Kaida kept up with her group but tapping on Edge's shoulder she whispered something to him. "X marks the spot... I think that is the center of the forest... the five rings... may be five tests.... something along those lines... I am going up into the trees... I will stay above to see what I can from there.. but I will keep close." She lept up into the tree branches feeling more at home there rather than on the open ground. She wanted to keep her eyes open for anything and it was her specialty to be in the trees.

Kinoru keot running "You do know I can hear you right, and your probably right, but that would be 4 tests, because the X was in one of the circles, it could also mean we failed one of five tests"

Kaida ran forward going faster than the others only long enough to get ahead of Kinoru. She lept from the trees and landed on the ground holding her hand out to stop him. "Lets make this clear.... I don't care if you heard me or not. You ran ahead of the rest of the group.... maybe you should learn from your mistake... I mean after all you fell in the pit... Stay nearer the group... I don't want to mess up these next four tests... No one will stand in my way of becoming a great ninja..." She pointed at him. "And I will make sure you and Edge are both great ninjas too." She was very serious and then she was gone.. back to the trees to keep an overhead view of the situation.

Kinoru looked at Kaida "Being a great ninja isn't important to me, nor is teamwork. I've got my own agenda in life, and once I've acomplished what I'm after I'll probably stop being a ninja all together, besides. I don't care if I get sent back to the academy, nothing is going to stop me from reaching my goal" Kinoru, continued to stand there and started to think "Beside's I'm probably not the next target it's probably....well lets just get going"

Kaida heard everything that Kinoru had said and inside it sickened her inside. She shook her head and knew that his agenda was one that would never leave him happy in the end. She had seen enough people's lives go to waste with agenda's like that. She kept moving, but kept an eye on her team mates as well not wanting to lose any of them or get sepperated.

Edge nodded to both his team mates as he kept the pace with them. He kept a good eye out on his surroundings thinking back to the tests. He would need to keep his mind focused and trust his team mates if he were to be of any use this time. Since he knew little of what was ahead he could tell one thing. Shunketsu Sensei was giving them problems to contend with. Whoever was to reach the end first would leave the academy however that meant they would be fighting each other or at least trying to beat each other to the finish. That didn't sound like a ninja team completing a mission. At least he hoped not...Whatever was next would probably come soon..

Kinoru slowed his pace so that it was even with Edge "I'm such a dunder head" He said as he wacked himself in the head "Why didn't I see it before. I mean it's one of the oldest trickes in the book. I guess we really should work together, specially, since the whole whoever gets there first thing is just away to screw with our team work" Kinoru hadn't just realised this, but he had come to realise the importance of teamwork.

(Ooc: that and the fact you said when you introduced yourself to the group that you were out to kill a certain someone.)
Kaida kept moving above the guys and stopped when they did. She hung upsidedown from one of the branches. "I am glad you have realized this Kinoru... now we are all on the same page right? Teamwork is what we need." She pat Kinoru and Edge on their heads while hanging there and grinned as she disappeared back up into the trees. "I will be keeping an eye from up here..."

*the team would soon reach a part of the forest where the vegetation grew extremely thick, blocking all light from above, and eventually, without warning, from the entrance to that path...it seemed the vegetation grew around them to block all light...*
*barely any noise could be heard within that area...and vision was at a dead zero visibility...*
*the earth beneath their feet seemed to move ever so slightly...which would cause the team to be disoriented as to which way they came in from...*
*an unseen group of chipmunks sat in the dark...a short ways off, a small stream that flowed through the forest could be just barely heard...*
*There were 3 stone statues ahead, two were made of granite, one from marble, but with the darkness, it was impossible to discover them normally...let alone tell which was which and where they were...*
*it seemed at the moment that the team would have only one member that would be able to navigate efficiently without sight...this Genin could lead the blinded others, or, this Genin could just leave them in the darkness, and have a very good head start on his way to Shunketsu...*

As Kaida moved through the trees she growled seeing the vegetation getting very very thick. Soon she knew she would have to return to the ground with the others for if the vegetation was too thick she wouldn't be able to see a thing anyway. The growing darkness made her uneasy and finally as she was leaping from a tree the vegetation made it's move growing suddenly. She was flipped upsidedown by this her leg caught in the vegetation until she was able to cut herself free with the use of a kunai. "Shiznit... " She glanced around but even with her eyes being as good as they were she couldn't see a thing. She held out her hand and felt her way along until she grabbed Edge. "It's just me... Must be another of sensei's tests... This ground is weird....Kinoru where are you? You and your dog can lead us through this darkness.... he can smell the way out..."

Kinoru had his had on Kao's back, so he found the others with relitives ease. "Sure, shouldn't be a problem for Kao, but if were going to get out of here we need a specific thing for Kao to track, and I doubt even he could find Sensei's scent in here,so we need something else."

*one of the chipmunks threw an acorn at Kinoru's head and walked off in the direction of the statues...It stopped short of the area the statues were in...like it didn't want to head any further...of course, they could not see the chipmunk do all this, but it can't be that hard to track down the scent of a chipmunk covered with the smell of acorn in a forest where acorns are uncommon...*

*in the middle of the forest rested Shunketsu...who listened to the squirrel's report...*
Shunketsu: uhhuh...uhhuh...ok...I don't understand a single word of squirrel talk, but I think i get the point...
*he then looked up at the sky...*
Shunketsu: hmm...I wonder how long it'll take for them to outsmart me...

Kinoru grabed the spot of his head where thye acorn hit "Ow!" he picked it up "If this is anything like that squirrl, I think I know which sent to follow" Kinoru brought the acorn to Kao's nose "Track the scent, not just the acorn either, get the scent of what threw it" Kao sniffed the air and barked signaling that he ahd the scent "Guy's grab on to me and hold on, Kao's got the scent"

Kaida moved in the direction of Kinoru's voice and grabbed his hand. "Lead the way..." She kept one of her semi gloved hands around Kinoru's and the other around Edges as she trusted Kin and his pet to lead them through the darkness. "I suspect that you are right... "
She kept her mind going as she walked through the darkness til she ran smack dab into one of the three statues, the one made of marble. "What the....stop... " She stopped in place and let go of the other's hands and felt the statue not knowing what it was. "Feels like stone...a pillar maybe.... or... some sort of statue... It's big... and the shape... feels unnatural.."
