She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
It was hard to not be in a good mood when around Adam. He was clearly trying at some humor to break the tension, but it was more than that. He seemed to have a way to make everyone feel special, not only by acknowledging their weapon choice and semblance, but complimenting them as well. Seeing as she already knew both Cecil's and Azura's semblances, she didn't have much to add to it. Honestly it was probably a good thing they had him here. Him and Azura both. They were the little voices or reason amongst the anger and arguments, and as much as she disagreed with everything else that Scylla was saying, she did have one good point. Their anger could draw the grimm. They were going to have a hard enough time going after the bandits and these mech machines with out the added factor of grimm. So rather than responding to her little speech, Ridley chose to ignore her, allowing her to go pout on the rock. Ridley certainly wasn't going to try and convince her to come back. Sure, she was trying to be reasonable, but she was stubborn enough and angry enough to ignore the fact that they could use all the help they could get. Including Scylla.
As her gaze landed on Adam, it was only a moment before his snapped up to meet hers. His reaction was very sudden and she very nearly jumped back, not out of fear or discomfort but simply surprise. If it had been anyone she didn't quite trust, namely Scylla in this moment, but it was Adam and he seemed to be the more peaceful of the group. Instead, she forced her feet to remain planted where they were, blinking once with her golden eyes, slightly wider than usual, as he hunched forward, his face just inches from her own. She couldn't help the slight pink color that filled her cheeks at his compliment. He was too close for her to use her hair for cover like she usually might, but she just hoped he was too distracted by her eyes to notice and offered him a friendly smile instead. "Thanks." Still he didn't back up, he didn't even seem to realize just how close he was, which caused a small smirk to tug at corner's of her lips. Once the realization it, he snapped back up which elicited a small laugh from Ridley. She gave a small shrug at his apology, shaking her head lightly. "No worries. I don't mind." When he offered to help her get her other sword back, the grin on her lips grew wider. "Sounds like a plan to me." She stated, nodding happily.
His response to her semblance was much more appreciative than she might have guessed. It was reassuring. She smiled, tilting her head sightly to the side as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "I won't let you down." She joked, giving him a salute much like she had upon first meeting him. Lowering her hand, she turned her golden eyes to watch Cecil's display of his semblance, seeing as his was actually demonstrable. She supposed hers technically was, but she doubted anyone would enjoy that much. Once he was finished, her attention was caught by Scylla and her band members as they preformed the song that was a part of the apparent ritual she had been speaking of. Adam was the first to speak and rather than causing more problems by letting her temper get the best of her, she gave the guy a gentle nudge in the side. "Very well put." She complimented. After all, he had said much of the same things she might have... just in a more polite way. Plus, as a member of Scylla's team, it probably came better from him.
Once he asked Scylla to explain her weapon and semblance, Ridley's gaze fell to the tracks, it seemed Azura was thinking much along the same lines she was. They really needed to get a move on. "Azura is right. Maybe we should walk and talk?" She questioned, her gaze leaving the tracks to access the rest of the members. It seemed they had all explained their abilities, though it seemed at this point the only semblances that would be useful against the mechs were Onyxia and Cecil's. Unless there were actually controlled by humans. Otherwise they would be relying heavily on those two. Scylla had explained hers briefly when she had first introduced herself, but Ridley didn't necessarily care to hear anymore about it. Not after her rude and brash behavior followed by her quitting and throwing her version of an adult temper tantrum, "Time to kick some bandit butt then, and maybe some mechs too." She stated, flashing her signature smirk at the others before following the tracks and heading into the cave.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.
Cecil could hear Adam's small surprise at his family heirloom and his inquiry if it was correct in how he said it. "Yes, you indeed said it correctly. And it does not stand for anything, it is just the name they gave it. I assume it was most likely the name of the blacksmith who forged it long ago." He responded before he closed his eyes, letting his body slightly freeze up for a bit as he was clearly trying to think of something. However, the idea of walking and talking did appeal to him, especially with Onyxia's semblance being known. "Walking and talking does sound delightful." He told the rest before he looked to Azure and soon placed a hand on her shoulder as he leaned in. "I know she isn't.... but that smug face is just asking to be slapped, whether by a weapon or by my bow of ice." He told Azure, responding to her in a quiet tone so only she could hear.

