Chie was taken aback when her vortex operatives told her about the new face of Kogarashi approaching her office. Apparently this one was not Takumi. Where did he go? Regardless, she still had a mission to make going forward. A clone was sent to the academy while the real Chie ventured to her office. She wondered what this woman was like.

The limitations of this are as such. First of all, the technique works passively only up to one rank below Chie's current Korabo level. This means that if Chie's Korabo level is A-ranked then it can only be used at a B-ranked potential, which means that Chie can only Korabo two B-ranked techniques to use the korabo skill at A-ranked. This assures that this benefit does not allow the user to passively perform techniques one rank higher than they can usually. Second of all, this technique only applies when Chie korabo's with herself. If she korabos with an ally or a clone then this benefit is non-applicable. Finally, an additional charge of 10 chakra per rank of the final product technique is required to be paid. So if the user Korabo two B-ranked techniques, (the user must also pay for each individual skill), then the final technique would be an A-ranked skill, and thus would cost 50 more chakra to perform this way. Overall this technique's only purpose is to make Chie more cool by utilizing all of her elements and having them combine into super cool ways like a wizard should. _β Hidden Mist Vision ___β Sees clearly during hidden mist technique, or mist in general. _β Fire Resistance Training ___β Negates harm from own fire ninjutsu _β True Belief ___β The user has meditated and trained long enough in this monk art to understand how important true belief is. By understanding the power of the spirit over the mind, and the mind over the body, the user has increased their stamina by sheer will power alone, as well as increased their toughness and durability. Increases Stamina by +25 for every style mastered. _β Enlightenment ___β Meditation and spiritual exploration and understand yields interesting results. Due to the greater understanding of the self, the user is more aware of the connection between their mind, body and spirit, and how to utilize that connection. Additionally, using one or more of the Pi, Qua, and Quan techniques in any combination increases the user's fortitude slightly for one post, to a max of one [1] descriptive rank per trained level in the Soft Physical Formless Style. _β Advanced Endurance Training ___β The user practices holding any stances they know in the most extreme weather of their region, as far from anyone else as is practical. Emiko had tried to go to the kage's office after the strange explosion but the higher ups were preventing those of a lower rank to really interfere. For now, she decided her best bet was to get back to training. Emi walked into the hospital and asked to use the training room for the medical ninja.
Emiko entered the meeting area and would begin by looking through more of the universal jutsu that wouldn't require too much work. Indeed, she appeared to have forgotten one. A resistance technique that could be improved upon numerous times. To begin though, it would just be better to learn the most basic version. She made the appropriate hand seals and felt a faint buzz of chakra come around her, which would help her resist super low tier poisons. Once that was finish, she took a look through the more offensive oriented techniques and found a few that might help. The first was actived with Emiko making a few hand seals and forcing her chakra out onto a target...which wasn't there but would probably be more vulnerable to pain if they were. Another offensive technique would help her gain some distance if somebody was too close. She kept her right hand in a knife shape and forced it in front of her after a rat hand seal. Chakra coated it as it went to its target. Shaking it off of her hand, Emiko felt comfortable with the progress so far. Moving onto the more healing based jutsu, Emiko flipped through a few pages until she found something interesting. First up was something to stop blood from coming out of a wound. A dummy nearby was able to substitute an unlucky person with one. With a few hand seals chakra flooded into the wound and would have closed it had this been something more humanlike. After that came a jutsu to pour oxygen into an unconscious person's system. Ironically the hand seals were birds, and a small gust of air came from her hands which gingerly blew it into her face. To cap the training off, Emiko would go for the really cool jutsu that most of the doctors already knew probably. Readying herself for the oncoming chakra drain, Emiko took a breath and then did the handseal chain as a light green ball of healing chakra appeared in her hand. After a quick flick of the wirst, it was cancelled and she was left feeling ever more confident about her abilities. "Learning is hard work. Maybe Yoshi-chan would be in the mood for ramen later." Emiko said to herself while flipping through more and more textbooks of things that she was going to learn at one point or another. A nurse came in and recommended that she learn the other removal techniques if she wanted to be well prepared for anything out in the field. A pretty good idea. She flipped to the removal pages and practiced on the medical training dummy with the both techniques. The handseals were almost the same, the final one being one of three depending on which would be needed at that particular time. Another jutsu stood out in case something happened and somebody couldn't breathe. Emiko gave it a whirl by focused her chakra into her hands and placing them over the dummy's nose and mouth. THe chakra had nowhere to go but would have helped fill the lungs with air once again for a short amount of time. Finishing up for today's lessons would be two more supplemental jutsu. The first was a more refined version of Shindan, meant to be used after the first. Mimicking the first steps to do so, Emiko soon pushed forth another pulse of chakra through the dummy that was much larger and a slightly darker color. Had it been living, it would have revealed exactly what was wrong. The second of the two was a summoning trick in the event medical tools would be needed. Thankfully a scroll was nearby and would make due for this technique. With a few hand seals and a lot of tries, Emiko managed to finally correctly summon the mock tools from the scroll and seal them back away. Content with what she had learned thus far, she decided to take a break and move outside.

