At some point, Koray did begin to listen to Oduin. He could imagine the world he described so vividly, some from the details he talked about, some from Koray’s own memories of travel with his parents.

The world was incredibly huge and vast, no matter how much he had seen already, there were endless possibilities that still were set out before him.

Contemplating that made all his little worries and sadness seem so tiny and insignificant. Good things had happened today! He made a friend, and was saved and even had a good dinner and got to see the festival. It seemed such a shame to just let it end like this.

“Yes, this is me...” Koray hesitated, looking at the lights filtering out from the home, but did not go in. Instead, he took Oduin’s hand, pausing, struggling to find proper words to explain everything, and to apologize.

“Sir Oduin... I’m sorry, my attitude really went south, didn’t it? You went out of your way to help me, and I’m really, truly glad you found me too... Do you think that we’ll meet again...? Friends shouldn’t meet only once, right? I... I really don’t want this to be our first and last goodbye... I think I’d be sad forever if that happened...”

“Mhm, it was! And I love the toy you won me, so it’s a good memory night, for certain.”

The world was big, and... No matter how small people thought it could be, it was still bigger than the both of them. It was bigger than all the people in the world combined. But that didn’t mean he had to be pessimistic about it.

Especially if he could sow the seeds of their next meeting himself. Fate wasn’t simply a set thing. Even now, he could change it.

“I know we’ll be in the city for a few more weeks, and I know you said you got a meeting soon. Maybe you can come by after you have your meeting and tell me the good news, about what super fancy, super rich client you’re gonna have. If you do come by, I can maybe have something else for you, as a present! Maybe... A good luck charm? Or a new leather strap for your sword? Then if I have something for you, you’d come seem me again, right? You’ll have a reason to.”

"Then it's settled then! I look forward to seeing you again, Sir Oduin!" Hopefully everything would work out. Even if he very much did want Oduin to stay by his side, Koray wasn't so bitter to wish ill on his prospective jobs!

No, he'd keep being kind, and wanting the best for his new friend, although it made him a little sad.

"Thank you, again, for being so kind to me this evening, and helping me with all this. Good night, and please be safe on your way home!"
