Nanami couldn't help the flood of warmth that filled her chest at the sight of her two youngest being so supportive of each other and happy. "Tidepools always have a lot of treasures, so I'm sure we'll get quite a bit." She agreed with Gin Ae, reaching out for his hand as she held onto Kailani with the other and walked together towards the tidepools. As they walked along the beach they would see ripples along the water, some of the vivid colors from the nearby coral reef reflecting in the distance as the tides pulled back for the moment. The tide pools were nestled along the upper area of the coast, the pools marking the beginning of an inlet that would go further into the island and Kahi territory. It was a fairly safe place and once they arrived, Nanami let go of her children's' hands so that they could fully explore.
"Just be careful of anything small with blue rings on their body and lots of legs." She warned them again, thinking of what small danger could exist out there though the chances of finding such an octopus was unlikely in the pools. "Don't touch that, okay? Other than that have fun!" Nanami smiled, walking forward herself so that she could be nearby to keep an eye on the younglings while they explored.

"That would be nice." Replied Kailani softly, her expression encouraging as she followed her brother and mother towards the tidepools. They also didn't know what DeeDee and Zoicite would bring back either. So she just hoped for a full treasure of findings when they finally met back up for their afternoon picnic. As they arrived at the tidepools, the girl gave a grateful squeeze of her mother's fingers before smiling at GinAe. "Ready?" She asked, looking around them and noticing that there was even a small waterfall cascading down from nearby cliffs that fed into the little outlet of pools and streams here. How pretty!

So far no paka'kona but that didn't stop Zoicite from enjoying the swim. He could only shake his head with amusement at DeeDee's swimming antics before darting after her in the water, his fingers also digging into the sand to see what he could find. Eventually he tugged at a rather large clam, the excitement bringing bubbles to his lips as he let out a happy yelp. Maybe it would have a really nice pearl inside! Zoicite kept looking around, hoping to find more while darting forward finally to wiggle the shell at DeeDee to taunt her into finding something else.

DeeDee looked over at the yelp, brow raised curiously. Hold on, he was having better luck?! Determined to not be shown up, she kicked closer to the sand for less subtle sifting. A couple pretty stones that might be worth keeping, but nothing really... Ah-ha! She stopped short to turn around and sweep the sand away from a small pouch. She inspected the pouch for any sign of a name or claiming, but it was just a simple cloth pouch. Something was definitely in it though! She tipped the bag over to dump the contents onto her open palm. A handkerchief, a couple coppers.. She let out a squeal of delight when a few gold coins fell into her waiting hand, and turned to stick her tongue out at her brother.

Gin Ae looked back at their makuahine with concern. Something with blue rings and lots of legs... okay. He would be sure to pay attention! He gave Nanami a firm nod of understanding, and guided Kailani over to the first pool. He gave a little hum of delight and pointed to the bright orange starfish relaxing in the little pool. This one had a delicate yellow fringe along each arm. That was certainly different from the ones in Matori!

Nanami found herself settling on a nearby rock, the Kawena tucking her legs beneath her body as she watched the younglings exploring the tide pool. It gave her a moment to survey the ocean, the Kahi looking out towards the direction that her other children had ventured. Will I need to go find them if they don't surface soon? She wondered, a mixture of amusement and worry dancing across her features. She had faith that they would be alright, but it was still an adjustment to being out like this in Kahi after all these years and she wasn't quite certain what adventures the whole family would find.
At least the tidepool was safe enough, right? Nanami's gaze drifted back towards the younglings and a small smile crossed her lips as she watched them playing around.

"Oh, wow!" Kailani gushed at the sight of the orange starfish the youngling clasping her hands together with delight. How pretty! Her gaze though drifted a bit further towards where she saw movement and the girl tilted her head with confusion. What was? "That's a big home to move." She whispered towards her sibling, the girl watching a snail with a giant spiral shell scuttling about in the distance. That was like one of those Oban manors that their mothers talked about whenever they visited the big city! The very thought made a giggle escape her lips, the youngling's gaze gleaming with amusement.

