Prompt 3 The carriage heads straight for the dense forest in front of you, the poor stallion still running at top notch speed away from.. well, whatever initially spooked the beast. As the vehicle lurches and rocks from side to side, you find that there's an even more ominous threat laying straight ahead of you.
Rather -- right at eye level with you!
Branches loom in the air like spindly, gnarled fingers reaching for you and you'll have to utilize your best dodging skills to avoid getting smacked (or worse!)
Dawn saw the tree branches coming a mile away. Some might say she was clever. Some might say she was lucky. She just was still in the bottom of the Carriage with the lump her head. She quickly pulled the blanket over her. It was enough to shield her from all but the smallest of branches that scratched and prodded at her. Little scrapes here and there – this was not turning out to be the ride she imagined. She was getting mangled – this was no joke. She was frightened for her life as the Carriage jostled along. The Carriage Ride of her Dreams was quickly turning into the Carriage Ride of her Nightmares.

Prompt 4 Just as you think you've made your way out of the worst of the forest, a series of ominous howls close by assures you that you definitely have not seen the worst. It doesn't take long for the wolves to appear from within the shadows. Golden eyes and snarling fangs begin the chase - whether they're going after your poor horse or after you is still yet to be determined.
Wolves! Just when Dawn was breathing a sigh of relief too. She lifted the blanket just in time to reach up and grab a wayward branch, as the carriage lurched forward. It snapped clean off into her hand. Yes, thank the Cauldron! She had a weapon against the creatures! Rap! Rap! She hit one, then another! One snarled and backed away. Another snapped at her hand but missed by three inches. Dawn smacked a third away from the horse that was about to sink its fangs the Stallion’s left hamstring. The horse whined in fear. “I know,” gritted Dawn; she was just as afraid.

Prompt 5 The wolves seem to fall back and you're grateful for whatever reason they decided to abandon their hunt... until you glance back towards the front of the carriage and see the choppy water of the cold, rushing river ahead of you. Your horse doesn't seem to think about the potential of drowning as it drags you and your vehicle into the water, splashing as he tromps his way forward.
Time to decide whether or not you're going to sink or swim!
Dawn noticed that the wolves were pulling back, and she breathed another sigh of relief until she looked forward. “Oh no!” She said and swore, as she saw the river rushing across their path just ahead. The Stallion didn’t seem to notice as he trod straight into it splashing huge gushes of water everywhere. Dawn curled up tight as she could and managed somehow to miss every drop of water. Who knew, maybe she was just in the right spot at the right time of the Carriage, or maybe it was timing, but she made it out dry as a desert heat. What the hell was next?

Prompt 6 As the stallion leaves the river and climbs his way back up onto the banks, he seems to finally be tuckered out from all of the excitement and exercise. Although his trot is significantly slower, the animal seems to know where it's going and soon you're approaching a small field with an array of flowers - an odd sight to see in the middle of winter but it's there, nevertheless.
As the beast comes to a halt to begin munching on a few of the colorful flowers, a small, sparkly burst of color zips by your head and for a second, you wonder if your tired mind is playing tricks on you.
All mangled and exhausted from the Carriage Ride, Dawn laid down for a minute herself. Her ears were ringing, the lump on her head throbbed, and her scrapes and scratches stung badly. Wondering if she had a concussion from hitting her head, (seeing the sparkles that is – she didn’t believe in fairies), she pulled the blanket over her. There was a sudden chill in the air, out of habit, only to find that the river dunking soaked it. Yuck. How was she to explain this to Laurie, her foster mom? Achoo! Worst, she felt a cold coming on! Salvation was here!
A nearby carriage arrives, apparently having witnessed your dunk into the treacherous river. The worried looking driver hops down from his cart and quickly takes your horse's reins, securing it before assisting you down from your ride. The riders on his carriage scoot over to allow you room to join them. In about ten minutes, you're returned back to the clearing where you started at - your adventure is now over. You may want to reconsider, the next time you want to take a carriage ride out into the woods!

What a clever person you are! The duo's bumpy adventure continued onward as the runaway carriage continued to be pulled along by the spooked horse, the two cats clinging on for dear life. They were quickly approaching the nearby forest, which had even more threats in store for the Mauvians- lots and lots of branches, that surely would smart if they were to hit the poor kitties. Sure enough, Etoile witnessed Bernard get hit by a particularly large branch, which certainly had to hurt, before realizing another branch was heading right for her. Quickly, because she didn't fancy getting hit or knocked down again, she dove under the blanket meant to be used by the usual more human passengers, joining the larger cat at the bottom of the carriage. "I don't think I like this very much," she whined.

