Kapoodles
He didn't think he missed December when they weren't near to one another. Nataniel's traitorous body of course craved companionship and the contact of another human being almost indiscriminately, but he didn't lend much thought to the younger man specifically when December wasn't directly before him. His thoughts focused on tasks and information of the present, and Nataniel preferred that they didn't deviate from that. It didn't leave a lot of room to 'miss' something that wasn't there.
His response was a quiet "Hm," of a sound as he reached for the knob and quietly opened the door. There didn't seem to be much else to say in the moment that would differ greatly from what he'd already expressed the previous night.
"You can come over tomorrow," Nat muttered in a whisper, watching the dark and empty hallway beyond his bedroom door like something would be there. "But nothing has changed. I still have priorities more important than you, and you have no right to expect anything more of me than you have previously. I have classes to study for and engagements with others that fill my schedule. If it displeases you, then you can stop bothering me." He stepped from the room, clicking the door shut behind him and moving toward the bathroom for that shower he kept thinking about.
