Nastara was tired of being kept back from all the fun. Just because she got grumpy sometimes didn't mean she was anti-social. Or at least so she told herself. So she decided to go to this Hunter's Jubillie celebration was all about. Worst case scenario she'd find a way to win some candy and hang around and watch people.
Deciding that she liked that idea Nastara stepped up to one of the games that had enticing bags of candy for the taking- with a flick of her wrist she tossed the ring- and it went right around the center pole- and before she knew what was happeing someone was yelling that she was a "Winner winner winner" and handing her some sort of......plushie? What was she supposed to do with this?
Danielle rolled her eyes at Chess for the comparison of her to the grumpy plushie. She knew the neko was just teasing but sometimes she wondered if they knew when to stop. She shifted in place to withdraw into herself as she looked around, making sure no one was too close before she saw a snowcone stand. Those looked pretty tasty."Well.....did you want to get a snack to start? Those snowcones look pretty good..." She could see some that were strawberry flavor and she needed to have one. She liked strawberry.
Chess just wanted to see Dani smile. She'd been so isolated and grumpy lately that they knew she had to get out and have a little fun. She mentioned snowcones and their ears perked up, looking in the direction of the stand and broke out into a huge grin. "Aaaawww, yeah! I need me some blueberry blast!" Chess grabbed Dani's hand and pulled her eagerly to the stand so they could get their sweet icy treat.
Guzma couldn't wait to take Tater (yes, that's what he named it) home and introduce it to Flossy. Hopefully she'd take to the little duder...another little dummy to look after, which she seemed to enjoy. Speaking of his adorable bunyip, he saw some bunyip plushies being given out and he couldn't resist; he made a beeline for them and found one that looked the most like his little (hah) solstice angel. As he admired the plush he felt something warm and furry brush against his leg. Looking down he saw a brightly colored vespercat rubbing on him in an affectionate way and his smile got even bigger. "Kitty dude!" He set Tater on his shoulder and picked up the vesper, giving it a little careful skritch under its chin to hear it purr. "You look like Razzleberry Crunch.....perfect!"
Chidori admired her plushie as she walked around, looking at all of the romantic (if not rather garish) decor. It was cute in its own way and she had to smile. She was moving on when a curious sight caught her attention; a kidden was prancing her way with a colorful boa around its neck while it nibbled on one end of it. How in the world it ended up with it in the first place she didn't know....but it came over and lightly butted its head against her and dropped the boa's end from its mouth. "Is....that for me?" The little thing bleated as if to say yes and she picked the boa from its neck, looking at it curiously. Well....why not? Fabulously, she wrapped it over her shoulders with a sassy sort of flair that made the kidden prance in a circle happily. Oh yeah....she could rock it.
Sparrow mosied about looking enraptured yet serene. She must have drawn attention somehow because she was handed yet another plushie; a bunyip this time in complimentary colors to the spectrefox one she got. Aaaww, they were just so cute!
"Lilly. Jane's grip tightened on the freshling's leg as if it was the only thing keeping her alive. Lilly was safe. Comforting. Her lips puckered in a pout as she laid her chin upon the girl's leg. "Sorry." She didn't mean to scare her. Was she scary? Her brow furrowed, deep in thought. She didn't think she was scary...Her eyes, unblinking looked back up at Lilly. "Still scared?"
A roommate. Jealousy began swirling in her stomach as she glowered at the other girl. "I want to be your roommate." Moving to the academy was daunting. She didn't even have a roommate. The last one...moved rooms. The girl sighed. She missed her papa. Someone to live with was needed and Lilly was the perfect person, she was sure of it.
And since the other girl wanted to leave..."Bir--Birkuta isn't a good roommate." she stated matter of factly. The hybrid's name was too hard to say. Another strike to the "bad roommate" list.
Jane suddenly paled as she felt small fingers touch her skin and crawl underneath her sweater. "L-Iil," she wiggled uncomfortably as it moved around and down her. What was it? Frantically she patted her sides. Wh-What was happening?
Liv tilted her head to the side as she heard a familiar voice. Very familiar.
Oh no.. She paled, her face draining of color. She definitely knew that voice. Reece. Liv looked at the hybrid in front of her a bit pained. She didn’t mind Reece, but why now of all times? In front of her arch nemesis?! Today really was starting out to be a bad day. The senior was starting to regret coming out to the festival today. It had only been a few minutes and already she was met with a gryftoo that she’d rather not have around and in a difficult situation. Although, in all honesty, she didn’t mind Reece. Her brain may not have not been all there but the girl was…..nice.
As if she’d say that out loud. Liv gave the girl a wry smirk. What a terrible situation they’ve gotten into. ”Hey Reece,” the senior stiffly recopricated the hug with one arm, her heart practically in her throat. The girl was offly touchy. She still wasn’t used to it. Do all friends hug each other? How weird. The affection was nearly too much. The only thing stopping her from pulling away was the comforting warmth that came with it. ”It’s nice to see you.” She just wished it wouldn’t have been in front of him. The slaugh eyed Nym.
