Meandering into her usual hidden home for a quick cuddle up in her favorite blankets on a cold day wasn't out of place for the corrupt guardian cat. She rather liked these cold days with gentle snowfall. A small lull in her days helped drive her to her secondary home, a purr leaving her as she curled up in the overly soft blankets and plush pillows. She was happy to doze, sleeping much of her day away- at least until the universe decided it had other plans.

At first, she was certain she was imagining things. Paw (wait- she had a hand? Oh of course she did, hadn't she always had hands?) swatting at the ball of light. But the giggling childlike sounds had her peering at it with suspicion. Eyes narrowed as she followed it, curious as to what trouble was afoot and why it had sought her out. Blinking, she didn't think much of how long she followed, or how she went from her second home to the winter carnival to the ice maze and was left in the company of what she could only call 'fairies' for no other reason than perhaps having no other thing which to describe them as. It was all in all, a rather queer thing, and had her unworried, (perhaps the most strangest thing of all given what was transpiring).

What was apparent however was the cold- it had begun to seep past her clothes and make her chilled and the more she lingered the colder she began. Shaking herself of some snow as it fell, she looked to find anything that might offer shelter or warmth. Blessedly, smoke rose above the treeline and she gave a final pause to the fairies before heading in the direction of the plumes. With luck, she hoped to find a fire, or at least, a place lacking in cold winter's chilly grasp. Snow was hardly helpful and the thought of even some basic covering was welcomed.

As she arrived to the source of the smoke, Enyo gasped at the sight in front of her. How in the world had a fight of such magnitude broken out? Where was everyone? The agents? The corrupt senshi? He looked for those who she thought of her allies only to find the place void of them. And the two forces- As the man in white came, she followed, compelled to assist as she looked to the enemy. Rats- huge and inhuman and almost like youma but rather these were monsters. Ugly things. Moving to follow her ally new, the sudden compulsion worsened and her foot tapped something.

A spear of dark blue crystal, she grabbed it knowing it was her own, and that she would need it soon enough. And not a moment after it was in her hands did the rats, vile things, vermin they were began their assult. Charging forward Enyo snarled, a battle cry, a war cry that she could not recall having ever learned leaving her mouth as she ran the first rat through. One by one she fought them, her spear swinging through the air like poetry- a song of war for war and glory and victory- her song, one she knew in her blood, in her bones.

She knew how to fight she knew war- this was as a part of her as breathing. It was in her very nature. Her soul.

The vermin sent back she let out another war cry- familair but yet unknown. As her vision swirled and swam she smiled as she found herself anew once more. Regalia so hauntingly familiar, the dark leathers and crystalline adornments things she felt comfortable in. A home even in wearing.

Victory and glory- she had it. Going to a nearby tray of snacks, she plucked a small morsel and ate it with glee. Truely, her voctory was sweet.

Mel attacked the rats with glee and wild abandon. He lost the sword somewhere in the melee but that didn't stop him, it wasn't until the rats turn and ran that he had to stop. He wanted to go after them but every step he took was delayed, that and he was already breathing heavenly and quite tired. Meow... he wanted a nap. Some place warm and quiet where he could curl up and sleep.

The dark skinned human yawned and let out a curious little mew as he stretched and absently let the others around him lead him to hopefully a quiet little spot for a nap. Between one yawn and the next the now human cat found himself in a large ballroom with a bunch of people in glittery outfits, himself included. After checking his own outfit out, which included sniffing and even licking it a little, Mel immediately ignored the change. Instead he followed his nose towards the food. What did he care about the humans swirling around him trying to chat him up, there was free food! Yummy, yummy fooooooood! And he was starving! Famished! Dying from hunger! He was all skin and bones and fur... uh hair?

It didn't matter anyway since he immediately started in on the copious amounts of food. And it was so sweet too! Yum! The only thing that drew a frown from him was the sweet tuna... tuna shouldn't taste like that. With a little mrow of annoyance he turned from his favorite food in the entire universe to munch on the rest. His plate piled high with sweets and meats and everything else. After a little bit even his tummy was full... and he was bouncy.