The moment Emiko stepped foot back into the hospital she came to be greeted by a long line of patients all sitting in the front room, waiting to be treated. A few doctors and nurses rushed around, one coming up and recognizing the genin from her previous time spent there. It seemed they were in need of an extra pair of hands or twelve, and who would Emi be to refuse? She hurried to the back to an empty and spare room and began her quick preperation by washing her hands and gathering tools. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
The first patient would just be a warm up. Two academy students came in, carrying a third who was complaining that there was a great amount of pain when he put pressure on his left leg. The feeling had started an hour ago when he was doing some training and landed on his leg after a fall from a tree. Emiko would listen carefully and then lean back down to inspect it. Her hands went over the leg in question as she would perform Shindan. A pulse of chakra traveled through the leg while her eyes were closed, focusing on what would be wrong with it. The feedback looked to be muscles pulled, some swollen and in need of recovering. There wasn't much she could do to solve the problem completely. "This should help." Her fingers touched the leg after a handseal for the massage technique, the swelling slowly going down and pain subsiding. "Just take it easy for a day or so. You'll be fine!" Just as the academy students were walking out, another person came in coughing up something fierce. A mother would hold a mask over her mouth while her pale complexion would make it clear that something was quite wrong with her. A nurse outside would come in and watch, just in case the genin needed help here. Emi would listen to her description of what was wrong. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
A common flu from the sound of it. She was experiencing soreness, nausea, watery eyes, just about every textbook symptom. While Emi sure couldn't cure it completely at her skill level, her eyes went to the nurse beside her for some type of help. "Could you take her somewhere else when I'm done and help her? I can't really make medicine yet." She admitted, embarrassed. Thankfully the nurse would seem to understand and nod quietly. [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
Emiko performed a group of hand seals before placing both hands over the woman as the extraction of the virus would begin. She could feel her chakra working its ninja magic and quickly weeding out as much as the virus as it could. The technique's effect ended with traces still left but enough that the woman appeared to be feeling a little bit better. "Sorry I couldn't get you 100% back, but she'll help you out more than I can!" The nurse led the woman out to the hallway, just in time for the next patient to arrive. A man came charging through and into her room, making poor Emi almost jump out of her chair. He reeked of fish, probably from one of those shops that sell them, whatever they're called. He came in with a rather nasty looking injury. What looked like a very thick nail that had pierced his left index finger. The child would gaze at it while debating what to do until the nurse returned. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
"Ah, um...I guess we extract it and...stuff?" She looked at the nurse whose name eluded her, who agreed with her. It was very hard to tell if it was correct or not, at least not with that stoic face of hers. "Great! Uh, can you hold his...finger for me, please?" She asked, going to grab a nice painkiller pill for the man and waiting a few minutes for it to go into effect. [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
At her merk, both girls would pull as the nail slowly would slide out of his finger before falling onto the floor with a heavy jingle. The wound leaked blood which was healed over with a healing hands by Emiko, but would still require more full healing. To her surprise, the nurse finished him off with a major healing hands of her own, sending him away and winking before gathering the next patient. [Assist the Hospital 3/3 Cleared]
"Didn't know that you could do that." She pouted while cleansing her hands before welcoming in an academy teacher...for whatever reason. He had a lot of shuriken lodged in his shoulder and a very unamused expression on his face. They didn't seem that keep, only partially digging into his skin. His answer for this: fuuton class. Suddenly it made a lot more sense than what Emiko would have though. Academy students and their no control over chakra. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
She started by using the extraction technique to pick out the shuriken from him one by one. After each was pulled, the fresh chakra in the wound would be cleaned off and then healing hands was used to finish the wound off. Each shuriken took about maybe five minutes or so, tedious work but soon enough Emiko would be on her final one. [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
