Comments: While googling Yoshi’s Island, I realized that I briefly played this game years ago. I’ve played other Yoshi games and other games with Yoshi, but have little exp with this game.
This is based off google image screenshots of one (?) of the levels.
I started the sketch and knew a basic redraw wouldn’t fill 30 mins.
Enter: fake papercraft
Playing with all the layers and adding the extra shadows between the “paper” helps fill time. This is incomplete. It needs more paper shadows and such but it's likely all I'll do for this one. Had fun.

Comments: … I can’t believe I took 40 mins to draw this. Woof. My main goal was to fill time, but I can’t see where it all went
This has layers of plants. I had to add lines to some since they all blended together.
The weird pixie didn’t take too long
The drawing was larger. I cropped the edges off all around it right before saving the image.
I had bigger ideas for the glow. I wanted the pixie to light the surroundings. I started by adding the light bouncing off the plants. It looked so awful that I put no effort into the pixie glow
Sometimes art still works out when I have no plan and make it up as I go. This isn’t one of those times

I was going to draw a cat in a pencil costume. (I’m trying to be better at picking a prompt that will fill time.) I googled that idea and got dogs in crayon costumes. I figured, what the heck, I need practice drawing dogs anyway. In my defense, I thought this dog wasn’t cute so… the drawing shows how I felt. You can google the dog yourself. XD
The dog’s left front leg had the proper shape in my sketch but I made it chunky instead when I lined. Oops. XD;;

I, again, was done before 30 mins was up... so I fought so hard.. and continued to fight.. to fill time with one drawing. This originally had a solid blue background, then water pattern, then white bubbles, then bubbles on the outside... ...and I still had time left. @ .@ I was gonna add random flowers but went with the random lily pads.
And now my otter lacks a shadow on the water... maybe I'll tweak that for tomorrow. XD;

This top down cupcake (unsplash ref) was neat. This frosting style is so complex to draw but this angle and skillfully-piped frosting was relatively simple. (Ref is much clearer than my drawing)
It’s also cool how half the wrapper disappeared into the bg
I’ve been busy aaand a little under the weather. It’s kinda why I’ve been drawing the minimum. I’m still bleh so I’m gonna duck out again and not post in the main forum / respond to posts. I didn’t want to whine, but here I am.
The main reason is still that my ideas that I wanna draw have been simple. So I’m sure I’ll still draw quick stuff even when I’m feeling better
I also feel like this drawing is such a cop out. I’ve been trying to draw original stuff so straight up redrawing someone’s artsy photo is like cheating. They did the majority of the work by choosing the angle, colors, lighting, wrapper fade, etc. Sure I still had to draw… but they did the brunt of the decisions.
I didn’t have it in me today and used this crutch. If anything, at least this was good frosting practice. It was also neat to fill in some shadows and highlights and see it all manifest so quickly. I assumed it’d need a lot more rendering
This is still unfinished and there’s some wiggle room for me to play with colors if I want to. I guess I just need to whine today

Didn't have any good ideas.. phantom kept making me picture the Clefairy / Gengar thing (pokemon). And so I just.. went with that. Most of the time was spent on the wall

Struggled a bit on both of these. Had to scrap my first couple sketches or so… so that took up some of the time

I knew I had to draw multiple alpacas to fill the time. Turns out, I didn't finish so I prob would've filled time just fine
