The Wraith
Nathaniel pulled his hand back when he heard Jason protest and lowered it back down to his side. He was a little bummed they didn't just brand her cause he found that to be more reliable as far as follow through went but he didn't complain. If she really was a friend then they wouldn't have to worry. "We don't know." John replied to Diana's question quickly. He dispelled whatever remained of his binding spell and moved to look out the saloon door. "Yeah we all just woke up in the wild west. Pretty weird. Pretty cool too. High, I'm Nathaniel." Nathaniel introduced himself quickly and then he began looking around the store for old newspapers. Nathaniel had a feeling that they weren't going to get anywhere by walking around town and asking questions at this rate so he was going to do a little digging into the town's history. Find out why it was like it was maybe? It certainly hadn't always been run by a colorful band of heroes. Nathaniel was smart enough to know that. If he had the internet it would have been as simple as searching 'history of tombstone' and Nathaniel would have plenty of answers. The newspaper method required more work. With John keeping watch they all had a little time to breath before anything really bad came for them.

Jason then looked to all that’s gathered, and spoke having a hypothesis. ”Etrigan doesn’t think it’s John Dee, but as he doesn’t need the Dream Stone for his powers, it’s possible that some one else is using it instead.” Jason then would look to his party to see if he needed to explain what the dreamstone was or wasn’t. But suspected by its name alone it would be self-explanatory. John this dream world seems to have it out for you, but you usually have a plan of sorts. Any ideas on how we might proceed? Oh and it won’t be long before the sheriff realizes Etrigan has escaped.” Jason knew that this dream world would likely find some way to pin The Demon business on John especially with Etrigan’s sudden disappearance, and John being a high profile target.

Diana looked directly Jason, as she recalled what had transpired not too long ago. "That was you, were you doing that deed as a distraction?" As she cocked her head to the side. Something shimmering caught her attention as she glanced down at her odd attire. At the same time noticing the other gentleman present who had introduced himself, Nathaniel as she provided a nod towards him acknowledging his greeting to not appear rude. Watching as he walked off to conduct some research in the newspapers. Squinting her eyes slightly as she observed John who was cautiously keeping an eye on the road. "If it helps, I too can be alert to whatever it is you are seeking, John. So that we are not caught off guard." Moving off slightly beside John, while she listened to Jason say something about the sheriff would notice he was gone. "Well, then it will only be a matter of time until you are discovered then. And it's not like this is a large city where there are places to hide. Flying out of here is definitely not an option, that is unless you do want to get captured." Moving away from John after providing a look about far off into the distance for any kind of movement. She moved to another part of the store to where the clothes were. She knew for a fact, she would stick out like a sore thumb dressed in this attire. Knowing she needed to dull down the colors to look less like a brothel whore and more of a cowgirl. Gathering what she needed, she only vanished from their sight long enough, to return only moments later to wear more appropriate looking attire to blend in more. Picking up a duster on her way out of the dressing room, slung over her arm as she adjusted her hat. "What's the plan y'all?"

The Wraith
"It can't be the dreamstone, mate. Doctor Fate had that when the tower was destroyed. The stone was blow to hell." John interjected. He couldn't argue with Jason because this reality really did seem to have it out for him. Then again that could have just been the result of his luck or the various demon lords vying after his soul. Bad stuff happened all the time. He wasn't entirely sold on the idea that this was the dreamstone because he was certain that stone was gone. Many magical items had been lost when the Tower of Fate fell to Trigon's forces. Those that hadn't been taken to hell by enterprising demons or lifted by careful criminals had been destroyed and John was sure the dreamstone was one of them. But he was wrong.
Nathaniel had just stumbled upon quite the discovery. While he'd been scowering the store for newspapers he found a much more useful image. A wanted poster- well a series of wanted posters in a stack behind the counter. Maybe they'd been taken down then the Red Hood was apprehended, maybe they'd never been put up. He saw some unimpressive members, namely Jason Todd, Jean-Paul Valley, Harley Quinn, and Floyd Lawton. They were just criminals so it wasn't surprising to see them. What was surprising was the man leading them all. "Guys!" Nathaniel tried to call their attention over and held up the wanted poster of none other than the 'Red Hood' himself. They would all recognize him, or at least the image that had been depicted of him. Even Nathaniel had recognized him from the news. The image was in black and white so there were no colors to decipher more from but it was a man in a smooth helm with two opening's for the eyes and nothing else as far as facial features went. Around his neck hung the very stone that the two warlocks were arguing over. "Bollocks... Nabu what have you done?" John mumbled as he examined the image of the gang leader wearing what appeared to be the Helmet of Fate.

