Adorea - Super Sailor of Optimism - 9 |

User ImageIn the end, no one would have been aware that she was there. She'd managed to slip through the cracks, flitting about seemingly unnoticed for more than some may have been comfortable with and yet in the moment she was needed she just happened to conveniently show up.

She had wandered idly by as something happened within the forest, that monumental 'crack' of what she could only assume was a large tree positively rippling across the expanse. If there had ever been a way to attract attention and make an entrance then that would certainly have been it, but with that 'snap' had come several sudden appearances she was less fortunate to meet.

Fog had descended, rolling through as it often did and instead of coming alone, it brought friends.

Lots of them.

Adorea picked those moments to simply waltz through them, this may not necessarily have been what these beasts had intended but their otherwise wispy and fogbased form stood little chance against the senshi as she strode with purpose and simply wandered right through them. Several Adorea shaped holes were left in the larger ones before they disintegrated, obviously those that hadn't yet formed completely before their formation and were therefore at their most vulnerable.

...And that was, for the most part, how the rest of her meandering went until something caught her eye and a sliver of familiarity tugged at her senses. As one senshi seemed to shake the other in an attempt to wake him up, she couldn't help but wonder why she felt so inclined towards him.

Another one of those hazy moments.

A quick diversion was all that was needed as she wandered towards the small group, whapping her hand through yet another fog born beast in the process until she was at last upon them.

Pale and very much ill equipped to fight, whoever that was had not had the best of times here it would have seemed.

"Hm," she mused as she regarded him thoughtfully before glancing towards Metis. "Not the best of times to meet your maker, is it?" She observed and pressed her fingertip to her cheek. If what Metis said was true, or at least the parts she'd overheard were true, then it stood to reason that it was perhaps a moment in which she should intervene.

He didn't look dead so...

It was with a crack of her knuckles that she readjusted her position and in those moments, called out one of her own spells. Suffice it to say that despite the fact she had succumbed to corruption, her abilities remained much the same and far from deadly.

"Adorea Optimistic Wink!"

It might not do much, but perhaps it would dust him off just enough for Metis's words to reach wherever the prone senshi was hiding...

Regardless, the young woman didn't seem to be inclined to stick around to find out, clasping her hands behind her back as she offered a smile; and though she had no particular direction in mind, it wasn't long before she had already meandered off elsewhere to explore what else might very well have lurked within the fog.

Only time would tell who or what she might find hidden within!

Adorea Optimistic Wink
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Adorea Optimistic Wink!
Adorea calls the name of her attack and winks; she or an ally will immediately feel like what they're doing is going to turn out better than okay; that it's going to be perfect and that the 'good guys' are going to win/get out alive.

Moderate wounds, bordering on heavy, will begin to heal for as long as this magic lasts. This magic will stop short of healing any heavy damage, but may buy a small fraction of time to allow someone to find a way to stem the blood and seek medical attention. This attack lasts 30 seconds and can be used twice a battle.

Sailor Alsafi - Basic - ...4!

Oh.

Oh no, ohg no[ there were a lot and Sailor Alsdafi didn't expect that, the senshi feeling panic rise up iunto her throat but barely stifling it to take a few kicks at one of them, well and truily afraid of subjectiong herself to a counterspell to her own magic already. Truthfully, trhe senshi would rather be fighting a corrupt or a Negaverse agent -- skirmishing people then running off letting them live was more her cup of tea, far more than some horrible SCP article that was goiung to kill her.

Kill was not something she wanted, and the senshi tried pivoting for a roundhouse kick like she saw in some moviues like The Karate Kid, pivoting in heels before catching her opponent, and falling on her back with a startled, ungracefuyl scream.

Lavendulan - Lieutenant Half Youma prompt 1

For the first time in what felt like days, Laven had actually fallen asleep. Exhaustion had finally gripped her so hard that she may as well have been dead, a train could have come tearing through the chamber and she would have been none the wiser. Which is, in essence, what basically happened when a large tree came crashing through the cellar.

Stress and anxiety did that to a person, half-youma or not.

Fortunately, Laven woke to the plume of dust and debris that came rushing into the room, and from beyond the fallen walls she heard the sound of voices, and one, in particular, called her name loud enough that it prompted her to get up and get out of this isolated prison she had been kept in for far too long.