His right eye tracked it as it grew closer and closer to him, very quickly making up the small distance Garret had bought for himself while it had been attacking. He could easily hear its growl as followed after him, taking his bait and heading to the tree. As long as it went according to his plan, he should be fine. 'That is assuming I predicted its reaction correctly though.' he would silently think to himself, knowing his plan was far from foolproof but not having the luxury of time to think of another one. He had danced far too long with the creature, and his semblance was coming to an end. Though he could still fight without it he may not be so lucky as to just escape with the one wound if he did not end this quickly. It did not help that the presence of the horned girl only complicated issues for now. He hoped she would leave him to this fight alone from his words as he could not afford to spare his notice for her any further so long as this Grimm lived. He was not all seeing; if he were to be distracted, even for a moment, the Grimm may capitalize and use it against him. He pushed the thoughts of the girl from his mind entirely. 'It is just me and the beast...until it dies. Then there will be room for another.' He told himself to keep his focus on the fight. Worrying about her safety would be pointless and detrimental as his sole focus should be on slaying the Grimm.
Garret would smile as the Grimm fully took the bait, latching onto the tree and beginning to ascend it. He had no illusion that it would be able to easily out-climb him if it took anything from its form being similar to that of a bears. But the point was not to escape the Grimm, but to make sure the Grimm could not easily escape. 'The moment the predator finds itself the prey.' Garret would think to himself as his arrogant smile grew a little. It was a small window he could take advantage of, like he had done earlier, but a lot could be done in that time. He found it ironic he had foregone a straight up fight and gone for such...creative methods. It seemed too much setup and luck was required to even deal a blow, even if said blow should be more significant than most. He would have to try an alternate method next time he fought a Grimm like this and see how it would compare. He pushed the thought from his mind as the Grimm grew closer. Its claws would rake the tree before digging into it as it quickly ascended behind him. He could see Virtue prominently sticking straight up, almost reaching out for Garret. Heir was being rubbed against the bark of the tree, though not for long as it got caught on a branch during the Grimm's ascent and pulled out of it in the process as it would fall to the ground. Something Garret would keep note of should the fight continue past what he planned. 'As long as Virtue remains, the plan shall work.' He would think to himself as he prepared for the most important phase: springing the trap.
Garret would wait till the handle of Virtue was near his grasp, both to make sure he did not go to early nor too late. It was also, once the hilt of Virtue was near, that he would have his legs be much closer to his chest in his own ascent. Timing would be crucial. He would stop his own ascent as his left hand would quickly reach out to grab the hilt...before pushing off the tree with his rear legs and letting go of the tree with his right hand. His grip tightening around Virtue as he guided his legs while they were in air until they were standing on the back of the Grimm's large neck. His grip on Virtue keeping him from falling, he would quickly twist the bottom of the hilt and pull it up slightly with his right hand before he would pull the trigger. "This is for daring to think you could defeat me." Garret would calmly yet arrogantly say once the shot had been fired. The spearhead of the spear would then attempt to penetrate further to open up the barrel which was currently inside the Grimm's head to fire directly inside of it. This had been his plan with both Virtue and Heir: impale the beast, and then devastate it from the inside.
It was also at this time that he would both feel and subsequently see the horned person ramming herself into the Grimm before calling him a stupid human and mentioning something about it always being this way. He had no time to adequately answer her as he still had to see whether the Grimm would have any fight left in it after his shot. Until he was certain of its demise, he would not respond to her as of yet. He did not care for the girls tone nor her words, but he would set that aside for now till the immediate threat was dealt with. He also had to make sure it died as she had needlessly put both of them in danger by interfering in his fight with the Grimm. So much so...that he found it necessary to make sure he had his semblance active for even longer. He would focus on his semblance as he could feel it surge through him, feeling more powerful than before even though he knew it would only grant him more time than ability. He had to make sure this fight ended quickly now, for both their sakes as once his semblance ended he would have to pay a heavy price if the Grimm yet lived. ✘ Post count: 8 ✘Semblance timer: 5/5 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: Traveling through outskirts (about halfway to beacon). Adam looked to Azura as she asked her question. He quietly responded, "The thing was pretty lax. No one really wanted to take mantle of leader, but she did. Even though it may not seem like it, she doesn't like bossing people around. We're actually down a member and I think that could have something to do with it. Yo, especially since she was crushin' on him." he couldn't help to chuckle a bit. "I joke, but I'm very concerned myself." he said as his attitude turned a bit somber. He had no idea what happened to Damien. After the whole gym he hasn't heard a word about him or the girl Marron who saved him from the brunt of the explosion.
Once again Ridley stood to attention. A small smile graced his face once more. "A'ight. A'ight at ease." he said waving her off. "It's the least I can do considering we all a team nah." he said. "The only way you can let us down is if you don't put it 100 at all times. Other than that I ain't worried 'bout cha." he said throwing another smile at her. He was trying to get everyone used to each other so they could achieve some type of synergy. Especially since they now had a small clue as to what they were dealing with. Once he spoke to Scylla, he felt a small nudge. He offered a not of thanks to Ridley, but he hoped Scylla understood he wasn't being smart or rude. He just wanted everyone to understand each other.