With a broad smile he bounced around, dancing and just having fun. He was a human. He had hands. Eating was so much easier now. Playing games would be the best when he got home. So many things to do with hands. He was so enamored with his own hands that he wasn't paying attention to anything and promptly ran into, almost over, two people, two girls. A small blond girl and a older lady with pretty rainbow hair. "Ooooooo I like your hair! How do you get it that way? Is it natural? Have you tried the food yet? Its so good! Look I have hands!" He stuck his hands out and wiggled the fingers.

Whether as a cat, or now as a human, Etoile was good at being underfoot and in the way, small as she was. Usually, someone would 'rescue' her by scooping her up and allowing her to ride on their shoulders, but right now, she wasn't exactly... a cat.

As such, when someone bumped into her, Etoile let out a little surprised squeaky meow, the tiny girl stumbling as she held onto her plate with an iron grip, hoping to not drop any of the precious pastries. There was food here, and she was going to eat it if it was the last thing she did!

Which, given current events and Etoile's ignorant nature, could very well come true.

Cynthia had barely any time at all to really take in the situation. First she was pretty sure she was dreaming. Hopefully. She didn't know if she could be randomly teleported to places but when it came to this magic and Negaverse stuff, who knew. She could tell that there had been a fire in the distance, and while it could have been a group of bandits that were waiting for any unfortunate victim to cross their path, she had decided to take a chance and head towards it.

When she got closer however, she could hear the sounds of a battle, and the shadowy figures of other people, both human and... rat? What the f-? Why was she dreaming about battling and rats? When she was finally within a short distance of... whomever the rats were fighting, some guy started to speak to her, gave her a sword and had practically thrown her in the middle of battle. Considering she could barely hold the sword she... was more of a problem to her "side" than to the enemies, and was only able to run to the side and watch as the battle raged on.

Suddenly though, the rats were retreating, which hopefully meant that the fighting was over. Thank goodness. She was useless when it came to non-magical battles, or ones where she was at a disadvantage using her fists and feet.

When she blinked however she was at a ball. The battle entirely forgotten, she could see that she was decked out in quite the dress. She made a face at it, this being the second time, or at least she thought, that she was forced into something this girly and she really didn't care for it.

The food and drinks smelled delicious though and she decided that she wanted to try some of it! She went over to one of the food tables, and took what looked like a slice of some sort of meat, took a bite and immediately spit it back out. "Why does meat taste like candy?!" That was clearly an abomination to everything. Meat, tasting like candy! Unless it was candy in the shape of meat, then it was just awful that someone would do something to such food! She was immediately angry and looked around to see who was in charge of this "ball" so she could tell them off about how gross their food was!

Queenie Powers

As the rats ran off, she felt a surge of triumph blossom from within her. Granted, she accredited her sword abilities to the fact she was controlling the dream (right???) but it was satisfying all the same.

Well, that is, until she realized she was no longer fighting off giant rats but... in a ballroom, instead????

Frowning, Queenie glanced down to see herself in gorgeous attire -- the sort of gown she'd dreamed of wearing to fancy affairs once she came into wealth. It was like a dream come true and a tease at the same time; feeling this wonderful sensation but knowing it wasn't real.

She made a disgruntled sound as a woman rudely bumped into her but she didn't say anything, choosing to merely nod in acknowledgement as the woman apologized.

After all, acting huffy was certainly not what a socialite would do in such matters... right?

Hearing the familiar voice Xi-Wang turned away from the food, a plate in his right hand, and smiled bright towards the incoming figure. "Jason!" Oh! He was glad to see the other, he was glad Jason was here. There were so many people here, almost too many, and he really did need the others company right now. Shifting the mostly empty plate to his left hand, for now, he grasped at the others clothing with his right hand. Holding onto the others clothing he shifted closer to him.

"It is really big here...and so many people." It was nice, being honored like they were, but there were too many people and while the clothing was nice it felt off on him...like it was too form fitting and wasn't meant to be. he didn't like how form fitting the clothing was; it made him look too tall and slender. He wanted to hide and look smaller, shorter, and right now it wasn't possible.

"Everything's gone so fast but it's good, we're all safe now." The rats were gone, not defeated but gone.

Trumpets suddenly sound from balcony above calling attention to the throne at the back of the ballroom. A woman emerges from purple currents as all those who had been serving you bow to her. Stunning as she is, you can’t help notice the fact she appears like a Snow Queen dressed all in white.

Her eyes sought out Jason in the crowd, before she had even had a chance to introduce herself, and she smiled. Her introduction was brief, and you know she said something about who she was, and what was going on with the battle, you just can't remember. It makes sense, in your heart, you know this, even if the information is just out of reach...

