"Oh hell yes. Please? We can even make some burner social media accounts!" She had heard Encke make a mention to Basiluzzo about Pendour's potential plans to make a counterpropaganda push. Maybe things like a cat kicking the a** of a youma would make a good part of that. ... She was probably fantasizing and thinking far too much of herself, but then again, who wouldn't want to see a cat kick a**? It was like a win/win situation-- "People don't really question Encke terribly much as Ignacio, it's true." She giggled. "Maybe if you wanna get into some cool function, you should recruit him." Viatrix's eyes lit up at another excuse to give Raina more friends who were part of this who were actually around her age -- Garber Bell did have some kids that were about her age, too, but they also weren't senshi or knights, and she knew if Garber caught wind of her thinking about them at all in relation to this stuff he'd probably have a Talking with her -- "Oh, I'm sure she'd love that! She's gotta get used to campus eventually, after all. I'm sure you two will get on great!" Well, hopefully.

blaugh "We could. It would be fun. Post status updates about saving lives and looking cool. Blur out faces to make it harder for the Negaverse to recognize us. I'd like to see it, at least. The manual said we can't post to Twitter on our Senshi phones, but I think it's just not being creative enough." Raksha hummed thoughtfully and rocked on her heels. "Think he could get me into an astrophysics conference? That could be fun. For both of us, probably. He seems to love space. Maybe even more than I do." "...He should find a space documentary to voice. Maybe one on the Rosetta mission. That one that landed on a comet? I bet he'd like that." "...Also, I hope she will. I'm pretty good at getting along with people, at least. It's easy to be nice to people, and it costs zero dollars. It can really help someone, too. It matters." Raksha hummed a snippet of a song to herself following that statement. 🎶If you don't do small things, just because big things exist, you are a giant piece of s**t.🎶[quote="Seiana_zi]

"Exactly! Not like we have to use senshi phones." This was a good idea, Viatrix thought, and not just because it was featuring her at the forefront being the one to beam a youma-- okay, maybe it was mostly that, but also-- Astrophysics conference-- "I mean, if he goes as someone who might be interested in voicing a documentary," Viatrix gave her own version of a little kitty wink, "I think he'd have no problem getting in, honestly." Having the voice of an actor on a documentary he would definitely be interested in? Honestly, that'd probably be a win/win situation, too. Ignacio's voice was also just generally pleasant, from what she understood; obviously, she hadn't spent too much time focusing on it, but it seemed well reviewed from what she had read-- Viatrix bumped Aerin's hand once more as a way of encouragement. "Anser's generally nice to people too, so long as you're not chaos. Chaos people tend to get different treatment." She giggled. "Fortunately, you're not one of them." This would go Great, Viatrix was absolutely certain of it.

“If they wanted us not to do it, they should have used more specific wording. And I would love to see you beaming a youma. You deserve to." All cats deserved to beam youma, but Viatrix was chief among them. "I would love to see it. Maybe then I'll be able to tell my classmates I've seen one of his movies. And he'd probably be very good at it. The best documentaries are voiced by people who obviously care about what they're talking about- it gives it life that's otherwise not present." Aerin paused. "Or if they have the sweet oatmeal voice of an ideal grandfather." She was, of course, talking about David Attenborough. Aerin was quietly relieved at the reassurance- she could be friendly, but it was much easier when the other person was being friendly back. "...I'm glad I'm not Chaos too. I'm pretty lucky that you found me first, I think." If she had been awakened on the Negaverse side- she would either be out immediately or not ever. She knew it in her bones. A least I can be genre savvy- I know my own potential to be a monster.Aerin paused, serious for a second. "If I ever get corrupted somehow- If you can't get me to purify quickly, you have to kill me. It's- for the greater good, okay?" (It made her sick to think about, now that she knew, but she had to say it. Just in case.)

Maybe she'd suggest to Encke that he get into voice work for space documentaries. Aerin did have a point -- those things tended to be more interesting when the person who was speaking about them was into them, because that enthusiasm could be infectious. Encke's enthusiasm for space generally tended toward the infectious side, and he had convinced several people she knew of to care about it... "You're right. He should do that! Maybe he can get some space enthusiasm going around the general populace..." Viatrix agreed that she was lucky she found Raksha first. Every senshi she helped awake, every senshi she helped protect, every single one felt like luck considering how many Negaversers seemed to exist on this planet-- Somehow, she understood the desire to be killed if she wouldn't repurify. It was something that Encke felt similarly about, though she had never known him before he couldn't be corrupted. It was absolutely something Anser felt similarly about. "I'd do everything I could to get you to purify," she murmured, offering her paw, "but you have my word."