"There ya go. All done." She pulled the last throwing star from the teacher's shoulder blade while he would just take all of it like a champion, too busy being engrossed in some kind of book. Emi had to admire that nonchalant nature though. After gathering the blood spotted rag to help clean his wound, she went in for the final healing hands and sent him on his way. "I hope the next class doesn't go so poorly!" [Assist the Hospital 3/3 Cleared]
A doctor entered as Emiko began by to welcome her next patient. "Hi! What- Oh!" The doctor dropped off his tools on the bench with his back to the child and waved his hand. "Nurse, clean off my tools. Do hurry, would you?" Before Emiko could respond he walked out of the room to talk over the results of one of the more serious medical procedures with some others. From what Emiko could tell, it was pretty serious. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
She wiped blood and other rather disgusting looking viscera from the tools with some of the sanitation wipes on the table nearby. While not exactly the greatest thing to be doing here at the hospital, she was certain there were far worse things to be doing. "Bleh..." After a scalpel came...whatever these scissor things were called. Maybe she should have paid more attention in class or something? Emiko peeled off something she hoped was caked blood from another instrument. [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
While on the last tool of cleaning, the doctor came in and would look surprised at what the child was doing. "Almost done. But I keep-" He interrupted her by claiming all of the tools including the one that she was working on. "Why are you cleaning these? We have a whole squad of nurses for that?""But I've tried telling-" The man walked off in a hurry, leaving Emiko to fuss about, letting out a tired groan. [Assist the Hospital 3/3 Cleared]
"Welcome to the hospital. How can I help?" Emiko asked, quickly turning around to be greeted by a young child and his parents, who looked at her with as much confusion as they did to her. After a moment of silence, the nurses popped her head back in. "They're here for a check up on their son. Nothing too serious." The young genin would mutter to herself while looking around at things around her. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
They first began with the nurse instructing her how to perform the check up, beginning with the blood pressure test. After wrapping the boy's arm in a weird thing, Emiko would pump once and then look at the nurse. She said nothing. Two pumps and then back to her "Just keep pumping until I say so..." Following directions, she did such that and would soon be ordered to stop as the nurse felt around. "That's in good health. Next." [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
The remainder of the visit here was probably the most awkward Emiko had ever felt. here she was, testing the boy's reflexes on his legs while she couldn't have been half of her own age to his. The parents watched her like a hawk, though she secretly envied that same sort of protection. The few more tests came by and the nurse would interrupt to tell the parents about the good news. "Nothing out of the ordinary, it seems. We'll see you again in a year." The family walked out as the genin waved them down and would sit down again in a huff. Being a doctor was so exhausting. A man walked in, worse for wear. He reeked of smoke with several lacerations and the like on his body. Emiko nearly gasped at the condition he was in. "W-What the hell happened to you?" she asked. Did she just curse while doing that? Sweet. The man would regail her as several nurses and doctors would barrel towards the front of the hospital past her room. [Assist the Hospital 1/3]
The man would regail young Emiko to what happened. The kage's office had been attacked then? An explosion had rocked it by some force or another, causing a lot of damages and from the sound of yelling outside the room, a lot of injuries. She was silent, doing her best to extract all the pieces she could and healing them as best she could. The man hadn't had the worst injuries but having bits of charred wood in your wasn't the most ideal of states. [Assist the Hospital 2/3]
After countless extractions, she was in a good enough state to rest and recover, Emiko wiping sweat from her brow as she moved off of him and helped apply some bandaging and cream for the burnt parts of his skin. "Just take it easy for a while and recover. D-Don't try and play hero." she warned the man, thinking back to how Kairi almost lost his life because of the same exact thinking. He trudged out, leaving Emiko for a moment of peace for now. [Assist the Hospital 3/3 Cleared]
Getting up, Emiko ran to the Kage's office.

