It was work, and the kind of work that Sadie usually procrastinated horribly on. There may have been a stack of pizza boxes piling up in her kitchen that she still hadn't quite gotten the energy to take down to recycle.
Space gave her that energy, though. It was always a boost, just to be up here, and something like cleaning became an adventure, an exploration, an act of healing.
'Yeah," she said, smiling. "Yeah, let's do that. I'll help you clean."
Stale bread was a low price to pay for getting to spend some extra time on another world.
