The college had been along the way as Zahara moved through the village to coordinate his own efforts for the cause. He moved on with the utmost urgency as he held a handseal as he was passing the building as a shadow clone was created in the wake of his sprint. Might as well coordinate those who I can. Zahara thought as his shadow clone deviated from his path while his Byakugan confirmed that there were shinobi within the college. The clone came into the lobby of the college, calling out to those present. "Listen up to those of you can hear me," Zahara's clone began as soon as it entered and pointed out the door. "Mobilize yourselves as we've been attacked by a force unknown at the village gates. Be prepared for anything, I am going to be heading to the gates to assist the kage with the Byakugan to root out these threats. Make do with this information as you will, I am but just a clone." The clone knelt down then as the real Zahara began moving out of range as he made his way to his destination and a moment later the clone would disperse and catch information from any potential replies.
With that, Zahara made his exit shortly afterwards with the clone soon dispersing.

Before she had a chance to answer the girl however she was interrupted by one younger shinobi, and not just any shinobi, but the one who had attacked Lahlil in fact. Apparently the village had come under attack.. again. Sighing Ferrah activated her Sakkakugan to check if there were any immediately suspicious life forces in the area. She found none of course but kept her doujutsu on anyway.
Nodding to the clone Ferrah dismissed Anton, who at this point was starting to drool with anticipation for an upcoming fight. Walking up to her 'heroine' a large scroll poof'd into existence under her arm which she then unraveled before Coda. Coda's slightly greedy anticipation of a reward was cut through like sharpened steel by the revelation that the village was once again under attack. Her expression noticeably soured. This was exactly what she expected when the woman from the outskirts told her to come here. More potential destruction and pain inflicted upon normal people. Even by her expectations, though, the turmoil and endangerment inflicted upon the village as a whole seemed excessive. Mood aside, her reward was presented and she wasn't one to turn it down. The name was signed simply, a tattooed thumb nipped and blood applied to the scroll. "Bats, huh? Guess I'm learning that s**t on the fly. Count me in on that fight, clone." There was little time to sit around and learn the basics of summoning, especially if it meant potentially wasting chakra - and little point in potentially interfering with the combat abilities of someone significantly stronger on top of that. Coda already knew exactly where she'd like to be, or defend, rather. But she also knew she probably couldn't keep the residential district safe if she was forced into a fight. Best to leave that hornet's nest for someone else to kick, if it was under attack. "I'm headed to the Industrial Quarter. Oh, right. Name's Coda by the way. See ya 'round." She said as she gave a little hop-skipping turn and shunshined away a moment later.
tabAs soon as the contract was signed Ferrah rolled it back up and unsummoned it. Caine would want to look it over to see who would be taking his followers from him now. She doubted he would be mad considering he placed her in explicit charge of watching over the bats, and Coda, as she nanmed herself, did display a strong sense of trust. She could have ran off with Dibbles at any moment or even tried to hide him from her and yet she didn't.
But she didn't have time to be sitting here thinking there was a war to be fighting. With her Sakkakugan still active Ferrah flew off to scan the village from the skies where she could get the best possible viewpoint.

_β§ Because the Sakkakugan is so adept at weaving genjutsu together they are afforded a unique version of self korabo which is done in place of a normal korabo between two illusions. When more than one genjutsu is on the target their ranks are shifted so that the lower ranked genjutsus get their strength bumped up to highest ranked genjutsu on the target for the rest of it's duration. This is only useable up to the users self ranked korabo level and each genjutsu is still treated as separate when interacting with kai. There was work to be done. She had four puppets up to snuff, a decoy, and damn good deal of mayhem she could stirr up. Hopefully her arsenal was enough. What a time not to have Hohoemi finely tune, her thoughts taunted her hand passing over the smiling puppet's scroll in her pack. She knew the location and the texture, the feeling, each scroll had. Sadayo went for the brown scroll which she had longed to use for quite some time now. As she unrolled it a great plume of smoke replaced the scroll with the large, metal pangolin puppet. Before the smoke could clear Sadayo had began the act of climbing into her weapon. In terms of who Sadayo would need should become apparent at her arrival to gates. Maybe Senzankou was all she needed? Nonetheless, the puppeteer started the pangolin to move from a walk to a roll that awkwardly left the college. Frustrated grumbling sounds could be heard from inside the puppet. {Exit to The Gates, I think}