Something dripped on her leg, making her cringe and look down to see what the source was. Ew. The gryftoo had found a new toy. Apparently. It dropped it at her feet while looking at her expectantly. ”Thanks, although her face far looked from appreciative. The slaugh picked up the spectrefox carefully….and wound up with a fist full of slobber. God, and she thought bark was bad. ”Does Bark need a new chew toy?” she motioned down towards the gryftoo. They started back at her, twisting it’s head in a way that she didn’t think was skeletally possible. At least they would have some sort of use.
5, 17,14,17, 6,16 ----- Baum briefly entertained the idea of saying it was because he had a good memory and he hardly forgot anything but he had been told once that poeple liked to think of themselves as special so he changed what he was going to say into a nod. " of course, I don't just go out to yogurt places with just any after all" Baum replied. " ah I am not here with anyone actually. Kind of silly for a couples festival but it's always a good time to pick up familiars or try to meet new people" yeah not going to mention the real reason he was here. As if to help him with his earlier statement a nezubat just landed in his hair, messed it up a bit before claiming the top of Baum' head as it's own. It looked at Claire and almost seemingly bobbed it's head as if approving of her too. -------------------- Neph totally knew what trivia was doing. The Geist was a bit rough around the edges but they tried around people they called theirs. She had never figured out what she had done to be considered trivia's but having a close friend was... well it was nice. " you look dashing as always, and look it totally matches with your clothes" Nephthys teased in a fond way. She got a plushie shoved at them in retaliation. " triv why am I getting another one?" ----------- " it's obvious why I threw it at you. You were starting to be a git. Plus you know i do listen to you and anubis when you talk about plushies. It needed a friend" trivia muttered adjusting their boa and throwing it over their shoulder again. " of get that smile off your foul face. I mean it neph" of course the goblin traitor just kept smiling sweetly at them. Ugh why did they bother with friends again? Food was better. Food didn't grin at you.... most of the time. To distract themselves and look away from Nephthys trivia turned away and grabbed something from one of the trays nearby. Huh it seemed to be a snow cone of all things. --------------------------- keres practically jumped it of their skin when someone actually acknowledged him. Sure he had come here for friends but often unless he spoke up no one really spoke back. Still he turned to face them and took a deep breath drawing his face out from the boa to face the other nightmare. " ah it is a bit bright. I admit that but it was the only color that really matched. My shade of green doesn't go with too much I find." He replied sheepishly tugging at the bottom of the boa apparently another person thought he was pitiful looking as well and handed him a plush. Okay now he was a clashy watermelon. At least everything was soft. -------------------------- " huginn, if you think that muninn is unobservant then you have another thing coming" muninn suddenly sing-songed. He had spotted his younger brother a while back and wondered what huginn was doing. However after a while he realized that huginn was following him. Huginn was the type not to say anything fearing they were interrupting anything so muninn needed to be the one to say something. Walking over he grabbed a bag of candy to much while he waited to see what huginn would say. normally he spent the festival with Mani. However spending it with huginn might not be bad either. -------------------- "you weren't supposed to notice Muninn, you cant make friends if you are around me. They'll think we've paired up for the festival" Huginn pointed out folding his arms. "However I didn't think you were unobservant I just hoped that you were preoccupied. Still apparently it seemed as if Muninn had solved his current dilemma and huginn walked the rest of the distance til he was standing next to his brother. They hardly looked alike if you took away their wings but with the wings, it was obvious they were related. Huginn took his own bag of candy to munch on.
Reece smiled and released Liv. That was the most positive reaction she had from her yet. Perhaps Liv was finally growing to like her! She looked down to where Liv was gesturing. "Awww a gryftoo! Poor thing must've wandered off... I wonder where it came from." Reece picked up the drooling fluff ball and squished it lightly like a plushie. "You are absolutely precious! But she is right, Bark would mostly likely mistake you for a toy." Turning her attention back to Liv, she noticed her friend was starring daggers into the fluffy nightmare infront of them. Wow that boa was horrendously orange. "Oh.. I'm sorry am I interrupting something..again..?". Reece had been making a habit of having horrible timing when she found Liv in public. Not that she ever did it on purpose but the thought never occurred to her to observe for a moment before going in hot like a vespercat who just saw a flitterrat.
She smiled sheepishly and took the drool soaked toy from Liv who was bearly holding it with disgust. The grytoo promptly stuffed it in its mouth while continuing to stare blankly a Liv from Reece's arms. Reece paused for a moment when she felt a pulling on her shoulder bag. It turns out she had attracted the attention of a straying rammykins. This wasn't really her type of familiar but she knew someone who would absolutely adore them. While waiting for Liv to respond she sent a quick text to a fallen name Faye notifying them that the jubilee had their favorite familiars and she stumbled upon one for them.

