So long as I've got you around - it was an echo of something that bumped around her mind now that she had a team again. A real one. Not just one that felt like they had grown more and more distant from her, not one that eventually she drifted away from just like the disappearance of her general-- Best not to think about that right now. "It is just food glitter. Rich people's food glitter. I wonder if it would be worth more just to sell it." Probably not. But the thought made her wonder as she looked at her remaining pieces, plucking up one of them to see the way it reflected in the light. Did people eat this on the regular, or was this just the rich person of that edible confetti and other such things? Probably the second one. Certainly made her feel expensive. Waru's smile was adorable. "I still doubt that," she teased, reaching across to poke him in the arm, "but I won't challenge you on it. If you ever somehow come across some blackmailed ways in like this again..." Well, she wouldn't say no.

"Rich people glitter. Yanno, I always thought that was diamonds n' things like that?" Waru'd never had the taste for it. Only for the people who trapped themselves in such things, and maybe once upon a time he would've indulged someone who regularly enjoyed these things as a part of their daily routines. His need for ease of life had made it desirable, his own personal revelation that the pursuit of such things was not only short lived, but that it also inevitably 'sucked' the literal joy from all things? Soured his want for it years ago. Made things like this infinitely better. Hanging with people who couldn't. Indulging them when he could - sourcing out the verve of life from little moments in time - in simple pleasures. Park outtings, swimming in lakes, long car rides... Internal focus snapped out for the soft glit of Dee's voice over his thoughts, the sound a bright caresses of a thing that he could heed time and again, that he would, because she was his girl. No matter how high either of them climbed, he couldn't imagine ever looking down at her and issuing an order - in taking command out from under her well thought out wings that flared like her meticulously rift packed lists. Whatever she thought - whether she agreed with him or not - he could only stare at her and smile around a mouthful. Grin around the warm thought of everything they'd do together. Everything he'd goad her into working out for him - for herself. She was worth it, surely, deserved the proper attention and time to do as such - to be reassured that it was her right to do as such, and make endless memories for herself in the doing of it. He noisily sucked around a spoonful of cold milky deliciousness. Licked the silver of it clean. "Hmm? Oh, this isn't the last time this's gonna happen Dee. Not even close to it. S'not like your going anywhere yeah? We've got a long time to make more memories outta things like this. Heh, I'm sure my people can sus out more - ah - unscrupulous characters" such a big word and Waru stuck his tongue out at the end of it, made a face for all the syllables; made it fun even as he took note to the bevy of wait staff who swirled about and collected trays things. Quiet little bustle of them, where they swept through, undisturbing of hushed conversations and pairings locked in shadowed stares with those who sat across them. "You tell me where you wanna go next - I know I want that road trip - but like - anywhere else? I'll make it happen for you. Swear it. Oceanisde cabana, seats at a game, the moon? M'real good for stuff like *this* - you just, you tell me, yeah Dee? If you can promise to tell me what you need..." some flit of an emotion that crossed his face, that he shook loose in favor of staring past her back at the fish statue he wanted pictures in front of. Memories encased in pixel and mind. "Whatever..lets get outta here after this. S'only so much glitz I can breath in before I get antsy over it."

S'not like you're going anywhere, yeah? The phrase stabbed into her with one hundred meanings and it took her mind away from the joys for a moment. Was she going anywhere? She felt mixed up, she felt stagnant, she felt like she finally belonged, she felt like she never had a chance of belonging, she felt like she might have been finding her footing, she felt the warnings that it might have just been Metallia's influence holding her there and keeping her complacent and content. Not like she was going anywhere; if she went somewhere, she would leave him, she would leave Faustite, she would leave all adventures of road trips and promises of more events at fancy restaurants with their unnecessarily fancy gold foil rich people glitter and glitz. She swallowed around it, shook her head quickly and quietly, and brought herself back into the present without another word aloud on it. Couldn't even hint she was having those thoughts if she wanted to. "Man, you really are making a good argument for yourself in Infiltration, you know that?" she teased, nudging him once again. He didn't necessarily know of Faustite's and Nembus' debate of where he belonged, but it wouldn't hurt much to mention the concept of him being an Infiltration agent, at least. "Finding suspicious characters to take advantage of is very on-brand. But I agree." She glanced around. "But let's take that selfie before we head out, alright?" She desperately needed something to mark this day. Something to remind herself. Something to think about.