"I'm glad I said it right. Never wanna throw disrespect on someone's family." he said to Cecil. Everyone started to head into the caves. "Comin', Cap?" he asked her over his shoulder. Even though she wasn't in the best mood, he knew that she wouldn't stay out there for long. She has her pride as a Huntress after all. And she wouldn't abandon Team Soda. While walking into the cave Adam turned to Onyxia. "You're gonna be the backbone against the mech so any opening you make I'll make good use of it." he said bumping her shoulder with his fist. "You can count on me."
The Ursa would fall from the tree, slowly evaporating as it was dead.

Ora would look up as the man was in a tree. He didn't seem to want her help at all. He wouldn't even address her. She was visibly shaking in Anger. Sure, the Grimm was defeated and he was saved, but she didn't think that he wanted her help because she was a faunus. She looked up at him, fire visibly in her eyes. "You're too good for help?" They would have time to talk now that they weren't in danger.
✘ Profile ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ In answer to Garret's combat stance as his mind was prepared for the beast to continue to fight given its shrugging off of all prior wounds, he was left unprepared as it gave way beneath him. The Grimm's claw would slip from the tree as its body went limp and started to fall backwards, away from the tree. Given his position of standing on the back of its neck, he could feel himself about to join it in its free fall if he did not act quick enough. Moving quickly as he did not want to fall with the Grimm's corpse landing on him, no matter how short of a time that may be, he would let go of Virtue and kick off the creature's corpse. Though he was usually a fairly acrobatic person, the suddenness of this had left him with little time to prepare or plan how this would turn out for him. He would hit the ground with his back, his wounds there particularly as he would wince and bite his lip while sliding a little distance before coming to a stop. The Grimm would land right in front of him, its head and upturned jaw inches away from his body with its last expression of a crazed animal on its face. Though that fearsome look was slightly lessened as Virtue stuck out of its head like a unicorn horn.
Garret would slowly push himself to the side and begin to rise to his feet, not wanting to stay vulnerable on the ground nor show any weakness to this other person that was here. He did his best to hide a slightly pained expression by focusing his thoughts on how he killed the Grimm, an arrogant smile soon replacing it as he fully stood up. Kicking its head to the side, he would have his boot hold it in place as he undid the firing mechanism on Virtue. There would be a small sound of the spearhead clicking into place and the sound of flesh being torn before he would wrench it free from the Grimm's head. Garret's gaze would remain on the Grimm a little longer, not yet focusing on the horned woman he was with. He could already see parts of it evaporating away, fading into the void as all Grimm did. 'Shame I can't give any more than my word on killing it. At least that is one less for me to slay later.' He would think to himself as his arrogant smile grew a little. He had not come unscathed from the fight, as he could feel the pulsing burn of the one on his back still, but he was not seriously harmed at least. He would have to tend to it later, as he could feel his aura was about to fade soon. 'Better to be prepared than to be caught by surprise.' He would reason to himself. He likely would not have used it had it not been for the horned girl being here, though it would serve to be an inconvenience now if he were to encounter any other Grimm. It would be a matter of avoiding them rather than slaying more unfortunately, but such was the cost of his own power. Despite it no longer being useful, he did not think he wasted it. He would keep it up for as long as he could in case any other Grimm were hiding about, and then have to hope he was not forced into a fight during that time. On the ground where he had slid was a slight amount of blood mixed in with the dirt, a small sign that he had been wounded at some point.
It was this in mind that he would turn his attention to the horned girl, hearing her speak yet again. His arrogant smile would falter lightly as he saw her stance and expression. She was shaking a little, and judging by the look in her eyes it was anger. He was wondering why she would be angry given the Grimm was dead until he heard everything she had to say, asking if he was too good for help. He would pause for a moment, thinking on that and on her words prior. He thought she was angry as he did not want her aid, but he was confused as to why that would be. So, he would answer her as he saw he should while walking towards her slowly and deliberately with Virtue in his left hand. "I know I am. The Grimm had no chance against me no matter how much it believed it did. Your presence meant I had to finish the fight sooner than intended so I would not need to worry about it attacking you." He would finish speaking in his arrogant and now stern voice directly in front of her, his voice raised in volume slightly more than normal. He would have his eyes focused on hers, a harsh look to them only once he had mentioned it was for her being attacked. His stance was standing straight up, and given their height difference, looking down to her as he stood fearless in front of her. Though he could have phrased it better and in a nicer tone, he felt she would only understand in this one. The message, to him at least, was clear: he did not desire her help because she would be a liability. He could not fathom that she thought it was because she was not human, as he did not care what someone was so long as they weren't the Grimm. To him, people were measured by their actions and words rather than what they were born as. Which for her he was currently debating if she was even worth the effort. He had not asked for the help, of that he had been clear, so why she would be angry about that annoyed him as he could still not figure out why she seemed to be taking it so personally. ✘ Post count: 9 ✘Semblance timer: 6/5 ✘Grimm Killed: 1 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: Traveling through outskirts (about halfway to beacon).

