[❖ Q ❖] Finally Content With Where I Am [❖ Q ❖] [- 637 words -] [- Isle Kiros -] [ Lumikani has lived a long life. She has marched to war, traveled in exile, and escaped to forge a new destiny. Through all of it, she saw two daughters grow to warriors and start their own families. With her life so long a fulfilled, Lumikani reflects on her past and what's left of her future. ] Lumikani found herself adrift on one of the many boats surrounding the isle. She wasn't heading to the mainland, nor heading back home, she simply was taking in the silence as she floated far enough away to not be pulled back in by the waves. Every so often she'd adjust her direction, keeping herself away in the silence as she looked down at the twilight reflecting in the waters.
The silence was perfect for the older Alkidike, especially after the chaos that greeted her a few days prior. She still couldn't believe the sight of her grand daughter fighting in the muck. On one hand she was proud of the girl to hold her own, but on the other the disappointment of seeing sisters fighting made her concerned about the future of the tribe.
She made this journey years ago to forge a future of peace. After seeing the Alkidike sisters torn apart by war, to the Elaria wishing to fight the earthlings of the land, Lumikani realized she was just too old and tired to deal with such chaos. She wanted a peaceful paradise where sisters worked to protect the Aishan way, and not ran off to kill those who were different. Since she was a youngling, she always believed that if the trees wished to bloom hybrids, than they must be valuable and of worth.
It was hard to watch as other disagreed, called them monsters and parasites. To be different herself, she couldn't understand why they'd accept her and not these young hybrids. The beauty of being bloomed was in itself a blessing, no matter the child that came from the petals.
Lumikani swore that this isle would be different, voiced her disagreements whenever she saw the prejudice creep up, and was proud of the result. The sisterhood was healthy, and she heard from the letters from her daughter that the other tribes were healthy too. The Elaria were accepting (abit begrudgingly) the hybrids of their own trees, and the Alkidikes were mingling with Earthlings. The Vandrea seemed to be peaceful as well, and Lumikani had faith that the future generations wouldn't face the war or heartache she herself went through.
She was content with the peace, and she hoped the others of Tendaji felt the same.
It was surprising, to sit out there wading in the water and realize she was content. It had been ages since she felt this way. Her muscles were relaxed, she was fine with wandering about and even avoiding work. She wasn't looking over her shoulder expecting a blade in her back. Her life was finally something to be proud of. She felt as if she had redeemed herself, and if she died tomorrow she wouldn't have any regrets.
Maybe this was what Aisha wanted her to do. To guide new generations and help them find peace and purpose in life. She'd be happy to educate others in a world of acceptance, with a focus on the true intent of Aisha...to protect the world for the next generation. That was the meaning of her life, and one she knew she did well.
She had raised two wonderful daughters, who in turn had three wonderful daughters of their own. The girls were growing to be rowdy, proud Aishans who wanted to see the world and make their own decisions. They might have been strange, but they were proud of that strangeness and willing to shout atop a mountain of how it was okay to be different.
Because they all were blooms from great mother trees, meant to protect and build a world for future generations. And if her impact on that world was a little more patience, a little more acceptance, than she could rest easy knowing she had done what she was meant to do in this world.
