Marcus is caught with the first stomp, delaying him from getting fully vertical, then the second and third. By the fourth, he'd had enough, and looks to pop Avari with a quick uppercut to the jaw

The uppercut comes swift and catches Avari on the jaw, as he turns holding his face and staggers over towards the turnbuckle.

Marcus forces himself to a vertical base finally, but there is the slightest of hitches in his step. Can't say he didn't feel those stomps. But he's got to press through and so he walks after Avari, looking to catch him with a hard body blow to the ribs

Avari turns around and is caught with a hard body blow, knocking the wind out of him. He doubles over for a moment in pain, before breathing in deeply.

aiming to press his advantage, Marcus looks to grab Avari in a front facelock, then lift him up and over with a quick vertical suplex

The advantage was definitely pressed, as Marcus lifts Avari up and slams him down hard with a vertical suplex.
For what was meant to be a mid-card surprise match, this was defying all expectations so far, with both men straight in to the hard action!

Marcus elects to float over and go for the pin attempt to perhaps put his equally young Fusion counterpart away for the night

Marcus raises back on his knees following the kickout. The larger man gets to his feet, then reaches down to grab ahold of Avari. In his attempt to further keep the pressure on, Marcus would attempt to deadlift Avari off the mat and over his head into a military press, then slam him back to the canvas again

The smaller man is picked up easily and lifted in to the air.. the crowd all stand up, ready for a big move.
Avari is dropped hard on to the mat, taking a real beating as he moves on to his hands and knees in pain, the ref checking him over.

Marcus seems to be firmly in control, and he'd like to keep it that way. Spotting Avari moving to his hands and knees, he quickly attempts a straight boot to the side of his head

The boot connects as the crowd let out an audible gasp, with Avari instinctively rolling away clutching his head. He puts himself in one of the corners, his legs sprawled just under the bottom ropes.

Marcus advances again, and this is where he really takes a turn from what is expected from his family. Reaching down, he attempts a rather blatant one handed choke to Avari while he's down in the corner

There is nothing that Avari can do as the large hand of Marcus comes down on his throat, choking him out.
He squirms and stomps his legs around, his hands going around the wrist of Marcus.
The ref runs over, starting a quick count to five.

Marcus doesn't intend to get disqualified here, and even as the boos rain down, he's got a plan. He releases at 4, then looks to pull him out of the corner and simply fling him back towards the center of the ring
