Perhaps? ******** suddenly pulled her hand free and narrowed her eyes at Blaze, Gods above he was staring at her like people she'd hypnotized in the past...
"Jesus man, okay come on there pup" The brunette hooked a finger into the front of Blaze's shirt and pulled him along "Let's go, we're getting something to eat and you clearly need something to occupy the other half of your brain while you speak to me. I ain't about to have a conversation with a zombie that isn't even dead"
Without letting the near-comatose boy get a word in edgewise, Mercy pulled him to the order line and picked up two trays laden with eggs, toast, sausage, and an assortment of jams with two steaming cups of coffee on the side to round it all off. With a wave of her hand, Mercy conjured more skeletal hands to hold the trays for her while she continued leading Blaze like a lost puppy until she found an empty table where she had the trays placed and took her seat
"So then....Dreambourne...That's an old name isn't it?" the brunette mused as she took a small teapot and poured a generous amount of cream into her coffee "I remember my father mentioning something like it once when doing some historical research."

 As she tugged on his shirt he fell forward slightly then caught himself following her. Before he knew it there was food then a seat for him to sit in. He sat down and looked at the food. He wasn't very hungry, but decided not to complain to much about this moment. When Mercy mentioned his name he winced a little then sighed. Old? Maybe...Beats me. I just grew up with it. My family hardly ever uses their magic and we kind of live like humans in the human realm. They've adapted and don't really talk to me much about magic or our name or why they don't really want be wizards. I didn't think family names would matter so much so I never cared to learn more. So, yeah, just kind of a random thing that I was actually interested in magic at all. They barely said anything about me getting in to this school or coming here. I mean, I don't plan to stay in the wizard realm or anything, but this is all kind of cool. I wonder why they are so cold to the idea of expanding on their magic.He said thinking aloud. He noticed since he got there there was a big emphasis on last names and it was kind of sad he didn't know more about his. He was playing in the egg yolk with his fork kind of regressing in thoughts about going back to the human realm. He wondered if things got worse just from the little time that he's been here at college. He then looked back at Mercy realizing he was in a conversation and that he should get his head back to where he was. I don't remember hearing your last name. What was it again? Do you have any family grounds?he said finally scooping up the egg he was playing with his fork and putting it in his mouth.

Wizards tend to exhibit a tendency to be...well let's just call it what it is, a little racist. Ironic that they look down on humans but they hold onto the exact same type of nonsense that comes with bloodlines and names...it's ludicrous" her nose wrinkled in disgust before she evened out her expression and sighed while spreading some strawberry jam on a slice of toast "As for me...I'm not exactly sure. My birth was planned in the most literal sense, my father did..a lot of bad things and technically he isn't even my father but he did raise me...I was just planned to exist and I grew up never knowing the people that brought me into this world with their bodies...just as well I suppose, I can't imagine they would want to. So...a bloodline name..I don't really have one but I was raised by a famous wizard and he gave me his last name"Mercy set down her fork and clapped her hands together before slowly spreading them apart and revealing wisps of green mist that hung in the air in the shape of an imposing figure cloaked in long worn robes that hinted at a high position of power likely back during the time of kings. Barely hidden under the hood was a human skull bearing bright green eyes that flickered like candles between two spiraled horns "Solomon King, an elder lich with some fame to him, and if I believe his stories he's an acquaintance of Merlin so...there's a hint to how old he actually is. The point is I carry his last name despite not really being his blood so...It's complicated...I'd like to maybe not talk about it for now...maybe later on once we've all settled in..." She sighed as the mist dissipated and she took a bite of her toast "I'd like to find a way to take power away from those old names though, your blood shouldn't be what determines your place in the world or your status. It's just wrong and gives power for all the wrong reasons." ◢ "Your knowledge is worth nothing until it stands to benefit the rest of the world...

He laughed lightly as she started talking about taking power away from names. He smiled at her and shrugged. So, you aren't from a high class bloodline. Doesn't that mean you can...y'know...reproduce with us lesser bloodlines, too?He aid jokingly to try and make her mood change from not wanting to talk about something to do with her family to something silly. He shifted his shoulders like he was trying to crack his neck and then stretched. I don't think they have any power to be honest. I mean look at me, I'm literally not affected by it at all. I'm going to get my education and go back to the human world and be a detective and law enforcer. I'm going to fix the human world and restore order. You don't need to care about what others say to do things. I mean everything I'm doing, I'm able to do without one of those stupid names. And who knows...Maybe Dreambourne will be the next big thing, and you'll change your mind about high class names. That's when your calling for me to come rescue you from your commoner lifeHe said dramatically as if he was pretending to be her as a damsel in distress. Blaze thought it was slightly noble she wanted to restore some kind of balance to things. He could relate to that. She was turning out to be more than a pretty face. Blaze didn't bother to expand on his family either at that moment. She could've been right but he still wouldn't have known. So, um...your...father is a necromancer cos...Lich...I think I actually know a little about him...does that mean...you're a necromancer?He said a little uneasy because he's hear some weird things about necromancy. And since he was basically new to magic he wasn't able to catch on that everything she was doing was necromancing related.