Wolframite! Her mind called out in desperation as she claimed the tree behind one of the other prisoners.

Lavendulan - Lieutenant Half Youma prompt 2

A rolling sound of thunder shook the Lieutenant from her stupor when she finally spotted him about forty or so feet away in a mist of quickly thickening fog. The air around her chilled enough that she could feel it through her scales and she became acutely aware of how many were still missing on her backside from their encounter with the beast-like creature.

Laven began to run as the fog around them seemed to condense and take the form of white marble-like monsters, replicas of the beast that had been haunting them but these were cut from stone; imitations that were quickly multiplying. One made a grab for her arm but she swiped at it with sharp claws, where it gripped her would likely be a bruise, but she in turn had left that one with a generous scar.

She smirked.

However, when she turned to run the last few feet towards Wolframite, she watched helplessly as one of those ******** shoved him from behind. He stumbled towards her and Laven put her arm out to help brace him. "I can't help you fight if I hold on, trust me please?" She knew that he was in no condition to fight, that the small bottle of meds he kept with him were likely all gone. But to voice, those concerns would let those withing earshot know that he was either injured or sick.

Dark Mirror Basic Narcissus of Rejection l 4 R1
R1: 4

It would've been beyond foolish of him not to follow Diesel out of their shelter when a resounding crash echoed throughout the village. On one hand, he wasn't thrilled to investigate what may have caused such a noise: it wasn't like he had particularly offensive magic like his corrupt friend, and he wasn't as physically capable as Rakovanite had been.

But on the other hand Diesel hadn't asked for his opinion and was off and away before Narcissus could even protest. And even if he couldn't do anything, Narcissus still couldn't allow Rakovanite's little brother to run amok without some kind of backup...

"Don't run off!" Narcissus yipped as he followed after Diesel and into the forest.

It didn't take a genius to spot that the source of the sound was a large, downed tree, but what Narcissus couldn't wrap his head around was that whatever magic had been causing them to be stuck here must also have been broken. He could see more than just trees off in the distance, and he wasn't the only one. Many from the village leapt at the chance to roam a little farther from their shelters. Diesel and Narcissus were just two of a whole pack moving through he trees.

And two of a whole pack that was quickly descended upon by foggy creatures. They were large and shaped much like the monster that terrorized them at night. To Narcissus, this felt like another losing battle.

He didn't often lament the limited ability of his magic, but in this moment... He wished he could do more than keep close at Diesel's back and hope the younger and less experienced senshi could manage to keep them both safe.

Page Sawtooth of Saturn l 3 R1
R1: 3

He was having some trouble adjusting.

On a surface level, Sawtooth understood the mechanics of living in a place like this. He'd gotten his Boy Scouts badges. He liked outdoorsy activities. For a set amount of time, he could survive like this no problem. Easy as ******** cake. Seeing as most everyone seemed to be having trouble adjusting, Sawtooth actually thought he was making do better than most.

But his tolerance for this, like most things was finite. Sawtooth could craft soap to wash with. He could build fires and secure shelters and harvest his own food. But that wasn't something he wanted to do indeffinitely.

When he went camping, the deal was he usually got to go home afterwards.

Staying here just dragged on and on and on, though... Endlessly, with no answer to when they might be free. He couldn't teleport to his wonder to ask for advice, and no one around seemed familiar with these shenanigans, meaning this in particular probably didn't happen very often (he was still new at this Page thing. What constituted 'normal' hadn't been clearly outlined, yet). It was all anyone could do to just hope and wait and see if a sign appeared on the horizon.

Then, miraculously and without warning, it did. A tree was felled in the distance and the spell keeping them contained only to this village was broken. There were other areas of the forest to explore, and Sawtooth was among those heading for the trees as quickly as possible.

The only downside was what stood in the way.

Eternal Remarque - Roll 1

Remarque had not particularly intended for tonight to be the night that anything went down, but given how rapid things seemed to change, the second something seemed different, he was investigating.

Of course he expected trouble. How could he not? He lived in Destiny City.

It wasn't ideal, but he was prepared for it.

Fog creatures? Fine.

