It was strange, thinking that a Pokémon could know more about someone than they did about themselves, but he didn’t doubt it. He nodded. “Maybe he could,” he said. “I wish I’d known before,” he muttered. “Then I’d have better control over it.”
He was impatient. How long would Eilam take? He wanted to invite those kids, get them excited for what they were about to experience. “Do you think they’ll like the cabin?” He asked.

"Well, you know now and you just have to work on it. It sometimes take a little practice to get it working right. And yes, I think they will like it, though some may do their grumbling. Don't let them deter you, they like to hear themselves complain. Like Paian will say what is wrong with just staying home, isn't it the people that matter?"she giggled.

Noah had expected Paian to complain at least, and Dea did a pretty good impression of him. He chuckled. “He does like to hear himself complain, doesn’t he,” he said. “I hope they like it.” He’d spent a lot of money on the cabin, he wanted everyone to have a great Christmas.
“Do you think you can teach me to control it?”

Complaining was Paian’s favorite thing? Somehow, Noah didn’t find that hard to believe. In fact, he chuckled. “I guess there is an awful lot to complain about in life,” he said. It was a funny way of showing people he cared.
“Eilam is taking forever,” he said.

There was was! Noah lit up when he saw Eilam. “I was worried none of them would want to participate,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. He startled slightly when Timmy sat next to him. Oh, right. He was one of the ones Dea had caught after he’d gone away.
“Sorry,” Timmy muttered. “Eilam won’t tell us what you’ve got planned.” Krissy perched near Dea, and Tristan remained standing.
“Mommmm, I was in the middle of learning to dance with Fluff.”

Noah hesitated for a long time after Dea invited him to tell everyone their plans. How would this work? He didn’t want to upset anyone, even Paian, and Dea had already warned him about Paian’s grumbling.
“I rented us a cabin,” he began awkwardly. “For Christmas. I thought we could get a tree and decorate it. There’s one outside we can decorate for wild Pokémon too. There’ll be tons of snow. We can go sledding! We can go on a sleighride. Whatever you like.”

Everyone was quiet as Noah finally gave the announcement, then as they digested what he said.
"Why can't we just celebrate at home?"Paian asked, Dea shooting him a look as he said that.
"It is something that will give us a chance to go on a vacation. When was the last time we really got to be away from home?"she pointed out, Eilam nodding his head in agreement to his trainer.

Noah had known that was coming. He didn’t really have an answer for that. Dea’s home still didn’t feel like his home, not yet. Dea knew how to answer him, though, and he smiled.
“I thought it would be fun,” he said. “We can get to know each other better without the distractions of technology and the busy-ness of life.”

Paian still didn’t seem keen on the idea but Noah decided to ignore him for the time being. He wanted everyone to enjoy this trip, but he didn’t want to force anyone. He knew Paian could be cankerous on even his best days. He seemed to be happiest that way.
“I thought we could go on the sleighride,” he said. Would the rest of them feel the same as Paian?

"Can we do some cooking and hot chocolate?"Teddy piped up his question. Since becoming a boy, he still had a great fondness for chocolate, in all of its forms.
"Oh hot chocolate will be a must,"Dea assured.
"As for sleigh riding, I have never tried it. Is it fun?"Lucy asked.
