There was the hustle and bustle of people, captivated by Mahagony's mastery of make up or people interested in sounds from Ezra's composition panel and people who filtered in and out for one reason or another but time was starting to wind down and staff in either room had stepped up to announce that there were only roughly five to ten minutes left so it was important for people to get their questions in now if they wanted because there was about to be a switch.

((OOC: This current run of panels will wrap up around 8PM MST (give or take) and the next set will be asked to take the stage. ))

Rory Willows - Room One

She had slipped over to the panels after Reven played her game and she quickly lost track of the kitten when she darted off. "Reven!" She cried in hushed tones, quickly hurrying after her.

They'd come around the backside of things, Rory getting away with it because she sorta worked for Mister Black and people seemed to know who she was looking for. (Had she been hovering so much?)

She found both of the people she was looking for and she was a little out of breath when she slid into the empty seat next to Otto.

Her cheeks were flushed but she offered him a tentative smile. "Hi."

Jade Argent

Once they were out of the limelight, Jade seemed to breathe a little easier.

Before she seemed to be a little...on edge about having a shadow, a side effect of not knowing what to do with Delilah after they'd corrupted instead of killed her, but now, having someone she knew she could rely on (considering the last person had been...yeah) was welcomed.

"Well it didn't go how I wanted, I got distracted and didn't really hit the points needed but, I mean, it was okay right?" Jade was babbling, hands waving as she talked and she nearly paced back and forth before she forced herself to still and take some time to breathe.

Everything about her was a tightly wound coil but she almost seemed to relax with her latest exhale.

"We should check on the other areas, make sure stuff's running smoothly," she suggested, pausing to let Delilah weigh in. "What do you think?"

Queenie Powers

The look she gave Ashley back in response was as smug as she could manage - at least on such short notice and without the aid of a mirror to back her up. Any other time and she'd have practiced her facial expressions in her reflection to ensure she had just the right one on point for the occasion.

Either way, Ashley got the smug look and had Ms. Ellis not been nearby, he probably would have gotten a series of raspberries to boot.

Keeping in mind that her superior officer was within listening distance, she turned towards the older woman and the smug look turned into a bright and cheerful smile.

"May I assist you in taking down your panel display, ma'am?"

Delilah Samson - Jade's Shadow

Ah, there she was!

When Delilah spotted Jade, she scurried over, stopping right in front of her with the clipboard held to her chest. She opened her mouth to offer what she wanted to--a congratulations, of course--but then Jade started packing back and forth, sounding worried that it didn't really go how she wanted and she just got distracted and--

"Shh," offered Delilah, with a bright smile, moving a bit closer. She would have reached up to put a hand on Jade's shoulder, but considering Jade was her superior, technically, Delilah still wasn't sure how appropriate that was-- "I think you did great! I think the crowd was really happy to get to meet Ally A, and you seemed fine up there to me."

She wasn't sure if what she said was actually very helpful or not--she hoped it was, if she was being helpful that meant she was making connections--but it seemed like Jade's shoulders were relaxing a little. Hopefully.

The idea of exploring other areas sounded like a good idea. Maybe it would distract Jade from the idea that the panel didn't go as well as it could have, too...

"Yeah! Let's go make sure that Argent Con is running well!"

She knew it wasn't called Argent Con, but she liked the ring of it, anyway.

Porsha Webber - Room One

Well that was just puzzling. He looked so familiar to her, but she couldn't say she recalled meeting him before either so it was something of a mystery. Maybe he just had one of those faces?

"I guess not than, sorry. You just look really familiar for some reason." The puzzled expression lingered, as if she were still trying to work it out before giving up with a visible shrug.

"Anyways, sorry for the bump." She reached out to touch his arm, smiling up at him before giving a little wave and turning to walk away. She didn't know where Jade had run off to, but she wanted to find her.

Otto Moor/Reven - In the divide between rooms one and two

Otto leaned forward in his chair to peer down at the pale kitten that'd taken refuge beneath him. If Reven was here, Rory couldn't be far behind. He rolled silver eyes up in time to see her spot the both of them, a look of relief on her face. How long 'til she can trust that I'm safe?

To be fair to her though it wasn't as if he could really wrap his head around exactly why she had become something of a second shadow to him since he'd been pulled into the Negaverse. He knew she was worried for him, but not exactly why.

"Hey," he greeted back with a smile, lifting his arm to stretch it out along the back of the chair behind her shoulders. "What brings your cute self around?"

Reven crawled back out from beneath the chair to jump up on Rory's lap. "She was worried." It was blunt and too the point.

