Nix loved to run, jump, and race, that much was quite apparent. When Buzzi finally gave in to the exhaustion, he came around to perch on a nearby branch (rather like a Miqo’te might), still grinning...though he was definitely sweating and breathing heavily from the exertion.

“Well, just don’t barf on me,” he replied, “And we’ll be fine. I’m sure the trees don’t mind. Either way, you did a good job keeping up! And, you know, a camping trip could be fun...would need to bring some more supplies...all I’ve got is this water.”

He pulled a water bottle out of the air, and offered it to Buzzi. “Here, I think. You need it.”

“Yeah, though usually in Destiny City,” Nix replied as Buzzi drank. “Or the forests by there. I haven’t done it here too many times.” He looked around. “Sure, you can come on a camping trip with me some time. Might be good to bring a few people along. A, like, mapping expedition or something. Instead of just,” he gestured vaguely. “Running around.”

“And you probably won’t get eaten. Maybe.” He grinned.

"Oh," Nix replied, raising his eyebrows. "I see." He laughed. "Maybe...I think it'd be kind of, uh, taxing to take a bunch of people anyway."

"Let's go for a walk!" he agreed with a nod. "Maybe we'll spot something interesting we wouldn't see otherwise! Last time I was here, I found a like...fallen over building thing. Maybe a space ship...should probably find that again and try to get inside."

Nix seemed mildly surprised by the sudden hand-holding, but didn't actually object to it. Especially with the way Buzzi was staying in close.

"I don't think it's dangerous," he replied, smiling. "At least, not any more dangerous than anything else super old and abandoned." He shook his head. "Ancient booby traps aren't really a thing."

He paused briefly, considering what he just said.

"Okay, actually, maybe they are. We have magic and can teleport into space. Anything's possible. But don't worry!" He squeezed that hand in his. "I can keep you safe, definitely!"

"Uh, well, m-maybe," Nix replied, suddenly a bit flustered. "I mean, er, you know, it's not that I'm against it or anything, it just, you know, maybe we should...hang out a bit more? And I should probably figure out what the deal with the boy from school is before I do anything else, erm...romantic."

"Well, I guess so," Nix replied with a shrug and a laugh. "So, you're saying you 'date' all your friends?" He rubbed his cheek with a finger. "I guess that's one way to look at it. But, you know, it's not really the same thing...Er. You know. I'm pretty sure."

This was definitely territory where Nix was not so super confident.

So, naturally, he paused to pick up a rock. "You know, the weirdest thing about this place is that there's nothing but plants alive, as far as I can tell...see? No bugs." He showed the dirty, ever so slightly damp, underside of the rock.

"I don't," Nix replied, dropping the rock. "I wonder if it's just been like this, unchanging, for however long it's been, just waiting," he said softly. "Waiting for me, I guess..." He had the vague sense that it was exactly as he thought...and that may have been why he thought that.

"Something weird happened here, I'm sure...But what, I don't know. Not yet."

"Well, maybe a bit ominous," Nix replied with a shrug. "But like, whatever was on all our worlds disappeared, died, or otherwise went away like a thousand years ago. So, it's all a bit spooky."

"I guess that triggering is what I'm feeling, though I dunno what I've, er, remembered yet. It's too broken up." He shrugged. "There's more to worry about on Earth than here right now, I think, so I won't be here all the time...you've got time to get stronger!"
