Oh, smart! Between V and a wall, you just know a hunter has to go through them to get to you!
You're feeling secure, safe. You can barely lift your pipe, but your meatshield seems to know how to handle theirs. Even if they fail to fight off a hunter, once you have an opening, you can at least make a run for it!
It's the perfect plan!
...And that's your final thought before an inky black claw, dripping like sludge, pierces you from the back and through to the other side of your chest.
That same black sludge begins to gush from your eyes, your nostrils, your mouth, your ears...Only when your screaming stops is your body fully pulled into the wall you had considered safe.
As your fellow group members fall like flies, you record each grisly scene. The shadows, the splattered wall, the dismembered limbs. You capture every scream, every terrified wail, every bone-chilling laugh and snarl.
You hadn't really counted on the fact you would have to make it out alive with the tape to get it to the authorities.
Stuck out in the woods with nothing to protect you but a camera... well, maybe if you say cheese he'll smile for the camera before he swings?

Oh, a fantastic plan! Everyone watch out of each other, make sure all blind spots are covered.
Which would help more if one of the hunters wasn't spectral. They can be quite hard to see at the best of times. And it's not the best of times. Not for you at least.
So you don't see when the hand plunges into your chest and around your heart. You do feel it though.
Once again, the plan of staying in a group is absolutely fantastic.
Moving as a unit, making sure you keep track of everyone, keeping the horny teenagers from sneaking off to go make out in an empty cabin because that is how they get killed...
You're so worried about keeping an eye on everyone that you forget to watch your step.
The gigantic worm that swallows up your leg when you accidentally step into it's hidden hole gives you no chance to escape.
Perhaps this is what it's like to be an earthworm? A thought you might have as you're pulled through the hole at the same time as the worm works on digesting your leg when it's still attached to your body.

You've been hiding for quite some time.
How long can you stay still, how long can you keep quiet? How long has it been? Minutes or hours?
Perhaps it's exhaustion, perhaps it's the anxiety from waiting. You shift your weight. And that was all the sound needed to give you away. You feel a sharp pain, then nothing.

What an excellent hiding spot! A convenient cabin with intact, lockable doors!
Yes, this cabin probably belongs to one of the hunters. Yes, it seems very obvious, but why would someone think to look inside their own home for their prey? It's quite an ingenious plan, and you find yourself feeling proud. Proud enough to sneak a taste of the freshly baked apple pie sitting on the counter!
Though, as the screams outside grow fewer and fewer, the anxiety in your belly begins to grow and twist into a knot.
In fact, you can almost feel your belly expanding. Fuller and fuller, bigger and bigger...
Say...do you smell apples?

The basement has been pretty safe so far.
Hiding in the dark of the basement, with only a flashlight as protection might not have been most people's first choice, but most people are dead, so you've obviously done better than they have!
But while that light begins to flicker and fade, you find yourself alone in the utter dark.
The darkness wraps you. Somehow tighter than you would expect? Then tighter, then tighter, then even tighter, then....
Perhaps your bravado managed to scare away the hunters?
You've stood your ground, fighting off any assault that might come your way. The screams of the fallen could be heard around you. Exhaustion starts taking it's toll. Still, you stand your ground, ready for anything.

Quite honestly, it's a miracle you've lasted this long.
I mean, really, it's a damned wonder that, as you stood in the middle of the field, that all the hunters simply sidestepped you, instead going after the rest of the group...
Unfortunately, eventually all good things have to come to an end as a chainsaw, flung in a fit of rage, hurtles right towards you.
You really thought you were going to make it, didn't you....
You don't see anyone else. Everything has fallen quiet. Are you really the last one alive? You lower the pipe, breathing heavy as relief flows through you. You can rest....except that's when the locker beside you opens and you discover you weren't alone after all...and they have a knife.
You really can't trust people in masks and hoodies, can you?
The survivor, masked and blooded from her single kill raises her arms and life flows back into limbs limp and twisted in death. Blood returned to the flesh as flesh is returned to the bone. Once more you all breathe.
"Well now, my darlings. I suppose you didn't see that twist coming, did you? To be honest, neither did I!"
The killer gives a bow. "I was just an honest player like the rest of you. But the Fog, you see. It needs a host to speak and it has chosen me as its vessel. Not to worry, when all is said and done, this lovely host will be released and with a consolation prize for being the very best at hiding! Oh, but that's not all, my darlings. For you have all given me such fine entertainment that I've decided to bring you all back for a chance at some prizes! Now then, first to reward my beautiful and most gracious host!"
A spooky phox trots out of the fog to stand by the killer's side. "And with that, let us see who else the Fog favors, shall we?"