Otto reached out to stretch behind one pale ear, looking more amused than anything else. He was fine, he'd be fine. Chase was there, and Jade, and Desdemona.

Mahogany and Ezra were ushered off stage when the time ran out and staff came out to assist them with packing up or moving any equipment just as they assisted Ayesha and Sadie with any set up that they might have needed.

"You guys will be live in five," one of the staffer's said, distracted shortly after by the voice in their ear. "You need anything?"

Each panelist would have someone fluttering around, ready to help in a second.

Ayesha Kamjik, Room One

She never cared for public speaking. She found it hopeless, for all the ways it tended to bore people, but now she faced an instance where she was the one boring others. Talking at them wasn't a very practical delivery method for information, either.

But she didn't have a choice. Ayesha clutched the microphone, knuckles bone-white, and spoke to the crowd. "Good evening everyone, and welcome to the belly dancing panel." Her voice tremored with a nervousness that she tried to disguise with movement, whether traveling along the stage or rotating her body to address parts of the crowd. "Some of you might be wondering what belly dancing entails. Others might be asking themselves what belly dancing can do for them. Can it tone your body? Can it impress the people you want to impress? Can it serve as a performance art form? And most importantly: is it fun?

"To all these questions, I can safely say yes. Belly dancing can be part of your workout, your entertainment, your artist's repertoire and your pastime. But I didn't answer the most important question of whether it's fun. Can anyone answer that for me?" She held the microphone out, hand still shaken by nerves.

Luckily some of the crowd took pity, or were already fans, and cheered out an answer. She almost breathed a sigh of relief.

"For those of you who haven't seen a belly dancer in motion before, I'll give a short demonstration." They didn't have a lot of time to spare for a panel, being roughly comparable to a Ted Talk, so Ayesha knew to keep her performance to three minutes at most. Prepared specifically for that day was a spliced track, consisting of four songs in various lengthed segments, each mixed with an auditory acuity that blended the lot into a single song with a new identity. Those listening who recognized the songs could pick out their parts, but otherwise the soundtrack took a backseat to the performance.

And the performance was deeply practiced, down to her every facial expression. Dressed as she was in vivid blue and gold costuming, her coins aglitter under the stage light, Ayesha blended visual appearance with motion that spelled its own story across the stage. Isolated muscle groups rolled independent of each other — her hands and fingers petting movement out of the air while her belly churned like waves — and her feet skated across the floor with a light touch. Spins, shimmies, rolls, and sways coalesced into a language of their own, backdropped by the auditory scenery. When she concluded her demonstration, she earned a smattering of applause from the crowd. One among them called out her YouTube name, which earned a salient nod.

She spent the remainder of her time teaching some of the activities that comprised her movements, namely the shimmy and hip roll. Techniques involving more difficult muscle isolation were left for those who wanted to practice further or solicit her YouTube videos for tips and demonstrations. As she spoke, detailing the meaning of the movements and how they layer atop one another, she continually demonstrated them. When one technique was followed up with another, she layered the two atop one another to show how the techniques fit together. And when, at last, she finished up her last technique to teach, she showed the piece of her earlier dance that utilized all indicated exercises. The applause was fiercer, she found. She was thankful for it..

"That concludes what I have to teach you today. Are there any questions?" Her nervousness, previously abated, threatened to return. Ayesha swallowed it down with a needful gulp of water.

Jade Argent - Exit to Exhibition Hall

If this had been nearly a month ago, Jade wouldn't have been reassured by Delilah's gentle shushing and affirmation that things had gone well, but a month was a long time while also being an incredibly short period of time, and considering Dee was practically her shadow...

It was easier to bond and attach than she liked, even if her unremembered past had Jade attempting to keep her at arm's length.

But Delilah was trying and eager and she liked that.

"C'mon," she encouraged reaching to grab the girl's hand before she tugged them both out of the area and into the thick of the convention.

Sadie Avamir, Room Two

And so Sadie found herself ushered from her spot in the audience up into running her own panel. The setup took the full transition time, and she enlisted the help of a few of the volunteers to help her move tables and test the sound settings with a few speakers in the back so that her voice could fill as much of the space as possible. She had brought her nice microphone as well, and after hooking that up, she arranged a few trinkets beside her. There were two glass stopper bottles, a wooden comb, a small dish of jello, a book.