Ora would look up as the man seemed to be a bit taller than her. She didn't care at that point. Everyone needed help. "Why would you be worried about me getting hit? I'm a tank in full armor." She would point to her shiny body of armor. "Why would you need to even have to move faster, had you accepted me as partner, even just for the battle, you would have been able to take hits, you also would not have gotten injured." She hated seeing people hurting themselves for no reason.
She would place her gauntlet covered fingers onto the bridge of her nose. This was an infuriating man. She had dealt with this kind of thing before, however, she hoped that things wouldn't be that way at the school. She had been traveling from her hiding place. She hoped that they wouldn't see her as a member of the clan that she was trying to get back together. She needed Narx, this man didn't matter. "Never mind." She would then start to walk off, in the direction of the school.
✘ Profile ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ Garret felt slightly amused as the horned girl looked up to him, though not because her eyes were fearful or intimidated in anyway. The amusement was rather from the fact that she seemed to not care for the fact that they had such a height difference, as well as her seeming to not particularly care for his antics. Which was something not many people did. Prior, he did not really care to know much about her. She seemed quick to anger, didn't heed his words when he said not to interfere and seemed to have an issue with humans for whatever reason. 'How shall I proceed? Now that the fights over I can merely leave or tag along with this one if we happen to be going in the same direction...' Garret would silently think to himself, all the while his eyes would be locked onto hers.
As she spoke, Garret's arrogant smile would never falter. Almost appearing as if her words weren't really having an effect on him. But then appearances could be deceiving. Each word she said he would mull over in his head, thinking of an appropriate response to each and everyone of her points. Though he spoke nothing and seemed to not be inclined to speak during her pauses, it was merely because that was the respectable thing to do in his mind. He wanted her to finish and lay all her points to bare before he would respond to her. It would also help him tailor his responses to her once he heard the full thing. Whether his response would ease her anger or not was of little consequence to him. He preferred that she would be less inclined to try and come to his aid in the future so that she would not be put in peril because of it. Too many had died because of him, and though he valued his own life, he did not value his over another's unless he found the other unworthy in his own mind.
While thinking of a response to her, he watched her put her hand to the bridge of her nose. 'A sign of irritation.' He would quietly note to himself as his mind was thinking of the correct words. It seemed strange to him that she would be this way merely because he had refused her help. Even those who cared about others usually did not show this level of anger at someone just because they didn't want help. 'If she knew why I didn't want it the anger may be eased. But then I have no desire to speak of it, and this ensures she will not risk her life for mine in the future.' He would reason to himself, the reason being painful to him and not one he ever wanted to relive. Sure, it made his own odds of his goal being completed go down but that was something he could live with. It was then that she said never mind and walked off in the direction he was heading; to the school.
Garret smirked slightly as she started walking off, at a decent pace despite being in what he thought was particularly heavy armor. She had to be strong and used to it to not be struggling with walking like that for the distance alone of just between Vale and Beacon. Garret decided he would follow her, but not immediately. He turned and headed the opposite direction at first, bending down to pick up Heir and strapping Virtue to his back. He would take out a cloth to lightly dust Heir off and keep it clean before smiling to himself satisfied. He almost immediately went back till he noticed the rose from earlier. Pausing, he would bend down to pick it up. It was slightly beaten from the hitting the Grimm even if it had no effect, but whole. Looking over to the evaporating body of the Grimm, he would carefully place the rose on its chest. 'Though evil, your sacrifice has led to my own improvement. You were a worthy foe, and I will not forget our battle.' Garret would slowly say in his own mind, not feeling he needed to say it vocally. With that done, he would hurry after the girl with the last of his heightened speed while also picking up his satchel that he has tossed aside during the fight. He would quickly catch up to her though he did not appear like he put too much effort in doing so if she had been watching, the speed seeming not entirely like what someone should be able to do. It was also because her armor seemed to be slowing her down.