Just last year I spoke with the spirits of shamans from Teotihuacan to further my research into my theory on the nature of magic between cultures, I can fully resurrect someone who's clinically dead within a few minutes with no significant issues, and though it's been tricky, I can transfer ailments between people. That's actually been useful in keeping some people alive and earning some favors for my work"The brunette paused to take another bite of her toast before continuing "Believe it or not I have similar goals to yours. The world is...broken at the best of times with far too many inequalities that don't need to be there, I firmly believe that if I can further my own talents and research to the right level, I can actually do away with those plutocracies." As she spoke Mercy slowly began reaching her hand across the table "I want to see a world where nobody has to choose between life-saving medicine or groceries, where everyone can work and children don't have to suffer a lesser education because a school in a different zone got lucky and was given more funding. I want justice to be just and for life to be beautiful once more"A kind smile overtook Mercy's features, offset ever so slightly by a small smear of jam on the corner of her mouth as she looked Blaze in the eye and rested her hand on top of his "I feel a similar fire in you, that will to make the world the best it can be!" She smirked as her cheeks flushed ever so slightly "And...based on what you said a moment ago, you've got another fire burning in you as well."The tips of her fingers lightly ran over Blaze's hand, almost teasingly as she locked her impossibly green eyes on his "I...would very much like to stoke that fire, as it were...I suppose that's my way of saying I'd like to see more of you after ******** is that too forward?" ◢ "Your knowledge is worth nothing until it stands to benefit the rest of the world...

Blaze was listening to her and not paying attention to that fact she was attractive. He started to smile as she explained her plans of wanting to reconstruct the human world to make it a better place. He then noticed that she placed her hand on his and it took a moment to register all the way but he looked at her hand as she began to drag her fingertips over his. This is actually going well? Too well...This woman is going to kill me...She is luring me in a trap and she is going to kill me...Blaze thought as he looked back at her eyes. He gulped as he started to realize yet again he was in a conversation. He leaned back in his seat and gave her a curious look. He was joking about his advances towards her because she seemed to be okay with joking but things felt like they were moving at a fast pace. His heart was starting to beat faster and he was trying not to show that his breathing had gotten more shallow and if she kept making moves he was likely to pass out. Her last sentence made him almost want to kiss her like it was some kind of primal thing to come over him. In his mind he already had. She was using all of the key go words and more! The word ' stroke' the word '<********>' etc. Normally he wasn't this selective hearing but she was making it impossible to listen carefully. It was in that moment he felt she was slightly dangerous to him. Finally, " I suppose that's my way of saying I'd like to see more of you after this" registered in his head and his face was beet red. This is fine...She...She can kill me...He thought then he leaned back in still in a slight panic but in a good way. I bet she lives to make guys fawn over her. Why am I this easily manipulate? Magic...must be magic...Though he knew it wasn't magic. He then looked at her lips debating if it was the time to make a go move and noticed the jam and let out a sigh of relief. You got some...He pointed to his lips indicating where the jam was on her lips. Blaze was always thankful for a little moment like that to break the tension. This was not any kind of tension he's ever dealt with before. Here...He laughed uncomfortably as he gave her a napkin to wipe the jam off. He was finally able to look away from her eyes and cleared his throat adjusting his clothing making sure he looked as cool and calm and collected as he wanted to come off.

With her free hand, she reached up and touched both corners of her mouth and paused to look at what was on the tip of her finger. For a moment she simply stared, then she giggled before breaking into full blown laughter she had to work hard to suppress "Holy...holy ********' s**t man!" she nearly snorted into her hand while trying to catch her breath "Goddamn that was funny, your timing is near perfect there..." She had to stop to heave oxygen into her lungs and even cradled her face, now beet red, in her palms to muffle her laughter "Oh man..oh man that's great...Holy s**t that's even better than trying to flirt back" Mercy giggled again as she fished in her pocket. Her student issued phone clattered on the table before she nudged it over to him with her finger, still giggling intermittently into her hand "Put your contact in there Casanova, I wasn't kidding before but damn if I'm not certain we have to get together after this. You have no idea how rare it is that a guy can make me laugh that hard, or at all!" Mercy smirked as she finally got her giggle fits under control and looked Blaze in the eyes once more "May not have been the way you wanted, but you got your hook in and you have a girl interested and in record time no doubt. Kudos" ◢ "Your knowledge is worth nothing until it stands to benefit the rest of the world...

Blaze laughed uncomfortably with her while taking in deep breaths. He was about to lose it. She seemed a little focused on laughing that it seemed like an alright time to relax. When she slid her phone to him he wasn't sure how it worked. He couldn't see anything on her phone but his had a dialogue box. He looked at his phone reading what was in the box
To create a contact or share your contact place your phone over their phone.
He then wasn't sure what he was suppose to do but he decided to try and just follow the instructions. He placed his phone over hers and then it showed an emoji of what looked like Headmaster Magi smiling then winking.

