Therion smiled as he shook Saiko's hand. "Thank you good sir. I was sure that you would help the moment that I saw you." He said with a wide grin. He let go of the hand as he looked around. Once he found what he was looking for he stumbled over to the corner of the room and pulled back a hidden sheet. The sheet contained a map, and he pointed to key pieces of it. "The base we're looking for is near Miyoshi Village. This is the group which wants loyalties to be maintained with the Daiymo, and the group which holds in their possession the boy." Therion then traced along the lines of the map. "And over here is the drowned city. Despite being sand ninja, they have taken refuse along the ruins of this village. This is where the group which wants to break free takes their shelter, and they're the ones which are halting the daiymo's son from fleeing with the loyalist." Therion stopped pointing and faced Saiko. "We'll have to side with one of them, and fight the other. So choose carefully where you want to go."
The man let go of Therion's hand and smiled back at him. "I'm a ninja of Suna. Of course I would help you." Saiko would say to him as he watched him pull back the hidden sheet to show the map. As the man spoke, Saiko contemplated heavily. Which group should he choose? Who would Ayame choose? Bastet? Mamoru? The decision was an incredibly hard one to make but, a side had to be chosen. If a new Sunagakure was to be build, Saiko decided he didn't want it to be built subjection to the Wind Daiymo's rule. Sunagakure should be free to rule as they need without the Wind Daiymo threatening them just as they had done once before. "Suna will be a free village, reporting to no Daiymo. Our power will be our own, and we will wield it as we like. If the Drowned City is where we will find those who want freedom, then we will give it to them." Saiko would say to the man, gripping his katana as he spoke. "Let us go!" With that he was off to the drowned city.

__ Zhi and Taylor found themselves dropped off at the eastern shores of the Land of Fire to begin their search for Shinsei, also known as Taylor's redemption. She adjusted her VORTEX mask then stretched a little. "Wowee! Masato sure has a neat trick for getting around and about, huh Taylor?" That sure as heck beat her somewhat convoluted plan to sneak out of the village on a fishing boat. She remembered him and Taylor appearing out of thin air just like that before too; this made a lot more sense of things now. From here they'd look for any signs of Shinsei and gradually make their way back to Awajishima to meet up with Masato again whether they found this guy or not. From there they could reorganize for the next move to be taken.

Taylor felt dizzy when spacial reality started to warp around them. Initially it made him claustrophobic. However, when they then appeared again, the feeling of the walls closing in still felt overwhelming. He discarded his mask which made him feel as though he could breathe easier. "I think I would be happy if we never did that again. Also, how do you guys survive behind these things?" He asked as he was already in the process of taking off his robes. He brushed his hair back as he felt less restrained. He smiled as he turned to the masked Zhi. "So... umm..." He said cautiously as Taylor pointed mildly at Zhi's mask. "Do mask have some sort of reason? Or is it just meant to look intimidating?"

__ Zhi felt a delayed minor bit of vertigo as Taylor mentioned his dislike for that mode of transportation. "Now that you mention it... heh heh." She shook it off with a couple shrugs of her shoulders and more stable placement of her feet. Watching him take the VORTEX robe back off, Zhi tilted her head toward her left shoulder a little. She curiously took her mask away from her face when Taylor pointed at it for a personal inspection, "Hmmn... I guess it is kinda scary." Zhi playfully fanned herself with it then answered with a cheerful smile, "The whole outfit is mostly just for hiding our identity and somewhat for stealth. Now that you mentioned it, I have scared some people with it before too." She shrugged and formed a one-handed seal with her other hand. "Don't really need 'em right now, huh?" With that her VORTEX uniform vanished in a super thin plume of smoke. "Lets get to finding this Shinsei dude, 'kay?" Zhi was beaming with optimism as she started the search they were here for.

Taylor nodded as he began to search. Although he was initially hesitant to be alone with the girl, she has shown herself to be quite personable. A little quirky for sure, but she had a very gentle heart. Taylor had no problem believing that the two of them were friends. He wondered if the two of them could become friends again.
Taylor and Zhi eventually found themselves at a wooden house. Outside of the house there were swords which littered the ground. Taylor stared at the swords curiously as they seemed to be made of bones. "How strange." He said as he reached down and picked one up. He hesitantly held it in his hands when a sharp ringing sound pierced his head. Images started to flash in an order which caused him incredible pain. "Gyah!" He shouted as he dropped the sword. His eyes clenched until the moment passed and the pain resided.
"I'm sorry about that." Taylor said as he turned to Zhi. He tried to smile at her, but an image flashed in his head where he felt himself point a sword at her. He recalled a sense of fear and fury, but not from her. No, in the image which leaked into his head, he saw Zhi look like she was stabbed through the heart. "D-did I attack you?" He asked, frightened by his own potential. Who was he?

