Teiluj 12

Her shoulders sunk. She really didn't expect the children to listen to her. They didn't often, Lynx was far more menacing than she was with them. She bit her lower lip anxiously. It was taking the twins a bit too long to reach the surface of the water. They weren't returning. Calling back to Tao Teiluj kept a nervous eye on the place she had last seen her children.

Then Zybilna finally emerged. A sigh of relief to see she was okay, her eyes still scanned the water for signs of her son. Though her daughter didn't seem frantic, so he must be okay too.

"We should get going guys!" She shouted out to her family. "Tides coming in and there are dangers in the water at high tide"

Vaehaerys 12

He helped with the shell as much as he could, though his footing in the sand was slippery. When it finally came loose he watched to make sure Zybi made it up to the surface. Though his vision was limited by the stirred up dirt and sand.

It would be almost thirty seconds after his sister surfaced that he would also break from the water and take a breath. He shook his head as water dripped down into his eyes. By the time he heard his mother he turned to look at her and then glanced at his twin. "Come on before mom starts pacing."

As he made it back over to Tei and the shells the kids had brought in he started to wrap them up for travel. When he heard his mate mention high tide he glanced up to watche the water and study where it was. It would be coming in soon and with that came rip tides. Those were waters he hadn't taught the twins to swim in so he needed them out.

He gave a whistle and waved a hand at the children. "Your mother told you to come out of the water."

Zybilna 13

Still clinging to the shell Zybilna smiled at her brother when he finally appeared. Groaning at the words from her family, they were all telling her to return. A large part of her wanted to rebel. To return to the water just out of spite. Cringing when her father chimed in at the end. Fine, fine she'll go back to shore.

The youngling was unaware of the growing dangers of the incoming tide. Holding the larger abnormal shell in her hands Zybilna moved towards shore. Once she had a firm foothold on the sand under her feet, the youngling turned to show off her prize to her twin. "We found the best prize of all. Look." She held the object out to her brother so he could get a better look or take hold of the object if he wanted to. "Have you ever seen something so pretty?"

Teiluj 13

The mother of the twins was grateful when her counterpart chimed in to help direct their children back out of the water. Another reason she was so attracted to the man she loved. He was supportive, and validating with her feelings. Things she would never take for granted.

Sighing in relief, Teiluj watched the twins climb out of the water. And interesting shell in their hands. Realizing that was likely the reason they were ignoring her, Teiluj instantly forgave the impertinence of her children ignoring her calls to return. She too, would likely have gone after something like that at, at their age. Rubbing her hands together the monk approached her children and embraced them both in a hug.

"I'm so proud that you are both safe. And what a beautiful find. You've scared me you two, you were under there for so long. You're developing such strong swimming skills." Squeezing them tightly to her she closed her eyes, urging her pounding heart to settle.

Releasing them Teiluj looked at the shell. She had never seen anything quite like it. "May I have a look?" Teiluj held her hand out so she could inspect the shell. She was concerned that this could be dangerous to the children, and wanted to be sure that it would harm them first.

Vaehaerys 13

He continued to treat water as he watched Zybilna head for shore and keep a hold on the shell. When she was a good few feet away he took a breath and went under again, this time to head for shore. Swimming under the water was faster than trying to wade through the surface. So despite him waiting to follow his sister he reached the stable sands the same time she did.

Coming up he blew air out and shook his head again, though this time he did bring his hands up to wipe at his face and push his hair back. Once he could see again Vaehaerys looked at the shell that they had spent so much effort on getting. "It looks better out of the water." He agreed.

His attention turned to their mother when she came to give them a hug. A smile formed. "It's pretty, right?" He looked a bit proud of the shell his sister held.

He kept an eye on the kids and as they made it back to shore he watched Teiluj go to greet them. Of course they had another shell with them. Luckily he had room in the leaves for more so they could take it home. He slowly walked over to the waters edge and raised a brow at the twins. He loved that they had fun but he really needed to get them to mind when their mother called for them.

"Come on you two. Your mother has been trying to get you both out of the water for five minutes." He motioned for them before he smiled. "I guess that means five minutes less of story time before bed."

When Teiluj asked about the shell he let his eyes drop toward it. It certainly was different from the others.

Zybila 14

"Wait, what!?" Zybilna spun on her heals to face her father. Completely outraged that she was now loosing her precious story time. This was unfair. Stomping her foot angrily into the sand Zybilna complained against what she perceived to be an unfair punishment. When that failed to restore her lost story time, the youngling huffed indignantly. Turning her head away from her parents and beginning the walk home by herself.

Teiluj 14

Taking hold of the shell before Zybilna could react to her father's words. Teiluj watched Zybilnas tantrums for a moment then turned to her son. Gently shifting any loose strands that may still be in his face out of the way. "Come back when I call, I'm not doing it to be mean. But it is my responsibility to protect you."

Placing the shell in her sons hands Teiluj scooped him up into her arms. He was still small enough to carry for now, and who knows how long it would be before she could once again feel babies in her arms again.

Vaehaerys 14

When he heard what their dad said he snapped his head over to look at him, his mouth open in shock before he groaned. Of course Zybi threw a fit about it but that didn't seem to change things. As he was picked up he turned to look at his mom. With a frown he held onto the shell she'd put in his hands. "We wanted the shell."

His eyes moved over so that he could watch his sister continue on without them. "Do we really lose five minutes?"

Lynx 14

When his daughter threw a tantrum he only watched her silently with a brow raised at her. As she walked away, clearly upset, he sighed and shook his head. Though he did turn to look at Vae. "Mhm. It took you guys that long to listen so now we're five minutes behind on getting home, cleaning g your shells, and getting dinner ready." Which meant story time would be late.

He motioned for them to follow after Zybilna and smiled at Teiluj. "I'll clean the shells up while you cook dinner that way the kids can have them sooner." It would make things easier but it meant he wouldn't be able to help his mate in the kitchen.
