Description: I identify as ace and don't usually make sexy avis, so to prepare for this theme, I did some research on boudoir photography (RIP search history) to try and figure out what direction to take this entry Boudoir photography is an intimate art form that is all about (typically) women empowering themselves by connecting with and expressing their sexuality A 'boudoir' was, historically, a woman's private room (the word comes from the French for 'sulking-place' LMAO) Given Maeve's signature pouting lips, I thought it best to have her boudoir photo in an actual boudoir (Bonus: peep the boudoir-esque painting on the wall in the background!)
Based on her hair and eye colour, I have always headcanoned Maeve having some Celtic ancestry As such, I wanted her to reference an aspect of Celtic mythology--a selkie (a seductive woman of the sea who could not return to her home in the ocean without her seal skin pelt, which was usually kept hidden by her human lover) In this case, Maeve still dons her fur stole, intending to offer it to her lover Instead of using fishnets or other mesh netting to represent the sea-origin of the selkie, I opted to depict Maeve wrapped in silk ribbons This artful tying of silk ropes is the Japanese erotic act of 'shibari' and not-so-subtly hints at Maeve's plans for her Valentine's date with her lover
Maeve wears a strappy bra and leather collar as an homage to her typical edgier fashion style As for makeup, she opts for a smokey eye look and a careful blush This sultry photograph incorporates deep sensual colours (crimson, brick red, black) and vignette lighting filters to create a darker and more cinematic atmosphere She accessorizes with a hair bow to suggest that Maeve herself is a gift for her lover, as much as her boudoir photoshoot is ♥

For this challenge I have taken Priya into a deep, dark romance. Adventuring into the look of romantic goth. Specifically blending the fashion with the lingerie. Ruffles, lace, chains, and other embellishments are the highlight of the fashion as it dips into Victorian-inspired attire and often what we depict vampires might wear.
We embrace Priya with deep reds and blacks. While creating an enchanting atmosphere with a soft fog, candles, and roses. Setting the mood for this dark temptress.
I went through so many options of corsets, bustles, bustiers, and leg poses to find the one that made her both beautiful and enticing for this boudoir shoot. The biggest struggle was the right combo of undergarments, bustier, and corset, plus the legs. This allowed me to give a unique appearance to the lingerie. While also trying to balance the reds and blacks properly. The other challenge was taking her soft sweet expression and building on that to be more excited for her partner's return.

Description:
For this theme, it's been particularly a struggle as I'm an asexual. As I'm thinking about what sort of boudoir concept would fit Imani, I wanted to stay true to her outgoing personality yet showing a side of her that's only for her loved one! So for this, I knew I wanted to create an outdoor boudoir look for her. I was inspired by the famous Naiads of classical Greek mythology.
For her photoshoot colours, I chose soft pinks with white and brown elements. It's meant to be a definite contrast from the previous entries (bright vivacious colours!). I wanted to keep the vibe of a Valentine night, something intimate that Imani choses to show privately her sentimental side. Her outfit also reflects this. She's wearing a simple yet elegant pink slip dress, just enough to show. Just a little light makeup and earrings; a little soft shine to her dark hair to match her translucent slip. I thought it was important to highlight Imani as a purer classy look, a subtle tease.
Imani's outdoorsy side is reflected with the waterfalls background. She's not shy to model out there! Her look is meant to flow seamlessly like the waters, like a classical Naiad of satin. To frame the scene, a heart springs from below like a burst from the streams...
Overall, this boudoir photoshoot isn't just to entice the viewer with sex appeal. Whoever Imani fancies, I think they're a lucky person! Because unlike the rest of the world, this intimate side of Imani is theirs to behold even beyond Valentines. But it's always nice to have a snapshot to commemorate!