People began to trickle in, and she gave them her gentlest smile, even as she nervously ran her fingers over the things she'd brought. This was very experimental, as live ASMR wasn't really something that worked so well. It was so precise that you really needed that studio to make sure that your sounds came out correctly. Here, especially, with the noise of the convention in the background, talking about relaxation seemed as difficult as it seemed needed.

"Hello," she whispered into her microphone when her panel had officially began, and she rubbed her fingers together, swirling her hands around the mic, sending a pleasant rustling throughout the room. "This is an introduction to ASMR, Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, or if that is difficult to understand, a moment of peace in the chaos of life. Let's take a moment as we begin to relax."

She tapped her fingernails gently on the first of the glass bottles, and then the second. To her, they sounded like little chimes, perhaps the kind that fairies would ring. Glass was one of her favorite things. "This is the point of the ASMR video community. We are here to help you relax, we are here to help you sleep, and in some people, it also triggers a very pleasant and lovely tingling sensation."

As she spoke, she continued to run her fingers across the objects she'd brought. "If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. If not, just feel free to take a moment to relax and breathe."

Adel el-Kader - Room One

He'd had to migrate to the other stage for the third set of panels to catch the one he was there to see. Ayesha, future wife and current fiance, and yet he still felt as if he barely knew her. Not a surprising thing considering they had only met for the first time a couple of weeks prior. Between both their busy schedules there hasn't been much time to meet up, so contract since then had been limited.

However, not knowing her that well yet meant very little in the grande scheme of their situation. They were to be wed, he would be her husband, he had a duty to support her in whatever way he could, and in this instance it was offering whatever moral support he could for the nervous dancer on the stage.

If he managed to catch her eye as she scanned the audience he'd smile, reassuring, but aside from chiming in where expected he stayed quiet through her presentation.

Now, he'd know she danced, that she was very good at it, but aside from a video or two on YouTube he had never actually seen her move. It was...captivating. he found himself fixating on the way her hands moved, the graceful movements of her feet. Every move precise and practiced, and lovely to watch.

When she finished up he applauded with the rest of the crowd before, sitting up in his seat so he could meet her as she descended from the stage.

Isaac Argent - Exiting Room One

His smile was nothing more than polite, a roll of the shoulders in a shrug and the general adjustment of himself including straightening the jacket he wore so it fit more snugly. A bit of fabric armor for the defense of the introvert about to expose himself to a room full of people.

"I get that a lot," he offered, though it was probably unnecessary but Isaac had been conditioned to believe that if he was involved, people deserved to feel like he was sympathetic or cared.

Anything that wouldn't rock the boat too hard.

"You have a good time miss," he said by way of excusing himself, shifting to step past her so that he could leave the room.

Blythe Clemmons - Exiting Room 2

Interesting...She sat back down after nodding towards Suri in turn and considered her answer as she moved on to someone else's question. Medical interfacing...Could something meant for cheap gaming thrills really elevate itself to actual purpose? She'd need to actually sit down and read to make an informed decision, but for now, Blythe was satisfied with the answer.

As the panels began to shift, she moved towards Suri with a business card in hand. "Thank you for the presentation," Blythe said with a faint and polite smile. "I'd like to hear more about AR technology, at your leisure."

back to room 2 oops

Trading off time in the second panel for an opportunity to get food (however...greasy it was), Blythe returned and took a seat for the ASMR panel. She had heard vaguely about it in the past, in passing YouTube titles or blog entries, but a live presentation was not something you saw every day. The panelist herself seemed nervous--why was she whispering? Was that part of the sound quality, or was she just bad at public speaking?

(Relaxation was not one of Blythe's best qualities. Or kindnesses. Or sympathies. Or--)

They were pleasant enough to listen to, she supposed, as she sat back with her arms loosely crossed and watched. The presenter hadn't even introduced herself! Points off.

She raised her hand and asked, "Can you explain the acronym?" Blythe thought she should have anyway, but clearly this one was going to need some nudging to get actual answers. "What exactly is a Meridian Response?"

Delilah Samson - shadowing Jade to Exhibition Hall

It seemed that Jade liked hearing what Delilah said, and that came as a relief. She just wanted to make a good impression, after all. Just wanted to be liked. Just wanted to feel like she belonged and that she wasn't a newborn baby--

Delilah was taken by surprise when her hand was taken, but her eyes lit up in delight when it was. Jade took her hand! That was something friends did, right?

"Okay!"

There was something rather soothing presented by the mixes of Sadie and some of the crowd looked rather confused but intrigued. Still, someone from the staff team stepped up to quietly inform her that she had about ten minutes left in her presentation due to another panel being scheduled right after hers.