Infiltration - words he should’ve cared for. Except one branch or another meant so little to him. Didn’t matter from colors or flavors when he lacked knowledge of the crux of it. Lepidolite was just as hot as Hessonite, was just as eerily off putting and charming all in one as freaking Axinite. She could put him where she wanted - he’d grin and roll with it. “Oh, ******** yes!” Entire demeanor that bade go, that begged for it. Wanted the pictures more, the image of Delilah smiling - a thousand silly and coy photos snapped errantly around the place. Waru was ready to make a general nuisance of himself once more and to entertain her as he did it. “Ooh, we should do the fish - and the band people - or are they like, an orchestra? Whatever! You’ll send me all the pics you got yeah? I wanna brag that I had a good time n all - tell people how aweful ‘fake food foil’ tastes.”

Delilah didn't particularly like any of the general-sovereigns. Not necessarily by fault of their own, of course, but all of them made her uncomfortable in the same way. Powerful. Could destroy her life. Could report her to Metallia or something, perhaps get her killed for her insolence and internal doubting. Any of them made her scared. Lepidolite had been the same as Axinite and would have probably been the same as Hessonite. The delight in taking selfies with her brought a grin to Delilah's face. "Of course I'll send them to you!" Should she? What would it mean if she left-- "I'll send you a picture of the dessert too. Just so, you know. You can prove the fancy rich people bougie glitter. Can you believe they seriously eat gold?" She shook her head. Too bad it didn't seem to actually be worth selling-- "I want to take a picture with the fish, yes. And perhaps we can get the orchestra to smile at us. Might make a good shot."

"Good girl! C'mon let's bounce - " all grins to and the desire to reach for her. To tuck away the napkin and lay down his spoon, laugh as they up and made a scene - soft one - gentle one. Still, to be like a tourist in some places, enjoy the simplest of things inherent in that. "You've gotta, I'll look good. Oh, we'll find some stupid captions for it - maybe spam firebrand and encourage him to join us on some normal a** outtings for the sake of eating 'foil'. He might do it too!" soft little laugh, and Waru made to stretch as he stood, the way that pulled at the tailored lines of his suit - as if it'd be ready to shed off like a second skin. "Really just, maybe we can get that fish identified? I think that things hilarious. It'll all be lovely Dee."

"You'd think he'd want to come anywhere with us? I don't know," Delilah's chuckle was light. "Think he's too work-obsessed." She followed Waru up, stretching a bit herself; they had been sitting down for a while, after all, with ten entire courses to get through-- She watched the way the suit strained for a moment and wondered if they might need to worry about it breaking on him. Did he have to pay rental fees on that? "Let's take the picture in front of the fish," she decided, gesturing for him to follow her in that direction. "Maybe we can ask our general if he knows what it is." Maybe he'd at least feel like she was trying to live, and maybe that'd be enough.

"So we break him of his bad habits?" sinister grin and glance, plots being hatched like popcorn from an airfryer "Like..pour hotsauce on em, sept he'd probably enjoy that." Followed along like an eager puppy at heel, and decided they absolutely would ask him about the fish. Throw some fine architecture at their boss, surely that'd be a thing he'd be into. "We'll ask him once we're done, maybe..okay we can't text him, but yanno? Whatever!" he'd figure it out at some point - dragged her into an embrace - fell full on into a bevy of silly faces and poses until something clicked. Said cheese - got looks - didn't care - enjoyed far more the smile on her face.
