She suddenly stops, as though sensing something in the air. Maybe it was just her nerves, she thought, but no, that wasn't right, there was definatly something out there. She tilts her head back slightly, cig still dangling between crimson lips, and breathes in the chill night air, the scent of another kat, possibly nearby, carried to her on a soft breeze that seems almost to caress her face. Exhaling slowly, she glances aloft to the trees around her, a smirk befalling her face as she removes the cigarette and holds it lightly between two toes of her paw and calling out in a sultry smoothe voice, like velvet.

"You can come down if you like, I won't attack you....unless you give me any reason too of course...."

She doesn't look at him, she just instinctivly knows where he was, possibly another gift bestowed on her by the potion? Probably...it made her look like a demon, therefore it probably gave her certain advantages in the sense area as well. Not a lot, but enough to know that she is being watched by a male of her kind....or at least of the kind that she used to be.
PostPosted: Tue May 09, 2006 5:25 pm

The male was listening, waiting and observing the female. The unusual light from the thing she was holding gave him cause for pausing on his nightly roam of the Woods. The trees shivered a warning before falling silent. The very air was tinged with a cold electricity that coursed through his veins and set him on edge. He was alert and minded every move she made. Though it appeared, to him, that she hadn't truly seen him just yet.

In seconds he'd made his way to her tree, appearing directly before her and with deft, nimble claws he'd removed the cigarette from her posession. His claws carefully around the butt end of the new object and his sharp eyes observing it with a scrutinizing gaze that could send a shiver up even the most brave of creatures spine. "What is this?" He asked simply. His amethyst eyes switching from it to her in a purely curious manner.

His tail remained unmoving, in fact, he wasn't moving at all. With the exception of his eyes and chest as he breathed. It was most unnerving, like a statue come to life. A gargoyle more likely. Strands of his blonde hair shifted across his face, joining the other side and shadowing his eyes a moment. The smoke filled his nostrils but he didn't sneeze. He actually found the scent pleasant. Amazing, the first time anything ever seemed pleasant to him.

She nearly jumped out of her skin when the male appeared in front of her the way he did, and her momentary shock would've made it quite easy for him to have taken the cigarette out of her grasp. However, she composed herself quickly, not wanting to give away her slight surprise, even though the wings on her head had shot up to a fully raised position, snapping open with a quick whooshing sound that made the fur on her body move as though caught in a quick breeze. Settling the wings back down slightly to a half poised position, she quickly let her eyes roam over this kat, her eyes narrowed and evaluting, her sudden lapse in sense giving way to a burning irratation that made her want to strangle the one standing in front of her. The swirls and symbols on her body glowed slightly, pulsating with her increased heartbeat in the faint light, reacting to her emotional state. Sucking in a sharp breath of cool night air, she speaks, trying not to sound too rude, but not quite pulling it off.

"It's called a cigarette...are you stupid or something?"

She glowered at him, one paw moving to her hip as the other gestured to the stick of paper and glowing cherry grasped in the males paws. She observed him closely, her senses warning her to proceed with some degree of tact, in case this one were unstable in anyway. She had met many unstable one's in her time already, and it was always a good idea to be ready just in case....

Rage sniffed at it once before looking up at her with narrowed eyes. Was she trying to insult him? Or trying to make conversation? "No, why? Are you?" He inquired calmly. Touching the cherry end to one of his paw-pads and merely watching as it began to fade out. It hurt, but not enough for him to pull it away. Looking up at her and removing the cigarette from his paw he held it out for her to take. Not really understanding the purpose of such a thing. Maybe to stick in someones eye and blind them but other than that it was a useless piece of paper caught oddly on fire at one end. Whoopie.

Shifting his gaze from her, which had been a pretty odd gaze at that, to the forest he seemed a little distant for a minute or two. His ears shifting, as though he'd heard something. Like someone had called to him. He wouldn't be surprised if it was his adopted mother. Ever since she'd disappeared he thought he heard her calling. All though it only seemed to be at night. Who knew with that freak. His amethyst gaze slowly rolled back to the curious looking female before him. Watching as she glowed softly before settling down. What was she? Who knew, most likely some kind of exotic thing he'd never heard of. Not that he really cared for exotics. Not that he really cared for anything to tell the truth.