Garret would not go directly next to her, but rather a few feet off to her right while being lined up with her. He would slow his speed and fall into step besides her, smirk now gone but replaced with a casually arrogant smile. He would waste no time before he would begin to speak, holding Heir in his right hand and lightly tapping the base of it to the ground every other step. His voice was confident as usual, but also a bit quaint. "It would seem our paths, for the moment, are the same. So despite you no longer requiring an answer, I may as well answer your inquiries before we fall back to silence." He would begin, pausing midway as he would glance to her slightly curious how her reaction would be...but keeping his gaze to her for now as he spoke. He was taught to always look to the person you were speaking with as a sign of respect, and though he may have made it clear he did not want to fight with her earlier he did respect the inner fire she seemed to have. His eyes, though harsh before, had a more curious look to them now with a slight amusement as well. "To respond in order to your points, I will start with your armor. It slows you down, and though the Grimm was big it was not slow. Had it been able to knock you down, it would be very hard for you to get up." Garret would say, his eyes briefly glancing to take in her armor now that he was closer and directly mentioning it. It would offer a good deal of protection but he always found them far too limiting in his mind. He preferred speed and power, a strong offense, to being overly defensive. "For your second point, all you said was for me to accept your aura. This is the first I have ever met you, so I have no idea what your aura would do. Many auras have a cost to them, some more detrimental than others. If I were to constantly have to rely blindly on others, how would I ever better myself in battle? How would I ever learn of my own weaknesses and how to overcome them? Yes, I did get injured, but it taught me an inherent flaw in one of my ideas. I took the blow, and I survived to finish the fight. We will not always have others, so the more we rely solely on ourselves the better prepared we will be to fend for ourselves when needed." Garret would say, not once pausing throughout all of that though taking a deep breath afterwards. His tone had momentarily lost its amusement during that time and had been serious, as was his expression. There was also a hint of regret and sorrow in his tone at that point, very minor but present as his mind had returned to why he was currently alone. He had been too focused on his answer to keep up his arrogant smile, and upon realizing it had faded he would quickly bring it up again as he would shift his gaze away from her and focus on the path ahead of them. "Given that we are both headed to Beacon, i'm assuming, it would be prudent to give you some way of identifying me no matter how you feel about me or if we ever even cross paths again. Many people call me Lancer, and I find that sufficient enough to be addressed as. Whether you chose to or not is up to you." Garret would finish speaking, his gaze still on the road ahead now rather than on her. He could still see her through his peripheral, but he was not directly focused on her. He felt the last bit of his semblance fading as his aura completely expired. If Ora had been looking, she would notice that where before his steps were incredibly light and fast, she would now see his steps to be a bit more pronounced as his legs seemed to move at a more human speed.

Ora would walk by herself for a little bit. She knew that she wasn't the fastest person out there, however, she had a mission. First part was finding Narx, then it would get more complicated from there. SHe didn't know what Ideas that he would have for what they could do. She had no clue where he was even being held, nor what happened to him. She wanted to build their family back together. She would then notice that the man was around her. She ignored him at first. He was talking something about them heading in the same direction. He would talk about her being slow in her armor. She understood that point, but that was the point of the armor. If her Aura went down, then she would still have protection.
He would then talk about him not accepting the Aura. That part irritated her the most. He had gotten injured because he had not accepted her help. She and her Aura would have taken the hit, it would have been perfectly fine. They both would have been uninjured and they would have been able to fight the Grimm together. It could have brought them closer together.
He would then introduce himself as Lancer. She would sigh, and reply. "I'm Ora." She was still irritated with him, but right now he seemed to have a more human way of stepping. She would then try to respond to each of his statements. "When walking, yes I am slower, however, my Semblance makes me faster than even yourself. There is a catch though. If you don't let me attach my Aura to yours, I am unable to switch places with you. All of the conditions were met perfectly for me to take the hit for you, yet you didn't have trust in a child. How jaded you must be. I keep armor this heavy on myself because I take hits for others. I've forgone a typical weapon so that I can use what I am given as a Sheep Faunus." She didn't mention that she was apart of the Demon clan. If he knew, then he might try to capture her, and sell her on the black market. She was not going though that again. She also doubted that he could even carry her.
He would see her rubbing her arm, thinking silently to herself. She wasn't sure how she was going to get through this walk without giving him any inclination of her mission.

It was not a major impact each time it bounced nor was it particularly significant to him currently. He barely even noticed it as he was traveling alongside this person, instead mostly focusing on the forest surrounding them and the path ahead as he awaited a response from her. When she spoke again, his attention would turn from the path ahead and look towards her as he felt he had sufficiently regained his composure. With her sigh, it almost felt as if he had forced the answer from her and that she was only just tolerating him. Which suited him just fine for now as it would be better this way. That is not to say he would not seek her out for conversation whenever it suited him, but this level of distance accomplished one of his goals. Hearing her call herself Ora, he was curious as to what the name meant or signified. 'Or if it is her given name.' He would think to himself, having given her an alias rather than his actual name. He wouldn't know for sure unless he asked her, but he was not currently interested in knowing as that may lead to the question being redirected towards him. In his head, he had a far different nickname for her but for now he would remain quiet and merely note the name she gave for later.
