Xagarath Ankor I'll probably be dropping by Superman in the next few days... unless I run across a cheap DVD of The Falls, which may have suddenly become a higher priority. Spill, then - what's The Falls? I have to admit I'm intrigued that there's a cinema release of Ju-on 2 (The Grudge). Liked the original, so I might go see that, providing it's subbed and not dubbed. I hear Ju-on: The Grudge 2 is a little silly at times, but, regardless, it doesn't seem to have come out up here. The Falls was the first full film by Peter Greenaway, who I'm beginning to look at with great interest.

What's it about? What is it about Peter Greenaway that has piqued your interest?

Warnersister What's it about? What is it about Peter Greenaway that has piqued your interest? DW I saw the Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, and was duly impressed. The Falls itself is apparant a 3-hour long series of shorts that are just... strange, about people suffering from some bizarre fictional disease. Some condemn it, some call it the best film ever. In the meanwhile, seems Clerks 2 has gotten a generally positive reaction. I will probably have to see.

Saw Pirates 2 yesterday. I thought it was pretty good...like everyone else has said, it's definitely got a darker tone. I just would rather not see ol' Jack get all lovey dovey (well, semi, at least razz ), but that's just me. Oh, and the little bit after the credits was cute, though it's probably not something you'll really think was worth the wait. XP
Can't wait to see how the third installment turns out...guess we got another year for that one, eh?
And now, I can definitely say I'm eager to see the Transformers movie coming out next summer. Although, if you were to watch the teaser without seeing the logo, you'd never know what the movie was supposed to be about...Definitely sticks strictly to the term "teaser".

Pan's Labyrinth, which may well be the best film of the year, hits the UK in September. The Science of Sleep looks decidedly interesting. Beowulf has some sort of teaser thing going on, though no actual footage.

Sea-Salt Ice Cream Saw Pirates 2 yesterday. I thought it was pretty good...like everyone else has said, it's definitely got a darker tone. That's why I can't understand people who say that it was more comedic. If anything, I saw less comedy - but the fact that the overall tone wasn't as light foregrounded what there was. Quote: I just would rather not see ol' Jack get all lovey dovey (well, semi, at least razz ), but that's just me. I'm more concerned by these rumours that the third film could see Johnny Depp singing. smile Quote: Oh, and the little bit after the credits was cute, though it's probably not something you'll really think was worth the wait. XP I waited. So did four more of the people I was with. We had fun winding up the other four, who were waiting around for us afterwards. smile Quote: Can't wait to see how the third installment turns out...guess we got another year for that one, eh? In the meanwhile, I'm sure there'll be plenty of fan-theorising to keep us entertained. I'm already getting wound up by Star Wars comparisons - it's not as though Lucas has copyright on that narrative structure or the character archetypes! Quote: And now, I can definitely say I'm eager to see the Transformers movie coming out next summer. Although, if you were to watch the teaser without seeing the logo, you'd never know what the movie was supposed to be about...Definitely sticks strictly to the term "teaser". Given the news from the San Diego Comic Con about the central voice cast, my interest is rekindled. wink Am currently still trying to see Superman Returns and wondering how Art Garfunkel was talked into a cameo in Clerks 2. smile

I'm slightly ashamed to admit to wanting to see this one, but Snakes on a Plane premieres/releases on 18th August.

Macabre curiosity compels me, too. Given the amount of Internet hype and actual fan input into the project - it's a fairly bold experiment.
If too many cooks spoil the broth, it'll be interesting to see who gets the blame.

If too many cooks spoil the broth, it'll be interesting to see who gets the blame. And there's my other reason- even if I don't think the actual film'll be any good, I have the feeling I ought to see anything with this kind of publicity campaign on principle, just to send a message that listening to fans can, in, fact, work. The more success this gets and is seen as getting, then, frankly, the better chance we have of Serenity 2.

Jack Sparrow has a great voice on him, what are you talking about. "I've got a jar of diiiirt, I've got a jar of diiiiirt! Guess what's inside it!"
Greatest lyrics, greatest melody and greatest singing ever.
I find it kind of funny how we're all anticipating the next movie with no regards for the dramatic ending of the 2nd movie. It's so wasted, as we all know what'll happen.
Though, back when Star Wars was out, we had no freaking clue.

Well, I guess the fact that it was already announced that there'd be both a second and third part to the PotC saga kinda killed the "It can't end like this!!" potential reaction. No idea if that was the case back when "Empire..." came out. Needless to say, people weren't as internet-happy in order to find plot leaks and the like. XP

Universal are Funding Hellboy 2. Between this, Serenity, and Land of the Dead, I'm beginning to heartily respect the company.