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched him put the cigarette out on his paw pad, wondering what could be in his mind to do such a strange thing. Her tail lashed behind her in an odd kind of wonderment as she studied this creature standing before her. He reminded her oddly of Johnny, when she had first met him. He had acted detached like this as well. She chose not to answer his comment about whether or not she was intelligent, and instead chose to openly stare at him, thinking of what she could possibly say to get him to stick around. He intrigued her in a way that no other kat had done in quite some time. Reaching out, she took the now smoldering cig away from him and flicked it just as quickly to the forest floor with a small sigh of regret. What a waste that was. She turned her gaze with his when he looked off into the forest, and she was still looking that way when he looked back at her...but she could feel him looking at her. She hated the way everyone seemed to look at her. It just prooved that even the unstable ones in the world thought there was something odd about her, and she didn't like it, not one itty bitty bit. Looking back at him sharply, her wings settling back down in the tight folded position on the top of her head, and her ears twitching slightly in irratation, she frowns at him and says simply.

"What?"

She doesn't say it in a snarky way, or even like she's angry. just a simple word said in a simple way, straight to the point and not wanting any BS.

Deranged had his gaze almost locked on her, sure, he was looking at her to see what she looked like. He did that with everyone. But he gave less than two shits if she looked like a regular Baddie or if she was deformed. In his mind everyone looked about the same. When she questioned him he had been staring at the tree, just over her shoulder so it might just have looked as though he'd been staring at an ear or the shoulder itself. His eyes slowly slid to hers and with a raised brow and an unusual smoldering look in his amethyst eyes he exhaled quietly, his mouth shut comfortably. Not choosing that moment to speak and instead waiting a minute or two. His right ear flicked once before resettling, other-wise, aside from the normal rise and fall of his chest, he was stock still.

"What do you mean what?" He asked, his voice calm though prying, as though he hadn't the faintest idea what her problem was. His eyes had followed the small speck of white as she flicked the cigarette off into the forest. Watching it until the color had completely vanished, almost rolling his eyes back to her, his lips parted slightly. "Was I supposed to be shocked?" The way he said it was emotionless, his speciality was apathy after all and he was good at showing nothing. When, in reality, that was mostly what he felt lately. Nothing. Not a damn thing. Reaching a paw out suddenly, and still without a single shift in his expression, he removed a beetle from the tree. Black and almost the color of ink, it had been on a downward travel when he removed it. Letting the insect crawl over a paw he studied it briefly, lifting his eyes back to the female before him and raising that eyebrow once again.

She frowned yet more, deciding that possibly her quick evaluation of him had been wrong. So many people had treated her differently lately that she just came to expect it, and she was always on the defensive. Sighing, she decided she might as well tell him what bothered her, he at least seemed as though he might listen to her, even if he didn't care, it was nice to let somebody know what was eating her up.

"Nothing, I guess....I'm just used to being stared at is all, and I don't really enjoy it all that much. I thought you were just going to treat me like everyone else does, like some kindof freak....even though I'm far from it."

She watched him intently as he picked the beetle off the tree, slightly curious as to what he planned on doing with it, and muttered half to herself, and maybe half to him as well.

"I'm just sick of everything..."

Rage's right ear flickered towards her as she spoke, his eyes shifting off into the forest while she related her current situation and frustration. Though his eyes told the world he was distant he was still listening, he just had a funny way of doing it. A more aloof manner. When she'd finished he raised the paw which was the current platform for the beetle. Giving a quick upward jerk of his paw the beetle was sent aloft into the air, quickly he backhanded it off into the forest. Not hard enough to kill it, but hard enough to send it sailing. Giving a sigh, his lips parting slightly and his ears flatening he rolled his eyes towards her and the amethyst hue looked almost accusing. "Why do you give a ******** what others think?" He more stated than asked. He was almost side-glancing her.

The night was growing colder, the moon like a silver orb hanging high in the midnight sky, diamonds glittered across the expanse like frost. The treetops glowed softly. Though even if his eyes illuminated, they still smoldered. An old hate, frustration, anger. He wasn't quite stable, even if he was sane.. for now. His crimson pelt, spotted with vibrant, exotic green, looked a little dull. Malnutrition maybe, he hadn't been eating lately. But he didn't seem to notice, nor care. "Is there something other Kats have that gives them the right to define you? If you live your life like that your better off living in a cave deep in the forest." He snapped, he didn't care if he hurt her feelings. He said it like it was and mean't every word. Then again everything he said held that air of apathy. An empty feeling behind the meaningful words.

Luckily enough, she had heard to much and seen too much to have her feelings easily hurt, and she actually found his advice to be quite profound, giving her a clearer view of things. Here was somebody who didn't care about her, but more importantly, didn't even care that she was different. It was refreshing, and nice for somebody to say things to her face for a change instead of whispering behind her back as though she might bite there heads off otherwise...though the thought had crossed her mind now and then. Her gaze followed the beetle as it was sent flying past trees into the gloom, and then it returned to his. For the first time since she met him, she gave him a good study over. He was very unique, that was for sure, and though he was harsh, she really didn't mind.