Arriving at the hospital, Yoshiro stopped just outside the main entrance. While he may have been able to find the building with ease, he had no idea of building's actual layout. For that, he would need Emiko's guidance. "Alright. Lead the way." he said, looking back to her as best he could without jostling the man on his back.
Emiko, Yoshiro and the fallen one burst through the doors, the young fiery haired girl rushing to the front desk and then hopping up to the front desk. With her legs stretching out so she could see on top, the genin would speak to the worker there. "Hey! We need help! This guy was harmed in the office explosion and was poisoned. You're gunna be okay." It was hard to tell who Emiko was speaking with, be it the poisoned person or herself. And to be completely fair she didn't know either. The ground of medics came and helped the guy onto a wheeled bed and would rush him into one of the nearby rooms as they would wheel him away. "C'mon." Emiko took Yoshiro's hand and pulled him in the direction of the cart.
Corner were turned, nurses were rushed around but the two eventually came to the room UA5, where the patient would be resting. Medics and such surrounded him, providing care while an antidote was prepared. "I think he's gunna make it." Emi said before turning to Yoshiro and smiling. It lasted for only a while before she hugged him. It was soft at first before increasing in strength as the girl would just break down. Tears fell from her face, sniffling as she would bury her face in Yoshiro's shoulder. "I-I couldn't save people because I was so weak...I-I can't do anything right. There w-wuh-was a dead guy under ruble and his hand. I felt it...It was so cold..." Regardless if Yoshiro would entertain her moment of weakness, she just crumbled to the floor in a crying, heaping mess. "W-Why would anyone do this?..."

~THE CHOUGA CHRONICLES~ -A tale of a now simple postman's path to redemption by standing his ground in a sudden war- As they took my vitals I was having quite the dream, even my conscious thoughts had gone and faded. A wholesome home, I opened the door, wearing a business suit and tie. Why was I wearing a business suit and tie? "Honey I'm home!" I'd say in that stereotypical late eighties family sitcom voice, you know the one. That's when I would be rushed by a gaggle of children. Seventeen. They all had the faces of the students I had been tasked with keeping watch over. Well if they were all toddlers at the ages of three and four again. I'd lean down as they all began to climb on top of me. "K..kenta was burrying be." I'd pat the head of a tame, fragile Nanako a fierce juxtaposition to her real-world counterpart who had begun crying. Unknown to me this crying was being translated ffrom Emiko's cries in the real world. I'd pat her head and reassure her. While simultaneously scolding tiny Kenta but questioning him. "Kenta what did I say about picking on Nanako? Apologize." "I'm showwy nannyko." he would say defeated kicking his tiny little leg in shame.
Then I'd hear a "Dinners ready!" looking up I would see Chie-dono...or Chie-chan. Yes, we'd been happily married for...how long was it? Sporting an apron and oven mitts that looked like neko faces what could only be something of a cartoonishly large elephant sized plate of meat was held in her hands. The scene cut to myself and the kids at the dining table a combination of chaos and serenity all at the same time. Chie-chan would rest her head on my shoulder while my cheeks were stuffed with meat. I would look down at her from my angle and smile before swallowing at this my satisfied life.
The scene moved onwards to both myself and Chie-chan in a playroom bigger than anything that would be deemed humble. The kids all running around. Tadaso trying to start fights. Kei playing with those magnetic fishing toys and Keiji playing chef in a play house filled with the girls who were all pretending to be really important heroes of the village. As if out of instinct I'd call out to them as both Chie and I grouped them up and read them all a story until they all drifted to sleep. Then with my sizable akimichi hands I'd cradle them all and put them to bed tucking them in as I kissed each on their foreheads. That's when Chie-chan and I looked at each other.
The last thing I remember...opening the door to our bedroom. Chie-chan laying on the bed as I opened the door to the room. A tasteful silk garment that stretched down to her legs as she slowly began pulling it up...meanwhile in reality. "Alright I administered the antidote. It will likely take some time before it spreads through his bo...his heart rate just shot up drastically! Quick check to see if he's stable!" My body started quaking and shaking as my nerves and muscles were coming back to life as the doctors and nurses held me down so as not to hurt myself or damage any equipment. Then that's when I awoke with a shout that I faintly remember despite how loud it was. "CHIE-CHAN I'M TELLING YOU IT WON'T FIT IF I GO ANY BIGGER!" I blinked twice and looked around me the nurses and doctors visibly shocked as the room grew silent. I could only say one thing after that. "What happened?"