About this Look: When talking with Zanna, we wondered how we wanted to portray something beautiful and sultry without going overboard - while beauty and sexiness is one thing, confidence with modesty can also be a way to show off and give appeal. The room we modeled after something that exists in one of Zanna's favorite books - a library overlooking the lord of the manor's estate, plenty of natural flora and faux drapes that can create small spaces for privacy where the lord and his lady can sneak moments of privacy. I added the song into the caption, as I wanted to invoke a bit of the vibe, and I hope you give it a listen (I'm also a big Purity Ring fan teehee).
We wanted a look that captured a Zanna's figure, using the Sincere Ashes top as a pushup bra to encapsulate her bust without letting her spill out or pushing too forward. Using the fabrics from Zenly Yours and Gardealle's florals, the look is inspired on the look of a dryad in modern times. Zanna admired the straps that each piece had in them, layering the items to draw the eye. We captured this perfectly I think with the Zen Coat (why its a coat, I don't know), with its opening at the perfect place to peek and reveal her garter that while it doesn't connect to anything, draws the eye further down and elongates her legs to look more appealing.
While figuring out the outfit for Zanna, I learned that she and her partner have been together for two years now! They met while in college, having run in a few of the same circles. Her partners favorite colors are reds and pinks, so it made a bit of double sense to use valentines day colors in the same note for the outfit. It may come off as cheeky or a touch on the nose - but Zanna is a huge fan of Valentines Day and wanted to make something sweet for her love.
My drawback is the face - I wanted to keep her face neutral and doe eyed, encapsulating some innocence to match the pink tones and softness. It makes something playful, but I feel like I could have done something better, but I worry very much that I'd go overboard and I don't want to cross a line to lose points. So I went for something else, using more flowers for the dryad, and a touch of blush on the nose to create some shine.

The lewk: So for this one I was a bit daunted to start off. Jolene's face is cute, but I feel it's almost too sweet or innocent almost to be sexy and seductive. But her advantage is that she already has her tongue out, so she's cheeky. For that reason I decided to go with a somewhat cutesy coquettish look, presenting more passively flirty than taking the lead. I did know, immediately, which background I wanted to use though.
Jolene is going for a vintage babydoll look that she thrifted. She paired the babydoll with just a simple pair of white panties to not steal the show. She had a lot of trouble trying to find a hair accessory that she felt would match, but finally went with her fluffy headband to round out the flirty but cozy vibe. She applied a temporary belly tattoo to send the message that she might be a good girl but sometimes even good girls have naughty intentions....maybe. redface
Challenge #3: ♥ XO Baby ♥ Designer: Moth Model: Kimber
The Look:
Kimber is a stunning model, her natural facial expression already gives "bedroom eyes", and her hair is perfect for a Valentine's theme! I didn't want to play into the fiery reds of passion tho, so I decided to lean into the softer side of seduction. Gentle pinks, innocent whites, sheer fishnets. The rope swing with the slightly deeper pink blanket, I felt, was a nice contrast to all the softer colors, and I really wanted to stay away from any bed themed items, as I felt personally that those items would be a bit overused.
This may sound funny, but I imagine Kimber being a Scorpio, so for inspiration I listened to "Scorpio by TROY" (If you kow EPIC, you know our boy Hermes~) I couldn't finish off the look without adding a bit of sparkly makeup to Kimbers already dreamy eyes, and I was very lucky to find some eye makeup that matched her natural eye shape! We waited until the sun started to dip beyond the horizon, as the soft pinks hues filled the sky, and thats when we took the shot. Kimber is ready to really WOW her significant other with this soft yet seductive look!