What? Zoicite's gaze widened when he saw what DeeDee was showing off. It looked like the treasure hunter gene was already showing in their family! The hybrid shook his head towards his sister, pocketing his own clam into the satchel that floated next to him, and then moved along. Despite his playful protest though there was a proud grin on his lips as he passed DeeDee and continued forward to look for something else....surely they had some time to find a larger haul, right? Even if he couldn't beat a pouch of coins at least he could gather some clams or pearls! That would count for something...
Zoicite gestured towards his sister, the boy kicking off towards a new area of reef to see whatever was lurking inside before they turned back towards the shore. A final chance to see whatever treasure they could find...

DeeDee giggled with delight as she tucked her prize into her gathering pouch. Their mothers would surely be pleased by what they had found! She dug around the immediate area with the hope of finding anything else associated with the found loot. Another couple coppers and a silver that must have fallen out at some point, but no more gold. Oh well.
She followed after her brother with an eager kick of her feet. As happy as she was with her findings, she couldn't wait to see what else was out there! She wasn't entirely certain that she wanted to follow the paths of her mothers, but she couldn't deny the spark was there.
As she eyes the reef, she grinned and reached out to ruffle her hand gently into a short but dense patch of sea grass. Dozens of tiny fish darted out from their disturbed cover and nipped harmlessly at DeeDee's arm. That tickled!

His gaze shifted to see what his sister was talking about. Oooh! His grin brightened as he leaned forward for a closer look. "They gotta be really strong to carry that." He looked a Kailani with a sudden smirk. "I'm your house," he announced as he reached over to gently grab Kailani's shoulder and pretended to try climbing onto her back.

Oh my. Nanami could only shake her head with amusement when she spotted Gin Ae's shenanigans with his sister. "Be careful to not slip!" She called out in a warning, the Kawena repositioning her legs just in case she had to move from her perch in a hurry. As it was their afternoon felt like it was already slipping away and she would have to go gather the oldest two soon enough. That way they could still have their picnic and wait for Noelani to join them as well so that they could watch the sunset together as a family.

"Eeep!" Kailani let out a squeak of surprise that turned into laughter at her brother's antics. "I don't think I'm stro-" She tried to shift so that she could actually pick him up but her foot slipped and she found herself splashing down into the tidepool instead. Thankfully the tumble only resulted in them hitting soft sand, but when Kailani emerged her wild curls were soaked and sticking to her skin in various ways with some seaweed sticking out and a lone starfish hanging onto her shoulder.
"I guess we'll have to rebuild..." She managed, blinking as she looked to see where Gin Ae might have gone after her tumble in the water.

So far Zoicite didn't find anything as amazing as a pouch of hidden treasure in the new reef, but he was enjoying seeing all the coral formations and the little fish living there. There were even some that looked like small dragons just clinging onto pieces of waving seaweed, their bright yellow and orange bodies just as striking as rest of the vivid coral around them. But then he happened to see movement to their right where large sea turtles were zipping along and an idea came to him....why not catch a ride?
A grin crossed his lips as he gestured towards DeeDee and motioned grabbing onto a turtle's shell. And then he was off swimming towards the nearest pair so that he could hitch a quick ride, preparing to go for a before letting go and trying to grab onto another.

The tiny fish were forgotten the moment her brother guided her attention to the turtles. DeeDee gasped with delight and hurried to follow suite. They were so beautiful! She noticed the one she approached glance her way, but it seemed unbothered by her presence. Encouraged, she grabbed hold and let herself be dragged along. She laughed with delight and stroked the turtle's shell a couple times. Then she simply let go and let the current carry her to the next turtle. This one was much larger, but just as unbothered as the first when DeeDee latched on. She laughed again and looked to see where her brother had ended up.

Gin Ae was giggling happily, careful to not fully lean on his sister. When Kailani's foot slipped though, Gin Ae's own balance was caught by surprise. He went down with a yelp face first into the sand. He yanked his head up with a gasp and spat out the sand that had gotten into his mouth. "Bleh!" Oh! His cheeks burned hot when he turned to check Kailani. "I'm sorry.." he murmured softly as he reached to pluck the starfish from Kailani's shoulder.
