Ikarta did a hop and a flop on the hot stone right next to Hamdan, stretching out her back legs behind her where her belly stayed pressed the the warmth, eagerly smiling at him. She rubbed his face with hers for a split moment, her scent ripe with excitement and then began to explain. She told him how the Hunting parties were upset and why, and so were the guards and just most of everyone was and why. what the rumors where but then she started telling him about how she had audiance with Prince Moyo and offered to help. Ikarta told Hamdan about how she got to help the guards and how useful she felt, the scouts often are overlooked at times until they need eyes on something so it was nice. Then she went on about how Zuri and Estelle needed her help too! How she helped with figuring out what is going wrong and how she was involved in creating a plan. It was always known to EVERYLION that she admired the two more experienced lionesses and looked up to them all through cubhood like they were celebrities to her. She was just leaking excitement and great energy from every part of her. " I can't believe I got to be so useful!! AND I got to work DIRECTLY when Zuri AANNDD Estelle!!! I think things are looking up! Well that is if certain trouble makers and grumpy warthogs would stop trying to sneak into the Royal den and stop bickering with one another. Poor Lady Wema is so over whelmed. and Nobody would even let her talk long enough to come up with anything usefull. OHH you should have SEEN Potopoto and Daaruk! Daaruk always being the calm one, always knowing where to be and what to say and Potopoto being is HUGE and angry self like a big hairy meat wall to make sure more others who were being all pushy and upset backed the heck off. It was wild! I was RIGHT THERE too!! and.. and.." She trailed off, starting looking at Hamdan, and suddenly started to blush. Did she really rub her face on his? In her excitement she did the lion version of full frontal hugging her crush and was completely embarrassed. Her sky blue eyes just staring at him as the pink on her whole face started to turn rich red, tainting the earth to sky colors and making her look like an embarrassed sunset.

Eyes gleaming, Hamdan accepted the head rub with a rumbling purr, more than happy to be as touchy feely as possible. Then he simply listened, clearly delighted by every single word she was saying. Every now and then he made a sound of encouragement, a little ‘oh my!’ or ‘mhm!’ to make sure she knew he was intently paying attention. When she finally trailed off, he took no notice of the blush or at least didn’t remark upon it. He was quite used to others being speechless in his presence. It wasn’t her fault if he was effortlessly charming, and she looked quite cute with a pink hue. “Aha! It’s been quite the day for you! How exciting! It’s a shame I missed all the fussing about, I simply couldn’t have shown up for a royal event like this without a good bath.” He grinned. “And well done! You’ve always been useful, my dear. I’m glad others are seeing that too.”He chuckled, rolling his gaze to where the other lions were all still milling about. “Ah poor dear Wema. She’s doing her best, I suppose. Though leadership isn’t her greatest asset, it’s not her fault everyone is getting antsy and has the patience of an antelope.” He yawned wide, as if to show that he was perfectly patient and highly unbothered. “The world won’t fall apart if the king and queen enjoy their staycation for a few more days. Though,” he leaned in, voice dropping to a whisper, “do you think there’s a reason? Perhaps she gave birth and one of the cubs has two heads.”

She smiled proudly at him though she was still flushed pink it was fading, She was quite happy with herself and her ability to be useful in times like these. His relaxed nature made Ikarta relax a bit more, she nodded to him, she agreed that everything would be fine, plus Daaruk said as much too. When he leaned in to whisper she leaned her head more to him and had that ear on that side poking out to him. His little conspiracy made her snicker a little, a cub with two heads would be a strange sight and that made her imagination kick into gear. She quietly whispered back " Oh! What if there are identical triplets and they can't figure out which is which to name them? OOooooooo what if she had cubs that didn't look like the King?" She half lidded those eyes with a glint of mischievousness, playfully insinuating the Queen having an affair. "Hope none of them look like you Hamdan." She added with a wry grin on her lips "The King would be after good ol' Hamdan."

((Just quoting you both so you know she moved away)) Zuri thought about what the next steps should be. One of them should start gathering the hunters into smaller groups and assign a beast, while another should let the royals know of their plan. She was about to mention this as Ikarta excused herself, so she directed her words to Estelle. "Would you like to relay the information to the other hunters or to the royals? Whichever task you'd prefer I can do the other that way less time is taken, and we can get the groups ready to head out once the word is given. I think the Prince and Lady Wema would be grateful to know things are ready to go."