I decided not to do an equip list this time, as well as experiment a bit more with layering certain clothing items together. About: Cressida's big, wide eyes and soft smile make her a fun model to work with, but she doesn't exactly read as "sexy." I initially toyed around with leaning into the fairy look as a callback to my audition entry, but then I stumbled onto the Graceful Repose legs. The simple elegance of the draped fabric seemed so refined and yet so romantic that I instantly changed my approach.
Art Nouveau has always stood out to me as one of the most gorgeous movements in modern art. The subdued colors, graceful poses, and ethereal beauty of Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec have inspired many of my personal avatar designs and quite literally decorate my walls. I decided to lean into many of those design elements by crafting a clean, simple look that focused on the many drapes and folds of fabric. I am particularly happy with the combination of Graceful Repose and Anuket's Palace, which gives the impression of Cressida sitting up in anticipation on her chaise lounge, the fabric pooling and curling around her. The look is elegant but sexy, leaving the viewer to imagine the contours of the body underneath.
As for the background, I went for something clean and bright. I spent quite a bit of time playing around with layering to get just the right shade for the curtains. The window adds a touch of light without pulling focus, and the single filter softens the edges just enough to give the entire look a delicate softness.

Challenge #3: ♥ XO Baby ♥ Designer: NaturallyPragmaticChimera Model: Arden Outfit Title: Playing Cupid Status: Complete
Description: Valentine's day is coming around, but once again Arden will be spending the day with family. Arden has been playing matchmaker, putting friends before potential boyfriends, helping her friends find love. She puts on the act of a happy independent woman but deep down inside, she has been yearning for love of her own. That's not to say that nobody has shown interest in her, but she's looking for more than just a crush- like her name suggests, Arden wants an ardent, passionate love; someone whose feelings are as strong as hers, somebody who will be her lover and her best friend. Some of her friends have already found true love; her first friend from elementary school has been going strong with her girlfriend for several years, and her closest friend from high school just got engaged on Valentine's day this year and they're already planning for their future children. Yet Arden still dresses to the nines- or maybe cloud nines- because she loves fashion and likes to feel beautiful, whether she's in a relationship or still single.
For this look, I started with a sexy, frilly red and white dress with a bust-enhancing top and a ruffled coordinating underskirt; I wanted a look that was both sensual and angelic to match the feathery wings. Since I chose a cupid theme, I found an armmod with a bow and arrow that also matches Arden's lovely reddish-brown hair and matching buckled archer gloves with sexy mesh. For the shoes and tights, I found shoes with tights that matched the dress and looked sexy but practical enough for an archer to wear. I added coordinating gold earrings and hair ornaments with lovely ivory and rose headwings to add to the angelic aesthetic, a sexy choker, and a touch of rosy blush. For the background, I wanted something sparkly so I chose a night sky behind an angelic cathedral window (or perhaps a temple to Eros/Cupid), and a few extra sparkles since it looked a little too plain without them.
Note: I do usually try to finish my looks earlier than this, I've been sidetracked with other stuff this week- half on me, half because I was busy. Don't have a boyfriend yet but there's this one guy who totally definitely likes me (he's just a bit young rn) but I don't know him that well yet but have been taking to him sometimes and yeah, it's distracting. Next challenge I'll try to cut back on reading webcomics until I get my look out since I still have plenty of free time.
Note 2: backward pose looked cute but not quite as sexy and the sitting pose didn't make sense, so I just chose one pose this time.
Challenge #3: ♥ XO Baby ♥ Designer: torimani Model: Harper
Description:
Look familiar? She’s embodying the spirit of the one and only Marilyn Monroe, the ultimate sex symbol! I was trying different colors for the outfit like crimson red, black, and purple, but then I realized that she actually looks a lot like Marilyn! didn’t want to do a full on cosplay of her, just to make Harper feel like a traditionally classic beauty. The white/peach and pink with the gold accents really accentuate this, because I didn’t want to make it look too flashy. I also didn’t want to do a black and white background as I originally planned, because it clashed with the outfit colors and drowned it out, so I chose to do a pink city background since Marilyn was a city-bound Hollywood star! I also chose roses as part of the background to obscure the bench in the background and make the scene more romantic. I also made it look like she is resting her arm on the flower stand in the background for an immersive effect! I chose different makeup for Harper this time to accentuate rosy cheeks and sexy eyes to go along with the background. I also chose to show all of the poses this time, since the back of her dress looks angelic and classic, and sitting down she looks very sexy! Overall I’m extremely happy with this look, Harper looks downright gorgeous and definitely reminds me of Old Hollywood/Classic Playboy magazine vibes mixed with a modern touch!

