Acteon followed their sort of makeshift group (including that shitty shirtless blueblood) into another section of the hive. The ballblock, which naturally got their lusus excited. The crocotta chortled and lifted his dainty legs, stepping carefully onto the debris.
Let's dance, Acteon! Just as a beautiful ballblock should be used for. Come dance with me, he said excitedly, extending a paw to them. "Ugh, Steppy, no, it's yucky here, and full of trash. There's nowhere to dance," they whined to their lusus, despite taking his paw and letting him lead.
Which, of course, was a mistake. They moved only a little bit without looking and stepped on something sharp that pierced through their boot. "Ouch! What... ow," they pouted, pulling the sharp piercing instrument from their boot. "This is stupid, why are there needles everywhere?" they complained aloud.

"Needles?" Stemma was shocked at the thought. "Are your feet ok? I hope you have a strong immune system!" She said, in a somewhat concerned tone. Reaching down to sift through some of the garbage, she picked out something that seemed at least partly interesting.
"What is this?" She thought aloud, turning the intestinal nugget in her hand. "I don't think it's a clue, but is it... a sign?"

"Doesn't everyone keep needles in ballblocks?" Guo asked with a smirk. Honestly he wished more did; maybe he'd go to fancy parties if that was the case. You'd have to be hardcore to risk getting jabbed in nice clothes. In the end, who knew why there had to be so much weird medical s**t here. But maybe that's why Glamis stayed outside, so he didn't have to deal with the trash like the rest of the fools in here.
"If you don't like it, you can go sit outside or somethin'."

"Ack!" Stemma jumped at the pillar's loud crack, watching it carefully through peeked hands. This place was unsanitary, unsafe, and just scary. Stemma knew what she was getting into, but she didn't know it would be this bad.
Taking a breath, she shook off her fears. She just needed to focus. Things were only scary if she made them scary.

Acteon frowned at all the nasty things around them, but from the corner of their eye they saw what looked to be... something useful! They picked it up, taking much more care not to step on any more needles, and lifted it up. A piece of cloth? A rug? It probably used to be very nice, once upon a time, but now it was pretty much trash.

Fletch made one big, bad mistake, and Guo could see the seadweller start to go down. "Hey! Broski! The hell're you doin'!" He reached for the kid's arm. He grabbed and held tight, but their combined weights in such a precarious space tipped them over.
Guo let out a surprised yelp as he fell in with his friend.

"Sorry, we didn't mean to get in your way, sir, ma'am, sir, ma'am, sir!" He looked from face to face with a flustered blush on his cheeks. They were all wearing uniforms, some more decorated than others, and he was a little worried that they were going to scold him and Demari for being a bother. He reached back to put a hand on Roa's fur for a little reassurance but his lusus didn't comment on anything. The tiger was busy watching the other cub as Mio fixated on the curtains across a window.
"We won't mess up your missi- Mio, no!" Volkei barely turned in time to see his brother leap and claw at the curtains, causing the window bugs to scatter everywhere, making a huge mess. Roa lumbered after the cub, picking him up via mouth by the scruff of his neck.
Volkei took Demari's hand in his own to try and comfort her. He knew she was easily scared and possibly annoying some officers probably had her even more nervous than normal!

"My apologies! We will leave you to your investigation!" It was a comforting to know they were around for if anything truly got out of hand. She swallowed nervously at the idea of leaving them, though, and squeezed Volkei's hand as he led her away, after Mio.
"Oh Mio! That's not nearly as fun as this antlerbeast! Look!" The girl attempted to try and get Volkei's brother's attention so they could lead him away from the windows and further to a safer area. Her plan backfired as what looked like a million spiders cascaded out of the object and she began to scream. It was a good thing the glass windows were already busted.
"KYAAAA! OH MY GO-" Tears poured down her face as she dropped the head but it was too late. Like glitter, they were everywhere.

"It is wonderful to have you with us, twins." Flydra smiled coolly at the Mirrim twins. She remembered them from that night in Civisect. It was hard to forget two perfectly symmetrical specimens that seemed completely in sync with each other. Troll siblings were an odd topic to the doctor. One she would love to research if she only had the time. How wonderful it would be to have two subjects so similar to each other to use as a control in her experiments. But to ruin the symmetry would be a waste somehow. Especially such polite and dutiful children as these. Maybe if she could get her hands on some filthy rebel children...
"Ah." Flydra let out a flat but loud yelp of pain as a piercing stab shot through her foot. It looked like she had dropped some of her needles and stepped on them! How embarrassing in front of everyone! She reached down to pluck it out of her foot and stuff it away in her bag of supplies.
"Everyone, stay alert..." She said lamely, aware of how stupid it sounded after she stomped on her own syringe.