"I don't know why i care, now that you mention it..."

She frowned, trying to phrase what was in her thoughts into words that whispered between her lips.

"I guess i just miss my friends, they were always there, by my side. I got used to the idea, and now that there gone i need to readjust my thinking, get back to my roots of not giving a s**t, and taking care of the only important person in my life-me. You really put things into perspective for me...."

She then stopped talking, and stood in silent thought. It really wasn't difficult, she just had to get back to being the miserable, harsh, relentless creature she was before she met her so-called 'friends'. the idea of it all appealed to her greatly, and her lips curled into a small evil looking smirk of satisfaction, now allowing herself to see clearly that her troubles were really not all that important, especially to others.

Deranged tilted his face to the sky, closing his eyes and inhaling slowly. Like he'd suddenly been struck with a lapse in breathing and was starved for air. But we was unsettlingly silent as he did so. Running his claws through his hair he allowed his face to fall foreward again, her speech registering in his mind on a level he wasn't familiar with. But he heard her, clear as a bell, he heard what she was saying. There wasn't a single thing wrong with his mental process in way of senses, hearing, sight, scent, touch, taste and all the other goodies he retained. No, there was just something unstable about how they all worked, united and individually.

"Friends are a poor investment." He replied calmly, his eyes shifting once more to her face, as though trying to remember something in vain. Friends, he didn't have the luxury nor the patience for friends. Friends, partners, lovers or even co-conspirators. He didn't often conspire, especially of late. Maybe in his younger years but not now. He'd forgotton what it felt like.. he'd forgotten what a lot of things felt like. It only seemed to be growing worse.

He flexed his claws, observing how they clicked when touched to one another, his eyes shifting up the regard her slowly. "Be careful when falling into my perspective, you just might find things even more clouded." But where there was a usual blank look or distant expression a devious smirk had taken his lips and curled them, he didn't look demonic, he wasn't a demon by breed, he simply looked a trifle dangerous or even, on the subtle side, demented? No, no.. it must have simply been the shadows. The shadows and the moonlight of course. Oh.. was he losing it? He felt like he was losing it. Losing his mind, his grip on reality. It was like a constant undertow. Tugging at his heels, pulling him down, down, down. Until he drowned in his own mind.

Inde watched Emi as she left, blinking back to the four little fuzz-balls on the floor. He felt a little uncomfortable at first, until he saw the big eyes of the little female with her bright orange pelt and vacant expression. Well, he supposed she was cute. With a face like that how could she not be? He chuckled under his breath and went on the the little male who'd plopped himself down on the floor. Were those piercings? At his age? Good grief there was trouble in the making. But Inde had a smug smirk on his face. Rather proud of his and Emiko's offspring. Then came the next female with the star on her forehead looking like she'd hit some kind of jackpot. Raising a brow wonderingly before he'd spotted the yellow male with his back turned. More trouble. Crossing his arms over his chest he closed his eyes and gave a low laugh while shaking his head. Yep, they were definitely in for it.

Reaver was still frowning, hearing his mothers pawsteps he turned to look over his shoulder. Giving her a 'where do you think your going' kind of look. In his mind he was punishing them all for making him do what he didn't want to do. Therefore he'd give them the cold shoulder until they did what 'he' wanted. Yes, it was perfect. A little growl-like sigh escaped him huffily and his ears flattened again. Turning his face to the wall again and frowning. His arms crossed in a manner not unlike his fathers.

Domino took the opportunity to disappear once her mother was out of sight and her father had diverted his attention. Her little paws silent on the wood, sneaking in a wobbly kind of walk to the couch and using her sharp claws to clamber up one side and over onto the cushions. She had to stifle a sharp giggle so as to remain undetected. Her bright eyes gazing the ceiling absently for a moment. As though she'd forgotten what she was doing. If only her parents were that lucky.
Emiko had immediately fallen asleep, and she deserved it. Surprisingly she had been a decent mother, tending to her children and doing a pretty snazzy job, especially since they were so mischievous.

Reynalda giggled wildly and continued to drool. A little bubble emerged from her mouth and then popped. Oh how innocent she looked... But she would turn out to be something else...

Silas stared at the wall and then back up at his father. How odd these people were. He knew his mother was sleeping but who was this other tall faekat that looked like himself and his sibling brother? Very odd indeed....