__ While Zhi was looking around carefully for any clues that might've been left around the old campsite she jumped out of surprise. Taylor had suddenly screamed in pain which immediately drew her focus back to him. "O-oi... what happened? You okay!?" She rushed to his side as he attempted to recover. However, what was even more offsetting was his question as their eyes met. His regretful and somewhat fearful expression caused her to remember how things played out here awhile ago. For a moment, her gaze drifted solemnly but Zhi quickly brought back her smile and shook her head reassuringly, "No way! You'd never hurt me. Maybe you weren't yourself and said some... things, but you definitely didn't attack me. We're friends, remember?" Zhi attempted to gently pat Taylor on the shoulder and said as she turned about to return to her clue-hunting.
"Friends don't hurt friends..." Playing it off as stretching her arms up over her head, Zhi quickly wiped the reemerging tears as every passing moment made her wish that Taylor might just remember everything again. Not just one thing or another, or only as much as he could since waking up again since whenever. He needed to remember that he was a good person with good feelings and bright ideas. 'Soon... hopefully.' The only things Zhi worried was that the more troubling parts of his past would have to come back. Things that he did, and didn't, tell her about since they became friends. If only he didn't have to suffer that, but she knew by now that nobody could expect all the good without a balanced amount of bad to come with it. This gift that her father bestowed upon her along with the ominous warning were prime examples of that anxiety she kept buried deep within.

"Said things?" He echoed Zhi's words softly to himself, but also to her. It somehow made him feel even worse. Zhi still tried to make him feel better, however. It made him feel like he owed her something. He wished he could think of someway to say that. All that manifested within him, however, was silence.
"Let's... let's keep looking." He said as he moved to investigate into the wooden building. There was nothing nearby which signified anyone had recently lived there. He exited the building and looked toward Zhi. "Doesn't seem like anyone is here. I wish I could be more help." He said with a heavy sigh. He felt so useless. He looked at his friend and smiled. "You seemed to have super luck finding me. Any chance you can use that skill to find Shinsei?"

__ Zhi felt pretty stumped too. There wasn't much to go off of here at the old camp. Honestly, she knew she shouldn't have expected much, but it wasn't like she'd been told where Shinsei was last seen. A soft sigh fell from her lips before she answered Taylor's question, "I wish." Zhi shook her head then explained, "I've got a special skill I mastered to sense other people and things around me through chakra, but my ability recently got a lot weaker. There's only so far that I can sense where others are. My other tracking training helps cover for the rest." Her gaze went back across the sea toward where Awajishima was. Hopefully Masato was having more luck than they were so far.

Taylor thought about the information Zhi gave him. Apparently she did have some sensory skills, but its range was limited. Still, perhaps if she was put into a position of higher elevation, it would help her expand the range of her sensory. The principle applied to radio waves, so perhaps her powers would get boosted from it as well. "We should find you a tall height to scan from then. Maybe that'll help us find this guy." Taylor looked around. The area seemed fairly flat. "I wish we could get a bird's eye view to help us find somewhere." Taylor said as he peered into the distance.

__ Zhi never really thought to try using higher elevations to expand her sensory range. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. However, it was a somewhat tangent thought that made her gasp, "Oh emm gee! I totes forgot about Horus for a second there! You have another super duper important friend. Heck, I hate to admit it but he's probably a closer buddy to you than even I am!" Zhi thought for a moment. The last time she remembered seeing the spectacular thunderbird was back around the residential area of Uzushio. How could she have forgotten about him there? Zhi felt rather ashamed, to be honest. "Uhmm... could you like... try whistling really loud or something? That'll probably call Horus here... through your deep bond... or something like that?" Zhi sounded a little unsure but at the same time wasn't terribly worried. That bird always found his way back to Taylor eventually, no matter what. "In the meantime, I gonna try your idea out so I'll be right back!" Reaching toward the sky, her hikariton chakra was effortlessly formed, shaped, and controlled into bright wisps of light which vaguely resembled wings. "To infinity~!" Disney might totally slap her derriere with some copyright stuff but to heck with it, "AND BEYOOOOOND!" With a swooshing sound Zhi blasted off into the sky to get a better view of everything else. The soft light continued to envelop her body to sustain her enchanted flying ability gifted to her by her father.