Kijani was honored to assist the acting queen. The fact that the queen leaned into her was not missed by Kijani. She began to worry something was wrong.
"My queen I would be honored to escort you to the royal den, if you decree it I shall accompany you inside and once you are settled will leave immediately"
Kijani looked down at the acting queen and saw a weariness she had missed earlier. The queen looked worn out, like the worry and stress was affecting her both physically and mentally.
Then suddenly the queen's softly spoken words carried to her on the soft breeze and she was shocked. She forced herself not to react in anyway so the others wouldn't see her discomfort.
Speaking softly she said "My queen all of the pride worries over the King and Queen, due to no word being spoken on the reasons why, the pride seems to be divided on what is happening. I am sure there is a explanation as to why they have been sequestered this long with no word" with that she took the full weight of the acting queen and said to her softly. "My queen I am ready when you are just let me know you would like to begin heading towards the royal den" she awaited her queen's bidding.

Her eyes flickered towards Daaruk and she that his attention was soley on the acting queen and her surroundings. Even though he was a teacher, he had the skills of a guard. She suddenly felt relaxed, he seemed to have a very calming effect on those near him. It was quite a jolt to go from rigid, worrisome to relaxed in the span of a few moments. Tilting her head to the side she studied him closely, but not rudely. He smiled at her almost in thanks and proceeded to flank both of them to follow as the queen bade him to do.
Her mind suddenly was busy with one thought after another. The queen seemed to be carrying an enormous weight and whatever it was was affecting her health in a negative way. Kijani was beginning to worry but forced it down, putting on a neutral face she awaited the queen's bidding then would move as slowly as the queen's pace allowed.
Once the queen was settled and if she was given leave she would go outside and wait to speak with Daaruk. There was something telling in his eyes and she was determined to find out what.

Hamdan gave a roar of laughter at the suggestion, no longer attempting to be subtle about their conversation. “Well,” he said, once his laughter had died down, “the royal family could do with a bit of colour. They’re all a bit drab, don’t you think?” He swatted at her playfully. “But luckily for the king, the queen isn’t my type.” He chuckled. “And luckily for me too, I guess. I don’t think I’d make a very good rogue. Hunt for myself? I’ll pass.”