Inde was alone with them now and he felt a little.. outnumbered. Raising a brow curiously as he regarded the four of them, slowly taking a seat on the floor and resting his chin in a paw. What was he supposed to do? He wasn't a nanny.. curse his spurt of kindness in saying he'd watch them. But she'd just looked so exhausted, how could he do anything but? Eh, he was sure he might have figured out a way. But now, now they were under his supervision. Goodie.

Reaver plopped down on the floor, still frowning and staring at the wall unhappily, his ears lain back in agitation. A grumble-ish growl escaping from his throat as he watched a spider skim across the surface of the cottage wall. Why were they here?

Domino peeked over the cushions at her father and siblings, glancing the stairs before she smirked and laid her ears back. And soon, she was ripping up the pillows and screaming with giggles. Like she found something terribly hilarious about her actions. Slashing little marks in the cushions, fluff escaping and sticking to her fur.

Silent, quiet and silent and all the things that made no sound. Too many things making too little sound in a place too big to be so quiet. The trees neither stirred nor did the leaves move and inch, their trunks like stone statues rising from the muddy earth. Muddy, it was far too muddy. Rain was an obvious culprit, bein the generous mischief maker that it was. Yet piercing the lush, cirrus-like cloud of silence was a faint 'smack, smack, smack, smack.' Like paws squishing through the mud at a pace one might consider to be trotting. A steady, uneven trot, as though the owner of said paws was walking in a zig-zag. Yet no-one appeared, not a soul in the whole area. Perchance it was a spirit, a sprite! Yes, perhaps it was just that.

Humming, the sound airy at first before slipping into a more joyous, upbeat and gay harmony, a flute joining in before making way for a collapse-worthy, fit of giggles and full throated laughter. "Hahahaha, hee-hee, hoo-hee.. HAAHAHAHAHA!" A thunk which caused a tree to shake and spill its leaves, as though someone had run smack into the tree-trunk. The ground was littered with paw-prints now and a large splat pattern of mud across the oak-tree big enough to have been made by a male Faekat were one judging size, which might just be considered terribly rude. Assumptions always were. Even so, in this case, they'd be correct.

Four more paw-prints, squishing
deep into the mud before a trail of earth shot up and covered a high branch. The owner still unseen, as though invisible. By heavens, invisible was quite right. Slowly a ribbon of blue appeared, followed by a ribbon of pink which wound its way around the blue to form a lush cats tail. Swinging back and forth as though agitated by some unseen force. Curling and ocassionally tying itself in knots. "Hee-heeeeeee..." Came a voice, more laughter and ever creepy. The disembodied tail swung around and around, on one of its trips moving to reveal a long smile with rows upon rows of razor-like teeth.

The Black Cat raised a brow and turned his eyes to regard the window for a moment before he slid them back to the demon and his lips parted to speak. "That is what 'we' need to figure out." If The Black Cat didn't hold even a speck of respect for this demon he wouldn't even be standing here. There were things, reasons he respected Azazel and if he hadn't this conversation wouldn't exist. Therefore, even if he had his own reasons and motives behind much of it, he was still looking foreward to working with this demon.

The floor was cool, it sent wave after wave of relief flooding through his over-heated body. His bloodrust fur flat against his body, making him look a twinge thinner than he likely was. His lips parted just slightly to expose a hint of canine as hot breath escaped him in steady streams. He felt on fire, he did have a fever. Perhaps his sickness was abating though. Yes, most likely he was finally healing.

"If I am not mistaken, your prior place of residence will not be safe for you now. And... it would be in your best interest to find someone new to play with. As well you know. Of course." Azazel expected a certain amount of intelligence from TBC. He was just going over the particulars. "So... while you search out your options, my current home is open to you. With the exceptions as listed. Why? Perhaps I am bored. Perhaps I wish to see this manipulation of yours in action. We shall see." He was not being disrespectful to the kat, he merely acted as a demon, as himself.

Oooh. Another male... and this one all by himself. Aysel pouted. Azazel was ignoring her now. She crawled over to Rage, and snuggled against his sleeping form. She slept. While she slept, a strange change came over her body... causing it to grow, and shift, blossoming into its adult form. Her long eyelashes fluttered, and she awakened once more. A low purr greeted the realization that she was not, after all, alone. No, this male was not Az. This male was... smaller, though similar in color. Really, his shape was fairly similar too. Interesting. She cuddled against his form, playing with her hair and humming with pleasure. She smelled faintly of jasmine, and something more exotic, something almost intangible. Intriguing.