But you do catch one thing, particularly.

"--And the mighty hero, Jason, who came to our defense in our time of need, deserves the utmost praise. We had many brave warriors join us in our battle, but none compared to his might. I have a gift to present, as gratitude. Please, step forward."

She waited for him, eyes kind and compelling, and turned to a a servant behind her who stood, holding a chest in his hand.

Just as she reached behind her to open the chest, a low rumbling shook the castle grounds and caught her off balance. She froze, eyes wide and waiting. The rumble was soft at first but just as quickly, the large doors burst open revealing an enormous rat. He stands taller than those before, and great, malicious shadows twist around him. With a wave of his hand, the shadows sharpen into points and almost seem to crawl like spiders.

With a snap of his fingers, the shadows lunge and cover the room, snuffing out every light and fire and shrouding the room in darkness. Only the faint glow of the moonlight from outside the floor to ceiling windows reveals him--and the remnants of his army, filling the ballroom.

The light is minimal, but you catch an undeniable glint of sharp, white teeth--The King of Vermin sneers and then charges forward, heading directly towards the snow queen.

You can feel the shadows twisting around you, prickling your skin. Whether you want to help the queen or not, it's only a matter of time before one of the soldiers finds you--or before these shadows swallow you whole.

It seems like your battle isn't over yet.

If this was a dream, it's turning into a nightmare!

Unlike before, no weapons appear before you but you are free to use anything within the room (within reason; if you have questions, please contact a member of RP Staff or PM the shop mule to ask!)

To participate in this battle, everyone should roll 2d10! The first number is how much damage you do to the rat king. The second is how much damage you take! Every player should roll at least once to proceed with the story and be considered for any dice related rewards but you are allowed to roll every hour until the next prompt or until you run out of HP. All players will have 15HP! Once your HP reaches zero, you will find yourself falling unconscious; you will not be able to participate beyond this point if you fall unconscious!

Rolling multiple times will increase your chances of a higher total score but does risk losing all of your HP; if you fall unconscious you will not be eligible for rewards!

At the top of your post, please include your TOTAL value for attack score (if you are rolling more than once, add both rolls) and your TOTAL remaining healthy (if you are rolling multiple times, make sure you add the damage you received from both rolls).

Leopleuradon
Congratulations, Leo! You rolled the highest during the last dice roll prompt and the queen has acknowledged your valiant efforts! It seems she has a prize for you! Note:If you roll multiple times and fall unconscious, your character will still ICly receive the prize she is presenting you with for your high roll there! We will post the full information with the closing post for the ORP!

Gigi remembered raising her sword in triumph, her arms aching from the effort and the war wounds. She must have zoned out, then, exhausted. When she next lifted her arm, the sword was gone. The forest too, and the battlefield. She was in a castle now, and music replaced the clash of weapons. And a voice that was telling her how well she’d done.

She stared at the unfamiliar speaker, unsure what exactly she’d done to earn their praise. Everyone around her was beautifully dressed – and so was she, in a dusky pink gown, more suitable for a Disney princess than a warrior. She liked the ruffles on the overskirt, though. Her subconscious knew her too well. She stepped away from the conversation to give it a twirl, watching the fabric flare out around her. Her head didn’t stop spinning when the skirts did. Gigi stumbled to a halt, clutching at the nearest person for balance, but they just popped a wineglass into her hand and pushed her gently away.

But I don’t drink, she thought, the dizziness still remaining.

Daisy would have happily spent time admiring the Queen and munching on snacks. But no. The moment, she heard the rumble, she knew bad things were about to happen. And when the giant rat appeared with it's shadows, she found herself dearly wishing that she could transform. At least then she could use her magic to illuminate the rats and give the rest of them a chance.

And of course they had no weapons in this too grand room! Still, she refused to go down without a fight. Blessing whoever had placed her in flats, Daisy seized a tray of drinks from one waiter and flung her arms out, sending the drinks smashing into rat faces. From there, she treated the tray as an all purpose a** kicker, smashing it into random faces and necks.

She was unable to remain unscathed, hissing in pain as the shadows and rat claws caught her. But hey! At least they were doing her a sort of favor and destroying the gown enough to allow her easier movement!