Kicheko's fur bristled when Kiburi whipped around to face her and her claws unsheathed when he came close to her again. She'd defend herself if she had to - she'd killed prey, surely dodging zebra hooves and lion claws couldn't be too different? I shouldn't HAVE to fight him. He should know when to stop talking - he should know better than to intimidate a pride mate! Whenever the King and Queen did make their appearance, she thought, a little wildness in her eyes, she glanced away from Kiburi to look at Kemet, a Guard in the pride, and her protector and confidant. Then she looked to Furaha, and found herself wishing she didn't always have to be the one to stand up for the pair. She couldn't imagine Furaha ever confronting Kiburi, but surely he'd stand up to them on her behalf, wouldn't he? She tried to tame the frantic beating of her heart, willing fear to mold back into anger. She ground her fangs against each other and fixed her expression into a glare of disdain towards the pompous lion that stood before her. "Oh, Kijani was with you? Well the Prince was with me, and he never saw me set a paw in their den. I daresay Prince Moyo outranks you and your precious Kijani both!" She growled. Never mind that Prince Moyo had been the one to stop her from doing any sneaking - and not even he could prove that she'd been doing anything! She'd die on the hill that she was just taking a walk in the same direction and since she hadn't gotten so far as to creep into the den, there was no definitive proof saying what her intentions had been, no matter how many lions claimed to know them. "If I am hiding, Kiburi, it's because you are coming across not as a concerned pridemate, but as a threat, plain and simple. If you do not wish me to hide, then do not threaten me. Guards besides, imagine what our Royals shall think when they hear that you came upon a lioness unprovoked to yell at her for crimes not committed! You can roar all you want at me, but justice will find you, and the consequences will be worse if you do not control yourself, now!" She hissed her warning. He could tell the Guards, but what could they do? Maybe others saw her going towards the cave, but even the King and Queen - provided they weren't dead or yet sleeping still within - could back her that she never entered there Den. She couldn't comprehend why Kiburi was so keen to single her out and torment her, but if the royals were still in charge, they were going to be the first lions she went to... especially if the Guards took Kiburi's words over hers. Prince Moyo had gotten to her long before Kiburi had, clearly he was just painting a false narrative where he was the one who bested her, some portrayed villain in his story. She held her tongue as he continued to rant at her - there was no reasoning with his level of entitlement and stupidity. She watched him go, her fur smoothing and when he was out of earshot, she leaned back on her brother. "I wish you would've said something to him, Haha." She sighed. "Some lions only listen to other lions. What I can't understand is why he would be such the fool to admit that he would take matters into his own paws to enact his own version of justice. All that 'not what's necessary, but what's needed' makes me think he's surely got buzzards in his brain." She looked to Kemet. "The Guard will want to know if he's trying to act outside of the rules of the Pride, won't they? He said it himself, we all heard him." She said, glancing around for the confirmation in loved ones. "At any rate... yes, let's go see what all the fuss is really about." She said, and heaved herself to her paws. She made a point to avoid Kiburi - and Kijani, since he'd mentioned the lioness as an ally by name - and moved instead to go sit with Hamdan and Ikarta, an artisan and a scout. She'd often considered leaving her job as a huntress to become an artisan. She already had enough unusual ideas, surely someone was bound to find that entertaining. "Two heads?" She echoed Hamdan, sitting beside him and across from Ikarta. She raised her gaze to see if Kemet and Furaha were joining her, or if they'd gone to observe Prince Moyo from a closer vantage point. "Why stop at two - why not three or five?" She asked with a grin. "Our queen is so miraculous, I'm sure she could manage such a wonder." Turning to Ikarta, she chuckled a little. "While his colors would do them some good, I'd worry for the loss of artistry we'd be without in the pride. Tell you what, Hamdan, if the King comes out roaring your name, Ikarta and I can provide a distraction while you run off." She suggested and then leaned in and dropped her voice. "Speaking of running off... I just had a very peculiar encounter." She said and looked at them expectantly, hoping to be asked about it. irishgirl1017 Kicheko ending the interaction between her and Kiburi. linnyboowho Kicheko chatting briefly with Furaha. Ikarta giggled at Kicheko's and Hamdan's remarks, a paw coming up to cover her muzzle a moment. When Kicheko leaned in and mentioned she had an interesting encounter, Ikartas ears perks forward and he crossed her paws. "Oh? You mean all that yelling I think everyone in the Pridelands could hear? What was that about anyway?" She asked, her head tilting, she knew Kiburi, for as good looking as he was, was as she would put it, a grumpy warthog and he was the one being loud. However she couldn't tell what they were saying form where she was, only that the Prince and the others needed her and she was focused on what was in front of her. She is distractable and was trying her best to stay on the task at paw.

Estelle listened to Zuri and then she nodded and answered, "I'll talk to the other hunters and work with them to organize the smaller groups." She was a bit nervous about talking to Lady Wema so she was glad that Zuri was willing to do it instead. They had a lot of work to do she was glad others in the pride had listened to her and were willing to work towards fixing the problems rather than blaming the nobles like Lady Wema. She still thought it was foolish to have expected her to figure out this mess and Estelle felt foolish for not noticing the problem sooner perhaps they could have avoided this panic.

Zuri nodded to the other lioness, and left her to her business as she went to inform Lady Wema that the problem was being taken care of. She hoped that the information would lessen her worries and give her a small amount of relief. She approached carefully so as not to disturb the others who had gathered around and spoke quietly to Wema. "We have gathered hunters and are splitting them into smaller groups and assigning each group a beast to hunt so things are getting more organized and should go smoother." She listened for any signs of updates from the king or queen, and stayed with Wema for a while, keeping any eye out for Estelle as well to see her progress with the hunters.