"Horus?" Taylor echoed the name when Zhi suggested that he had a friend even closer to he was than her. He wanted to ask her further about what kind of friend this Horus was, but before he could, the girl flew off. "I.... didn't realize people could do that." He said absent mindedly. Still though, she did give an instruction. It seemed weird for him to whistle, but he decided it wouldn't harm anything. He brought his fingers to his mouth and blew. Nothing happened. Curiously, he whistled again, this time louder. Out of frustration, he gave one last massive whistle with all of his breath.
"Come out already Horus!" He shouted. He sighed when nothing occurred. As he turned to look elsewhere, sunlight faded from the sky. Taylor turned his head above to see thunderclouds gathering. Flashes of lightning illuminated the sky. It was then that the majestic thunderbird descended from from the sky. He soared through the air until he turned and landed directly in front of Taylor. Inquisitive eyes locked with Taylor's. He observed the abstract confusion which was present in the boy's face. He shook his head, which caused Taylor to be confused. It was then that Horus flew off.
"Wait come back!" Taylor shouted as the bird flew. The boy smiled when Horus spun in the air and turned around. However, his smile faded when he saw the talons come out to strike out. At the last minute, Taylor dodged rolled to the right to avoid the strike. He felt his body twitch, however, when there was another strike coming his way. Taylor leaped into a roll to dodge a ball of lightning which fell from the sky. Taylor then watched as the bird went back into the air. "What was that for?" He shouted as the bird circled through the air. Taylor felt another attack was coming his way, but he had no idea of how to stop it. He didn't know any attacks after all.

__ Zhi was looking around from up high. Honestly, this sure gave her more of a view with her eyes, but she was definitely not noticing any difference in her actual sensory range. "Well poo..." She grumbled but perked up a little when she detected Horus' chakra signature come into her corner of the world. "Would'ya lookit that? Good bir.... ehhhhh?" Zhi watched as Horus suddenly became aggressive, violent even, with Taylor. Of course she had no idea why, but it seemed that the thunderbird wasn't relenting. Zhi sped back down as a gleaming bluish blur and came to an airborne halt just out of Taylor's reach. "Horus!? What's wrong with you? You're gonna hurt him if you keep that up!" She didn't have to keep facing the bird to keep track of him as he circled above thanks to her sensory abilities, but she knew that he knew about those abilities too. It wasn't a surprise like back when they were genin at the tournament. Zhi knew not to underestimate others, and Horus was no exception having been raised by Taylor who was trained by someone as great as Nariomi.

Horus squawked as he flew straight toward Zhi. Lightning chakra gathered throughout his body. Taylor watched with horrid silence as the lightning chakra manifested into a ball. Just as Horus was within twenty feet of the girl he pushed back in the air with his wings as the ball of lightning flew along his course. It felt as though the ball was moving in slow motion. Taylor felt fear radiate from deep within him. It was much more fear than he felt just moments ago when it was his own life. His body tensed. He was no longer afraid. He was no longer himself.
He leaped into the air and snatched Zhi from the air. His actions caused the lightning blast to miss her. He rolled his back into the impact as he skirted along the ground. He held Zhi tightly to him as he slid along the sand until his back hit a rocky wall. It was then that he yelped out in pain as his eyes were closed from the impact. When he opened them, blue hues looked deeply into the person he cherished most. He blushed a deep color as his grip lightened slightly. "Zhi?! What are you doing here?" He asked perplexed. He instinctively let her go as he took a moment to study her. She was different than he remembered. Her body was... beautiful. She was an adult now. He looked at his own body. He was too? "What am I doing here?" He asked himself as he flipped his arms back and forth. He looked up at Horus, who landed directly in front of them. The bird's eyes stared deeply into Taylor's. Taylor smiled as he reached his hand out to pet the creature's beak. "What's wrong buddy? Are you as confused as I am?" He asked gently. The bird responded by moving in and pushing his head into the boy's chest. Taylor laughed like a kid as he rustled Horus' neck feathers. "Hehe what gives? You act like I haven't pet you in years." He said softly.

__ Zhi prepared herself to block Horus' attack even though she became the target instead of Taylor. "Wah!?" However, just before she could prepare a defense she was pulled out of the air and away from danger by none other than the blond himself. The way that he held her seemed noticeably different between one moment and the next. When she looked up at him from where they landed she noticed that his eyes were blue again- just the way she remembered from before. "Uhhhh..." Zhi gawked with a lack of answer to his question about what she was doing. Just as she started to turn about in his arms to face him he retreated with a face full of embarrassment. This caused her to giggle as he interacted with Horus more familiarly. Unable to hold back her joy, Zhi sprung forward and hugged Taylor affectionately. "Taylor! Welcome baaaaaaack...!!" She whimpered slightly letting the tears of joy just flow as she stuffed her face into his chest and held on like he could disappear again at any moment.
Sobbing, Zhi said, "Y-you were here, then gone, and you weren't yourself. B-but n-now... you're y-you agaaaaaaaain!!" She was totally lost in her pent up emotions regarding him. It was kinda hard to explain something she'd yet to fully understand either. One way or another, Taylor seemed to have lost his memories but now he'd regained them again somehow. All Zhi could think of was that Horus attacking him had to have been some kind of shock therapy or trigger. She'd pull herself away and summon a couple treats for Horus, one for each Taylor and herself to thankfully spoil the thunderbird with. She'd offer hers to Horus with one hand and wipe her eyes with the other.