Trumpets did nothing for her head. Gigi hung onto her glass in case the speech was going to require a toast. It was something about the battle, she gathered, but either they needed better acoustics, or she needed a better head. The words were heard, understood, and then they slipped from her fuzzy brain again. She rubbed her forehead. Was that rumbling applause?

Gigi shrieked when the doors flew open, ducking down behind the table she’d been using as a support. The fine castle wineglass caught on the table edge, cracking. Gigi stared at the broken shard, as the lights were swallowed up by sharp shadows. She rose, turned, and hurled the glass and its pieces at the invaders. It must have struck, because soldiers turned, and shadows seemed to deepen around her. She ducked back down, under the tables, vaguely aware of stinging cuts that didn’t seem to have come from the broken glass.

There was an irritated huff (albeit a quiet one as the woman praised some stranger for his valiant efforts instead of her own. Shouldn't she be the one being praised, if it was her dream??

There wasn't much time to act offended, though, as the Rat King himself appeared from out of seemingly nowhere. Queenie promptly decided to prove her worth by attacking... only to end up being far more hurt, herself, than the damage she inflicted on the monster.

Whoops.

Jason McClayre Jr.
Attack:
8
HP: 8

Jason was used to attending large parties such as this. He hadn't even been to anything quite this fancy, he wasn't royalty or anything, but he was used to strangers coming up and talking to him. Normally he'd be quite social in this situation, but he knew how Xi was and that he had to be around here somewhere. He didn't mind at all when his friend held onto him. Hopefully this time they wouldn't get separated again.

"It isn't so bad, though it is the fanciest thing I've ever seen." He reached over and took a bite from the plate that Xi was holding. The food was very, very sweet. It didn't really bother him at all, he loved his sweets.

"It's all a bit of a blur really, but can't complain too much about a good thing." He still didn't like that they had gotten away, but at least they were celebrating in style. He was about to say something else and grab his own food when the trumpets rang out from the above. Everyone turned their attention to the throne then and the servants around them all bowed. Were they supposed to bow as well?

He didn't have much time to consider it. The Queen was quite beautiful, this was who they were fighting for, right? And for some reason she was looking right at him. With that beautiful smile. He felt the blush creep across his face. What was he thinking right now? It was hard not to be a bit enchanted by her.

If he had been drinking anything when she called out to him it would have come back up through his nose. Mighty hero? Did her really deserve this kind of attention? Well, he couldn't very well deny her kindness.

"I'll be right back Xi." He gave Xi's hand a little squeeze and then approached the Queen. He held his head high, even though he knew everyone was watching him and it was causing his pale face to turn a bright red.

"Thank you my Queen, you are too kind. It was an honor to come to your aid." He bowed, because that just seemed like the right thing to do in this sort of situation. But, before anything more could happen the room shook as the doors outside were swung open. He had his back turned to them at first, but when he finally did turn around there was a huge rat at the entrance. The lights were snuffed out and they were once again under attack.

This was why he had wanted to finish off the rats in the first place. The Queen was in danger though and the giant rat king was coming right at them. Why didn't he have his sword here with him now? There wasn't anything up here to improvise with either. Just the Queen, her throne, the servant, and him. Versus a giant Rat King. He tore his overcoat off his shoulders and threw it at the King as he approached, hoping to either blind him so he couldn't swing his sword as accurately, or at least annoy him a bit.

"Get yourself somewhere safe." He looked back to the Queen and her servant for just a second before rushing at the King. His fist made a good connection, but then the King seemed to have a good answer in return.

Evren Porter
Attack: 6
HP: 12

One second she was helping fight off an army the next she was at a ball. Evren held her head as everything felt instantaneous so she was getting whiplash. ...Also, when did she change her clothes? Evren let out a deep breath maybe if she got a snack she would feel better.

But before she could do anything things seemed to shift again. While the scenery didn't change the Queen seemed to have an air about her.... and before she could award someone with a gift the ball was invaded. Shadows twisting as it seemed to do the Vermin King's bidding. Taking a deep breath she grabbed onto her dress.

As her shoes clanked against the floor as she ran towards the enemy. With a running start, she was able to land a decent hit and manged to get away with just a graze on her shoulder. Firey hair falling around her shoulders quickly moved to find a safe spot to wait for another opening. Bright side that being a senshi has her night job has made her quite used to strange battles.