The Goddess Within
A newborn Venus has arrived on Earth. Emerging from her shell, she bares her beauty to the world. gaia_star
We're once again leaning into some art history for this week's challenge, with Pearl starring in a sensual boudoir rendition of one of the most famous paintings in the world: Botticelli's Birth of Venus. This Renaissance painting was controversial for its time in its depiction of female nudity and "pagan" subject matter; during this period, female nudity in Western art often carried a moral undertone, typically appearing in biblical works emphasizing the shame associated with the sin of Eve. Rather than depicting nudity as something shameful, Botticelli's vision of the goddess of love instead celebrates the beauty of the naked body, with Venus herself standing confident in her undressed form.
In this look, Pearl comes out of her shell (literally and figuratively) in a sheer lingerie top, teasing what's underneath without revealing all. Long strands of pearls double as a necklace and body chain of sorts, drawing the viewer's eye downward and across Pearl's mostly-bare torso. A flowing length of tulle covers her bottom half, conjuring the image of Botticelli's Venus covering herself with her long strawberry blonde hair--another similarity that Pearl shares with the master work. Her makeup look is soft yet sensual, combining flushed pinks with a glittery smoky eye for that bedroom smolder, with a touch of shimmery highlighter and hair glitter to give an overall "pearly" effect.
For the scene, I tried to recreate details of the painting as closely as possible with the items available to us. Roses are strung up on set to emulate the flowers blown in on Zephyr's breeze that carries Venus to shore, and hints of greenery frame the coastline in the background. Finding the giant clamshell is what inspired me to create this look, as while it is a fixture of the original painting, it also adds a bit of cheeky innuendo in a boudoir context. (Plus, when you open a clam, what might you find? ...A Pearl!)

This is a tough one to write. I have a lot of feelings about my body and how it looks. I always wanted someone to come into my life and make me feel good enough. To make me feel pretty and sexy. Because on my own that wasn't easy. I'm not a model, I don't have ideal proportions, I'm a real and physically flawed person. I'm fat and short and I use to hate how I looked because I was sure If I just could change one or two things about my body I would feel confident. Super restrictive values from my upbringing didn't help. I never saw normal women naked or in lingerie it was dirty and shameful and the only good nudity was in paintings where it was depicted as non sexually as possible.
From both the world of media where my body was unappealing and my cultural background where the female body was shameful at best I was told you shouldn't be confident naked. You shouldn't be confident at all.
Designers, you made this a very hard week to judge because we were blown away by so many of your looks! One of the judges gave out multiple perfect scores! You've set the bars high for yourselves this next week. This challenge will be an important one to focus on the finer details to make sure your look doesn't blend in too much with the others. Also really liked the creative choices taken, and the gothic vibe compared to the other entries. • The bangs paid off this challenge, just want to advise you be careful of other hair mods in the future. Make sure, like this time, we can always see the base hair.
wishflower — Maeve • The idea of the selkie as AMAZING, the judges were all for that and loved the details you put in the description! • It was a little dark. If you had leaned into the selkie inspo a little bit more and used blues and emeralds I think it would have been a very beneficial thing for the look and Maeve.

It is kind of dark? Low? We couldn't quite put our fingers on it, but it is weird and almost distorts the base features.
Kr-E — Priya • The judges really liked the dark temptress theme you went for, it is flattering on Priya and you were very smart with the lingerie. • It is too dark, too much smoke filter and Priya blending into things, made it hard to really see the details.

Cute, great colors on Imani, this was another gorgeous look on a week with a lot of them! • The outfit pools oddly around the middle, maybe it was an interaction with the filter? The filter is a cute vibe but is right on the border of too much too.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kimber • Kimber looks great, and we loooove the pose you chose! • The colors felt mismatched, and we really encourage you to explore darker, and more vibrant colors moving forward.