Following Emiko's lead, Yoshiro carried the unconscious man into the hospital. Thankfully, they were quickly met by a group of staff who provided a gurney for Yoshiro to lay the man down on while Emiko explained the situation. It was certainly a relief, both knowing that the man was being given proper care and not having to carry him on his back. Although, any actual rest would have to wait, as he felt Emiko suddenly grab his hand and drag him through the halls behind the medics.
After several twists and turns, the man was finally taken into a room for treatment and Emiko came to a stop outside the room. "I think he's gonna make it." Seeing the smile on her face as she looked back at him, Yoshiro wanted to do his best to affirm her optimism. "Uhhhh. Yeah. Totally." he replied, though his voice was a bit shakey. Truthfully, he had no idea what would become of the man they had brought with them, having absolutely no medical knowledge. They'd gotten him to the hospital though, so if the guy had any chance of survival, this place was definitely his best bet.
Unfortunately, Emiko's smile was all too temporary, her face quickly becoming buried in his shoulder as she began to cry. Feeling her arms wrap around him, Yoshiro's body immediately tensed up, a physical representation of his mental processing of the situation. 'Uhhhh.' What was he supposed to do? 'Uhhhhhhhh.' He definitely understood where she was coming from. He had felt the same way after the leaf village fell. It's what inspired him to pursue the path of the shinobi. 'Uhhhhhhhhhhhh.' But he couldn't tell her that, right? There was no way he was ready for that level of emotional vulnerability. 'UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.' This sort of touchy-feely stuff was way out of his wheelhouse.
Eventually, Yoshiro was able to work up the nerve to attempt to hug Emiko back. Unfortunately, it came just seconds too late. Just as he went to move his arms, he felt Emiko release her grip on him as she sank to the floor and continued to weep. While he couldn't be upset with Emiko, knowing how tough all of this was for her, he couldn't help but let out a light sigh of frustration. Still, with her now being out of arms' reach, it seemed he would have to attempt to resort to words as a means of consoling her. 'Ah man. This is gonna be rough.'
After taking a quick calming breath, Yoshiro cleared his throat and began his best attempt of providing words of comfort. "Look. I uhhhh... I don't know why people do things like this. They just sort of....you know........ happen?" Clearly trying to answer her question about the existence of evil was beyond his philosophical capabilities. 'Ah man. this isn't going well.' he cringed, awkwardly looking up and away from Emiko. As such, he decided to approach the matter from a different angle. "But that's not important!" he exclaimed. "What is important, is that we don't back down! When assholes show up to threaten our homes and hurt the people we love, we dig deep and face them head on! That's what shinobi do!" Feeling his spirit begin to burn, he clenched his fists and continued his speech. "And sure, maybe there's not much we can do right now, but that doesn't mean we should lie down in defeat. It means we should dig in our heels and keep moving forward, giving each step we take everything we've got."
Honestly, the words he spoke were just as much for himself as they were for Emiko. Between the destruction of the hidden leaf and the loss of his home in Uzu's restaurant district, Yoshiro had felt utterly pathetic, being of no help in either situation. But this time, he had managed to actually help someone, and even if he was only able to save just that one life, that made all the difference. Still, the point of this speech was to cheer up Emiko so Yoshiro decided he could pat himself on the back later for his accomplishments. "And think of all the good you've done! You helped a ton of people today! You were awesome!" he said, finally looking down at Emiko.
After a brief pause, Yoshiro extended his hand to Emiko, offering to help her back onto her feet. "So uhhh..... what do you say? Wanna get up and keep giong?" he asked her, his tone far softer and with less confidence. Honestly, he had been flying by the seat of his pants during his little speech and had no idea if any of the words he said would resonate with Emiko. All he could do was hope that something he said would get through to her.
On the cold hospital floor, Emiko sat continuing to cry over the whole situation. The both of them didn't seem to be able to pinpoint just exactly what was going on or why anybody could have done this to such a lonesome village. At least one of the two still standing now. Yoshi's first words weren't exactly awe inspiring to her, only admitting that he couldn't think of a reason either.
