. He's been quiet and a pretty happy kid. Let's just hope that continues.

Well, it's feeding time. I should get going. But I'll definitely be back later with more to talk about. It's just hard to find time when taking care of a newborn...

See ya,
Sizzla

Caroline looked out over a luscious garden filled with a rainbow of flowers. Varieties of butterflies roamed through the pathways of soil as the bees scouted for pollen. Caroline leaned her head back, her body suddenly feeling relaxed and warm from the sun that beamed onto her.

Mia sat beside her mother, her mom's arms wrapped around her hip a little. The baby tugged at the pink dress she was wearing. It had an Alice in Wonderland feel to it, and it was quite uncomfortable. However, the sight of the garden made her feel happy; How she loved her mother's manor.

Ella wasn't here today. Caroline thought she was staying at Sizzla's home with Ari for a little. But who knew? How horrible that sounded! Caroline had been so busy, she didn't even know where people were anymore.

Sizzla came walking up the lush path to the manor, wondering where in the world Caroline could be. She had Ari attached to her chest in a sling. She had found it quite a bit easier to carry the chubby baby around like that, instead of trying to keep him balanced on her hip with her arm. He gurgled happily, chewing a bit on the ear of his stuffed unicorn.

Her finger pressed down on the glowing doorbell, and she waited for someone to answer the door. Deciding that if someone didn't show up, she'd just walk on in. She had lived there for a matter of months anyway.

Ella had been staying with her in Gambino for the past month, recovering from the birth and pregnancy. She was talking about leaving soon, but she hadn't specified a date yet. Sizzla wanted to be sure that Caroline knew she'd be going, and she thought maybe they could all have one last hurrah together.

A small statured woman scurried up to the door, a fake smile was soon in place for the visitor. "Hello Misses Marvel, the Misses is in the garden with Lil Misses. Mia." She nodded, her voice soft and cracked, but it was ever so welcoming. "And hello Master Ari Fionn." Tabitha had a soft spot for babies. "Oh, please come in!" Her old cheeks became rosy with embarassment.

"Hi Tabitha! You don't need to be so formal with us! We're friends you know!" She looked down at Ari, who was reaching out for a ruffle on Tabitha's dress. "Looks like he likes you. Isn't he just adorable?" She'd been admiring her new son for days now, just amazed with every detail of his body. She never thought she'd feel so motherly, but here she was, cooing and oogling over her baby.

Sizzla stepped through the doorway, letting the door close behind her. "They're outside eh? Well, I'll go out there and see what they're up to. But first, would you like to hold him for a minute?"

The red subsided from Tabitha's cheeks, but she took a little curtsy. "Miss. Sizzla, I can never be not proper, it's my job, love." She flashed Sizzla a real smile, the corner of her lips turning up. "Hold the Master?!" Now she really smiled, she adored children. "If the misses doesn't mind."

"Oh of course not! And Miss Sizzla is definitely better than Miss Marvel. Thanks." She gave Tabitha a knowing smile, and pulled Ari up under his arms, out of the sling. Cradling him in her arms, she held him out to Tabitha.

Ari reached out for her again, giggling, a droplet of spit rolling down his cheek. Awww, aren't babies cute? He gurgled some strange baby words, and waved his hands around, wanting to be amused.

Tabitha reached her arms out with a toothy grin. She took Ari and craddled him in her arms. "Je suis dans l'amour, avec un homme de charme... un homme des esprits et de la beaut!" she said aloud, rocking Ari in her arms and poking him in the nose gently.

((Note: Our last RP was conducted on AIM, and the window was accidentally closed before I got a chance to post it. Argh!

So, Ari and Mia played for a bit. Mia threw some grass in Ari's face, and he got quite upset with her, but in the end, things turned out just fine. Caroline has decided to take Ari for the weekend, so that the kids could play together more while Sizzla works in the lab.

And now, moving on...))

Ari Grows Up!

Caroline Calls!

Phone Call.
"Ommy...ew!" Ari said with joy as the sound of his second mommy's voice went through the phone.

"Hey honey, I miss you so much! Mia does too! Would you like to say hi to Mia?" Caroline grinned, she knew he couldn't see it; but the sound of little Ari Fionn's voice made her so happy. Her eyes glanced down at the tugging Mia, wanting to say Hi to the brother she hardly remembered.

"Hi ommy!" He repeated with a small giggle. "M-ia!!" Ari replied in a loud tone, rather happy.

Caroline put the phone to Mia's ear and whispered to her, 'say hi Ari.' She nodded to Mia inching her to say hi.

Mia opened her mouth, pausing to let the words out. "Say HI Ari!" A tiny chuckle escaped her lips.