For this week's challenge, I opted to make a high fashion goth--without taking inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld's haute goth Despite his influence on the Chanel brand, I do not want to endorse this man because he supported the use of fur in fashion, he fat-shamed women, and dismissed the #MeToo movement
I had made several different looks for this challenge before deciding on this one The other iterations (which you may or may not have spotted earlier in the week) had strayed a bit too far into punk or contemporary fashion for my liking To hit the sweet spot of what I envisioned for this elevated couture look, I decided to combine trad goth with Victorian goth
The trad goth elements: knee high combat boots, leather mini skirt, fishnet accessories (stockings and sleeve), belts and straps (hanging suspenders), flat topped hat (although the feather does give it a touch of Victorian flair), and a chunky fang earring The Victorian goth elements: a high-collared blouse, a jacket with bustle/train (a dress that is cropped in the front of the torso only), a feathered headpiece (in this case: a hat), and witchy/occult influences (pentagram harness, skulls and bones)
Fun fact: I started this week's build by focusing on the hat! Before deciding on Coal Gunner Hat, these are some other hats I tried to use: Arachne's Merry Widow, Coal Black Trail Scout's Campaign Hat, Gunslinger I considered incorporating a veil to enhance the high-fashion aspect, but ultimately didn't use one because it seemed to skew the look too far towards bridal
Maeve wears classic goth dark smokey eye makeup--a combination of heavy winged eyeliner, lashes (with red tips!), and dark eyeshadow (even some under the eyes!) I wanted to keep this look true to the goth spirit by sticking to a monochrome scheme (specifically black and white--no offblack) There are small accents of romantic goth colours (red, purple, and pink) so it won't come across as a black-and-white photograph
As for the background, I created a setting for this goth photoshoot in a cathedral-type setting with skulls, bones, and other general bohemian witchiness I opted for a (mostly) light background to contrast with the black goth look (for visibility and also keeping in mind previous feedback re: dark backgrounds/lighting)

Challenge #4: Noire Obligatorie Designer: actualdeerooze Model: Zanna Status: Ready for the runway | Finished
About this Look: When I went into further research on how I wanted to dress Zanna this week I wanted to play both in the vintage feel that goth gives and drawing from the wealth of items that Gaia has to offer. The first thing I thought of was the original series of items with Eerie Omen; beautiful draped fabric that drapes itself on the waist down to the floor with such opulence it was actually one of my favorite items when first released. Fitting it onto Zanna felt like a dream with her soft round face, I didn't want to take that away so I focused on how to keep her face in frame while still properly stuffing the layers with each items.
I wanted to create something so luxurious - as if she stepped right off an Alexander McQueen runway and straight into her dark soiree with creatures of the night. The Alleycat boots were the first item I picked, in part for the shape and also how they elongate the legs. When I found out that the Vernal Equinox top tucked underneath the Edgy Midnight Corset it really started to build the outfit out. Layers of the thin materials with the underskirts all to be encapsulated with the Eerie Omen overskirt; there was some worry there its older I didn't want the items to clash poorly especially with the white accents, but I think with the accents and white jewelry it balances well.
With her makeup, I wanted to adhere within the rules so we had to forgo the rich white face layer and stay with something deeper and more stunning. With the deep shadow and the Dark Lady Unicorn shimmer dust giving her an all around glow, we choose accessories to bring a playful part to the chic look, tying the white accents on the torso and the bottom the the rounded Lahou sunglasses to help make her face smaller, playful and sweet and the Doll headpiece's draping ribbons cut and help create a new silhouette that draws the eye down the figure.
In the background I wanted to match with the colors in the outfit using both the depth of the reds in the corset and white accents across the whole body, and it was a little hard not to overlay other aspects on the background! But I wanted to adhere to the advice of the judges from last round and not over complicate the background and let Zanna shine.
