I tried some chocolate-covered matzah. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but it is.

It'd be better if it was a little more salty, though, like chocolate-covered pretzels.

it's a machlokis (disagreement) about whether matzag mixed with liquid after it's baked is chomitz or not. so the minhag b'yisroel (traditon of the jews, as a whole) is to follow what your father did.

by the way, cindy, there are plenty of seminaries and summer programs and such that you could go to israel for. it might be worth looking into.

Oh, I just read that when the sea split, it actually froze first and then it split. Did any of you guys hear things like that? The reasoning is that the torah uses the verb "Bak-oo", meaning "And they split". But in hebrew, there is a different verb for splitting solids and a different verb for splitting liquids or non-physical objects. The torah chose the word "Bak-oo" instead of "Pitz-el" to show us that it was a SOLID! surprised .

Cool, huh? 3nodding

yeah, the torah is saturated with stuff like that. so much can be learned just by grammar, conjugation, and choice of word, without even going outside 2-3 words.

that kind of stuff just can't be translated, and that, my friends, is why christianity fails.

It's also something they breed upon like rabbits. They use misstranselations to prove their "points". That is why we are instructed to be well learned so that we will know what to answer one of those blockheads.
