Sephos ArbolaSephos didn't react much, not to shrieking squeakbeasts, not to shrieking gutteral nonsense-sound-ing trolls. He was, however, very concerned about the antics before him. He gave engrav an uncertain look, and Caiden an even less certain look. What to do with that uncertain concern, however, Sephos had no idea, aside from standing there. Staring. Wondering if he should reach out and help, or... And then he noticed that he did see something. "... You have birds around your head." he said, his deadpan voice masking utter amazement. They were blue - actually, really blue. Piercing, bright blue... Oh, hey, a pizza box. Sephos had never actually had pizza... but that wasn't important now. It had happened almost here, too, he thought he could see part of the other patch of broken floor as he fell... Used to heights, Sephos instinctively assumed a landing position, trusting his sturdy body to handle it. "This seems more your speed!" The highblood smiled at her partner. His interest in cooking professionally had been noted and she was already curious to see how his dreams would come true. She was eager to be a part of it, wanting to fund his business! It was a bit early to say if it would be a smart investment or not, but through his actions in the Trophy Room Volkei had proven to be great under pressure. His relaxed aura had been very soothing with all of the stress she'd felt. She found herself fairly convinced that she'd want to keep him around.
"It's a bit sad though." Demari sighed wistfully as she looked over what once was. She wished she could have seen this place when it'd been alive and bustling. Crumbled into its own skeleton, the nutrition block lay dead under their feet. Trying to step around the bad smelling water, Demari yelped as she felt part of the ground give under her and grabbed onto Roa to steady herself.

“Whoa, it’s okay.” The blueblood grabbed hold of him and the redblood paused to help steady her. The nutrition block was in bad shape like much of the rest of the hive. He hoped the roof above them was more structurally sound than the floor seemed to be. Taking her hand in his, he started walking again.
“See? Everything’s fin-“ Before he could finish, his foot went through the floor and Volkei let out a yelp of pain as his ankle emerged with a couple of scrapes. Roa instantly leaned down to lick at the wound, scolding him for his recklessness with a series of deep huffs and grumbles.
“We’re not having much luck, huh?” Volkei’s smile was more nervous than relaxed this time.

"Oh! It looks like your pants-" The redblood's clothing had caught on the splintered remains of the step and so Demari stepped closer to pick the threads free. This was a mistake, she would learn, as her added weight to the steps over-stressed the wood and the blueblood began to fall as well.
"Eyaaaaah!" Demari screamed and grabbed upwards to try and get her hands on anything! The swarm began to dive after her in panic!

"Yikes, thanks, De-" The redblood turned to thank Demari as she began to fall through the floor. Instinctively he lunged forward to grab at her arms and hold on. Roa bit down on the seat of Volkei's pants to keep the two children from falling in. Mio bit down on the hem of the pants and weakly tried to tug his brother back up. Roa pulled them back out, backwards until they were all safely in a heap in the corner of the room. Volkei's bloodpusher was pounding from the experience and he cradled the poor girl in his arms to comfort her.
"It's okay, we're safe now. We're alright and Roa's not gonna let anything happen to us." His lusus was grumbling in low growls about how dangerous this place was and how the two of them needed to stay closer to their lusii. He licked at Demari's hair to groom and comfort the child in his own way. They needed to be inspected and cared for before he would allow them to crawl around this dirty dangerous place again.

Back to the cooking area, maybe this time with less glass? Doubtful. That would require cleaning, and no one was going to be doing any of that s**t. This was very clearly the mansion's last hurrah, and who would clean for that? It was a dog-eat-dog competition, Guo was sure, with absolutely no evidence to back him up.
He kept up with the kids because, well, he didn't really know what to do with himself otherwise. He could go solo, but, eh. He enjoyed watching the spoiled brats wig out.

Stemma tried to walk up the stairs, but her foot crunched right through the flimsy boards. She briefly shouted, but managed to back up in time without getting stuck. She was getting a little frustrated with her search party, but she was too proud to let it show right away. Instead, she dusted off her skirt and kept up her search.

His eyebrows went up at Mallok's find. Kids seemed to be always finding junk, and Guouli got nothing but the sharp stuff. Oh well. He could take it. But finding such nice gloves? Pretty dope, actually. "Good s**t, kid," he offered to the greenblooded juggalo. Maybe Fletch was right. Maybe ******** miracles indeed.
Now if only they could get the miracle of not falling into the catacombs as they kept investigating. Talk about hard mode.

"Those are interesting," Stemma looked over the gloves. They were big, and lined with special fur. They were still very smelly, so Stemma was sure to pinch her sniffnode. "They're expensive, at the very least. High enough quality to have survived, after all." She pursed her lips, internally pretty excited about the find.