Blaze blushed as se saw the heart next to her name. Why is that there?He then gave Mercy back her phone and looked at his again. He looked under contacts and there was a picture of her with the jam on her face as her contact picture. He covered his mouth and laughed a little. Well, damn...He looked at Mercy and smiled a little How do you get that heart next to your name?He asked not knowing she has no control over how her name goes into his phone but how it's based on his feelings. He also noticed that there was not a last name. Is that by design of these phones?Blaze thought looking more intrigued by this technology.

She gave him a sly wink before taking a bite out of her sausage patty "So then...I feel like even with everything we shared getting nice and intimate with each other, you know more about me than I know about you. I don't even know what kind of magic you use...granted you don't know all of mine either. Call it a girl keeping her secrets for now..."She suddenly smirked anew and rested her cheek in the cup of her hand "Oh my, you're not...secretly a human here to learn the secrets of magic, are you? I imagine you'd need some lessons on things like conjuring a familiar and how to fly. Oh whatever shall you do?" ◢ "Your knowledge is worth nothing until it stands to benefit the rest of the world...

Blaze blushed as she said that. Did I just tell her there's a heart next to her name in my phone?He groaned then looked at her oddly... What does it say as my contact name?He asked curiously. He then heard her say that he knows more about her than she does of him and he smirked. It's cute she think I've been paying attention to most of this conversation...He laughed then cleared his throat again. Well, you can keep as many secrets as you want. I'm sure enjoying learning new things when I can......and something you might have to repeat...He thought as he was growing concern that she was going to notice that he's been half listening. He then smiled at the thought of being a human. I thought humans couldn't use magic...and I can...so like...that theory is debunked...What type of magic do I use? I didn't know there were different types outside of...magic..?He said not sure what to say. OH! Uh...do you mean my studies? I've been learning guardian magic. I can make forcefields and energy swords things like that. I got a book on Diana Hainsworth, and she is a guardian too. Since my family doesn't really practice theirs I have had to read and do stuff on my own. Diana's magic strongly resembles what I feel the human world needs to restore balance. She was one of the people that helped make most of the law enforcement classes here. I also was really inspired by a wizard that goes by Phoenix. He's a really smart guy and his books talk about how there is more to things than just brute force hence me wanting to be a detective. Phoenix's identity however, I don't know it. I'd love to ask him some questions about his magic though. It's enhancement magic that makes you pick up on things that people normally wouldn't. Like the interrogation classes I'm enrolled in.He said smiling talking about things that genuinely interested him. he then chuckled and scratched the back of his head.... But enough about that. I mean...I should probably get going...Let you get back to being...you...He said knowing that if he wanted her to be interested in him it would be best they spent time thinking about each other rather and actually talking. It's better she thinks of me as an idiot than me staying and erasing all doubt...he thought thinking he was going to do or say something stupid again.

Blaze looked at her with his goofy grin when she said that she could teach him somethings. He knew she was probably trying to make it sound like an innuendo and that was really a great reason for him to smile. He knew what she was meaning magical arts, however, and learning more magic was something he would have to do eventually. He never really had an interest in things like dark magic or necromancy and he wasn't sure what she would really be able to show him. Uh...Yeah...I'll think about that...He said with a half smile knowing that it was going to be an uphill battle dodging his uneasy feelings about her magic. Though she explained it nicely, he couldn't help but shake the feeling that it was still something that warranted caution. Something he clearly had a hard time with around her. She could probably get him to do anything at this point. And that was a bit of a concern for Blaze. Oh yeah heave the rest of my breakfast...I'll have to pay you back at some point as a thanks...so I'm not in debt to you...or something...Cos I know I would hate it if you made me your man-slave or such...He said with his smiled still clearly in the gutter. He picked up a sausage however and ate it real quick since it was a gift from her and he actually didn't have a lot of money to get food whenever he wanted. ...you know what they say about strays right? once you feed them they keep coming back for more? We'll see each other again I'm sure...he said trying to be smooth but not realizing how incredibly corny he actually was being. He had a hard time walking away. He stayed to hear on more response. He was slowly making his way to the door though.

He chuckled and smirked as she was saying not to give her ideas. Oh, I'll give you all the ideas of what to do with me...Blaze said under his breath and walked backwards to the door watching her the entire time that he did. He made a gentle waving motion as he walked out the door into the hall. Wow, Blaze you done did good. A few notes though...
1. Mercy could be using you and you have to be careful...
2. Never get into black magic despite what her green eyes and pouty lips say,
3. You made no commitments to her nor has she made any to you. Your loyalty is not to her but to your goals here at college. Breast wont get you the places you want. Stay focused. Eyes on the prize.
4. No one would blame you if you made it a goal to see her naked. At the very least...or most.He thought aloud to himself. He glanced back at the Mess Hall door smiling like his spirits had been perked. He then whistled a tune walking away. *exits*