Caroline rolled her eyes and gently took the phone away from her. "I can't wait to see you hun, I saw your picture! You grew up so much..." Tears started to form in her eyes, and she drew Mia closer to her. She wanted to be a bigger part of his life, she hadn't always been there for him.; with the exception of a few visits. "I-i miss you Ari." A tear rolled down her cheek and landed on Mia's arm. Caroline never cried, never; but she truly missed her son.

Ari giggled some more, his laughs like music to Caroline's ears. "I sa hi mia!" He became quiet for a moment, a bit confused. "Miss ommy!"

Mia looked up at Caroline, confused as well; plus a bit angered that she didn't have enough time to speak to this Ari.

"Well Ari, I'll see you when I can. Ok?" A small smile cleared the rain and Caroline made little kissy noises. "Muah aw!" Just what a desperate grandma would do.

Ari nodded, he didn't realize Caroilne couldn't see him. "ye ommy! ye Mia!" He tried his best to do little kissy noises like Caroline. "Zuah mw!" It didn't quite work out.

Mia narrowed her eyes, why was she giving this boy more attention then her!? She grabbed for the phone, waving her hands in the air, pouting. She wanted to talk to him longer!

"Ommy! I wana talk Ari bro-tha mo!" she exclaimed, screeching.

Caroline put down the phone and scooped Mia into her lap. "Sorry Mia, he already hung up," she said, holding the phone up to her ear so that she could hear the dialtone. "I love you babe, and I love Ari too...I don't see Ari everyday." She kissed her head and rested her cheek on mia's soft white tresses. Her mother senses knew Mia was somewhat envious.

Mia softened up and giggled. "Ari bro-tha ew!"

My Little Boy is Growing Up!

Sizzla couldn't help but awe over her son. He was getting so big so fast...It was as if one day he was just an infant, helpless and innocent, and the next day, a rowdy toddler. Things were moving quickly, and Sizzla had been considering some changes in her life, but she wasn't sure if Ari was ready to make them.

He had learned to speak not too long ago, and was content to babble to himself and his unicorn plushie, making all kinds of strange noises that would sometimes become real words. Sizzla was overjoyed when he said his first word, which was "mommy", of course. She'd been trying to get him to say it since he had started to make coherent noises, and the day he'd finally gotten it to come out right, Sizzla squealed like a little girl, pleased with Ari's brilliance.

Though he was almost a toddler at the time, Sizzla hadn't really dealt with a more humanoid child. Her other kids were far more intelligent than normal humans, and they all had special powers that developed quite early. Ari was a bit more like a normal kid, and Sizzla was happy with that. She was ready to live a more quiet life with Ari, now that many of her other charges were old enough to be on their own.

Koniro was always busy haunting the sushi bar in Aekea, while Procyon lived in her own little world. Kappa stayed with Sizzla a lot of the time, but as of late, he'd taken a keen interest in staying at the GoGo mansion. Sizzla suspected that he wanted to be closer to Ici, and could only assume that once they both became adults, they'd move in together and have little GoGo children. Labbie on the other had, stuck to Sizzla like glue. She'd barely leave her shoulder, her wisps always holding on for dear life. Sizzla couldn't help but wonder about the wisp's motivations, but it seemed happy to be bonded to her, so she tried to push her suspicions away.

He was still crawling when he learned to speak, and though he shuffled around for awhile after that, he was soon pulling himself up to his feet, with help from the coffeetable of course. Sizzla was always sure that he'd hurt himself, so she strapped styrofoam to the table, hoping he wouldn't bump his head on the table's corners or hard edges.

Ari had become a clumsy kid after learning how to walk, and this bit of prevention did little to keep him safe. He was always bumping into things, setting antique vases jiggling. Sizzla was temped to follow him around everywhere he went, so that she could prevent as many ouchies and breakages as possible. If he managed to break something, he'd give Sizzla the "I'm-so-cute-don't-be-mad-at-me-puppy-dog" face. And unfortunately, being the not-so-strict parent that she was, she could only smile at him and forgive him, even if it meant letting go of her now broken 60 year-old vase. He was just too persuasive.

If she had to wrap the entire place in bubble wrap, she would. She didn't want to see her baby get hurt, though bumps and bruises were already very common. Oh well, she thought. Boys will be boys...

Paint : On the walls, on the floor, on Ari!

Sizzla had invested in a playroom for Ari, setting up all the things that she wished she had when she was a kid. There was a playhouse of course, and games, books and puzzles. She'd also set up an art center, where Ari could finger paint, or draw with crayons. There was a table, reminiscient of Fisher Price's plastic furniture, with four chairs, and slots for holding crayons, trinkets or anything else of that nature.

