"I'll be fine." Protested Ezili when she heard Ana's concern. "I'm really quick and so small that it'll be hard to grab me." She promised though there was a strange gleam in her gaze whenever she looked over the camp. If they were worried about someone tracking her then why not create a distraction? Her fingers curled tightly around the cool stone that she had picked up as she pondered their options. Zeri always used smoke and sparks....why not fire to create both?
"Can we just set the camp on fire? Won't that keep their attention while I run home?" It would make it super easy for her to find her way back as well. Who cared if the jerk faces lost their belongings? They had hurt her family after all!

"...Just don't put the stinking stuff on it." She knew enough about 'field medicine' to be wary of it and passed that same speculative look to her elder sister. The thought about Izzy going off on her own, though, made her worry. Whether it was for Ezili's safety or a knee jerk reaction to having her closest sibling leaving when she was so shaken up Zeri couldn't be sure.
"I can go with her! I'm still really fast." Not as fast as Izzy, but she could hustle! "And I'm really good with directions! I can remember which way to go or...What if we used the spark powder to make smaller fires? The smoke would be a straight line!"

The idea of drawing more attention to themselves after all of that almost made Nimia snap at Ezili. She could understand where the youngling was coming from, but at the same time it seemed incredibly risky. "Let's try the smaller fires before we set everything on fire." What if they caught the forest on fire by accident?
While the sisters hashed out the details among themselves, Nimia got to work on gathering the bandits. Her spiritual hand was brought out a few more times to help shift the bodies, but when her magic started to wane the Matorian resorted to dragging them. It was...practically pathetic after the effortless way the hand had easily hefted them. It kept her busy, though, and busy meant she couldn't worry!

"Just let me take care of Zeri first." Anahita relented after a moment, a sigh leaving her lips. "Smaller fires is the best option, so we aren't setting the whole forest ablaze." She agreed with the others before moving towards Zeri. "You can only go with her if you let me take care of this first. No protesting since we don't have enough time to banter." The teen advised, wincing slightly when she managed to tug Zeri's sleeve free of the bloody skin. Without wasting time, Anahita poured fresh water from her own canteen against the skin and quickly wiped it with a handkerchief. It wasn't her best work but it allowed her to clean off any grim and blood, her fingers applying pressure with one hand while she opened the ointment with another.
The creamy solution had a bitter smell to it, nothing too pungent thankfully and would hold the wound together until they could stitch it if necessary. Ana winced for her sister as she gingerly applied the ointment and then quickly wrapped it with bandages. "Just be careful, please." She whispered to the girls. "Do some sparks outside of camp but not too many on the way home since it could give someone else a trail to you." She warned before looking back to Nimia who was already gathering the bandits.
"I'm relying on you two. Nimia and I will greet the rangers when they get close, okay?"

As much as she enjoyed the idea of a huge inferno, Ezili relented to the group's idea. "Okay." She nodded, her gaze never leaving Zeri and Ana as the wound was taken care of. Even ghosty couldn't distract her as she was so worried about her partner in crime. She would never forgive that lady for hurting Zeri and Ezili knew that she would work hard in the future so that she could retaliate against any attack.
"Ready?" She finally asked as the bandages were applied, her expression determined as she watched Zeri. "We got this."

The last thing she wanted was for anyone to mess around with her arm, but if it meant she could go with Ezili then Zeri would bear it. She turned her head to the side, gritting her teeth as it was cleaned and trying her best to be braver than she felt in the moment. By the time it was all over Zeri was sniffling, and wiping at her nose with the back of her hand. The Grand Magus refused to cry, but it wouldn't be a stretch to say her eyes were watering.
"Here." Zeri dug around through her pack and pulled out a larger bundle to hand over to Nimia. "It's a big boom. If they come back throw it at them and set it on fire; just don't stand close." Taking a deep breath, she looked at Ezili and nodded. "Ready."

A big boom?! And she'd been running around with this in her bag? Raising her brows, Nimia took the sack into her arms and felt the weight of a giant lump of explosive powder.
She waited promptly a few seconds until Zeri was out of sight before setting it on the ground and using magic to soak it through with water. There was absolutely no way she was going to have that thing hanging around. Getting the camp together wouldn't be difficult so long as the bandits stayed unconscious, but it was the one that got away that worried her. Hopefully she'd run off instead of lying in wait for the girls...

Anahita was extremely nervous about letting her younger sisters leave the group, but at the same time she knew that they didn’t have many choices in this scenario. Another soft sigh left her lips as she turned her back, a silent prayer on her lips to whatever forest spirits were watching over them, and then as she approached Nimia the teen’s gaze was wary. “Thank you for helping.” She managed awkwardly as she surveyed the camp to make certain that nothing was missed in their cleanup of the bandits. After cleaning Zeri’s wound and bandaging it up Anahita had immediately grabbed her bow again so that she was prepared in case of another attack.
“I know that I worried you by coming out here alone and I’m sorry.” She finally admitted after another moment, the teen’s cheeks darkening as she continued. “I just don’t like the idea of anyone being in danger because of me. I guess the same feeling goes in reverse though….I’ll try to be more open. Maybe not with the hellions just yet but at least with you.” Anahita took a deep breath. “As it is we should make sure everything is set. I think I already see some smoke.” Her teal gaze swept over the camp once more before she prepared to walk towards the edge where they would hopefully meet with some rangers soon. Even if things hadn’t gone exactly to her original plan at least they had made it out of this mess. Next time though…well there would be no next time would there? Anahita wasn’t about to let her younger siblings get hurt by her missions ever again, especially not when this one had been so close to going so horribly wrong. For now though she had to keep focus because the battle was not completely over with just yet.

Ezili made certain to keep an eye on Zeri as they started moving through the forest. Even though she had appeared excited and more intent upon setting the whole forest ablaze the girl was honestly scared. She wasn’t certain where the one bandit was and the last thing she ever wanted to see was an arrow flying towards Zeri. If she hadn’t been swinging like that then maybe she would have gotten to block it or something? As impossible as the thought was, Ezili liked to imagine that she could react quickly enough to catch an arrow one day.
For now though she just had to focus on getting back home with Zeri. “Almost there.” Just a few more sparks of fire and then surely enough they would see their village and grab the first ranger that they saw. She was not about to let the older girls stay out there all alone and have the fun to themselves!

Now that the little ones were gone Nimia could really look at Anahita. The night wore heavy on all of them so she tried to take that into account, but that only went so far when one was still in their teens. "You're welcome." Now that their prisoners were properly taken care of Nimia started to move around the camp to start up a fire of their own. Without magic it took a little effort, but she welcomed the distraction from the awkward conversation.
"I get it; I know you don't think I do, but I get it. I'm an older sister too." Fiadah might have been the more adventurous of the two, but it was Nimia who helped to look after her when Fiadah got in over her head. "If you...can't trust anyone in your family to have your back when you go out then maybe another recruit? Find a friend and make a partner out of them." If she was really that worried about her younger siblings getting dragged into things then Ana should at least have someone at her back.

Every hoot and flap of wings caused Zerynthia to jump. She watched the shadows like they would blink back at her. What if that bandit came back for her? She'd managed to get away once so why wouldn't she be able to do it again? Uncle Berio will find her. And if he didn't then Papa would. Zeri just had to have faith that they would and keep everyone safe until then!
She sprinted after Ezili and did her best to keep up. At firs she'd been too frightened to really start consistent fires, but after a while Zeri picked up a rhythm. Run for a while, start a small pyre, run a little more, pyre; she just had to keep going.
The worst was over and now they just had to keep it that way.