"As if I'd lose to you." Michio stated boldly as he opened up his own scroll, choosing to learn all of the E-ranking techniques for the elements at his disposal. Those being earth, fire, and lightning.
Starting off with Raiton. Seeing that there were only five techniques on the E-rank level for the technique, he figured there would need to be some more emphasis on the later stages in order for him to effectively make use of his time. He read over the scroll, carefully absorbing the details of the techniques in front of him to ensure that mastery was immediate. After all, competing with Charvalla wasn't something he wanted to half-a**. In theory, the Academy ranks were primitive, mainly related either to physical contact or something simple such as strings. With that in mind, it didn't take him long to pick those up, even going so far as to jump straight ahead into the D-rank techniques. Though, of all those abilities, only a few stood out. As such, he made short work of them, and added the Cloud Wisp, Lightning Transformation, and Current Transfer techniques to his arsenal.
All in all, he wasn't disappointed with the straightforwardness of early Raiton jutsu. Most of them were focused either with debilitation of the opponent in some way. Whether it be blindness, numbing, or full-on paralysis, though that seemed to be something of a self-inflicted issue as well.
With a temporary victory in hand, he moved forward onto the C-rank techniques for Raiton. Much to his dismay, he found them just as straightforward as their predecessors. He had hoped for a change, and was unfortunately a bit disappointed. In the spirit of this, he chose to learn the sequence of techniques most closely tied to their nature. Before long, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Blast, and Lightning Beam were all under his belt. Within that space of time, he found an opportunity to jump right into the Katon techniques, and got the very first technique under his belt. The Flare technique was simple in practice, but Katon as a whole would rely on the baseline provided by that simple jutsu.
Officially, it was time to move on to Katon. Michio's initial observation was that, besides the Flare technique that he'd already learned, most of the E-rank Katon abilities were centered around use of the hands. Given his specific proficiency in gathering and executing with chakra separate from the use of hand seals, he found mastering these abilities to be even easier than normal. Even the Flame Resistance Technique was rather simple in application for someone skilled in somatic movements. It was to the extent that he even got to move ahead to the D-ranked Katon for a single technique, that being the Mist Waltz. It was always an interesting aspect of the fire style; not only to create flames, but also to create situations where flames become exponentially more dangerous.
Save for the Mist Waltz, Michio didn't really see the value in any of the other D-ranked Katon. For this reason, he moved on to the next rank almost immediately. There, he started to see real value in the techniques, not only in application but also in efficiency. The Great Fireball technique was a staple in nearly every practitioner's toolbox. Flame Whirlwind was a fantastic technique for keeping pressure on an unsuspecting opponent. Many of the jutsu shared these similar concepts; a powerful, offensive strike, or a means of taking advantage of an unsuspecting opponent mid-fight. He spent quite a bit of time familiarizing himself with nearly every technique on the list, as almost all of them added value to his arsenal. So far, Katon was shaping up to be his favorite type of jutsu, though he hadn't had much time to dabble in it real-world. One of his particular favorites was the Burning Rush technique. With it, the user could theoretically empower themselves as though they were a Taijutsu user, though the effects were temporary. Given that Michio was looking into some Bukijutsu training of his own, such a technique would be extremely helpful in situations where Ninjutsu just wasn't cutting it. That would be the final Katon he added to his roster from a total of eight. He was very pleased with each addition, and looked forward to what Doton had to offer at the end of this ninjutsu training session.

Further study into Doton would show Michio that the element was every bit as useful and versatile as it had been during their encounter with the rogue. The Mud Moat was a jutsu he found particularly useful from the D-rank listings. However, none of the other skills he saw were good enough compared to what he found in C-rank. Whether it was an aftereffect from the hospital, or simply his memory, Michio found himself moving on to the more potent jutsu as he was reaching his mental limits. There, he found the Mud Overturn technique to be quite useful. Rock Spear, Earthen Rising Spear, and Earth Flow Wave were all particularly good techniques for his arsenal. After this, Michio had decided to lay off Ninjutsu for the day, as he felt like he was nearing a limit ever so closely.
After that bit of learning was done, it was time to move on to an area of focus he hadn't quite touched on yet; Bukijutsu. In particular, he was looking to practice the Honshi art, more commonly known as throwing projectiles. From what he gathered, the style was geared around making the practitioner as skilled as possible with the use and application of all manner of thrown objects, be they shuriken, kunai, or otherwise. On top of that, it built on the user's speed and reflexes, seemingly to give them that slight edge in combat against an opponent who would otherwise overwhelm them.
That being said, the skills themselves were extremely easy to pick up on. Anyone who had graduated from the academy had the basic knowledge of how to hit a target. These skills merely built upon that mastery, allowing the user to hit multiple targets at once, or to throw more sharply. Michio definitely had his favorites from the list, but learned them regardless in order to attain the mastery he needed. The first three 'stages', as they were called, were all rather simple in their application and purposes. Save for retracting line, which may have some special use down the road. Learning all this had made the young man thankful that he'd taken the time to learn the Phoenix Flower Jutsu.