He had left with Arnica by his side, unwilling to leave him behind since they'd been staying together. It was easier to keep someone safe when you could keep an eye on them, anyway.

Sailor Arnica

Arnica had been trying to sleep when he first heard the noise outside--and then when he heard Remarque shift and get up. Their conversation had been brief; he had crawled out of bed immediately and they had gone into the forest together. If he had been alone, he might have been concerned--but with Remarque there, it was hard to feel like things were out of control. Maybe it was just because he seemed so calm about everything, or because he'd been around for so long, or because--underneath the guise of an Eternal Senshi, he was a Royal, but Arnica didn't feel nervous.

...Until there was a group of people.

And a bunch of foggy creatures attacking them.

But, Remarque was attacking them--everyone seemed to be attacking them, so he did too.

...He just stayed close to Remarque, in case things went downhill.

Mauvian Soleiyu - Roll 1

Being small was advantageous when you wanted to slip under the cover of the fog and try to hide from the strange fog creatures that had just appeared.

It was not so helpful when they seemed to see you anyway and tried to attack.

Soleiyu was incredibly limited in how much damage he could do in this form--and it really felt like he was just attacking fog when he did manage to swipe at the creatures.

...But he was okay, for now. Just alone, and not sure what was coming. The only saving grace was that he was white, in the fog, and...

Maybe that would buy him a little extra protection at some point.

Squire Mamertine - Roll 1

There was supposed to still be time for Mamertine to make it home safely before the trouble came out; the sun wasn't so low in the sky that he thought he'd have to deal with any sort of monsters when he first heard the tree hit the ground. Investigation was in his blood and he felt like he was high on adrenaline and questions, so naturally he'd sought it out.

He'd been staying with Marquette and assumed she was safe indoors when he went to investigate--and he was glad for that, as soon as the fog creatures first arrived. Others had already begun to fight them, and he wasn't shy about it either; his hammer made it easy to swing at them while keeping his distance.

He wished he'd gotten here earlier--wished he'd had the chance to investigate, but there would be time when all of this was over.

...Assuming it was that simple.

Quote:
MONSTER’S HP: 1209/1500

Though the fog creatures seemed to pop up as rapidly as they were defeated, it took only a moment or two before their numbers began to slow. They would fall into the fog and disappear, only to reemerge. Slower.

Slower.

For a moment, it seemed almost like they had all been defeated, but the bubbling beneath the layer of white was indication enough that something greater was stirring. The foggy haze seemed to froth and then, in a great gust of wind, it all seemed to be absorbed into a single point.

A pillar of fog collided together and shot into the sky, well above the trees. It was impossible to see anything within the tower of fog but slowly, a dark figure seemed to manifest. The trees rustled from the gust of wind and the fog began to slowly billow down from the sky, draping the land a thick, frigid haze.

It took only seconds for the creature to rise to its full height. It was dark, like no light could touch it, and it stood between the group and the thinning line of the forest.

It did not intend for them to escape.

With the massive antlers atop its head, the creature was easily ten feet tall. Its antlers stretched out five feet wide, but if that wasn’t mass enough, long feathers trailed behind it, easily six feet long. On their own, they were not so intimidating, just trailing behind it. But when the beast took a defensive stance and raised them into a massive fan behind it, the gravity of its presence was felt.

A thousand eyes seemed to stare at the group, and it almost seemed as though the eyes on the feathers watched them.

The monster was trembling, chest heaving and claws curled into weapons at its side.

The temperature continued to drop and it felt almost like ice crystals in the air.

Drawing back, the monster howled, with such ferocity that the trees seemed to bend away, and the fog chased its breath as the noise reverberated through the forest. It was loud enough to deafen, to disorient, but the fog had thinned enough to see where it was, what it was doing.

It was preparing to attack them.

Quote:
The monster has arrived and is preparing to attack! You have a limited time frame to get in a preemptive blow on the creature before it strikes! The fog has brought an unnatural chill and may have pushed people back or knocked them off balance, but for the time being there seems to be far fewer hallucinogenic properties than on previous nights.

Roll 2: Use RNG to determine how much damage you can do the to the monster before it can attack you!