Jason first responded to Diana’s comment about the distraction he caused. Something like that, or more accurately, I had accidentally blown John’s cover, making him a target, so I did what I thought was best , and created a distraction to buy him time and an escape route.
Then Jason heard Nathaniel point out the wanted poster, and saw John’s reaction, as John took his turn to look it over. Jason then looked over the wanted poster himself to see what exactly the two were talking about. He then looked over to John, and stated dryly, ”I hate usually being right. However we now have a few ideas of what we’re dealing with. Though I doubt anyone of us can take on Nabu” John then looked to the assembled party, and stroked his chin in thought. ”We’re going to need a game plan, before we take action, otherwise things could end badly for everyone, so if anyone has any suggestions now is probably the time to speak, assuming this place is secure Diana? Jason didn’t want for all of them to be hunted down again for being “witches”, that was the last thing they needed right now.

The dreamstone? Why... why did that sound so familiar? Reaching up to rub at an annoying sensation she felt pinging along her temple as she tried to focus past a conversation that Jason was explaining to her. His words slightly faded off in the background. She did hear what he had to say, Diana was just trying to sort out this conundrum they were all in. Peeling her eyes away from the store window she had been looking out at to look towards John then, "You don't think this has anything to do with the events at Trigon, do you, John?" Her eyes lingered on him for a fleeting amount of time until she had her attention drawn over towards Nathaniel who exclaimed out of both surprise and excitement at his discovery. Strolling across the store over to where the newspapers he had been thumbing through, displayed a black and white sketch of a familiar shaped helm. "Bollocks... Nabu what have you done?"
Diana's eyes lifted up off of the newspaper drawing and over at John, "You know something...?" She asked, as her eyebrows knit together in a frown of concern. She wasn't angry at him, nor was she accusing him, but she could tell there was more than meets the eye here. "What is it, John?" Hearing Jason chime in she diverted her attention over at him as he spoke to their small gathering. ”I hate usually being right. However we now have a few ideas of what we’re dealing with. Though I doubt anyone of us can take on Nabu. We’re going to need a game plan, before we take action, otherwise things could end badly for everyone, so if anyone has any suggestions now is probably the time to speak, assuming this place is secure Diana?"
"At the present, yes this store is secure. As for the length of time it will stay that way? Probably not too long. I have several questions, how length of time have we all been here? I'm guessing no one really knows a solid answer to that. And what of others? I'm assuming they too have memory loss. Possibly due to the fact of this dream stone you mentioned. If so, how did the dream stone fall from its owners hands? Was it pried away? Stolen? We need facts and answers to a lot of questions. As for our safety, I would highly advise we depart this part of town and find some place that's not scouted often, but also not too far off the beaten path. What would that be... in a place... in a time like this? A cave that holds a mining operation? Hmm.. would be a good cover but also dangerous. A ranch with horses and cattle... mmm probably would leave us exposed and eventually someone might find us. Maybe... I can work with animals and they can help us in a dire situation, but I don't want to risk too much. John.. how much of this place is magic and how much of this place is real? Do you have an inkling of an idea to this plane of existence?" Diana asked, before looking over at the newcomer Nathaniel, she had no idea what his powers and abilities were. "Nathaniel and Jason, what are you thoughts. Please, anything at this point is useful to give us an advantage with time and who we are up against."