It was time for what their teacher called 'formless combat'. This, in simpler terms, was the ability to fight on the fly without having to worry about a style. It was also something that would have saved Michio's neck if he'd had some experience with it before their attacker at the academy. He'd have been able to react much more ably to the oncoming stab that had put him in the hospital for that brief period. Today, he chose to work on a few different things. With his learning in the projectile weapon style, it seemed obvious that both soft physical and projectile weapons formless would be on his list. As such, he devoted a lot of his early attention to the application and mastery of those skills, as best as he could. Figuring at some point he'd dabble into other kinds of weapons, medium weapons was the last thing he worked with today, especially given that those teachings would serve him well later for using larger projectiles. One of the most noteworthy being the giant shuriken used by shinobi across history.

For this training session, he had finally reached the swan song. Genjutsu wasn't something he was especially good at, but what little aptitude he did have for it wouldn't go to waste. One of the things he especially needed to note with Genjutsu was the change in how the chakra was focused, applied, and dispersed. Ordinarily, the dispersion of chakra wasn't an important piece. With Genjutsu, however, the subtlety with their chakra usage was important in all aspects, especially dispersion. Any sensor shinobi worth their salt could pick up on a sloppy dispersion and near-immediately know something is wrong. An incorrect projection of the technique would raise all sorts of red flags to someone paying close attention. It was for these reasons that Michio took his time on the basics, ensuring that his normally offensively-based chakra was actually up to the task of the detailed and painstaking manipulation required.
It didn't help--either--that he was basically starting from ground zero with plenty of Genjutsu from the Academy to learn. Ultimately, it didn't take him long to work his way through the techniques provided for learners, but what he saw afterwards was more confusing than anything he'd read so far. There were so many specific illusions, each with their own sense of oddity, sensory triggers...so much information to process. Michio started missing the simplicity of Ninjutsu in those moments; you use a technique, it misses or they can't fight anymore. There was nothing wrong with such a system. After a good deal of thought regarding what exactly he'd want from Genjutsu, Eventually, he settled on False Place, Hidden Assassin, Deadly Sand Storm, and Mirage Minora. Those seemed to be a healthy mix, and would allow him to have an illusion ready for a myriad of situations.

Surprisingly, Michio actually had beaten her this time around, and when she turned to him, she was rolling up scrolls and closing books, all written in braile, and turning to look at him with her empty, brown eyes seeming to scan across his face as if she could see it, ears acutely aware of the noise and vibrations rattling through the entire village. She wondered, idly, if anyone was handling that. "Welp, you got me. Lunch is on me. I think we ought find Chie first, though, yeah?"

Michio was in utter disbelief at first. He had actually beaten her at a contest of some kind? Was he losing his mind? For a moment, those words hung in his mind before he registered the rest of what she had said to him. "Oh. Right. Yeah, I agree. Let's go find her quick." Still somewhat shell-shocked from this first-time happening, he absentmindedly led the way out of the college after returning all that he'd borrowed. They were on a course directly back to the Academy. He only hoped that she'd still be there, or their search would continue likely to the Uzukage's Office.
His heart was aflutter, in a way it never had been before. The young man was still having some difficulty processing the situation. He couldn't quite decide which mental 'box' to put it in.

Coda skidded to a stop atop the college, only for something at the academy nearby to catch her attention. More fighting. She'd have to make this somewhat quick. Shibuki disappeared into a seal a moment later and she began working on an handful of different sealing techniques, including the one that would allow her to summon her bats. She wasn't exactly a savant at sealing, but she'd picked out a few things that made sense to work on. Next up, Coda rounded out a couple of her Yoton techniques. It wasn't a terribly inspired bit of training. There were only a couple she was allowed to take on, and from the looks of the scene over at the Academy they would be of little use. Still, it couldn't hurt to add a few more tricks to her slowly expanding bag of tricks. It wasn't like they were pushover level techniques, but it was a bit frustrating to be shied off the higher level stuff on a technicality. Ah yes, as hoped, the reward promised. Coda reached back into her hood, pulling Dibbles out and letting him settle onto her hands. "You must be talking about this guy. Ran right into me while I was studying." She said as she cautiously closed the ground between them. Mostly, she didn't want to spook the little bat, who had seemed timid and hesitant earlier. No reason to make a scene where there didn't need to be one. "So, what's the reward?"