"Look. I uhhhh... I don't know why people do things like this. They just sort of....you know........ happen?"
Emi raised her head of tears to give him a confused look just before he would seem to hit his stride soon enough.
"What is important, is that we don't back down! When assholes show up to threaten our homes and hurt the people we love, we dig deep and face them head on! That's what shinobi do!"
Yoshiro went on and on as the girl dried her tears on her arm and would sit and listen to the gospel of the boy. If anything, Emiko admired his courage to be the first to speak his mind and his tenacity, qualities she couldn't find in herself deep down. He seemed to be getting more into this speech though Emiko would continued to doubt herself. Yoshi even commented about her skills in healing people the best she could. It wasn't on the level of Sonyo or another medic but it was something. Emiko seemed to resonate a little with that, making a small smile.
"I...guess you have a point."
A hand was offered to her from Yoshiro, asking if she wanted to get up and keep going. Her eyes lingered on it for the longest time but soon would reach out and grab hold of his. "Yeah. Let's keep going." She was helped to her feet and dusted herself off before wiping some more stray tears from her eyes. Once more, Emiko hugged Yoshiro tight, a bit of a hugger. "Thanks, Yoshi. I really needed that." If the boy were to hug back, Emi might feel in a better mood but he seemed like the type to hesitate somewhat, so she stayed long enough to make up his mind.
"We should get to training eventually. I need to learn a few things here, but...maybe after we could go learn more taijutsu together? Maybe some ramen after?" Emi asked. Even with the pill she had taken, her hunger was tremendous at the moment. Some kind of food would be good but ramen was quick and cheap.
"I just figured I'd ask since you and Kairi use taijutsu a lot. I wanna learn some myself in case I need to punch stuff."

~THE CHOUGA CHRONICLES~ -A tale of a now simple postman's path to redemption by standing his ground in a sudden war- I'd been filling in for the most part, I think at least we were under attack but yet my head was still somewhat cloudy on what exactly happened to leave my level of processing slowed to a crawl. Looking at all the medical staff in the room acting awkwardly I sighed I must have said or done something...again. The sound of a door opening, as I stood to see two kids in the hall. Little did I know that they were my saviors. I couldn't help but put my one hand on Emiko's shoulder to laugh happily if not groggily from all the anesthesia...uh wait did they use anesthesia? You wouldn't need to use that on someone unconscious already would you? Id pick up on this vibrant child's desire to punch things and give her my two cents. "Well now if you have any desire to punch things I'm the guy who could learn ya a thing or two kiddo."
"Wait..." A revelation came across my forehead in an eyebrow twitch then a nose. "OOOOOOOOOOH s**t! THE KIDS!" My hand would immediately leave Emiko's shoulder as I started ugly running towards the exit kicking up dust behind me. Then I realized that I had left a conversation so abruptly I couldn't help but feel my departure was rude. I turned heel and started running backward. "Don't know who you are but stay safe okay goodbye!" The words flew from my mouth like some kind of verbal diarrhea in my rush. I was moving at such a rate backwards I obviously had no clue as to what was behind me. My well toned buns and thighs slamming into a nurse carrying hypodermic needles. I'd wince momentarily in pain before turning around to face the exit again.
I would do a queens goodbye where you wave goodbye with your back turned a collection of hypodermic needles looking painfully embedded into my back. I could only hope they were sanatized. There was no time to waste by the trembling of the ground there was something wrong. Hopefully I could be of use...and more importantly make sure my kids were safe. What kind of dad...er shinobi...er mailperson would I be If I let anything bad happen to them.

As the man brought the two into the hospital, he immediately gave orders to the nurses to clear the way for him. Saiko was possibly one of the most well known Medical nins in the hospital so, they immediately did as he asked. The man brought the two to the closest room. The clones set Karuto and Koutetsu down in beds in the room. The boy really didn't need much healing, just watching. Saiko would allow someone else to handle them both. His job wasn't finished and his strength was needed else where. For now he would wait for someone capable to take care of them.

Barely conscious he was carried into the hospital- multiple limbs bent at angles that they had no right to be at and a deep wound in his abdomen. Any medical professional would be able to tell that Karuto was at death's door...
