A smack to his chin which caused the Lunar to stumble back and end up against the ring post, holding his jaw. Not exactly expecting that, but there wasn't much he was expecting either. He was after a goal... but he still was human, and the head getting jacked back didn't quite help matters.

The crowd popped along with GBL's jaw, Salem scrambling to close the distance before his opponent recovered to begin throwing furious forearms at the man's face while he was staggered! The referee had gotten to five, calling for six, but Salem didn't care! He was intent on making an emphatic statement at the expense of The Eclipse's skull!

Salem was either furious, desperate, or lost in his head with something... Either way, GBL was taking the toll with the shots but despite it all still having a grin on his face. He provoked this either way... it was all he was asking for. With one shot, GBL would fire one of his own to create enough room as he could still hear the ref's count. A shot meant to try and get back into the ring to at least stop the count, but he hadn't quite expect to escape the raging king.2

Salem thought he'd gotten the better of GBL until 'The Eclipse' shot back with a stiff fist, stunning Salem a moment while his opponent rolled into the ring to break the ref's count! But just as GBL got under the bottom rope, Salem reached across the canvas and grasped at the Moon Man by his hair, trying to pull his head back over the edge of the apron and club him to gain his compliance!

Well ... s**t. Caught by the head, he was dragged and clubbed on with not much option to do but cover his head to at least prevent some damage. Far from an ideal position and definitely not a way for him to pull a trick out considering the position.3

Salem struggled to pull GBL by his head to the edge of the apron, but he'd managed it, though the oft-accomplished veteran was fighting back! Trying to subdue The Eclipse as the ref restarted the count for Salem, the "Scoundrel King" would tug the bottom rope down and try to choke his opponent with it, a little payback from his earlier encounter with the planetary shadow!

Another bad situation with the ropes being used and the ref getting involved to start an additional count to break the choke while the Eclipse was trying to relieve the pressure, a struggle with his position not ideal.

Salem would only stop the choke when the referee mandated it, taking the full five count to strangle GBL and give him a taste of his own medicine! As he let go of the rope, however, Salem would throw a hard knee up to the back of his hanging head, intending to stun him a couple moments longer as the audience anticipated anxiously what would happen next!

The choking has stopped and gave him a chance for a breather. Not that it'd last as a knee came in contact with the back of his head having him roll to his stomach and grasping at the back of his head. A couple of kicks on the ring as he laid in place, cursing at himself for a moment... but yet laughing all the same.

The referee was ordering for Salem to return to the ring, but Croft waved him off, eager to instead take advantage of his situation and sprint for the nearest stairs, getting some momentum across the edge of the apron before hopping off as he kicked his legs, looking to connect the heel of one steel toed boot to the back of GBL's head once again with his own variation of the Scissor Kick, something the "Gypsy Savage" dubbed the 'Tomahawk Kick'!

If one shot wasn't enough, another came down on top of him before he could get himself up and in a better position. Struck down on the back of his head, the Eclipse seemed out as he laid across the ring and apron with his hands that had been once holding his head was now dangling off the front of the apron. A possible knock-out?

Salem signalled to his fans in the crowd as they popped for his signature maneuver, disregarding the referee barking numbers at him! Salem felt like a shark tasting blood in the water, he was feeling a frenzy coming on! With GBL's head hanging off the apron, Salem would apply a guillotine choke to the man, then roll into the ring while it was applied, looking to strangle and twist The Eclipse at the same time with his trademark submission, the Anaconda Coil, rolling back and forth across the mat with his prey like a croc in a death roll!

If it wasn't one thing, it was another. Trapped now in this guillotine along with the rolling around. Not only a choke applied, but the gator roll as well made things a little difficult to figure out where he was on limited time. Not to mention he had to shake off the cobwebs which getting jolted around kinda helped in that regards. Once a roll got him close enough, he would turn his body to get his let out to catch the rope with a foot. Salem was relentless... but was time still ticking?

Salem had the choke cinched in deep, a benefit of his amateur wrestling pedigree! He rolled hard, trying to twist his opponent's neck as he choked him out, but after a series of rolls the referee would move to shake Salem off of GBL, forcing "The Copperhead" to relinquish his submission! Letting off, Salem would get back to his feet and not bother to protest, instead trying to drop a Savage style elbow to the man's ribs!

Finally free from the hold and free from some torment, at least he thought so, he held a hand over his own neck with a couple of coughs. His resiliency would be a key factor at this stage which may be the reason why he could still grin a bit despite the beating he was suddenly taking. The man would get hit with the elbow with arms now crossed over his chest from the impact... yet pained laughs leaving him. He still found... enjoyment.
