Karthin stood by the door most of the meeting. He wanted to be as far away from his younger brother as possible. He knew the queen understood. She even addressed him as an outcast. He had his head down and eyes closed for the majority of the meeting only looking up when it ended. "We hope to see you again soon Angela. Let me send your savior with you to see you out of the city. He seems to be one of my brightest subjects as of late." She commented as she gave Karthin a look. "As you wish mi'lady. I will see her to the gates and return to my home if that is acceptable with you." He told her with a bow.

Karthin shrugged. "She cares a lot about results, and about making sure we're all safe. She hates when we put each other and ourselves in danger. She knows I do that a lot, and one reason she is so nice is because she has scolded me too many times. She knows I'll keep doing what I need to do for my people." He explained to her. He looked up into the leaves of the trees. "And I'll never forget what my family did to me. How they favored their second child and left me to die." He said almost venomously. He shook his head to clear his mind. "Anyway things have been getting a lot better for me in the past few years. My life is pretty good right now, and it looks like things will start looking up more in the time to come."

Karthin smiled at her. "I have the troupe to thank for the man I've become. Without their kindness I would have surely died before I had the chance to make anything out of my life." He told her. "Travel well Angela, and may the gods see you safely to and from your destination." He said waving to her as she disappeared. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he made his way to his small house near the center of the city. It was a quaint little house that he built for himself. He lied down on his bed and quickly fell asleep.

In the four weeks since Angela departed Karthin had spent that time training his already impressive repertoire of skills. He would stalk a random elf all day just to see if he would get caught, and on days he wasn't doing that he was either at the shooting range working with his bow, or sparring with other elves with his Katana. To most it looked like he was throwing himself into training to forget about something, like he was working too hard just to be doing it. Whatever was fueling this behavior nobody knew how to figure it out. The queen herself was starting to get worried that he would work himself to death. There were days when she forced Karthin to take a break and feed himself. Then the day finally came when Angela arrived with her entourage of Valkyrie. Karthin leaned on the wall next to the door in the courtyard of the palace. "Long time no see Angela. How have you been these past four weeks?" He asked with a smile that made it seem like he was the same old guy. He whistled and five guards rushed to his side.
"Looks like you could use some help carrying all of that. Why don't you let them take that, and we can go meet with the queen." He told her.

"I can only think of a few times where I've been better." Karthin told her as he opened the door to the palace for all of them. He bowed to the queen along with the Valkyrie. "It's so nice to see you again Angela. It would seem your absence took quite the toll on your savior here." She told the women with a giggle. Karthin had the courtesy of blushing at the comment, but he was fairly sure nobody could tell. "But enough about that. I suppose all of you are here to finally iron out the details of our alliance am I correct?" She asked getting serious about the meeting. "If all of you will follow me we will talk about this over tea in a nice room where we won't have to yell to hear each other. Karthin you're joining us so come along." She told them all as she stood up and walked towards a door on her left. Karthin groaned slightly. One thing he hated most were meetings like this it's one of the main reasons he never made a good diplomat.

The queen bowed to the women. "Yes it has been some time hasn't it?" She asked slyly. "I believe the last time we had an alliance was when my mother was queen right?" She asked while trying to think back. While the queen was busy with Vaya, Karthin took this time to try and get a feel for the other two that Angela brought with her. When Aralia looked to him, and started speaking some foreign language he had to wonder if it was about him. He watched as Angela seemed to get annoyed. It wasn't long before her aunt broke up whatever conversation they were having. He shrugged it off as an everyday occurrence, and tried to get his mind on other things. 'I don't think I'm strong enough just yet, but soon I'll be able to do what is needed.' He thought to himself with his hand on his chin. He also didn't realize that his other hand was fiddling with the hilt of his Katana. A sort of nervous tick he got as he started training more often.

"Karthin be a dear and go make sure they don't destroy the landscape by accident." The queen told him. "As for the fight itself I see no problem with it as long and my people don't get caught in the commotion." The queen said as she placed her hand on the Valkyrie's noticing the tear. "Come now Vaya, drink the tea it was made specifically to ease tension and relaxation." She said as she sipped the tea. Karthin did as he was asked and went outside and stood beside Ravena. "Does this sort of thing happen very often?" He asked the woman as he watched the two sisters battling it out. It seemed to be more of an actual fight than a minor dispute and Vaya and said it was. "And does it always seem like they're fighting to kill each other?" He asked her.