Nathaniel watched everyone around him talking and only really grasped little pieces here and there. He knew of Doctor Fate but not such details as the name of the entity in the helm (Nabu) and so whenever they said that name he failed to draw the connection. All Nathaniel saw was that a Doctor Fate looking man was wanted for being the Red Hood and frankly that was all he cared about. John and Jason seemed to think that this dreamstone had some role in their prison too but Nathaniel hardly knew enough about the stone to offer any advice. Hell he was just trying to keep up at this point. When Diana addressed him he shrugged. "Honestly I'm just trying not to fall behind."
"I don't know, love. It seems like all of us were dropped off at different times." John replied to Diana's questions about when they'd been put here and about if he could tell what was and was not real. He couldn't, the dreamstone and the power of their foe had ensured that much. All John knew was it wasn't right. "I don't bloody well like it but you're right Jason. We can't beat Nabu." John had put some plans in action before Trigon. Plans that would have gone a long way to helping them kill Nabu but he had abandoned them when he thought Nabu was destroyed in the Tower of Fate. As a result they had nothing to work with. Or did they? "But we don't have to. We just need to get that helmet off his head."

Jason was weighing in his own thoughts as he listened to the others. Paying attention to what each had to say and what their own thoughts were on the subject. Hearing both Diana’s question and Nathaniel’s comment he decided to bring Nathaniel up to speed and answer Diana’s question at the same time. “Nabu is the entity that possesses the helmet of Fate. He is what makes anyone Doctor Fate. The Dream Stone is the artifact that alters reality. None of it technically being real, but all too real at the same time. So to answer your question Diana, as long as the bearer of the Stone believes we’re still under the illusion of this ‘spell’ for lack of better terms, everything is as real as we need it to be. However that could change the instant they realize we’re no longer playing their game and by their rules. At that point you can’t trust -anything- to be real.” Jason then looked to John, at his solution. Jason’s only comment to such was, “Easier said than done.” But then Jason looked to Wonder Woman. “But still could work if we catch them off guard.”
What was troubling Jason however, and he was surprised it wasn’t troubling John either, is that Trigon was dead. And if Trigon was dead, why is Fate the still acting like the villain. Which led Jason to an alternate plan. “If this truly is Nabu, why couldn’t we just try reasoning with him. Perhaps there is a just cause behind all of this? He is a Lord of Order and not Chaos after all, is he not?” Jason was speaking to John directly at this point and awaited for answers and suggestions from both him and rest of the group.

"Blam-jam!" Ivy cursed when she saw the Red Hood was gone all before her pheromones could fill the car and make him fall in love with her. Seeing as they were now the only two conscious people, she stood up. "If I find out Wayne knew what kind of demon we were dealing with I'll send him to hell across lots!" There was no denying the Red Hood had magical powers in a similar fashion to herself. Not after what just happened anyway. The train slowed to the crawl as it pulled into the station then finally let out a vile hiss of air as it pulled to a stop. Most of their team was out, not to mention all of the feds who had been completely useless, and now the leader of the Red Hood Gang was lose in Tombstone. If they couldn't keep him contained, what were the chances they could recapture him? "What do you reckon we do now?"

Looking past Nathaniel, Diana moved over to the newspaper and picked it up. Studying the image as she listened to Jason provide a history lesson as to who they might be dealing with. Walking over and handing the paper to John who appeared to be eying the design of the drawing. "Hold onto that thought there Jason..." Trading a glance over at Jason briefly before back at John as she awaited his response.
"Share with us." Offering the paper to him, because it did appear he knew more than he was willing to admit for some reason. "You are looking at this person as if he were two different individuals. Why is that?"

Before anyone could get in another word in the shop, the screeching of the train as it was forced to a halt demanded all of the heroes' attention. Nathaniel teleported onto the rooftop of the building they were in to get a good view of the train. John walked out the front door to see what was going on and so did nearly all of Tombstone. Citizens of all sorts peered out their windows and doorways to see what had caused the awful noise. Sheriff Kent and his deputies walked down the street in the middle of the town towards the train that Ivy and Grayson were on the opposite side of. The sheriff seemed to notice the destroyed container that should have been delivering Red Hood and so he began setting up a perimeter around the town. Red Hood wouldn't run away on his watch. John popped back into the store at the same time that Nathaniel teleported back in but Nathaniel was quicker to talk. "Red Hood is lose in Tombstone. The sheriff is starting a search. We can't keep hiding in here."
One-Eyed Grayson holstered his gun and sighed. "You check the town. I'll ride back to Wayne and tell him Red Hood has magic. Ride back when you find something," Grayson instructed pretty dismissively as he looked around. "I'll stay by the train for a bit to help the injured and make sure the Red Hood Gang is locked up." And with that Grayson made his way back to Elliot, the nearest of their wounded allies.