Let's just hope your horse still has some energy left in him to get you out of this bind. 7-10: A wayward branch passes by you as your carriage lurches forward, fortuitously finding its way into your hand and snapping clean off the tree it came from. As if a gift from some higher being, you take advantage of this blessing and use your new "weapon" to fend you (and possibly any loved ones) from the ravenous wolves around your carriage. Bernard shook his head a bit, the pain from the branch hitting him finally subsiding, though it took a few more moments for the lights in his eyes to go away, but when he did, he looked over to Etoile who had joined him in the carriage and nodded. "Yes, it seems that this ride was a mistake." He knew he wouldn't be getting into a carriage anytime soon once this was over!
For a moment he thought that they were finally safe, hoping the horse wouldn't run itself off of a cliff or something, when suddenly howling could be heard. Bernard's fur stuck up, his ears were down, they were under attack! And when he moved his head up to look, the wolves were right on them! Even snapping at them from the sides! Bernard sent out a kitty beam at the one that seemed to be closest to Etoile, but it wasn't enough. The aim would have to be precise for the beam to work.
That was when he noticed a branch that had fallen into the bottom of the carriage, and moving as quickly as he could, he managed to grab it with his paws, and then push it out as quickly as he could towards a wolf that had been snapping it's jaws at them, hitting it in the face!
Bernard grumbled. He did not need this kind of "excitement" in his life!

Golden eyes and snarling fangs begin the chase - whether they're going after your poor horse or after you is still yet to be determined. Let's just hope your horse still has some energy left in him to get you out of this bind. 4-6: Grabbing your shoe from off your foot (or your partner's, if it's easier to access), you promptly smack the closest wolf on the snout with the rubber sole. It lets out a sorrowful cry, its mate quick to the rescue by snatching the shoe from out of your hand. You managed to scare at least two of them off but at the cost of your footwear. Congrats....? As if things couldn't get worse, suddenly there were wolves. Wolves! Etoile had never seen one up close, or in person, but that didn't mean she wanted to see one now! If there was one thing for certain, it was that she didn't want to become dog food... wolf food, whatever food- she was pretty sure she didn't taste good, for one! And it was almost Christmas too- think of all the candy canes she wouldn't get to steal, or the gingerbread houses she wouldn't get to demolish...! Bernard seemed to have the right idea with the kitty laser beam, and Etoile shot one out as well, though it wasn't enough to deter the wolf. Then the bigger cat had found a branch and had manged to scare off another wolf... but there were none to be found for Etoile. Conveniently, though, Etoile found a shoe instead, perhaps left behind somehow by a previous rider and never claimed, which was great, because cats didn't wear shoes. Maneuvering it was a little awkward, given her small stature, but she managed to land a hit in the end... only for another wolf to snatch the shoe away. "Shoo! Go away! I don't want to be eaten!" came the distressed wailing from the little cat. Perhaps some of Alise's penchant for the dramatics had rubbed off on her... or Etoile was just capable of being dramatic herself. SSBrosB shoe ex machina?

Pythia 1 - 3
Everyone was supposed to love a sleigh ride. At least, that was what Pythia Adler had always been told, by the Corporate Christmas Machine and the constant assault of Carols; if so, what better way to enjoy her extra-credit-enforced trip to this little event than by doing the one thing that basically everyone and their mother would want to do? Having no friends, of course, meant she didn't have to concern herself with the pleasantries of asking someone else if they shared her (lack of) interest in going on this little adventure; she just got in line, and played on her phone as the carriages made their way around and about. The pictures, at least, would surely be enough (alongside the reindeer pillow) to assure that her professors had the appropriate proof of her participation.
Finally, before she even realized it, it was her turn; Pythia allowed the people to get off, and made her way over to the ride. Great- she had to step into it, and that moron driver, of course, wasn't going to hand her up into the carriage or anything- she had to pull herself up into it! That was some s**t customer service, wasn't it? Then again, it was free, so should she really be complaining? Who was she kidding- her mother would be beside herself if she didn't complain. Which... made Pythia keep her mouth shut as she lifted her snow-soggy shoe up to the carriage.
Began to rise- and began to fall, as her foot slipped and she fell forward, overcompensated so she didn't hit her face, and promptly fell onto her back in the snow. Oh, bloody fu*k. This was why no one ever should actually like these STUPID little sleigh rides. Dashing through the snow her a**, though this was, definitely, a one horse open sleigh. And oooooh, she decided, shoving herself to her feat, slapping at her legs as she gripped at the stupid sleigh again, she would NOT be laughing all the way through this one. She was going to sit, and stew, and grump.