Camellia --- Camellia carried the fox plushie in her arms, smiling at everyone she walked past, she decided to have a go on the tombola, buying a handful of tickets she was delighted to win another plushie, apparently today was a lucky day for plushies!

--- Jarred, ren & their new Kidden buddy were delighted when someone came up and draped a fluffy boa on Jarred's shoulders, he laughed and removing it wrapped it around Ren with a grin, the Kidden was indifferent, nose in the air. --- Jarred & Ren's items;
The gryftoo was not awe worthy. They looked like their eyes were bulging out of their sockets, like they were a few steps away from being trampled by a horseless carriage. So dumb. The creatures tongue lolled out of it’s mouth as it continued not to blink. Did it ever blink?!
Cute was definitely not one of the words that she’d use to describe them. She gave Reece a strained smile. ”Wandered off, huh? The slaugh glanced down at the sitting familiar. ”Where did you come from? Who is your owner?” They had to be someone’s. Liv was sure that the gryftoo wouldn’t be alive otherwise. Natural selection was real right? She prodded the creature with her foot, a forced smile on her lips. ”Why don’t you scurry off and find them, hm?
Much to her dismay, they didn’t. So much for hoping.
At least Reece seemed to like them. Then again, Reece was so easy to please. How could she even touch that thing with her hands?! ”It might be diseased,” she blurted out, not even thinking. Having to deal with a diseased gryftoo was one thing but a nightmare? She didn’t think she could deal. She did owe Reece for helping her out so much though…
Unfortunately it didn’t seem like fate. Even if the grimm did call the creature precious. A sigh fell from Liv’s lips as the gryftoo went back to the ground and curled around her feet again. ”Will you stop that?!”
The next words out of Reece’s lips caught her off guard, making her look up. ”No. You aren’t interrupting anything.” Oh, yikes. She probably said that a bit too fast. As much as she enjoyed teasing Nym, she’d rather not introduce him to Reece or anyone for that matter. ”This is …Nym,” she waved to the male off handedly. ”He might look homeless but he also goes to the academy.
A soft thing plopped onto her foot, making her look down. ”What…” her confused gaze turned exasperated. Another plushie?! Liv picked it up with care and stuffed it into her bag. This gryftoo was way too much.
Danny paused, taking in the blunt kirin and shrugged, before plunking the snowcone in the Kirin’s hands. “Here you go,” he said simply and turned on heel, walking away. It was mostly ice and water now. He glanced over the tables full of merchandise and hopeful sellers and while the plushies were cute they were not something that he cared to either buy nor win and he simply moved on. What could he do… a game maybe even if he didn’t really care to win anything it would at least be something to do.
Though what sort of game could he consider playing. Ring toss was a possibility but there was other games to think off.
Sally set down the gryftoo and nodded. “Perhaps I will try and see if I can get one as well.” The game looked like something she could do...“Ooh,” She flushed slightly, hands running down the skirt of the dress smoothing it self consciously. “Thank you.” She gathered herself and smiled.
“It seems that you have made a new friend too,” she added, giving a grin at the Rammykin and tried to ignore the gryftoo headbutts and rubs. She wasn’t going to pick her, him back up. “Not at all, I just arrived and well, let’s be not good at it together.”
“Three rings please… and lets see how I do.”She muttered taking the light hoops and tossed them, attempting to get them over the pegs. Well she managed one. She took a boa as well, purple to match her hair. “So, what do I do with this?”
Yes, the kirin was definitely flirting with him. Nuka shifted unsurely but smiled pleasantly regardless. Soleil, as they called themselves, was definitely attractive. But… not someone Nuka would pursue a relationship more than friends with.
”My name is Nuka,” he murmured in response with a small smile, hand going up to fiddle with his choker. His hands quickly came down to hold up his hands. ”Oh no, keep it! I can find one!” he insisted, blushing but grinning. He didn’t mean to make it seem like he was asking!
The other was very friendly. It was hard not to laugh and he pulled out his own boa to drape around his own shoulders. ”The color looks great on you,” he complimented, dimple showing up. He spotted a vespercat plushie, similar to Soleil’s, and quickly grabbed it. ”I found one!” he proclaimed excitedly.
”Not anymore!” Lilly whispered with a reassuring grin, though her grip did not leave Birkita’s. ”Birkita, you should be friends with Jane too. Then we can all be friends,” she rasped.
What Jane said had her eyes widening and a large grin appearing. ”Sure! What house are you in? You can room with me and Birkita! We can ask the caretakers until they hafta!” she suggested, too cheerfully.
Jane’s voice sounded weird when she called her by the nickname. Looking down, she saw Jane squirming around on the ground. ”Why don’t you get up? What’s wrong, Jane?” she asked in a rasped voice.
