Duncas had been about to reply to Etta and Arianna when Ra raised his voice to silence them. The blue-grey Mauvian listened carefully to what the Watchful Guardian had to say, and was about to agree that they all were more than just cats, when the din started up again and he fell silent, listening. He nearly weighed in again, sincerely wishing that Ra had brought a Powerpoint after all, when the white Guardian spoke once more, and once more Duncas snapped his mouth shut and listened to what Ra had to say. At the mention of agents of Chaos his ears perked up. Somehow he knew that his job -- the job of all of them -- involved fighting Chaos, with the help of the Sailor Senshi they were to awaken and take charge of. Had Ra mentioned that in his tirade? There were so many cats talking he couldn't remember. Oh for that Powerpoint. "I agree with the little one -- Sumi, is it? How did these Chaos agents manage to completely cut themselves off from detection so quickly, and apparently so efficiently?" As he waited for an answer, Arianna bought up a very insteresting question: just how much did Ra know that he wasn't telling them all yet? His bright green eyes narrowed and his tail flicked slightly. Maybe the stars held some of the answers...

" Etoile, Hadaya, it is an absolute pleasure to meet both of you." She smiled, tipping her head to each of them in turn in order to commit their names to memory. "There is a very good chance he's hungry -- a chance we'll all need some sort of snack after all of this." Amongst other things, honestly. Something like a nice, pampering spa day came to mind -- lovely treats, catnip tea, anything to provide a momentary distraction from everything else going on. As WG continued to talk she turned back around, taking a seat to listen while remaining near the two younger Mau. Everyone else seemed to be asking rather good questions so she held her own tongue, for now.

" Arianna is correct, Pyper. From all I could tell they probably knew that someone was trying to get into their systems but not who, I..." His mouth pressed into a line at the implication that he was intentionally keeping things from them, tail twitching behind him once, twice then falling still. "If I knew how they'd managed to do it I might have been able to work around it. I might have been able to plan and coordinate better so that we could be more prepared. Part of the problem is that I -- we've -- been working with limited resources. Getting our communications system up and operational to the point where I was confident that it was untraceable in order to protect not only us but our charges has taken priority." Sighing he began to pace, starting out with a few steps in one direction before wandering back in the other. "To answer you, Sumi," he paused for a moment longer, pondering words before continuing on, "I found them because I could feel the surge of Chaos when they powered up the first time, which is when I awakened you and Sing. Without knowing who they are we can't trace them the way humans would track one another, we can only follow feelings and hunches. We can track patterns and follow data, paying attention to similarities and..." He cut himself off, tail ticking back and forth once more as he thought of the resources he'd left behind with the Powerpoint that he hadn't brought along. "I will upload a picture of my conspiracy wall later so you can all join me down the rabbit hole that has lead us to here. The short of it, Duncas is that with technology being what it is, it's easy to track people who leave a digital trail. Someone had to have told them not to leave a trail... And that is something to be concerned with. Speaking of, do any of you pay attention to the tabloids? World-wide or local?" ((Sorry for the double-quote. *coughs* ))

Sing listened for a little, squinting around at the quiet and gathered cats, his chin bobbing as she snuffed the air. Really, WG had made a good choice of meeting location, it was so clean, and minimal damp even after some of the recent rains. This was a good city, and she would do her best to protect it. “All of this, just proves how much we need to support each other, those of us who have less experience in being part of this, I think it’s safe to say you can turn to those of us with more. She waved at herself and Sumi as the easiest to indicate, but also because they’d been awoken so early to try and help get things done. She looked thoughtful for a moment. “You know how I feel about that tabloid.” She intoned, which might have sounded rather like she disapproved of it, but truthfully it was something that she went out of her way to inspect. The other thought niggled in the back of her mind though, her tail twitched almost spasmodically and she glanced towards Sumi, or roughly at him at least. "I wonder..." She started to say, before becoming momentarily distracted. She had to give a soft purr at Pyper though. "... if it's not the right time to tell us, then we'll know because we don't know I suppose."

