Toby laughed at first, but then blinked in surprise as he really did start taking off his vest. He quickly held his hands out. "No, no, that's alright," he sputtered. "You can...keep your clothes on, yeah." He shook his head. "I'm sure it looks better on you, anyway! Yeah."

"Besides, isn't your job to sit here and eat snacks while playing around with crafts with me? What's the difference?" Possibly not his strongest argument ever conceived, given that it was really just as good an argument for swapping outfits.

The better argument would probably have been something about how cheerful and bright Toby's outfit looked, but he didn't think of it.

Based on their whole exchange so far, Toby was sure Izzy didn't mean it this way, but...he still said with a small smirk, "So, you're telling me you'd like to see me in a frilly maid costume?" After a second he added half-jokingly, "And...are you offering me a job?" Then he took another bite of his sandwich.

His mom had told him she wanted him to get a job, although he was pretty sure she meant next summer...

Toby shrugged lightly at the lack of answering, but looked rather sad at the goodies held hostage.

"Well, uh," he was suddenly flustered again. Funny how someone could go from easy confidence to nearly-studdering hesitation. "I told you...it's...because I think it looks cute, and I like cute things." He smiled slightly in spite of himself and added, "And you remind me of an anime dressed like that."

"So...trust me, I mean it in a good way."

Toby nodded along with Izzy's train of thought, his face quite red. As much of a social butterfly as he was, what he just admitted (sort of, anyway) wasn't really something he'd ever said before. Granted, he hadn't really had that many crushes, either.

He wasn't really sure this was a crush, to be honest, but he did find Izzy to be.. "intriguing," and the outfit didn't hurt...

...And then Izzy entirely missed the implication. Toby leaned slightly to look over there as well. There was, indeed, a girl in a maid costume. He had barely registered her existence previously.

His jaw hung open in surprise for a moment before he recovered his senses enough to say, "Erm...y-yeah, that compliment is all yours. No question." He eyed the food tray again. "I'd like to try that concha now, if it's..alright with you?" he let out a small laugh at that.

Okay, Toby thought, as he smirked at Izzy's response and picked up the concha. Maybe I do have a crush...now...

Not that coming to that conclusion really helped with his composure.

"Sure thing," he said, still smirking all the same. "Only compliments for you, here. Promise." He put the concha over his heart briefly as a sort of 'solumn vow,' then bit into it.

"Oh, that is good," he said, a bit of sugar flicking out of his mouth as he declared that.

"Thory," Toby replied, and did his best to not scarf the rest down...although he didn't get very far before Izzy was "cleaning" his face, and Toby froze briefly.

When he was done getting his face smeared, Toby stuck his tongue out, then ran a finger through the pink stuff on his face, and then quickly leaned forward to 'paint' a line down Izzy's cheek. "Oh, I know," he replied, laughing. "The grossest."

He certainly could gross people out as Nix easily...at least, that seemed to be a common reaction to his tongue.

"Now lemme enjoy this thing!"

Toby laughed again, pleased that he didn't get a bad reaction. "Yes sir," he replied playfully. "thanks, that's some high praise from you." He snickered, and then focused on finishing up eating.

"This is good stuff," he said again, this time more careful to not make a mess.

...Though, he hadn't actually bothered to clean off his face while he finished off the concha.

"Guess I should go wash my hands before I finish, huh? Where's the bathroom?"