Aerin gently took Viatrix's paw. "...Thanks." A pause. "You know, if you asked me what I thought I would be doing right now two months ago, I would not have come up with 'asking a talking cat to take me out by sniper if I ever turn to the dark side.' would definitely not be on the list." It was another transparent attempt to lighten the conversation, just a tad, because sometimes that's all you can do- some things just suck, but they're also kind of hilarious if you look at them for too long. "Anyway, uh- I don't think it would be that hard. From what I've seen- look, if senshi ever went public and started charging people money to go up to space on weekend trips, we would be rolling in cash. There's that terrible rich guy that wants to charge people a lot of money to be indentured servants on Mars. And some guys want to take him up on that! We could do that for like. Two dollars. And turn a massive profit, hypothetically." "People LOVE space. It would not be difficult. Not that we- should? Morally I think it would probably be wrong to do that. If people want to travel to our worlds they can do it for free. But we could, theoretically. It's possible." "I was going somewhere with this. The point is, I'm going to pester Encke into buying you Universe Sandbox on Steam. It's like twenty dollars, he can afford it."

Viatrix shook on it, of course, before she let go of Aerin's hand in turn. The remark earned a wry giggle; it wasn't a conversation anyone wanted to have, really, and it definitely fell under the category of unexpected to say the least. "Hopefully it never comes to that." She offered, bumping Aerin with her head once more, before letting it drop, listening to Aerin's ideas. "I mean," Viatrix tapped her chin thoughtfully, "we can bring them to space for free, and I don't necessarily want to turn space travel into a capitalist venture, but we could charge a small nominal fee. Use it to fund some Order projects. Chaos definitely has a bunch of money they use to fund stuff, why not?" It actually wasn't a terrible idea. She'd just need to figure out if there was a reasonable way to execute it without putting anyone in Order at risk. Maybe they could start with the families of other senshi or knights, if they were willing to reveal their identities. That also came with its own risk, but she also knew at least a few senshi and knights who were that open-- "Also, he can definitely afford twenty dollars. I want to try that game! It should be fun!" Too bad a cat couldn't really reasonably stream--

"Hopefully." Viatrix taking the idea seriously was a surprise, with the suggestion that the idea was a good one even more so- Aerin had said it mostly as a joke. Since it was being taken seriously, though, she tilted her head, thinking about it for a few seconds. "It could be something. Basically like how zoos charge admission fees in order to feed the animals and make new exhibits and stuff. I'm not really sure what Order projects there could be aside from restoring homeworlds, but… some people might not have as readily available camping supplies as I do." "...Maybe medical treatment, too? A- guy. That I met. Said that the Negaverse takes care of its people. There might be people trapped there for health insurance reasons." The idea of being trapped in an evil soul-stealing organization for the employment benefits was extremely funny, in its own way, but it could be very real- and something that should probably be stopped. "I'm sure it's harder to get out if you're going from- a rigid hierachy and support system to a loose alliance of some guys that think stealing souls and attacking people with monsters is bad, probably, and that space is pretty ok. Maybe even cool." "Also, I want to see you play that game. Turn the sun into a golf ball."

Viatrix cued into the medical treatment, heard what she said about health insurance and being trapped there for health insurance -- "They definitely have places everywhere that do stuff like that." She shifted uncomfortably. "There's been all sorts of things that have just been Nega operations in this area. Circuses, theatres, schools..." Probably quite a time to bring that up. "Good things that could be Order projects, I think -- things like having our own facilities that can take care of people, things where we can be safe, providing money for those just purifying and getting on their feet. I know Encke and Basiluzzo have offered their own place for people purifying. That helps. But obviously they can't catch everyone." She tapped her chin. "I will definitely turn the sun into a golf ball. And I'll let you see it!"

"...Of course they do." Of course they would. It made logistical sense, and it was definitely, then, a key part of how they got people to stay- losing access to large parts of public life was a steep price to pay. But- "Wait, schools?" It- there was something to that, something with teeth. Why else did evil regimes try to control the schools? Because controlling what information people had- being evil alien invaders was a lie, but plenty of schools taught internationally edited or otherwise inaccurate information. How else would they cement their power? "I don't suppose they put cats at the door to check for kids they can coerce into joining?" That was bad. That was really bad. "We definitely need our own version of that stuff. I don't suppose you know anyone on Order who's like- really wealthy, and can finance this sort of thing? Make like- a resource kit. And things." -! "Wait, are you inviting me over to your house? Where you live?"