And Ari loved the playroom. He'd spend hours in there, playing games, reading, drawing and painting. On one particular day, Sizzla realized just how much he loved the place that she'd made specially for him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ari, want to go paint?" Sizzla asked, offering a hand to her son, who was laying on his stomach in the middle of the living room floor, reading "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." He'd try to read, but managed to get out little more than "Feesh!" every time he saw a fish in the book. The brightly colored drawings did draw him in though and he adored his Dr. Seuss books.
"Paint!?" he screeched, hopiing up quickly from the floor, his wings fluttering behind him in excitement. "YUS mama!" he continued, reaching up to grab her hand, his cheeks slightly flushed. He practically pulled her toward the playroom, and once there, plopped down in one of the plastic chairs, fists grabbing crayons as he waited for paper to be placed in front of him.
Sizzla brought a set of new watercolor paints out of the closet--she'd hidden them up high so that the couldn't find them, of course--and put them down on the table, showing them to Ari. "Watercolors," she stated, pointing at the yellow and transparent plastic box. Ari could see that there were nine different colors of paint, and he reached out to pick up the box and pry it open, poking at each of the hard paints with his finger. "I no paint wit' wa-color mama! Look!" he said, pointing to the hard discs of paint.
"Hold on a second...Then I'll show you," she said, a cup of water in one hand. She'd procured it from the bathroom across the hall rather quickly, while Ari was still poking at his new paints. Sitting the doubled paper cup down in front of him, showed him how it was done.
Tearing a sheet of paper out of the book of watercolor paper that she'd bought, she sat it down in front of Ari. She took the paintbrush from the palette, she dipped it in water, and then swirled it over the dry disc of blue paint, filling the brush with color. Then, she swept the brush over the paper, leaving behind a streak of bright blue. Dipping the brush into water again, she swept the wet tip over the paper, leaving a lighter blue streak this time. "See?" she asked, looking at her son, whose green eyes showed his amazement.
"Pwetty mama," he screeched, reaching out for the brush.
She let him take it from her, and she watched as he dipped it into the water again, this time running it over the red pot of dry paint. Pushing the brush across the paint in a slightly violent motion, he banged his other hand on the plastic table. "Whee!" he shouted, bringing the paint-filled brush down on the paper, splattering paint around everywhere. Again, the brush went back into the water, and this time, in the green paint. By now, the colors were starting to swirl together, but Ari didn't care. He was having the time of his life!
"Lookie! Pwetty! I's can paint mama!" He threw his hands in the air triumphantly, and then brought the brush down again with a good deal of force for a toddler. This time, there was a green splatter, which happened to splatter across his face and t-shirt as well. Full of glee, Ari's wings fluttered rapidly, just enough to lift his butt off of the ground. Again, there was a dunking of the paintbrush into the water, and then, a spattering of purple paint followed.
Elysia practically died laughing, watching her son enjoy the paints. He may not like to paint still life or portraits, but abstract art? Oh yes!
Once he was fully covered in paint and satisfied with his picture, he held it up to his mother so that she could see it. "See mama? OCEAN! Feesh!" And he pointed to the blobs of color, as if she could see everything he was talking about.
"S'fun mama!"
"Those fish are awesome Ari! So colorful," she added, finally seeing the fish in the blobs of color. It took a creative mind to understand the art of a toddler, she thought.
...
They spent the rest of the afternoon in the playroom, sharing paints and and paper, painting pictures of strange creatures and far-away lands. Ari's were always a bit more abstract, but by the time they were done, there was plenty of art to cover the entire refrigerator...and then some.
Elysia's Journal
06.06.06
Well journal, I know it's been awhile since I've written in you, but guess what? Today is Ari's first birthday! It's amazing how fast they grow! Just yesterday, he seemed so small, and now, he's growing out of his clothes and learning new words and amazing me constantly.
I made up a nice playroom for him in the spare bedroom, and I went all out, buying all the Fisher Price furniture that I could find. Now he's got an awesome playroom that even I'm jealous of! I got him a bunch of art supplies, and he spends hours drawing with his crayons or making Play-Doh sculptures. Just the other day, I taught him how to use watercolors. He really loved that, but ended up making a huge mess! Good thing the paint was water-based--otherwise, I'm not sure if I could have gotten all the stains out of his clothes.
But yeah, he's getting so big so fast. He's gotten a lot taller and heavier, and when I picked him up when we were leaving the agency yesterday, I actually had to try to lift him. Pretty soon, he'll be too big to just pick up...
Well, I should be going. I have to get things ready for Ari's birthday party. I haven't heard back from Caroline yet, but I'm hoping that she and Mia decide to come by. It's been a long time since I've seen them, and I hope they're doing well. Sometimes I worry I guess.
Gotta get to the chocolate cake, so I'll write again and tell you how things go. For now though, I've got to be off.