In an instant a high pitched screeching sound could be heard that drew everyone's attention. Noticing Nathaniel disappeared in an instant, she found herself moving towards the window, looking over towards the direction of where the noise came forth from. While standing there something told her to hold onto the wanted poster, folding up the drawing and tucking it away in one of her pockets. Movement in the distance caught Diana's attention, more specific something shining in the sunlight that bounced off something metallic bearing the shape of a star. Recognizing that symbol from just about anywhere, she knew it was the Sheriff. A look of determination settled in, when she felt the presence of Nathaniel returning to the fray. "Red Hood is lose in Tombstone. The sheriff is starting a search. We can't keep hiding in here." Turning her head towards Nathaniel making direct eye contact with him then, "Then its best we leave now." Picking up a gun belt that was nearby she placed it on, mainly to use as backup. Not that she would need it. Rounding up her golden lasso and attaching it to the belt. "If we depart now, we can head on foot unnoticed and make our way towards the canyon that isn't too far from here. Once there, I can lead us to the abandoned gold mine shaft. Or does someone have a better idea?" Diana figured a secluded place away from town would be a good hideout and would also provide them the time needed to do some further research on the situation and plan to locate another hideout. Time and resources were limited at this point.

"We already found something. Tell Wayne he better send the whole camp if he's fixin' for us to beat the Dutch." Ivy made her way towards the entrance of the train car, somehow both wondering exactly what it was One-eye wanted her to find while knowing exactly what it was. "Don't you dilly-dally with the Civilizes." She called to One-Eye as he headed towards the back of the train. She didn't particularly concerned about the injured outside the members of their gang. She considered most civilians complaisant at best and guilty at worst for their willingness to use such conveniences such as the trains at the cost of nature. With that Ivy stepped off the train and set off to see if she could find where the Red Hood had gotten to.

Jason first to turned to Nathaniel, interrupting their planning with the announcement of the gang’s arrival. He then turned Diana as she suggested retreating and regrouping. Jason also preferring to be more methodical, was inclined to agree with Diana. Jason though was one not to deny the effectiveness of John’s methods of being able to think in his feet. ”I think leaving now, to regroup and strategize, might be the wisest course of action. That is unless John has any last minute tricks up his sleeve.” Looking to John to see if he had any suggestions or quips, before they collectively left.

John Constantine Once again the group would be interrupted by loud noises as gunshots broke the air. They were all coming from a butcher shop down the road where Sheriff Kent and his deputies had just gone to look for the Red Hood. Constantine pinched the bridge of his nose. Can I have a bloody second to think! Constantine thought to himself before heading out of the general store to see who was shooting. "Look around, we don't need to regroup. We have everything we need here." John finally said before pointing to the scene before them.
Kent and his deputies were pinned down in the butcher shop and the Red Hood was standing on the rooftop of the clothing store across the street from them firing what looked like bolts of lightning from his guns. One bolt hit Kent and arched off him onto Deputy Steward who was not nearly as durable and let out a scream before collapsing. Sheriff Kent- realizing the bolt had done little to him- stood up from his cover to get a better shot at the Red Hood and when he did the Red Hood tapped together the bottoms of his guns and shouted words in an unfamiliar language. The train- Luthor's train- suddenly began to rise off the tracks and into the air. John threw his hands out towards the train and began speaking enochian. The movement of the train slowed and the glow around it began to stutter between a red and a gold color. However it proved to be too much for John and the red glow overtook the train. It flew off of it's tracks and slammed down onto the butcher shop that Sheriff Kent and his men were in, demolishing it completely. John's effort had bought One-Eye enough time to get off the train as soon as he began to feel it shift but he had no idea what happened to all the others inside. "That isn't Nabu. He isn't monologuing about restoring order."