Viatrix's nod was slow as she realized that she had just dropped the whole schools thing, quite possibly one of the more alarming things that the Negaverse had ever had control of-- "Yeah, schools. Ah, Encke could probably tell you more about some of that if you're interested. His experience with one of those is a little personal." Viatrix would just have to warn him first. Talking about those days had grown easier for Encke over the years, no longer sending him into lockdown or disassociative episodes as frequently, but it didn't mean it was something that came easily. Viatrix had found that out the hard way when she had asked how he had found out about the war-- "Don't know how the nasty Negacats recruit, but that wouldn't surprise me. Uh, I mean, Encke and Basiluzzo are pretty decently off but I don't know many who are super wealthy. The first to come to mind is Scylla, I think?" Scylla was very well off, from what Encke knew-- "Yeah! I don't see why Luke would mind if you came by -- oh, that's their dad -- and Safira won't care, lemme put my address into your phone?" Viatrix would do that as soon as she was offered the phone, and would hand it back just as quickly. "There are a couple of other people who live there, just be respectful to them if you see them, one of them is an alien so --," she giggled. "Anyway! Consider that an open invite!"

“...He doesn’t have to talk about it if he doesn’t think it’s helpful. I’m- starting to get an idea, of the sort of atrocities the Negaverse is capable of. Just knowing they have that level of control is good. And that it’s something we need to do something about.” It wasn’t a situation where just fighting could solve the problem, either. It would be- hard. They’d figure it out. They had to. Raksha was pulled out of any potential spiralling of Viatrix’s mention of their houseguest. (She ignored the mention of their parents, for the moment. It must be- nice, to have family that would be, were, cool with the whole senshi thing.) “An alien? Like, a Velencian?” But- if the person staying there was a Velencian, Viatrix would likely have just said Velencian. Which meant whoever was staying over must be something else. Raksha started vibrating, a little bit. Aliens who were not dead and also not the Velencians existed? That was extremely encouraging news. “Oh, right.” Raksha offered Viatrix her phone. “...Are they okay? How’d they get to Earth? Are they hiding from the government?” The government probably didn’t know about aliens, but- “Have you guys gotten them like. Paperwork and stuff? It’s pretty hard to like, exist, without a social security number and whatnot. And they probably don’t have any of that.” On account of being an alien, and not from Earth.

Viatrix bumped Aerin's hand gently with her head to show her appreciation, following that up with, "Not necessarily that it's not helpful if you want to know history. Just, uh," she scrunched her snout just a little bit, "trauma." It was good that she was already getting the idea, though. Didn't necessarily need to delve into the details if she was already understanding the idea without them. As Viatrix finished up putting in her address, she chirped, "Like the Velencians in that she's an alien, not like the Velencians in that she's not ... Velencian. Different people. Or person. She's the only one left. I'm not exactly sure how she got to Earth other than feeling some kind of energy pull? Anyway, that's one of my talents as a Mauvian! I've gotten her set up with that stuff so she doesn't have to worry about existing here." Also worked on getting her a civilian glamour and all that. She felt very accomplished.

"Trauma." Whatever the sort of people that made a terrifying soul vault did to Encke- "It's good to know what the sort of people you're facing are capable of, what tools they have in their arsenal. But I'm not going to ask Encke to share unless he wants to talk about it." Aerin fidgeted with a button on her coat while Viatrix entered the address on her phone, then took it back. What Viatrix said, though- "...The last?" There was a sharp, painful grief, there- It was worse, even, than finding out everywhere else was dead, because everywhere was dead, but this person remembered that loss. "I'll be kind to her." Not that Aerin would have been a jerk either way, but- that was so much to go through. "...Good to know you can do that though. If I ever have to go on the run from the law,. or go into the witness protection program, you'll be the first to know."

Viatrix would propose the idea to Encke, see how he felt about talking about Barren Pines a bit more widely. It might not be a bad thing for him to share more openly, but she'd understand, also, if he hadn't wanted to touch the topic with a ten-foot pole-- "The last," confirmed Viatrix, quietly, as Aerin sorted through the sharp grief in her mind. It had been one of the most tragic stories that Viatrix had heard as a guardian cat so far. A final survivor, one of the last -- it was why she had been so determined to take her in, besides for the fact that that was just what they did for each other. Viatrix would have never left anyone to fend for themselves when they had the ability to prevent that, and it felt even more important to show someone kindness who probably hadn't felt any of it for so terribly long. "But you can count on me, promise!" She giggled. "And, uh, if you ever know anyone who recently purified? Let me know too. I can help get them set up." Or if Aerin found any other aliens-- She would help. She had to.