As Ikarta joined them, Hamdan moved ever so slightly to include her in their circle, his tail giving a greeting flick. “Ah you’re quite right, go big or go home. With five heads they could be a marvellous one-lion choir.” Another rumbling chuckle rolled through him. “My saviours,” he lifted a paw to his chest, his voice playfully lilting, “I commend your dedication to our friendship and shall endeavour to repay you by escaping to some far off kingdom in search of more queens to befriend. Please take care of my royal progeny in my absence, and though I know you’ll miss my delightful entertainment, know that it’s for the best.”A few mini Hamdan’s wasn’t a bad idea, as long as he didn’t have to look after them. And perhaps without the danger of a royal affair. Again his gaze brightened considerably at the prospect of even more gossip and he leaned in eagerly. “Do tell. I love hearing about peculiar encounters and I came too late to witness anything interesting myself.”

Prince Moyo waited and listened patiently to the ideas and plans being made around him. He was a student after all, and he was quite keen on learning how the pride best operated. His intense gaze shifted from the hunters and Ikarta as they spoke of breaking off into smaller groups, and he found himself nodding at the idea. Yes, that should certainly help with the spooked herds of prey beasts. His whole body seemed to relax when they came to a conclusion in their planning, and the moving parts of the plan came into fruition. "That's a good plan," he commented to Estelle and Zuri, as Ikarta seemed to have excused herself.
The prince then turned his attention to the guards, happy to have another of the rank show up for the little meeting. "Getting the guard shifts straightened out is certainly a priority," he mentioned with a slight nod to Brunivald's large yawn. "It sounds like we need to find the other guards and send them off towards the west, while Brunivald gets some rest to prepare for tonight's guard shift. I can send word throughout the pride to have the message delivered to them, so no need to go off an find them. In the mean time, let's check around pride rock and make sure tempers have cooled and there's nothing that needs our immediate attention." Hungry, tired lions could make some pretty hairy situations, and prince Moyo was keen to ensure everyone had settled down now that plans were being made to correct everything that had occurred.Brunivald was a large lion, bulky and muscular, and typically carried an air of quiet confidence. However, it was taking everything he had just to keep his eyes and ears focused on the conversation with the prince. When Moyo mentioned taking a nap before the night's guard shift Brunivald was all too happy to agree. "I'll drink to that. I'd like to be keen and sharp for the night guard." At least he didn't have any young cubs in the den anymore, and he briefly wondered if he could convince Mwali, his mate, to snuggle up for a nap. He knew she might need to help the other hunters with their efforts, but the thought of snoozing with his warm sunrise of a mate was a very inviting thought.
His eyes were half-lidded when he realized the prince had given them an order and Brunivald snorted in tired amusement. Ah, yes. Probably a good idea to check on the pride before he slept like a stone. "It will be done," Brunivald rumbled as he stood to stretch his back and scratch his claws into the rock. "I'll start on the left," he nodded to Potopoto, glad that at least one other guard was present to share the load.Lady Wema gave a weak, tired smile to Kijani, pleased to have the other female's presence at her side. It was strange to be called queen, even if she was just the acting queen in her brother's absence, as it was a position Wema had never thought she'd need to take. Her brother was such a big and strong lion, and queen Laini was no push-over herself! That lioness was certainly the biggest Wema had ever seen, with the personality of an angry hippo to boot if you got her angry. Yes, they were much more suited to running the pride than she was, and Wema was all too eager to hand over control back to the ruling couple. She glanced around at her surroundings, taking in the slowly calming pride. She was so proud of her nephew! With Daaruk flanking them, she was certain they would be able to make it the royal den without much fuss. Before she could give the word to proceed, she was approached by the huntress Zuri and the news brought her no small amount of joy. "I am very pleased to hear that, Zuri! Everyone seems to have pulled together quite nicely, and I appreciate everyone's efforts," she offered another tired smile, though it was a genuine one. "If you'll excuse me, I must retire to the den. I fear today's events may have been all I can take for now," she said gently as she leaned into Kijani and prepared to move. "Kijani dear, could you help me to the den please?" She hoped she wasn't suspicious, but she really needed to check on the king and queen, and she didn't want the whole pride getting wind of her intentions. At least not until she was certain they were okay.

She watched as Lady Wema was helped into the den by Kijani. Satisfied that she had fulfilled her task, Zuri returned to the hunters to help with organizing the hunting parties. She worked with Estelle to coordinate which group would go where. After they were done assigning which group would hunt which prey, Zuri spoke with Estelle again. "I want to lead a party as well, but I also want to see what happens here with the king and queen. I'm concerned and curious as to why they have been isolated. Once I know all is well, I will head out."