His gaze was about to turn back to the path ahead until he heard her begin to respond to all the points he had made earlier, which surprised him slightly. He was expecting the rest of the walk to continue on in silence rather than this topic continue. Intrigued, he would listen to her with a calm smile on his face as he internally debated her own points. Though she agreed with his point on her speed, it appeared her semblance allowed her to trade places with someone as she stated it would be faster than even he could move. She seemed to ignore the fact that despite the only requirement being for him to willingly accept her aura, he had no idea what that would do prior. Though he doubted then, and especially so now, that she had bad intentions it was a precaution he took in the heat of battle. Had he known beforehand what she could do he may have accepted...though even then it was doubtful he would as he thought of why he left Vale alone. Garret's smile slightly faded when she mentioned she was a child and that he was jaded. The former was because while in that heavy armor he was unable to ascertain her age, and did not expect a child to go into the outskirts on their own. That of itself was something that made him feel all the more justified for not accepting her help, despite her armor being better equipped to take a blow than himself currently. The latter was because he did not understand how jaded had any part to this. 'In what sense of the word does that apply here?' He would think to himself, confused. The word essentially meant to be tired of something, bored or without enthusiasm. He hardly saw any of that as fitting but dismissed the thought from his mind as it wasn't particularly relevant.
Mentioning then that she was a sheep faunus, which would explain the horns, he was slightly curious as to why she would forego any other type of weapon than just her horns. Certainly the armor must weigh heavily but he doubted the weight of one additional weapon would be that significant as to forego one. He had a feeling it may do with how he only had his spears and no alternative weapon with him, but even then her weapon was incredibly short ranged. While thinking on how to respond, he noticed rubbing her arm as if in thought of something. Typically from what he knew was that it meant something they did not particularly enjoy, and with his own memories of that nature he did not try to press her on that whatsoever. His eyes would travel from her to the path ahead as he remained in thought. He was unsure on where he would continue the conversation, if even, as she stubbornly seemed to think she was in the right. He doubted continuing that line of conversation would yield much more out of her that would be even remotely civil, as the jaded comment felt as if she were trying to insult him...though admittedly failing horribly if that were the case. Which left only two things he had any care to ask of her or felt he had access to. One being why a child, as she called herself, would venture out alone from Vale to Beacon through an area full of Grimm rather than one of the safer ways there. The second reason was why she only used her horns apparently in combat. A charged up hit with it would likely hurt, but after that he could not seeing that being too effective unless she was abnormally strong. 'She would have to be to carry that armor and feel she could go through here by herself.' He reasoned to himself.
Feeling enough time had passed in silence as he thought of what to say, his gaze would return to her as he spoke in a more curious tone than normal, though his arrogant smile remained on his face. "How being jaded even fits in this context I do not know, but I had not known you were a child till now. The armor tends to obscure that fact by the way, though I do not particularly care of the age of someone so much as their ability. And, as stated before, I had no knowledge of what you could do." Garret would pause momentarily before he would continue. "But that is besides the point, seeing as we are both going to remain believing we are correct in this instance. I am far more curious as to why a child, as you described yourself, would venture through the outskirts alone? You know of my preference for being alone, but you seem like one who thrives with a companion." He would pause momentarily, thinking on whether he should ask this or not given his prior question was far more significant, before he would continue as he decided he may as well ask. "Admittedly, i'm also curious as to why you only use your horns. Is there a reason why you don't just bring another weapon to have more versatility?" He would finish speaking with his gaze remaining on her. He knew that whether or not she chose to answer his former question, it was possible he would be asked in return what his purpose was as he felt the weight of the satchel bouncing against his side. He had nothing to hide for his current task, thankfully. A new nickname for her popped into his head, one that with her quick to anger nature would likely elicit a reaction from her. Feeling a smirk appear on his face, he would wait before he would mention it to her. ✘ Post count: 11 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 1/5 ✘Grimm Killed: 1 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: Traveling through outskirts.

Ora walk quietly during their break in talking. She kept rubbing her arms, trying to hide the fact that they were heavily scared. She knew that they were completely covered thanks to the armor, however, she felt as if he was staring through her armor. She didn't want anyone to see her scar covered body. Her face was the only thing left in the open, as they had not wanted to harm their merchandise so that she would sell. She didn't know why this man reminded her of that. She wanted to leave it all behind.
He started to speak again, asking why she thought he was jaded, and that her armor hid the fact that she was a child. She was glad for that, it had helped her before, but that didn't change the fact that she was but 17 years old. Most people would call her an adult, but that wasn't how she saw it. Her childhood had been taken from her, and she would lose her family to the people of Vale. Her being here was only for one thing. It was to get her leader, the leader of the demon clan. However, she could not tell him about this. This was something she had to do on her own.
He mentioned that she would be better with someone else. That was true, her semblance didn't without an ally, but there was no one else that she knew that was of the same clan as herself. Otherwise, yes, she would have loved to have someone with her; however, she had no one but herself. He then wanted to know why she only used her horns as a weapon. She would walk over to one of the trees, and she would bring her head back, and then she would headbutt the tree. She left a huge dent in it, then she placed her hand on it, and it fell over.