  • If you have a civilian, a powered character using their civilian glamour, or a Mauvian in their cat form, please RNG 1-8 to determine how much damage you do.
  • If you have a first stage character, a Mauvian in their humanoid form, or a youma, please RNG 2-9 to determine how much damage you do.
  • If you have a second stage character or a Mauvian in their Mauvian Senshi form, please RNG 3-10 to determine how much damage you do.
  • If you have a third stage character, please RNG 4-11 to determine how much damage you do.
  • If you have a fourth stage character, please RNG 5-12 to determine how much damage you do.

Remember, your character cannot power up or down after they have arrived in this strange village so they should enter this battle and remain in whatever form they arrived in.

You may participate with as many characters as you like, however you must fill out all of your posts to be eligible for any post battle prizes. Please do not delete rolls if you make a mistake.

From here on out, please make sure you include your character's name and rank in bold red at the top of your posts when you roll! You do not need to include score or fill out your post immediately, but we need to know who you are rolling for. Please also make sure you include which roll you are posting for!

This is a team effort to defeat the monster! A low roll does not mean your character has to perform badly ICly. Dice rolls are an OOC function to determine how much cumulative damage the group has done to the creature. The group needs to do a minimum of 1500 damage to defeat him, but the more damage the group does, the more chances you have of walking with more than just your life…

Remember, your character can join this ORP at any point in time prior to the final post. If you miss a prompt, you can make it up at any point in time prior to the ORP Close with no penalty. The next prompt will be posted at ~8-9PM EST tomorrow!

General Jet | Roll 2

Jet froze for just a moment. He heard his name through the chaos around him, and he spun to try and see which direction Aquamarine’s voice had come from. Towards the flash of light he’d seen before, perhaps?

Another familiar sight was a squire he’d previously encountered and injured. Their eyes met and he sneered in her direction, but luckily for her he had more important things to worry about.

The shadowy figures around them were fading and replaced by the monster that had been terrorizing everyone. He had only seen glimpses of it before, but it was much bigger than he thought it would be. His heart sank at the thought of Aquamarine having to take on this creature alone.

Fingers gripped tightly around his weapon, even as the temperature dropped and the monster howled. Jet had to lift an arm to shield his face and cover at least one of his ears as he braced himself.

It was clearly getting ready to attack. And Aquamarine was out there somewhere.

With renewed determination, Jet dug his feet into the ground and charged forward as he was known to do. He swung his bladed weapon in such a way that he hoped to slash it right across the monster's chest, but if he missed then he could try and rip off its antlers.

Once this creature was dealt with, he would find Aquamarine.

Athalia - Senshi of Hercules Beetles - 4 | 6 |

Was this really where things came to an end?

There was something comforting about the ground beneath him, cold but solid, it was the only stable thing that he could rely on. What chaos lay beyond the silence of whatever realm he now wandered remained an unknown. Yet around him they fought, one by one cutting down beasts that had once paralysed them and caused such unbridled anguish. A battle was to be won and for now, those who had managed to evade the beast had chosen not to surrender.

For a time Metis's words remained unheard, what nudges, prodding and shakes came with them unnoticed. It was comfortable here, it was quiet and more importantly there was nothing in every shadow. Where he chose to 'wander' was safe and he was, for the most part, free.

And yet, as he rested in the depths of his mind, something managed to break down the door and the world around him began to rush back in. Surprisingly this wasn't an entirely overwhelming sensation, and even a small part of him seemed to acknowledge that it was welcome. A warmth came with it, an strange light, and more importantly...

Hope.

You need to wake up. You need to wake up now.

A shake.

Please.

A loud splinter of wood and a yell of a familiar voice hear and there; and then he gave one sudden, ragged breath. Eyes opened and as his vision cleared, he came face to face with -

"Metis?" He had sounded better, even to himself.

Another ragged breath and he cast his gaze back towards those who remained nearby, all of whom were embroiled in battle against something that he couldn't quite make out at this particular moment in time. He refrained from shaking his head as he began to rise though, sitting up to press a palm to his forehead as the beast released an unmistakable and fairly recognisable scream.

It would have come at no surprise to see his expression harden, but whatever magic had taken hold of him hadn't quite let him go yet and the fear that had once held him had been all but dispelled by whatever held him in its sway.