Pythia 2 - 3+5
Her butt was wet from falling into the snow, and her pride almost as bruised as her derriere. Pythia was ready for this to be over, and it hadn't even begun yet; with agitated, shaking hands the redhead adjusted the blanket over her lap and began to settle back for the ride. Yet... the sleigh did not start moving, except to begin to rock back and forth.
That MORON driver was getting down, whining about his bladder. Couldn't he just pee off the edge of the cart or something? First, he let her fall into the snow, and now he planned to make her SIT here, humiliated, damp, and elevated for people to laugh at her graceless tumble? Spine rigid, Pythia looked away from the driver in irritation-
Just in time for the entire sleigh to shake, as the horse that the FOOL of a driver had released while he got down reared up- and took off. The entire thing rattled and shook, and Pythia grabbed for the edge, clinging to the slat of it so that she didn't hit the floor. It was to her regret- she could feel the vibrations up her arms and through the core of her.

It was definitely official that she despised sleigh rides. They were in the woods, and there were TREES in said woods, trees with BUGS, and SNOW, and BRANCHES coming right for her face- so she just dove for the bottom of the carriage, shoved herself under the blanket, and hoped this trial was over soon.

Pythia 4 - 3+5+8+8
The sound of branches slapping the carriage was soon over, and Pythia lifted her arms- just in time for a massive branch to slam into her arms, cracking off and falling atop her. Her arm went numb, of course- she'd have a hell of a bruise, later. Yet as howls resounded around her, Miss Adler became aware of what had spooked the horse, and threw her blanket off, gripping the fat branch with a firm grip, nerveless fingers still clutched tight.
And as the first of the wolves leaped at the open sleigh, the redhead swung her weapon like a bat, channeling all her fury into the swing, and sending the wolf backwards with a loud crack.
Oh. She'd never done violence on an animal before. She didn't like it. But as the next one jumped, she did it the same to it as the first, a screaming growl of fury spilling from her throat. And this... was stress relief. If still incredibly stressful, as the four-legged hunters seemed to take her fury as challenge.
Great.

Not soon enough, the wolves seemed to be taking a step back, and Pythia let the branch sag to the floor of the sleigh in relief. Screw this whole carnival. Screw the pillow, and the extra credit, her teacher, this snow, this sleigh, that driver, the horse, the other guests, the stanky food, the EVERYTHING. This was all awful, and not worth it. Just not-
Turning, the redhead could see choppy, angry water and a wide river, and the horse- this stupid, hateful monster- just trudged right on into it. Her shriek was loud and shrill, and lasted until the world went dark.

By the time Pythia came out of her swoon, they seemed to be on the other side of the rushing water. How she had survived, she would never know. Nor would she be grateful for it, really; this entire day had been a travesty, and she wouldn't forget.
She grabbed at the extra blanket again, tugging it over her shoulders as the stallion pulled the sleigh into a flower field, and to a stop. Well, the stop in theory meant the wolves were still on the other side of the river... or it meant the horse was a total POS and had given up the ghost and they were soon to die.
A burst of color shot by her head, and Pythia pulled in on herself, glaring balefully out from her blessedly not-too-soaked cocoon, gripping her branch more tightly. Just for a moment, she decided- Just for a moment she'd rest her eyes.

Evren - 2Quote: As you stand next in line for your turn for a ride, a beautiful stallion soon arrives to the waiting area, pulling behind it an ornate, elegant looking carriage cart. Despite having taken several rides before you, the horse seems to be full of energy and the driver as cheerful as ever. The party before you leaves the ride, so now it's your turn to hop on! Evren was super excited to get on the sleigh ride. She loved seeing animals performing jobs as it reminded her how much humans needed animals in their day to day lives. While pondering if the horse was one of her family clinic's patients she missed a step trying to climb into the sleigh. The next thing she knew she was on her back in the snow. Giggling at her blunder she quickly pulled herself up off the ground and climbed into the sleigh. She didn't want to keep anyone else waiting for their turn on the carriage ride.

Evren - 2 + 4Quote: Pulling the provided blanket onto your lap, it's time for your ride to begin! …… or it would be, but your driver is quickly dismounting from his seat, apologizing profusely as he feels the need to visit the restroom prior to leaving. Ah, well, a few minutes wait won't hurt, right? Your horse seems to think otherwise, though, as not seconds after the driver reaches for the horse's reins to tie them up, the stallion seems to be spooked by something that no one else sees. With a terrified whinny, he rears up and begins a sprint - carrying you behind in tow! It looks like your adventure is beginning - but without a driver! Evren got herself comfortable with her blanket as she let out a puff of air. She noticed the driver getting off his seat. He apologized quickly before running off ... well, she supposed everyone has to go to the bathroom at some point right. Chuckling to herself then next thing she knew her carriage lurched forward. Managing to hold onto the sides as her unexpected ride began. "Oh my..." Everything unsteadily rocked back and forth as the horse seemed he was in a rush to get somewhere... or away from something. She wondered where she was going to end up.