Everything had settled to the point where those gathered were finally able to get back to carrying on a conversation. They were getting into the swing of asking questions and giving answers and... Suddenly everything stopped. In a second that made it seem as though time itself were standing still every Guardian Cat gathered in the alley would feel a prickle on their skin, raising the fur on the back of their neck as if an icey wind had passed through the alley. A second later the feeling would intensify and Ra's hackles raised, back arching as he stood. Another beat passed and the Watchful Guardian's eyes went wide, heart pounding as he froze. "They're here. By the stars, they're here. All of them are here..." His words came quickly as his eyes began to dart around in an attempt to pinpoint exactly where the feeling was coming from, other than everywhere considering there was now not one but all four of the Shittenou present in Mayet. "Alright, new plan. Everyone go home. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go directly home, by whatever the fastest route possible. Just go and check in via group chat whenever you get there... They can't track us. They shouldn't be able to track us... RUN!" ----- [[ The Shittenou; Generals of the Dark Kingdom and Heralds of Chaos (according to the Watchful Guardian) have arrived in Mayet. This is a cause for concern and the sign that says all of the information has at least pointed to the right city. For the rest of the night of October 11, 2021 ICly it is NOT SAFE to be a Guardian Cat out on the streets of Mayet. All Guardian Cats are to return home immediately. Guardian Cats may now start role plays with one another AND with Sailor Soldiers in need of being awakened. Awakening RPs for Sailor Soldiers obtained in the opening raffle should ICly take place between October 12th and October 18th. Something in the air had changed so suddenly that a chill raced down her spine. Her own back arched as she rose to her feet, taking a defensive stance. Without knowing exactly what she was ready to fight against she knew she would do whatever it took to keep everyone safe. If it was a fight they wanted, it was... Wait. Ra was telling them to run. The Watchful Guardian was telling them to run. "But..." If it was just four of them and there were thirty Sailor Soldiers, maybe they could just... So why were they... "Think, Etta." She chided herself softly. If the energy signatures were that strong the truth of it was likely that the Sailor Soldiers they had were all so fresh that they would be putting them all in danger. There was a chance that if the four had only powered up together now because it was a trap to draw them out. There were so many possibilities and she was certain that WG had considered all of them in his rapid calculations before ordering everyone to go home. When she could get her own wits about her she turned to Hadaya and Etoile. "We musn't dally, but please check in when you're both safe." To Sumi and Sing she turned next. "Sumi, you'll make sure Sing gets home?" The question was asked in a tone that implied it would work both ways, that between the two of them would keep each other safe and were likely at least somewhat practiced in doing so, being that they'd both been around for so long. To Arianna she gave a worried look, followed by an apologetic one to Duncas. She was looking forward to continuing conversations with each of them. Duncas' knowledge of the stars fascinated her and Arianna knew her friendship over the past three years had been a welcome one. She'd said not to dally, yet here she was... It was to Shurelia and Broderick that she turned next. "I might know somewhere nearby that's safe to hide if either of you need to call for a ride. Shurelia, your Sailor Soldier would come for you if you asked her to? Do you think she would be willing to give Broderick here a ride home too?" Her tone was gentle, concerned, wanting everyone to be safe -- as they should have been, given there was no reason why anyone should be able to detect them, and yet... As she awaited an answer she turned to Pyper and Itsuki. "Now would be the time to take your snacks and run! The game is afoot!" (( Etta loves all of you! As do I. <3 ))

Sumi felt the shift in the air and his fur almost immediately puffed up leaving him looking rather like a cotton ball with a face. Hies eyes widened as he felt the presence that Ra had drawn their attention to and what Ra said. It was Them. The ones they'd been traveling around the world following whenever someone popped up on Ra's radar. It wasn't supposed to be all of them! "How ... how did they all get here?!" He didn't know much about them, only the bits that Ra had let the older Mauvians know, but the Guardian hadn't ever mentioned with with anything but trepidation. Hopping up onto his feet he scampered over to where Sing was and nudged her back end with his head. "Come on ... lets go ... hop to it." If they really were out looking for Mauvians he wanted to be as far away from them as possible. Preferably under Lucien's bed until they went away.

Sing bristled, her slender tail turning into a bottle brush as she stood sharply at the wash of power that ran over them like rubbing fur the wrong way. She glanced towards Etta, ears pricked forward as she listened to the careful check-ins and found herself smiling just a little despite everything. “We’ll get there safe.” She assured Etta. “But yes, please… everyone check-in. You too Etta. If you don’t tell your grandmother you made it home safely I’ll be very upset.” “I am hoping, I am hoping, don’t be impertinent! Anyone who doesn’t get moving will find themselves swatted!”

Arianna had been sitting there, silently debating if she wanted to answer the question about reading tabloids. Did she? Of course. They had been some of the first things she could get her hands (or paws) on when she realized her mind had awoken to being more than a cat. Quickly she had discovered they were full of insane ideas that some very creative human minds had concocted. While entertaining, the idea of seeing a young Elvis in this day and age was overdone. The man would have been nearly 90! But all thoughts of saying anything disappeared as everything went silent. In three years, Arianna couldn't say she had ever felt something like this. Her skin literally crawled and her fur began to puff out as she felt her eyes go wide. Then a second and then... She was shaking. Even though she hadn't realized it, Arianna's body was shaking slightly as she felt that change in the air. Ra's voice snapped her back to reality. Jerking her head around, she glanced first to Sing and Sumi before looking at Etta and nodding. "Anyone who needs a place to is welcomed to follow me. " Her eyes darted back to the other solid white cat. "That includes you, Ra." Rising, she moved to Etta's side, standing by her friend who was taking care in making sure everyone had a place to go. "That includes you." She whispered, glancing around at everyone once more. "Get going." Because she wouldn't leave a friend behind.

Duncas was about to answer with an enthusiastic "Of course I read the tabloids!" and had his mouth open, ready to speak, when suddenly -- Skin crawling sensation fur bristling pupils dilating in fear low growl escapingThen Ra spoke, and everything changed. All of a sudden this was very, very real and very, very alarming. The Heralds of Chaos were real, and they were here in Mayet. Standing, the grey cat shook his fur back into order and looked at those nearest him. "We'll have to discuss the stars at some future date, Arianna, Etta," he said, nodding at both cats. "If Ra says to run, we should probably run. Please, look out for those who have no place to go, and the elders and kittens. I will run to the bookstore -- I'll be safe there." Duncas booped noses with both Arianna and Etta, then took off into the shadows.