Her head would show no bleeding, she didn't show any recoil from moving in such a way, she wasn't rubbing the back of her neck. She stood there. "This is why I don't use a weapon." She hadn't rammed the tree, she had head butted it. "As to why I'm alone, I'm on my way to Beacon, to become a student. I don't yet have a team, and I don't have any friends." She would then start moving again. "My face looks young, I'm not trying to fool anyone into anything. Even at a quick glance, someone was willing to help you, yet you didn't take it." She then would continue to walk in the way of the school.
Scylla sighed and finally shrugged. Seemed everyone was ready to go though it didn't really matter. The only escape was this was so if they really wanted they could wait out here for them. "Well if we really wanted we could just wait out here for them to come to avoid any chances of missing them. Assuming the info is correct and this is the only escape route. Onyxia when have I ever followed the rules? I have no intention of starting now, that'd just be lame. Hey Tethys, Lethe, let's do the usual to see who goes in.""I'm cool with Ro sham bo, makes it easy. ""With your bad luck, I'll take those odds any day." They quickly got together and did rock paper scissors. It ended in a tie. "Tie go again." A few more times and Scylla ended up losing. A scowl formed on her face and she slugged her guitar up onto her shoulder. "Starting to think you guys are cheating, first the school now this. Whatever just make sure no one makes it out or whatever." She motioned to team SODA as she went forward to the front of everyone.
Scylla naturally took up the front because she simply had that she could tell the best way to spot an ambush. "By the way Refrigerator Boy, your whispering is pointless. I literally can hear that just as well as you hear me right now. So may as well speak up. Anyways excluding that, I'll make sure we don't get ambushed." She was already in the front and took the lead as she walked forward. She closed her eyes and just focused on using echolocation. Much better than her eyes down here where it was dark. She could also essentially see in front of her for a while. All she had to do was click her tongue and produce the necessary sound aka the right vibrations. Whatever lay down the path she would know about it before they came to it which made ambushes useless. "Better to not talk and make noise if possible." She whispered down the line just loud enough to carry behind her but less so in front.

Her facial expressions were vague, and for now, unreadable to him. He would only ever learn them with time and getting to know her, which he doubted would ever happen. Though her actions and some expressions could be ascertained, all of the subtle ones were completely lost to him. He only assumed she was taking her time to think because of the small silence left after he had spoken, as well as him no longer detecting an extreme hostility or annoyance to his presence. Those typically had very obvious signs not just in the face but in the body as well...which was admittedly obscured by the armor. She had continued her actions of rubbing her arms beneath her armor, as if something about them was significant. From what he could see, namely her armor, there was nothing significant about them. 'Tis more likely she is thinking about something rather than there being something there.' He would think to himself. Just a nervous habit someone may have when reminded of an event, as he doubted she was at all nervous in his presence.
It was then that he noticed her begin to walk to the side rather than forward along their path. Curious as to what she was doing, Garret would pause and remain in place. If she threatened to go out of his line of sight he would follow her, but until then he would merely remain waiting and watching from here. 'Had I probed to deep?' Garret wondered to himself, thinking perhaps she was purposefully separating herself from him even further with his questioning. Before he could debate it further, he noticed she had walked up to a tree. Before he could think of why she would stop there, having been thinking he may have asked a question that was too personal and wondering why that would be, he noticed her lean her head back...before she would headbutt the tree. Garret's eyes widened slightly, wondering why she would do such a thing. His eyes would glance to her while currently not being able to clearly see her face...and then as he looked to the tree he saw a rather large dent in it. She then placed one of her hands exactly where she dented it as the tree would then fall over. 'I suppose that answers my earlier inquiry.' He would think to himself, slightly in shock to see she had that much power within her. He now had a better understanding of why she would venture alone. 'Particularly because that is not part of her semblance.' He would quietly add in his mind.
Garret's gaze would briefly travel to Heir in his hand. While he had nowhere near the crushing power she did with her horns, he did have the advantage of his weapons being able to pierce. Which meant he did not need such brute strength in order to inflict wounds, but that did not necessarily make his style better. 'She would be a fearsome opponent if I were ever to face her in combat.' He would think to himself, knowing that despite himself having range and speed she had strength and a strong defense. Armor like hers left very little opening for his spears to pierce through, whereas his speed would be the only thing to stop her from landing a blow. Trading blows would not end favorably either. A small smile formed on his face at the thought that she may be a challenge, but thinking on his minor wound and the fact that he could not use his own aura or semblance dissuaded him from challenging her now. 'It shall have to be another time.' He promised both himself and her in his mind. It was not often he found someone he thought would pose an intense challenge. Further, despite how minor he believed the wound to be, it was taking some effort to ignore the pain form it as there path to beacon still had a little ways to go.
It was then that she turned enough for Garret to finally see the part of her that had impacted the tree, bringing him out from his thoughts. He was surprised to see no bleeding or any sign of injury and discomfort after her powerful strike. He had assumed it would be a double edged sword of having such power, but it appeared to have no consequence whatsoever. Which made her deadlier in his mind as she would be able to go indefinitely with her strikes. 'Though in order for her to do so, she cannot wear a helmet. And seeing as she had named her horns her main weapon...her head itself was not invulnerable.' He reasoned to himself. However, for him to strike there and do any significant effect would mean the blow potentially being fatal and he almost never dueled to the death. It was then that she would plainly say that was why she did not use any other weapons. He could only imagine now how strong she would be if she actually charged into an enemy before headbutting them. She would then proceed to remark and answer all of his prior points, resuming their walk back to the school. Garret would calmly resume his walk with her, keeping the same relative distance as before as he would think of all that he had seen and what was said. He thought of her as being slightly childish to continue the point of accepting her help when it was clear both of them would believe what they wanted and their minds would not change, him going as far as to say so. 'She likely just desires the last word, as is so common.' He thought to himself, and seeing no point as to continue that dead discussion he would let her have it on that end. When she mentioned she was not trying to fool anyone about her age Garret's eyes would narrow slightly. Despite her openly mentioning it to him, he doubted she would be out here without anyone if she were as open as she claimed. At least one of the guards would've offered to come with her, had she come from Vale. Which reminded him he did not know where she originated from, not that it mattered now nor did he care to know. He already had the answers to all the questions he had asked, as she had mentioned her desire to be a student and the fact that she was without team or friends.
Which Garret did not find particularly strange given her nature from what he had observed so far. She was quick to anger and irritate, was stubborn to the end and seemed to desire having the last word on things. She also seemed to have something that bothered her, some memory, but of what he was unsure. Despite her willingness to cooperate and help others, she did not seem to have a sense of manners or to understand that help is not always wanted. That, and given her preference to interfere were all reasons Garret could see why she was yet to have any friends. There were a few redeeming qualities about her, but he could see why it would be hard to get to. He would ponder slightly on whether or not she should speak, having not been asked anything in return as he knew he was the main force driving this conversation. He could allow it to go to silence now and continue their journey in peace, but it hardly seemed right to do so as he had gleamed a significant amount of information from her yet she had so little of him. He would allow this silence to go on for a few seconds as his pace was matched with hers, eyes still scanning around them but not too intensely as he awaited his aura to return to him. Once his mind was decided he would begin to speak, his tone cocky and sporting an arrogant smile. "In my mind, a team relies too much on one another. It is better to be trained to fight alone so that you do not become a detriment by relying on others. Inversely, you would not desire your allies to be a detriment as they solely rely on you. Despite this, I will admit there are certain advantages to having a team as well." He would pause as he added the last part, relenting at least a little to her preference for cooperation. It would be dishonest to discredit the benefits of it entirely. He would then continue as before. "Seeing as you have given me your reason for traveling through here, it is only fair I give you mine. I am headed to Beacon merely for a delivery." Garret would pat the satchel at his side at the mention of this to show where the stuff he was delivering was before he would continue. "Not as glamorous an endeavor as yours, but 'tis the reason why." Garret neglected to mention the fact that it was his official job, but found it unnecessary to say. He also refrained from mentioning he had chosen this route solely for not only the scouting and chance to encounter Grimm, but because he trusted his fate to himself far more than with others. 'As well that there was the hope I would not have to worry about another, though you changed that.' He thought to himself, keeping his expression carefully arrogant as the thought crossed his mind. To make sure the expression did not slip again like it had earlier, he allowed a mischievous counter to one of her points to cross his mind as he would ask one last question of her. "If you believe you should always accept help, and that you do not hide your young age, how is it that you were allowed into the outskirts alone? Surely one of the guards would have offered you some aide, or advised you to travel with a group. That is, of course, assuming you came from Vale as I did." Feeling he had caught her in a contradiction allowed for his arrogant smile to become genuine again as was also evident in his tone, believing she had refused help as he had upon leaving Vale. However if she hadn't, it would also mean her journey was far longer than he originally thought. ✘ Post count: 12 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 2/5 ✘Grimm Killed: 1 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: Traveling through outskirts.
Onyxia looked to the others. "No one cared enough to claim it. I’m the eldest but she’s the most stubborn." Shotgun at the ready, shield in hand. "Look, teams will probably change because of all this. We need to focus on the here and now. We got a Mech out there and for some reason everyone wants to find it." She looked to Adam and gave him a little nudge. "Keep an eye out. I’m not too eager to meet this thing and don’t know why everyone else is."
